Gao watched his buddy ready to fight with everything he got. He heard the dragons and their great battle turned into a duel. The child didn't think of the why and how. They still had to win this. That was if his buddy was still willing to have his help.
"Drum," he asked.
The red dragon turned his flaming head towards his buddy. He gave out a small smile, "We are in this together until the very end Gao. Looks like this battle will be less important for us, but I'm ready for it. Somehow, I feel more alive than before."
"You can count on me Drum."
Kyoya lightly frowned at it. He didn't complain, as the end goal was still depending on the victory of his buddy.
"My apologies Kyoya but I cannot contain my excitement. I even spoke too much," they told him.
The boy took out a spell card and replied, "With everything you did, I don't mind this personal fun," he lightly smiled, I doesn't really matter anyway. We will win this battle.
The two dragons let out a loud grunt as they charged.
Chapter 155: The Impact Of The Future
The red dragon opened his burning wings and took the sky. He was as fast as when he used the thrusters of his drill. He passed between the claws and fangs of the darkness dragon and gave a kick. That sent one head flying away at the impact, but the dark tail of the dragon smashed on the flamed dragon. Drum was sent against a wall and crashed inside of it, before quickly coming out of it.
His drill activated and it was ready to fire a large spiral fire. He pressed a switch and fired it on the face of the darkness dragon. It exploded on impact on the chest of the other dragon who resisted it and countered with a powerful dark beam.
Drum avoided it at the last second and quickly gained altitude in the air. He spun around and charged on the other dragon. He avoided more attacks coming at him, but he blocked an attack with his drill. With little time he had for his offensive, he resorted to a kick in the middle of the giant dragon's gut.
Azi Dahaka felt the impact. They were winded by the blow and felt the little red dragon sinking deeper into their gut. It took a while before before the dark dragon was sent against the wall of the arena and painfully yelled. The three-headed dragon felt on his knees and coughed loudly as they tried to grasp air. They looked at the flamed dragon with a large grin, "N-" they coughed, "Not bad."
The other dragon avoided a spell from Kyoya and the other spell was blocked by Gao's Blue Dragon Shield.
Kyoya frowned when his spell was blocked by the Blue Dragon Shield. It was different from before. It felt like it was harder and more resilient than the usual one, so he did awaken his true power, the boy thought.
The two dragons continued their battle as they tried to beat each other's up. The two dragons had to endure powerful and violent blows from their enemies, but none of them backed down. They continued violently hitting each other's or avoiding more damage. Their bloods splashed on each blow, but their energy felt limitless.
The dragons laughed loudly at the true battle they experienced. Their fight was on an entire level than any they felt before.
For the first time, Drum thought that his father must have felt that way when he fought against Azi Dahaka and probably his mother too. This real fight was one of passion, to show which of them was them most powerful one.
Which one would dominate the others? That lingering question was in the minds of the dragons. It was one that they would respond with their powers.
Drum breathed a powerful beam of fire towards Azi Dahaka who countered with a beam of his own. The two impacted and a big explosion covered the entire arena with smoke.
The two humans coughed as the smoke was thick. It wasn't long before it dispersed as the two dragons kept fighting with everything they had in their body.
The darkness dragon crushed the red dragon with his palm. Blood came out in the small openings left by his large fingers. It wasn't long before the drill came out from the back of the dark dragon left hand. The giant dragon furiously yelled in pain, before he threw the other dragon on the wall of the arena. He checked on his wound and chuckled. The drill pierced him like it was a thin piece of paper.
Meanwhile, Gao drew one card in his hand. He looked at it and recognised it, why did I pick this card? He thought back about it. It was not an ordinary spellcard, but the Impact Card. He remembered the warnings of Axia. The Impact Card asked much more energy from any other cards. If anyone tried to use it, it will completely drain them. Since he was the source of it, it will kill him if he was completely drained. Even so, he somehow knew he could do it. Right now, he felt like he had no trouble to even doubt the possibility. An Impact Card was a spell that had to be used in extreme situation. It's a do or die one. The last measure to assure victory. He looked at his buddy. The red dragon looked fine, but Gao saw him panting a little and was wounded. Blood came from the dragon's nostrils and his mouth. The boy checked on the darkness dragon and it was the same. The difference was that Azi looked like they had much more endurance than Drum, even in his new form. The red dragon couldn't handle the fight much longer.
Now was that time. It was time to end this fight, "Drum!" he showed his card.
The red dragon gasped at the sighed of it, "The- You shouldn't-"
"I can do it Drum! Believe me! Everything will be fine!" the boy smiled.
The red dragon nodded, "I believe you too then!"
The boy raised his spellcard and yelled, "Impact Card! Gargantua Punisher!" the card started to shine brightly.
Azi Dahaka and Kyoya heard it well. They could feel the energy coming from the card.
Drum prepared his drill to finish this fight.
The white-haired boy took out his defensive spellcard, ready to protect his buddy.
A giant dragon hand appeared form the sky as it pierced the ground. The hand looked like it was made of rock. It dragged out a giant sword and they could feel the power coming out of it.
Gao felt his power getting drained out of his body and was already getting a little tired. The Impact Card just finished the first phase.
Azi Dahaka could easily stopped it, but it would take the risk of killing the boy and breaking the vow. The darkness dragon wondered if Tenbu planned this moment, well played Tenbu, they lightly grinned. They cursed the damn old dragon and prepared to resist the impact. They wouldn't accept to fall against it. If they resisted it, they win.
The giant hand swung its sword and it aimed for the ruler of darkness dragon world. A Darkness Dragon Shield appeared and blocked the impact.
"We will not lose!" Kyoya grunted as his power was quickly drained just from blocking it.
Drum Bunker Dragon activated his drill and decided to help his buddy passing the shield. He charged and his weapon hit the Darkness Dragon Shield. The drill spin at maximal speed.
The shield was cracking under the pressure. The white-haired boy painfully grunted as he felt on his knees. He didn't give up and resisted with everything he had. He felt some blood coming out of his nose but didn't mind. He wouldn't back down.
Azi Dahaka crossed his arms, ready to resist the collective attack coming at them.
Gao felt his energy drained even more. He wasn't sure how long he could keep it up. The giant sword had problem to remain solid and seemed to be ready to turn into energy.
The shield broke under the collective power and Kyoya felt on the ground, panting loudly.
Azi was ready to block as he grinned. They could block it. They knew they could. A fireball hit his left arm and sent it away. They couldn't block the Gargantua Punisher. It was too close now. The ruler of Darkness Dragon World saw it turning into energy instead of its solid form. They grinned, congratulation.
The Impact Card hit them, and the energy was burning their scales. The three heads screamed in agony. The pain was too intense, no matter how resilient they were.
After a few more seconds, Gao was out of energy and the effect of the Impact ended. The boy felt on the ground and panted loudly.
Azi Dahaka had smokes coming from every part of their body. The smoke was intense, and their eyes were only emitting a small light. They were out of energy. They felt on their back and a loud sound resonated in the arena. The monster panted loudly, still alive and conscious. The grin on their faces were still present, even with the pain.
Kyoya looked at his buddy and grunted, we lost. We lost! Everything! Everything for nothing! He tried to calm down. He tried too. It was really hard. They were getting close and now, everything felt apart. The boy knew what would come when his buddy interrupted his thought.
"That was a great battle you two," the dark dragon admitted. They couldn't move their body, "I clearly underestimated you two. That is one defeat… I can enjoy."
"It's over. You are all going to jail," Drum said as he turned back into his original form and armor. The dragon realised it and was a little confused but said nothing.
"I have a…" Azi Dahaka took a deep breath, "Really big confession to make."
Drum was taken aback by it. He never thought this would come.
"You defeated us. You showed your true powers. I will hold my words, but hear me," the head closer to his buddy looked at the boy. Kyoya crossed the eyes, uncertain, "Please."
The three others had no words. The ruler said a word they never expected. The buddy of Azi began to understand where it was going. The red eyes of that head remained fixed on his buddy.
The Darkness dragon coughed loudly and said, "I am the only one who planned everything. Everyone else are just my pawns. Manipulated by my words and my power as my own puppets. All of the humans, just like Tasuku and M- Kiri," the dragon took a deep breath and coughed again, "Their buddies followed them. Just like… Joker," he weakly and painfully laughed, "And Kyoya. Vulnerable. Easy to use. Resting in my palms. The perfect puppet."
The white-haired boy gasped as he tried to yell something.
The powerful voice of Azi Dahaka covered him, "My perfect puppet!" before coughing loudly.
Kyoya tried to stand up, to say something, but the red eyes of the darkness dragon never left him.
Drum watched this. He knew it right now what was going on. What the true was, you are covering for your buddy Azi. You care for Kyoya. Darkness Dragon are all evil weirdos.
Gao looked at Drum and whispered, "Drum?"
"It's almost over. End the battle outside Azi Dahaka," the red dragon said. He looked at his buddy and nodded, "We'll accept your 'true'."
The ruler of Darkness Dragon World sighed in relief. Small smile on his face.
Soon, the great battle came to an end.
AC: This is the end of this chapter. The next one will be the beginning of the epilogue and will have more narration than characters dialogue. I kinda want to speed up a little the ending. I'm a little tired of this season and excited to finish the preparation of the next one. I will still make sure to wrap everything.
I'll be a little busy next week, so it will be another two weeks before the next chapter. Don't worry, there is nothing planned for the next month, so it will be the last time for a while.
The Epilogue is also kinda big since it also must be used as a set-up for the Yamigedo Seasib.
