Chapter 150: The Grand Operation Part 6
Halberd was facing another Purgatory Knight who stood in his way. The two dragons faced each other's quietly and said nothing for a while, trying to judge their opponents' action.
Iron Gerg Dragon was spinning his chain as he remained at a safe distance from the other dragon. He lacked wings and knew he had a disadvantage if the other dragon flew in the air, "Where's your buddy?"
"She remained at home. She is too young to put her life at risk," the red dragon simply replied as he pointed his weapon at the other dragon.
"Good… I would have lost any respect for you if you did," he charged and threw his chain at the other dragon who dodged it. The assault continued on the red dragon, "I heard about you. Losing your title and your bond with your own world, just like us."
"No," he ended the assault and began his own, trying to pass the defense while avoiding his weapon to be stuck in the chains, "It was because you were trapped in Darkness Dragon World. I on the other hand was because I betrayed Dragon World to help Jackknife, because I knew he wasn't a criminal, so I fall with him," he breathed fire at the other dragon who blocked it by quickly spinning his weapon.
"Exile," Iron Gerg Dragon grumbled before charging again and aiming for the face of Halberd. The red dragon avoided it at the last second, "Disobedience to your leader is a grave crime."
"One that I was aware off from the start. I knew I would lose everything," he admitted. He grumbled when he received a violent blow in the gut and was send away. He landed on his feet and saw the other dragon lightly frowning at him.
"I lost some respect for you Thunder Knight. I wasn't expecting that betrayal to be the source of your misery, but you don't try to lie about it or reject the fault on others," he continued his attack and failed to pass the shield of the other dragon.
"I value life of others above my leaders. I serve the people and if helping someone who stopped a massacred was a crime, then I'll do it again," he smashed his shield on the snout of the Purgatory Knight and followed with a kick on the chest, sending the gray dragon far away and let him span on the ground.
Iron Gerg Dragon stood up and cracked his bones, "I admit I know little of your crimes and reason, but loyalty to your leader comes first," he gazed at Tasuku, "And the boy joining you is betrayal."
"If he stayed with you, he would have betrayed his sense of justice and righteousness!" the red dragon replied.
He grinned, "That's why I'm not angry or surprised," he threw his weapon and the tip of his chain bounced on the top of the shield and smashed the left cheek of the Thunder Knight, "He is a little like you after all. So young thought."
Halberd spit some blood, "I'll get serious now."
"Me too."
The two dragons charged and used everything they had in their assault.
Meanwhile, Takihara and his buddy Card Burn were busy trying to hold up against a few other darkness dragon's. The man did notice that the other Purgatory Knights didn't engage in the fight but were simply watching right now. The man wondered why but was still focusing on the battle.
The reasons the other Purgatory Knights weren't fighting was obvious, they wanted to have a fair fight and with their numbers against the Buddy Police Force, they weren't pushed into battle as their sense of honor go against outnumbering their enemies. They took pride in their power, not in dirty battles.
His buddy handled his adversaries well. He was always on the move and made sure that he was never surrounded. He always used his ability to make sure that no one tried to target his buddy and the only time he happened, he shot a beam on the back of that dragon and it was one enemy he didn't have to worry about.
The other darkness dragons saw him as their main enemies. Card Burn knew that they weren't the strongest, or he would have been in bigger trouble than he was. He wondered if those recently came or not. Form what his optics were seeing, there wasn't more dragons coming. It was mostly the elites and those dragons, The Purgatory Knight wouldn't fight against humans directly, so this is surely why they were here, the hero monster thought as he blocked their claws which failed to pierce his metallic body.
He fired missiles at them and a two failed to avoid his attack and were blasted away, before being quickly finished off by a spell used by Takihara. The monster from Hero World quickly counted how many remained and saw that only five of them from the eight he had to deal with at the start remained. He clearly saw their morale decreasing as one of them gazed at the remaining Purgatory Knights.
Takihara followed the gaze and saw the dragon knights negatively nodding, uninterested in entering in the fight right now.
The battle continued and Card Burn claimed victory after victory, taking no damaged against each of them with his buddy supporting him from a distance. The more the darkness dragons were demoralized, the easier it was to deal with them.
Takihara thought, I believe that one of the Purgatory Knight will fight soon. He stood up and seems ready to join the fight when the last one is down. I must make sure that my buddy is unwounded. He needs to be at his best against them. As a member of the Buddy Police Force, I cannot be left behind in this battle. I am an adult and I must perform with everything I have. Can't let the kids think I'm new anymore. I am now a true Buddyfighter and with Card Burn, we won't let justice lose against any criminals!
Card Burn finished the last one and when he turned around, he heard his buddy yelled, "Get ready!"
He blocked the attack of a Purgatory Knight and knew that his real fight began now.
Gao and his buddy searched for Kyoya and Azi Dahaka, searching for a way to end this once and for all.
Drum sniffed the air and found their stench, "That way!" he pointed at a door.
Gao opened it and they went inside. They saw Kyoya sitting in the room with his buddy by his side gazing at them.
"Welcome Gao. It's a pleasure to meet again," the white hair boy stood up as he said those words without any sarcasm. Kyoya had respect for Gao and nothing else.
"We found you," the boy replied to the older one as he took a step forward.
"We know why you came here Gao Mikado," the three-headed dragon said as he stood up and looked at them, "You came to stop us from conquering the world. Which is pretty much what we are doing," he admitted, it was pointless to deny.
"Not trying to deceive us?" Drum frowned.
"Pointless. You have Tasuku and Kiri back with you, who both knew what my plans are. You also have some proof, enough to search anything to arrest us legally Fang Shade Terrestrial The XIV. I'm not stupid enough to try and deny them. Why do you think we are fighting you right now?" Azi answered without hesitation as he waved his left hand to emphasize it, he then added, to annoy the red dragon, "Surely not because we simply wanted too right?"
Drum grunted and wanted to reply, but Gao took a step forward.
"Anyway. We are not here to talk," the white-haired boy declared as he also stood up, "You are here to arrest us and we don't intent to comply."
It was obviously the case.
Drum hid any trace of nervousness in facing the dark dragon, leader of his own world.
"We will not fight here Gao. Come, we need space if we don't want to destroy the city," he walked outside of the room with his dark dragon buddy, "There is too many good people in town that don't deserve to die."
The duo hesitated before following them. Gao agreed that safety was something important and knowing Azi Dahaka power, it would probably blow up a city or two if they went all out. The boy had one question as they went to their battleground, "Kyoya. Why are you helping Azi Dahaka?"
"Why are you selling your own world like that?" the red dragon asked in a less polite manner.
Kyoya grunted, "This world barely has value right now," which prevented the other two from replying. The boy gazed at them, "Our world is divided Gao. The planet is covered by selfish and cruel people who control the world and do whatever they want with it. There are so many wars for so many reasons. Compared to other worlds, ours is the worst. There is people like you, Tasuku, your other friends and even Hinako, but none of them can change the world for the better. Gandhi, for example, tried peacefully, but his name is tarnished by his own people," the boy showed his lack of faith in his own kind, "There is no hope to change on our own. Azi Dahaka promised that he could do something to help us go away from our own self-destructive behavior. I believe in him more than anyone."
"I want to unite you all under my flag Gao. When the world will be in my control, there won't be war amongst yourself, as I'll be at the top," the dark dragon concluded, "Stopping us will condemn your own kind."
"Why-"
"I lost my parents during the conflict in Kyoto! They both die by the Americans who intervene in a inside conflict and turned this into massive chaos for an entire month before order came back! Americans just had to put their nose in Japan and turned everything into a carnage! They think they can do whatever they want!"
Gao remembered a little about it. It happened in Kyoto and there was a massive conflict between the government and a group he knew nothing about. His parents didn't want to talk about it and only guessed it was horrible, but Kyoya was there.
Despite that, Gao wouldn't back down his own belief. That's why he was there, "Even so, I will stop you Kyoya."
"Good people like you won't change belief easily Gao, just like me," the white-haired boy commented.
They reached another room and the boy opened the door.
The four entered in there and it was only a small room, clearly inappropriate for a battle.
The red dragon knew where this was going as Azi Dahaka said, "I must thank you for accepting to follow us. I know it might seems like a terrible idea, but both of your options were bad. Someone will send us in the same arena we fought than before and we will bring you two down."
Kyoya took out his deck case and it turned into the eye of the Dark Core with four dragon wings surrounding it.
It was then that the world around them warped and it became the same arena where Azi and The Punisher fought before.
Drum was getting nervous as the battle was about to begin. Since they were in the arena, it wouldn't be possible to get help. They two were on their own.
Azi Dahaka turned into his gigantic real form. He looked down at them and said, "I will commend your braveries you two. I wouldn't expect anything else from you," the three heads twitched, "I was expecting Tenbu to be with you and witness your defeat. Unless he has absolute confidence in your victory," they frowned, "I can believe that."
"Are you ready Drum," the boy took out his card, "We have to go all out on them."
"I'm ready Gao. There is no turning back now. We are going to win this battle!" the red dragon yelled, pumping himself up.
The four faced each other's, ready for the battle.
AC: This is the end of this chapter.
Next will be the first part of the battle between Drum and Azi Dahaka.
