Chapter 149: The Grand Operation Part 5
Baku faced his cousin with his buddy Axia. His cousin Retsu Omori was with his buddy, Black Dragon of Demise, Death Tallica.
Tallica was a tall gray dragon with dark purple wings on his upper back and a pair of wings on his lower back. He had two arms with smaller heads as fingers and one big clawed foot that held an ominous sphere. He had a hole on the center of his chest with fangs around it as if he had another mouth.
"Hello nightmare fuel!" the blue dragon said as he pointed his staff at the other dragon.
Baku agreed at the fearsome appearance of the darkness dragon.
"We are fighting your family Retsu?" Tallica asked with a calm and ominous voice.
"Yes," the red hair boy replied.
"I'm ready," the darkness dragon calmly replied.
Baku and his buddy were expecting a more intimidating behavior form that dragon, not something calm like that. The dragon from Magic World prepared himself for battle and spun his staff, "Baku. I'm ready to face him," he pointed his weapon at the face of the nightmare fuel dragon.
"Me too," he drew his spell card while his cousin did the same.
Tallica took the offense and charged at the other dragon, ready to bite a piece of the blue dragon.
Axia ducked at the last second and countered with an electric shock, which the darkness dragon took head on and didn't flinch as he slowly turned around.
"This isn't something that will defeat me dragon from Magic World," he calmly replied, not felling any pain at all.
"I was just getting started," Axia yelped before dodging a blast coming at him at the last second. He rolled on the ground and avoided more blast, which he managed to see coming from his many mouths of his hands. He countered with a thunder ball and hit the dragon right in the hole of the chest. That one seemed it wind the gray dragon as he covered the hole and grumbled. The blue dragon grinned and said, "Weak spot of that nightmare fuel."
"Again with that," the gray dragon chuckled, "I'll take it as a compliment," he lightly grinned, "Now," he created a ball of darkness with his fingers, "Taste this."
He threw the shadow ball and it exploded near the blue dragon, sending him in the air before rolling on the ground.
"That hurts," the blue dragon grumbled before standing up.
Another dark ball came at him.
Baku yelled, "Magical GoodBye!"
The dark ball disappeared and that took their adversaries by surprise.
"What is that?" Retsu asked.
"A new spell we made together of course," Axia said as he adjusted his hat and his monocle. He cleaned his clothes, "Can't always count of the same old spell cards. Got to go beyond what we can think," before charging.
The darkness dragon charged and reached to bit Axia, but the blue dragon used his staff to jump above the darkness dragon and threw a lightning bolt on the back of the dragon, doing little damage before smashing the skull of the darkness dragon with his staff. He jumped from the back and landed behind the darkness dragon. He pointed his staff and threw another lightning attack and let the darkness dragon crashed on the ground with smoke coming from his body.
The dark dragon stood up and turned around, shocked, but not gravely wounded. He calmly gazed at the blue dragon and asked, "Is that it?"
Axia lightly gulped when he realised that everything did little damage, that nightmarish dragon is extremely powerful and resilient. I will fall first if he managed to corner me, he lightly smiled and answered, "Yes and no."
Tallica chuckled, "Nice return. I am also only starting blue dragon," he opened his wings and charged, trying to get the blue dragon in his claws.
Axia avoided most of the attacks, using the smaller mobility of the darkness dragon, since he was always using the globe to maintain his balance and had to lower his body and stretched everything just to try and get to him. He ducked once again and countered with a ball of energy, going right in the chest, but a darkness dragon shield came and protected the darkness dragon.
The red-haired boy looked at his cousin and said, "You have a smart and agile buddy Baku."
"Yes," he admitted.
"You might start to regret choosing your friends over us eventually," Restu warned.
"I don't. I would have regretted if I joined you. Retsu, I don't understand why you joined them," he commented.
The other boy replied, "I have my reasons Baku," he drew another card, "And it isn't important for you to know."
Kuguru and her two buddies were facing a member of the Purgatory Knights, Chains Sword who gazed at them. He had little interest in Cat Sith and focused more on Iron Chain.
"Where is Purgatory Knight, Demios Sword Dragon?" Chain Sword Dragon asked seriously as he tapped the ground with his sword.
"Gao managed to beat him and he is in the hospital," Kuguru replied.
The darkness dragon closed his eyes, "That explain why Tasuku is against us… Not that I'm surprised. As if he would be a real Purgatory Knight," he opened his eyes and gazed at them with all seriousness.
Iron Chain stepped in, "Maybe he isn't, but we know he is someone with a heart of justice. It has more values than being a-" he blocked the chain sword with his chain.
The Purgatory Knight furiously grunted, "Don't try to tarnish our name dragon! Being a Purgatory Knight is something we take pride in. Even Troubadour is proud of his status as a Purgatory Knight and is fighting Gao as we speak!"
The trio frowned and Kurugu said, "We have to hurry and defeat him!"
"The two of us will beat him," Cat Sith said as he took a step forward.
Iron Chain wanted to tell that stupid cat to let him handle the fight but was nervous about the other dragon. He could feel in that swing that speed and precision was that dragon speciality. Not only that, but also experience, "He is tough."
"I have fought for many centuries and the Purgatory Knights fought for thousands of years! You shouldn't underestimate me blue dragon. Those marks on your scales won't intimidate me."
"I am Ironchain Dragon. You shouldn't underestimate my clan and the power of my tattoos. They aren't for show. And believe me, I won't underestimate you at all," he pushed the chain sword away from him and spun his own weapon and held it in an offensive position.
"And I am Cat Sith," the cat monster drew his sword, "And I'll show you what I can do."
Chain Sword gazed at Cat Sith and managed to hide his expressions and thought about the other monster. He shouldn't insult him when he refused to let his own be insulted, so he put everything bad he wanted to say deep in his throat. His sword split into chains and said, "I'll take both of you on. Come at me."
"Let's do it!" the blue dragon threw his chain towards the gray dragon who grinned.
The Purgatory Knight turned his chain sword into a sword and blocked the attack coming at him. He did the same with the rest of the blue dragon assault with some ease but noticed that the dragon was experienced with the use of his chains. He saw on the side of his vision the cat-like monster coming at him and blocked the sword, before dodging the next attack of Ironchain. He ducked and turned his sword into a chain and threw it at Ironchain while blocking Cat Sith attack with his handle.
Kuguru knew that this Purgatory Knight couldn't be underestimated. The dragon was fast and agile while keeping his surrounding in check. The dragon was always making sure not to be surrounded. Despite that, she knew that their enemy couldn't take the offensive as long as he had to deal with both. She had her spellcard ready for the moment things might go south, does he expect me to use a spellcard at any time? The girl wondered seriously, watching the gray dragon. She saw him giving a few side glances and the answer was obviously yes. She frowned and wondered how she could get him by surprise if he was watching, the only way to get him off guard is by the spell I choose and not when I use it. I must carefully use the right spell card at the right moment.
The battle continued, and no one managed to hit their opponents yet. They were just staggering in the never-ending offensive maneuver against the Purgatory Knight who kept being on the defensive.
The two sides knew that trouble might be coming, depending on how much endurance remained in them. Ironchain was confident in his own ability to fight for a long time, training often with other dragons and his special training with Halberd Sword Dragon but believed that the other dragon might be as enduring as him. What worried the blue dragon was his partner Cat Sith. He didn't know how long he could fight, but knew it wouldn't be if him, as he was often saving his strength when he saw an opportunity to strike or forced the darkness dragon to give up on taking the offensive.
The stalemate situation ended when Chain Sword managed to grab the wrist of Cat Sith and threw him towards the blue dragon. Ironchain managed to catch him at the right time and was almost hit by the sword, but a Blue Dragon Shield saved him.
Ironchain attacked the moment the shield was away and was blocked by the other dragon. Their chains collided against each other's as they failed to pass the guard of the other dragon's. The blue dragon made sure to maintain the pressure while Cat Sith jumped on the ground and waited for the right time to strike again. He didn't thank the dragon, because it was too dangerous to talk right now.
The two dragons continued their assault until Chain Sword Dragon suddenly charged and turned his weapon back into its sword form. He tried to stab the blue dragon, but the chains were in the way.
Ironchain used his chains to attach them around the sword and was pulling with everything he had. The other dragon did the same and it felt as if they were starting to dance together, trying to disarm the other and facilitate the fight.
"You think taking away my sword will help you?" the darkness dragon asked seriously, not panicking at the possibility of being disarmed. He calmly gazed in the eyes of the other dragon's, waiting for an answer.
"Sure. I will take away your range," the blue dragon replied as he avoided a kick.
"Good," he's not thinking that it will greatly help him, but just taking an advantage in range. You were trained well, he pulled harder, knowing for certain that this blue dragon wasn't someone to see as weak.
Ironchain gasped when he was pulled towards the other dragon but used more strength to pull back. He blocked the kicks with his legs and his tail a few times while dodging the others. He almost lost his balance when he was yanked by the other dragon, but Cat Sith came and forced the other dragon to avoid the sword, letting him recover.
The blade of Cat Sith hit the left cheek of the gray dragon, leaving a small wound with a small sip of blood coming out of it.
Chain Sword Dragon grumbled and countered with his tail, whipping the chest of the other monster away and focusing on the blue dragon.
"Cat Sith!" Kuguru exclaimed when her buddy was hurt.
"I'm… okay," the humanoid cat grumbled with his hand over his chest.
The girl focused on her other buddy, ready to use a spell the moment needed.
This battle only began after all.
AC: This is the end of this chapter. Only two more fights to add, but they are going to be less detailed since the two aren't going to be develop that much and adding what's going on with Gao.
