Chapter 152: The Grand Operation Part 8

A blue dragon shield appeared and saved Jackknife from a dark blast that was coming to his face. The green dragon then flew upward and countered with a fireball, coming out of his mouth. His attack missed Deathgaze, but his charge was about to hit the darkness dragon when a darkness dragon shield saved the monster from the impact. Jackknife felt his shoulder a little sore but took his distance as he avoided the claws of the darkness dragon.

Meanwhile, Davide continued to provoke the other human, "I thought you were going to arrest me Tasuku. Keep this up like that and you are just going to cry like the little kid you are."

The boy held his tears as he clenched his hands. He glared at the other one but managed to keep his fury inside of him, "Enough Davide. I am tired of you."

The other one grinned, "Why should I stop? You are going to lose this fight. Right you little backstabber."

"What did you say?" Tasuku yelled.

"You backstab both your buddies. Jackknife and Demios," the boy grinned as he crossed his arms, a spellcard in his hand, "I think you are the type of boy who will backstab his buddies if he sees fit. You are finding me horrible. Look at yourself. You betray everyone around you, but I didn't. I'm still a member of Disaster."

The blue haired boy yelled, "I-" but didn't say anything else, I made a mistake. That's why I hurt both dragons. Both were good compare to you Davide. You are only with Disasters because you have what you want out of them. If it wasn't the case… I know you would have left them, he was certain of it.

"Tasuku!" Jackknife yelled, "It doesn't matter what you did before," he avoided the attacks of the other dragon, but got wounded a few times as he split his attention, "I know who you really are and so is Demios! Davide knows nothing about you and just say things to hurt you! What you did before isn't important! You are still you! Everything you did was for what you believe is the best!"

Tasuku lightly smiled, "You're right Jack!"

Davide frowned, not liking how the boy recovered. He gasped when something strange was starting to go on, "H-hey!"

"Don't bother Davide," he looked in the eyes of the other boy, "Because my buddy says the true. I made many mistakes in the past. I hurt both of my buddies because of my foolishness decision. However, it was always to help everyone. All was in the name of justice. I don't care why you did it, because you like to hurt others. What I did will never go away," the blue hair of the boy slowly grew longer, "Because right now. Jack and I are fighting for the future of our world," I'll never forget my horrible mistake, but I'll make sure to never make another one again! He looked at Davide with conviction as his hair grew even longer. Tasuku felt that his power was surging inside of him. Something was going on right now, but it wasn't the time for this. He drew a spellcard that shined brighter than before, "We will save our world from Azi Dahaka!"

Jackknife gazed at his buddy and noticed the long air. Not only that, but everything about Tasuku was different.

For a flash of a moment, the green dragon saw the boy he considered his son as an adult. He saw Tasuku fully grown up, confident and with his heart forged by the desire to help others. That desire felt more mature than his previous one. The boy was now a man, a man who seemed to be the leader of the Buddy Police Force.

Am I seeing the future… or an hallucination?, the green dragon wondered.

The dragon was now back to the present and saw his buddy back to normal. The only difference was that his hair was longer, to his confusion. He saw Tasuku taking out a card and said, "Davide. We'll show you what we can really do. Jackknife, Gold Ritter," he activated his spellcard.

The green dragon started to change form as his power increased. His armor was now a golden one. He had large golden spikes on his shoulders and the blade on his head looked more like a sword attached to his helmet. His wings were protected under by purple metallic wings.

The green dragon remembered that he used it long ago and it was something costly for him. He never used it unless he was under dangerous situations. Just using the spellcard was costly for him. It was simply an armor to call when it is his last chance. He gazed at his buddy and saw that the boy wasn't exhausted at all.

Deathgaze charged and yelled, "A new armor won't change anything!" His claws missed the target and a flash of green went above him.

Jackknife grunted with a more predatory voice, "Fall!" and with his tail, whip the back of the darkness dragon and sent him on the ground. He pointed his blade and charged, ready to impale his enemy, but a darkness dragon shield protected Deathgaze at the last second. The green dragon lost his balance and rolled on the ground.

Tasuku casted Dragon Breath and flame came to the darkness dragon, but the shield came to protect the dragon. The darkness started to crack under the power of the spell.

Davide face paled as he saw that, "W-what?"

"Impossible!" Deathgazed yelled.

Jackknife was at a lost of words, but he focused on the fight. He had to wait for the right moment to strike. He prepared himself to strike. He waited for the shield to break, I never saw a spell so powerful that it could overpowered another spell like that. The only way you have been with an Impact Card. I could feel the power from my buddy thought, the green dragon understood why Demios was interested with his buddy, you saw his true potential, or Azi Dahaka told you about it… But your feelings for him were always genuine, he was ready to win this fight and try to help Gao and his buddy.

The defensive spell of Davide broke and the green dragon charged. His blade pierced the gut of the darkness dragon who tried to counter with his claws, but it couldn't pierce the armor. He tried to aim around it, but the green dragon was already out of range.

Davide and Deathgaze face were paled as they could clearly see they were overwhelmed by the boy's power.

"Do something Davide!" the darkness dragon yelled, showing that he was panicking.

What do I do? I caused this… nothing came to his mind and he tried to use an offensive spell, but it was quickly countered by Tasuku.

The boy realised that their battle was officially one sided. Jackknife and his buddy had the advantage.

Phoenix painfully grunted as he took some distance from the dark skeletal dragon with the marks of claws on his chest. He grunted as he held back his anger. Kazane was starting to get nervous as she picked another spellcard and looked in the eyes of Sophia.

The white-haired girl remained calm and cold as at the beginning of the fight. She was simply looked at the orange haired girl, "You are doing a lot better than what Reaper said."

"His name is Kiri," Kazane corrected her.

Sophia simply nodded at that reply, "I never learned his real name. When I met him, it was always Reaper."

"I bet you like to be called Ice Queen right!" Asmodai yelled far away.

The white-haired girl frowned at that reply but focused her their battle. She had no time for petty arguments with a pink demon who never seemed to take everything seriously.

The green bird monster took some altitude as he ignored the pain on his chest. His wings used the air to increase his altitude even more, I cannot lose this fight. If I cannot win, then how can I protect lady Kazane!

He turned around and waited for Gallows to join him. When the darkness dragon was close, magical crossbow appears and fired at the darkness dragon who was hit by them.

The darkness dragon frowned with his purple eyes. He glared at the girl and grunted, "That girl is annoying for sure," he grabbed one of the bolt stuck in his gut and pull it out.

"Do not disrespect lazy Kazane!" the danger world monster warned him as he crossed his wings.

"And what are you going to-"

Phoenix threw his sharp feathers on the darkness dragon and caused many small wounds. Once of his feather even hit a bolt of the magical crossbow. That bolt went deeper in his dark flesh.

"Argh!" he yelled as he saw red, "I'll destroy you!"

He aimed for the green monster, but that monster just turned around and kept his distance. Gallows tried to hit the other monster, but any of his attacks either failed to reach him or the other one just flew out of the way. The darkness dragon grew more and more furious at this. Then, he had a moment of clarity in his situation. He stopped chasing the other dragon, realising it was useless and was only exhausting himself, I can't believe I just lost my cool like that. It never really happened like that before. Damn! I miss that coward of a boy!

Gallows grabbed his hands together and focused his energy on it. Slowly, he expanded his hands as only his fingers remained in contact. In the middle of his hands, a dark ball was slowly starting to form. His hands separated form each other's more and more until the dark ball turned into a large one. He looked in the eyes of Phoenix as he said, "This is the end for you!" he then bent his arms backwards before throwing his dark ball of energy right at the other monster.

Phoenix saw this coming at him and tried to avoid it. He wasn't fast enough and saw it coming directly at him.

"Holy Grail!"

The defensive spell of his buddy came and partially blocked the attack. The remaining of it still exploded on contact with his body. The green bird started losing altitude and painfully grunted.

He saw a skeletal grip coming at him and knew that Sophia threw that spell. Another Holy Grail appeached and the hand grabbed it instead of him, Kazane. You don't give up, he looked at her and saw the resolve in her eyes. She wasn't showing sign of fear, but still, she was worried for him, if you don't give up, so am I!

He turned around and countered with his talons at the dark monster coming at him, he slashed the face and left a mark on the skull, "I am not down yet Gallows!"

"Dammit," Gallows grunted. He frowned as he released his vines from his back, but the other monster avoided it, "Just go down already! You do realise it is futile to stand against Azi Dahaka!"

"Futile for you, but for lady Kazane and her friends, it is not! Standing against him is not futile, he won't ever manage to conquer another world," Phoenix replied.

"Even if it's for the best?" Sophia asked as she crossed her arms.

"What do you mean?" Kazane asked.

"Our world is divided Kazane. Azi Dahaka is the only one who can unite it," Sophia answered without giving any detail.

"You might not believe that humans can do better, but even if they are not united as one, I will protect this world. It is not for others to solve their problems, but themselves," Phoenix replied.

"Phoenix told me that no worlds were united as one until someone of their own world truly did something about it. Earth will be the same and I believe it," Kazane replied.

"I don't think so," Sophia cold reply came.

The two buddies charged, and the battle resumed.

AC: That will be all for their battle, I don't want to drag this out and I don't know how to correctly end it, so they could escape at the end.

Next part will be Testuya and Kiri's fight.

Another news is that I am starting to prepare a story in the same universe of Earth Battlefield, but it will be a darker story than this one and on a smaller scale. It will feature mostly OC in that story. It will develop much slower than this one and it will be in my free time.

That story is: Buddyfight Death Game

The two main Characters are ready.

Izagi Sato and his buddy Death Gunner SoulReaper (Isn't a dragon) who will enter in the game.

Here's the initial design I have in mind. Can be changed.

Izagi Sato: He was a boy with peach skin, short black hair and black eyes. He wore a black jacket over his red shirt and black pants. He wore pale blue headphone.

Death Gunner SoulReaper: Real Form: He was a muscular humanoid monster with pale yellow skin, with a pair of black horns on his forehead, purple hair, large fangs over his lips, white eyes and a long silver tail covered with black spikes. He wore a skull mask, a black breast plate on his chest and crimson chains covering his waist. He wore a large carbine on his back and a small mini scythe on his waist. He also wore a black gauntlet on his left arm.

SD Form: He became a shadow on his buddy. His appearance is the same but looks like a silhouette.

Bonus intel: He is the original habitant of Darkness Dragon World, before the darkness dragons were exile there.
