Chapter 151: The Grand Operation Part 7

Drum faced the darkness dragon in all his glory and held back any sign of fear. He knew that this dragon defeated The Punisher, the second most powerful dragons he knew in Dragon World. The red dragon knew that a mistake or underestimating Azi Dahaka would mean his demise. His hands clenched on his drill as he took a step forward, he looked in the eyes of his adversary, as he picked the middle head, or it would be overwhelming to look in the eyes of the dark dragon.

Azi moved his hand towards the red dragon and taunted him, "Come Fang Slade Terrestrial The XIV. We should wait for too long right?"

"Let's go Gao!" Drum said.

Gao took out a card and used it, "Let's do this! Drum! Super Armored Dragon Form!"

The red dragon felt a surge of energy inside of him as his armor transformed and covered most part of his body. The armor remained mostly similar in its form, but it was thicker and left little place for his scales to come out. At the same time, his drill felt a little heavier and was sharper. Despite that, Drum didn't feel overconfident. The thought of making a fatale mistake was making him still uneasy, I must win. For Gao, he told himself.

Azi Dahaka gazed at the dragon and commented, "You have the aura of your father right now. A powerful one indeed. We once fought when he wore this armor and barely managed to defeat me," he swiped his right hand and aimed at the red dragon who jumped in the air, passing between the large fingers of the darkness dragon. He activated his drill and charge at the Darkness Dragon and aimed for the face. He quickly crossed the distance, but a Darkness Dragon Shield appeared and stopped his attack. He managed to retreat to a safe distance at the last second and landed on the ground. He ducked and avoided the black tail of his enemy and did a back flip as he avoided a kick.

He is not fighting me seriously right now. He is testing me, Drum quickly realised as he prepared his next attack, I must wound him as much as I can before he takes me seriously.

"Aren't you joining the fight?" Gao asked Kyoya.

"I would, but with our buddies, I prefer to stand back. I suggest you do the same Gao," the boy replied as he took out another card from his deck, preparing his next spellcard.

Kyoya was right about standing back. Azi Dahaka could easily step on one human and end his life like that. They were currently just hands from the perspective of the three-headed dark dragon. A direct battle between the two humans was the worse option, so they had to remain on the side.

Gao did the same and took his spellcard, ready to counter anything that the other boy might have ready for them.

Drum kept avoiding the large swing that the other dragon used on him and it was often a close one. The dark dragon was quick despite his size, avoiding the red dragon's drill when it came towards him. Drum deactivated his drill and charged on foot, unsure if it was a better idea, but he had to test the other dragon before really making a strategy. He slid when the large tail came at him and kept his charge, dodging the foot as he passed under him. Then, he activated the thrusters of his drill and charged from behind, making sure that Azi couldn't face him. When he was close, the drill hit the neck of the middle head and tried to pierce the scale, but no matter how sharp it was, it only created a small wound. He avoided the two heads of the darkness dragon when they tried to bite him. He slid on the back of Azi Dahaka and used his drill to fly away when the darkness dragon tried to whip him with his tail.

Drum landed on the ground and avoided other attacks coming at him. He looked in the air and saw Azi ready to crush him with a blast of energy coming from his three mouths. The red dragon yelled as he activated his thrusters and avoided it at the last second. He landed on the ground and looked at the blast left by his enemy. There was a large hole and that made Drum jaw opened, how am I going to win against him?

"I'll fight more seriously now," the ruler of Darkness Dragon World said with some disappointment in his voice.

The red dragon suddenly felt nervous about the fact that Azi Dahaka was going to show what he could really do right now. Drum felt a hint of despair in his heart as the thought of his weapon, failing to pierce the scales of the bigger dragon. It only inflicted a minor wound on the back of the neck, I should have aimed for the eye, he thought back as he braced himself.

"Don't worry Drum. You are not alone," the boy told his friend.

"Yes," he nodded as he prepared to continue the battle.

"It's a shame that a boy as powerful as you had a buddy as weak as him," the darkness dragon stated.

"H-hey!" the red dragon in question yelled.

"Gao. You have great potential, but your buddy is limiting your ability," Kyoya added.

"Look at your buddy. He couldn't really hurt me. So far from the strength of his father when we fought against each other's. A simple punch from Fang Slade Terrestrial The XIII could made me barf and it happened," they said as they locked their eyes at the Sun Fighter, "And his drill could pierce my scales as nothing. I was expecting more from his son, but I am… surprised at how weak he is," they concluded.

Drum frowned and wanted to reply, but it was the true. He couldn't compare himself to his father. He was not like him.

"So, what?" Gao replied as he prepared himself to support Drum, "Drum is like me. We are young, and we can always improve ourselves. Drum is my friend and I believe in him, just as he believes in me. Azi, we are going to defeat you!" he pointed his finger at the darkness dragon.

Azi Dahaka laughed loudly while his buddy chuckled at the declaration. The battle right now couldn't prove Gao's words, "And you can say that so seriously Gao Mikado. I really doubt it."

Drum bravely glared at his enemy and said, "Even if I can't win, I will fight until the end. If I give up, then I really cannot be the buddy of the Mighty Sun Fighter," he activated the thrusters of his drill and charged again.

The ruler of Darkness Dragon World didn't intent to let him have another chance. He felt generous enough to hold back this boring fight for this long. He suddenly used his hand to trap the red dragon in his grasp, but his hand bounced on the green dragon shield used by Gao. That broke his momentum and realised that his left foot was being drilled. The dragon jumped in the air and didn't see the dragon below. He felt pain on his foot and saw that the drill was still drilling his feet, where the Achilles' tendon was. He tried to grab the dragon once again but failed as the dragon passed between his large fingers and bounced on the middle toe of his right feet before taking some distance and landing on the ground. Azi landed on the ground and felt only little pain on his left feet. The darkness dragon realised that he avoided some trouble if his tendon was damaged in the fight, so he increased his guard from now on. He chuckled, "Not too bad Fang Slade Terrestrial The XIV, but not enough."

He opened his three mouth and let out three balls of darkness that fused into one, before throwing it a Drum. The darkness dragon didn't say it, but he was holding back, knowing the promised he made with Tenbu. Killing any of them will cost his life and he wouldn't give up his life or any of his plans will be pointless before they could really start.

Drum saw it coming and the blast was blocked by another green dragon shield. The red dragon gazed at his buddy and the boy nodded at him.

"Don't worry Drum. I got your back," Gao said.

"Death Damage!" Kyoya said as he used his spell card.

Drum saw a strange thing coming at him with a scythe and aimed at him. The red dragon was slashed on his chest and painfully grunted when it pierced his armor and got him in the gut. The wound wasn't deep, but it was still painful as the thing disappeared from his sight. The red dragon knew it was a spellcard and he was almost gutted like nothing. He ignored his pain and prepared his counter attack.

"You're okay?"

"Don't worry. It's not deep Gao. We still have to win this."

"You believe you can beat my buddy Drum?" Kyoya asked with a small grin, "You already see the difference of power right. Azi is still holding back."

The red dragon grunted as he decided to give his all.

"I won't hold anything back anymore The XIV," Azi Dahaka declared seriously.

Drum saw the darkness dragon quickly coming at him, despite his enormous size. Azi threw a punch on the red dragon, but that dragon flew above it and aimed for the face.

Drum passed between the fangs of the other dragon at the last dragon, smelling a bit of Azi Dahaka breath. Smelt wine for some reason. He made a sharp turn as he avoided the grasp of the darkness dragon.

"Death Grasp!"

He heard Kyoya using a spell and saw a skeleton hand coming at him. He avoided it at the last second, feeling the skeletal fingers on the tip of his tail, way too close!

He saw the darkness dragon about to breath his attack when his buddy yelled, "Dragon Breath!"

And fire burned the face of the ruler of Darkness Dragon World. The son of Fang Slade Terrestrial The XIV didn't lose a second and went to the offensive. He aimed for the throat with his drill but was slapped off. He lost control and crashed against a wall of the arena surrounding them and landed on his feet at the last second. The red dragon painfully grunted. He managed to stand up and ignored the pain weighting him down. He looked in the three pair of eyes of the darkness dragon, I am fighting against three minds in one body, he remembered. He grabbed his drill and was once again ready.

Azi Dahaka charged and aimed to the chest with his large claws but missed the target who jumped on his arm and dashed to his face. They grinned as they tried to bite him, but the dragon passed between their fangs with easy, as they were trying to make sure it wouldn't kill the red dragon as the sacred promise forced him.

The red dragon aimed for the throat of the left head and smashed it, trying to pierce it. He just caused an annoying wound before he took some distance from them.

They continued their assault as none of them managed to hit one another. Their buddies casted a few spells to protect or attack the other dragons and were ready for the next wave as the duo split.

The darkness dragon was starting to get annoyed as he saw the two humans about to cast their next spell. He decided to show them what he could really do.

"Prepare yourself Fang Slade Terrestrial The XIV. Because this is going to hurt much more than you believe!" He summoned energy to each of his hands, mouths and the one that formed on the middle of his belly, between the fang of his armor. The level of energy increased, and it made the red dragon shivered.

"This is insane!" the red dragon yelled as he felt overwhelmed by the sheer manifestation of the attack.

"Farewell! Erasure Of History!" he released his power and made blast of darkness went towards the red dragon.

Drum saw the blast was going around him and left him with no possible escape. He knew he couldn't brace the impact. The red dragon yelled as the attack approached him, believing that it was his doom.
