Before Gao and the dragons met Tasuku

Drum waited for the green dragon to tell his plan but felt a little nervous about it. He knew the other dragon enough that he wouldn't put them in danger, as they couldn't be more in their current situation.

Jackknife started, "There is something extremely important I want you to do Drum."

"What is it? If it's not hurting Tasuku, you can count on it. He is still our friend," he gave a thumb up.

The dragon nodded negatively at the other one, "I know you wouldn't but that's not the plan. It's… something personal I want you to do," he tapped with his claws nervously while avoiding to directly look at them.

That made the red dragon nervous. His instinct was telling him that wouldn't like that at all, "Tell us now."

Gao was also wondering what it was. The green dragon left the chamber for a few seconds, leaving them unsure of it, until he came back with a deck case. The deck case of Tasuku, "Gao. I want to face Demios by your side… as your buddy."

"H-hey! I'm Gao's buddy!" the red dragon yelled, outraged.

"Drum! Tasuku is my buddy and I must be the one to fight him! I cannot just sit and do nothing. Especially when I know that he's still the boy I know. I cannot watch you fight Tasuku while wondering if you can help him or not. That's why I want to be the one fighting. To save my buddy. It has to be me."

"What do you think Drum?" the boy asked unsure. He wanted to respect the wishes of Jackknife, but Drum was his buddy. He couldn't ignore the red dragon.

Drum was perplexed and didn't reply. He didn't like this at all, but the other dragon was right. Tasuku was his buddy. The red dragon had to let him take this fight, "Fine. Besides. A human can have another buddy."

The boy simply smiled at his buddy.

"Thank you Drum. Thank you so much," the green dragon joyfully replied with a smile.

"However. You have to promise me one thing Jackknife," Drum ordered as he took his real form.

"Of course. What is it?"

"Promise me to win this fight. No matter what. I refuse to lose Gao to Azi Dahaka. I will not accept defeat!"

The green dragon nodded, "I won't accept it either. I will save Tasuku."

Chapter 141: The Clash Of Friends Part 2

Present time

The battle began, and the two dragons charged. Demios was ready to strike with his blade and aimed for the shoulder, knowing that his buddy wouldn't want to face his demise. Jackknife avoided the attack and countered with his claws, missing his target. Demios took a safe distance and prepared himself to strike again when he saw flames coming from nowhere. He was struck by it and tackled by the green dragon.

Demios landed on his feet and grunted, looking at the sky and then at Gao. The boy frowned, already casted his spell.

Tasuku knew that he had to enter in the fight now and took out his card, turning it into his sword, Demios Sword. He was ready to face his friend who also called his own sword. The two were ready to fight against each other's. There was a moment of hesitation between the two friends, before they charged.

Drum tail was now bouncing nervously on the ground as the two humans started fighting. As he heard the swords clashing, he felt like he wanted to jump and end the fight. He knew he couldn't and forced himself to remain still. That was something he never realised in a battle like this. What it felt when you are on the side and those you care are fighting. Drum was jumpy when the blade of Tasuku would go too close to Gao. That made his body trembled, I never realised that before. I was always fighting too… This feels completely different. I shouldn't accept what Jackknife prop- No! I must believe in them, just as they believed in Tasuku! He forced his thought that way. It was too late to turn back anyway.

Gao blocked any strikes coming at him by his friend and tried to counter-attack, but the thought of wounding Tasuku held him back. This duel was clearly not like the one they had before, as they were directly fighting against each other's this time. Despite that, Gao was also noticing that his friend was holding back. They were simply preventing the other from casting a spellcard.

Tasuku frowned as he tried to disarm his adversary, but each time he had the chance, he held back at the last second and failed to do so. The thought always came that he might hurt his friend and his will weakened each time those thought came.

"Tasuku!" Gao grunted as he blocked another attack and put pressure on the other boy, forcing them to stand still, "You know that Azi Dahaka wants to take over the world, right?"

The blue-haired boy frowned as he heard those words and grunted, "Yeah," he looked right in the eyes of the red and black-haired boy, "I know that is his plan. This is the best way to change the world for the better! Everyone was ready to throw monsters out of our world because they weren't like us!"

"You also mean Jackknife," Gao said, more as an affirmation than a question.

Tasuku pushed the boy away and kicked the chest of the boy, sending him on the ground. Gao quickly stood up, "Him too! Also, for everyone who had a buddy!"

"You know that Commander I is back as the commander of the Buddy Police Force? I'm sure you already know this!" Gao yelled as he charged again.

The blue-haired for avoided the blade and countered, while interjecting, "Of course! But it won't change anything!"

Gao avoided the blade and let go of his sword. He grabbed the wrist of his friend and threw him on the ground, restraining him, "Of course it changes everything!"

"It's only because we gave you everything you needed to arrest them," he replied, before freeing himself from the other one's grasp and took his distance.

The Sunfighter grabbed his sword back and nodded negatively, "You don't know everything then Tasuku."

The Purgatory Knight frowned at his friend and prepared his next strike, "Gao. You are the one in the wrong side. Another Tenchi will come eventually."

"And we will stop him."

"You are believing that? You cannot be sure that you can stop another one. I know that one of them escaped."

"We will find him Tasuku."

Tasuku charged and their battle continued.

Jackknife and Demios flew higher in the sky as they blade collided against each other's. None of them managed to overpower the other. Every time the green dragon charged, he always flew away from the dark dragon, to avoid any counter attack. Compared to Demios, his weapon was on his head and they didn't have a fighting style that looked like they might be doing a death dance. The two dragons glared at each other's as they charged again, striking with everything they got to no avail.

Jackknife gazed at his current buddy and Tasuku and saw that none of them could act. He knew he needed to increase his power if he wanted to win his fighting against the darkness dragon.

As for Demios he also gazed at his buddy, making sure that he was fine, "I know why you are here Jackknife, but Tasuku is one of us now. A powerful and proud purgatory knight. I will not let you claim him back!"

"Tasuku is not someone you can treat like-"

"An object? I am not! He is a brother in arm! None of my soldiers are object Jackknife! You know little of our group!" Demios yelled furiously as he concentrated his dark power into his sword and swung it. A line of dark energy flew towards the green dragon but missed the target who avoided it at the last second.

He's right. Tasuku wouldn't stay if he was an object, that realisation was painful for the exiled dragon. He avoided another attack and replied, "But we have something bigger than you Demios! We are a family. Even if our bond is wounded right now, I will never let it break! I will mend it and made my b-" he decided to yell what he really thought, "-My son realise that he took the wrong path!"

The dark dragon frowned at those words, taking seriously the weight that they contained. He tightened his grips on the handle of his sword, he is telling the true. This is enraging me! More than I thought! He yelled and charged. With one swing, he slashed the underbelly of the green dragon and blood spread on the ground. The wound wasn't deep, but enough to make the dragon bleed, "I refuse to lose Tasuku Jackknife!" he pointed his bloody sword at his enemy and showed his fangs.

Jackknife did the same, ignoring the pain. That pain was far from what he felt when he lost his last member of his family. A dragon was known to be protective of their greatest treasure and ready to fight with everything they had to protect it. His treasure was Tasuku and he intended to do the same.

"-My son realise that he took the wrong path!"

Tasuku heard those words and froze for a second. He gazed up and looked at his buddy while his grip on his sword was weakening.

Gao saw his chance and charged. He disarmed his friend and tried to retrain him, but the blue-haired boy jumped away.

Tasuku took out a spellcard and yelled, "Inferno Rule!"

Flame appeared from the card and went towards the other boy. Gao casted a Blue Dragon shield to block it and almost lost his balance. Tasuku took his chance and claimed back his sword. He turned towards his friend and charged.

Once the shield disappeared, Gao saw the boy coming fast and blocked the blade at the last second. It slid on the handle of his sword and the boy lost his balance.

The boy used Demios sword to create an arc and hit the shoulder of the boy.

"Gao!" Drum yelled when he saw blood coming out of his buddy shoulders.

The blue-haired boy saw what he did and froze there. His breathing accelerated at the sight of the blood and wanted to say anything, to apology for what he did, but it wasn't the time for that.

Gao stood up and winced painfully, holding the sword, "You are really holding your words Tasuku. If you are ready to go that far for the Darkness Dragon, then I don't recognise you," he looked in the eyes of his friend and knew that his friend was horrified by his action, "But I know this isn't why you are. You are not someone who would hurt good person like that. That's why Jackknife is right. What Azi Dahaka and Kyoya are doing to you is changing you into someone else."

"You are wrong! I am fighting at the side of justice. You saw what happened at the Buddy Police Station. You saw what is going on in the elections. You think they are in the right? You think they are representing justice?" the purgatory knight boy asked as his arms lightly shook.

"And you think you are representing it?" the Mighty Sunfighter raised his voice as he ignored the pain.

"I will never let justice fade Gao," he replied as he took the offensive again.

Drum watched the two children fighting and clenched his hands again. He remained in his SD form, but he wanted so much to do something, anything. It was almost literally killing him to watch and do nothing. His buddy was wounded, and he couldn't do anything. The red dragon was only a witness. He grunted as he took a step forward, before taking it back and telling himself, you can believe them Drum! You know what your buddy and Jackknife are capable off, he noticed Gao taking some distance and drawing a spell card. He saw it, looks like they are getting serious now. You better win this. I don't want to lose my buddy.

Next chapter will take a little more time. There is more things I need to prepare or that chapter and the resolution later on will be too weak. So it will take a longer time to write the next chapter.
