Kiri visited Gao at the hospital and stood in front of the door. His buddy was by his side and said, "Don't be nervous Kiri. We have to say our good-byes before we return home."
"I know," the boy closed his eyes and thought, I wish I didn't have to move out, "Let's go."
They entered in the room and saw Gao and his buddy. Both weren't in a good mood and it was clear why. They had homework's to catch on.
"I had this reward for saving the Earth," the red dragon grumbled.
"They could have waited until were out of here," his buddy agreed. Gao noticed his friend and said, "Hi Kiri! You came early today," he smiled.
"Yes Gao. I just came to say good-bye," the blue-haired boy replied.
Gao quickly understood why, "You are already returning home?"
"Yes. I didn't ask dad permission, but he understood when I told him what happened to me. So I have to go as soon as possible. Anyway, I came for a last visit."
"Glad you came Kiri," Gao said.
"We don't want this visit to leave all of us cold of course," Joker bowed to them.
The four talked together for a while and eventually, the boy had to leave. He waved his friend good-bye and went out of the room.
Kiri felt as if he had done everything. This time, it wasn't that painful to leave his friend. He knew that he will meet Gao again one day. He was certain of it. He wouldn't be sad this time.
His buddy was by his side and the boy managed to forgive himself from what he had done to him. He still felt the pain, but knew it wasn't his fault. Joker repeated it to him so many times that it stuck in it.
Chapter 157: Epilogue: Part 2
The next day, Kiri walked to the train station, ready to return home. The duo waited for the train to come at the station.
"So, you are both leaving," someone told them.
The two turned around and saw Rouga with his buddy Cerberus by his side.
The ice monster took a step forward and said, "Yes. And we are not in the mood for a battle. Ours is over. Unless you can't cool down and let it go," he chuckled.
Cerberus grunted, but his buddy smirked, "It isn't about it. It was a draw. I have to admit Kiri, that you were much stronger than I expected. Even free from Azi Dahaka, you showed what you can do. Even more than that," he pointed his finger at the boy, "There is something we want to know Kiri."
"W-what is it?" Kiri asked a little confused. There was nothing he could show them.
"We want to know if you were hiding anything. You were suddenly much stronger during the battle, and it wasn't as if you were holding back before," Cerberus continued.
Joker chuckled and declared, "Maybe it's the power of his ancestor. Like some shows on TV and online," he scratched his jaw, "Maybe you weren't as good as you think Rouga."
"You!" Cerberus grunted, but his buddy nodded.
"I think you are wrong," the long gray-haired boy replied, before turning back to Kiri, "What are you hiding?"
The blue-haired boy avoided looking at Rouga, unsure of the question while his buddy frowned, "I- I don't know what you're talking about."
The three-headed dog heard honestly in the voice of the boy, even if there were some hesitations. He whispered what he understood to his buddy.
"And the train is coming!" the frozen monster yelled.
The teenage boy and his buddy knew there was something going on. Rouga approached Joker, while Kiri climbed in the train, and whispered, "You know what Kiri is hiding right? He knows nothing, but you seem to know."
The ice monster whispered back, "Yes. However, don't search the true Rouga," he sighed, "I want my buddy to be happy as long as possible. Because those good times we have and will have together, won't last forever. Please, let me be his buddy while it last."
"Fine," Rouga replied. He added, "Tell Kiri that it was our bad. With everything going on, I was a little paranoid. I just underestimated him," he turned around and walked away.
His buddy followed him as the ice monster climbed in the train, "You are going to let it go?"
"Yes," he replied to the three-headed wolf.
"You respect the boy, right?"
"Yes," he didn't add anything else. The result in saw between their two fights gave the boy the respect to the blue-haired one.
Inside the train, Joker told the boy what Rouga asked him to relay.
"I was better than I thought," Kiri concluded.
Joker tapped the shoulder of his buddy, "Let's have fun as long as we can! I will never leave you alone Kiri. I promise."
The boy nodded as he looked at the city they leave behind, "We will be back one day," he confidently said.
"It's never good-bye forever buddy. Never," the monster insisted.
Zanya was outside of his house and watched his younger brother playing with Tsukikage.
"How do you just disappear out of thin air like that?" Akatsuki asked his older brother's buddy.
"Nin," the nanomachine ninja took out a flash bomb and threw it on the ground. The next second, he was on the ceiling of the house. He jumped near the young boy and showed his scroll, it needs technique and practice.
The older brother corrected himself. Tsukikage was training the boy to become a ninja.
"I can't move that fast. How do you do it?" the younger brother asked with excitement.
Tsukikage thought about it. He thought back on his training and sighed, you are not made of nanomachine like me. So, you cannot replicate it.
That cut the excitement of Akatuski a little. Their training continued a little, until the three of them were simply watching the sky.
"It's so good that you are finally home Tsukikage," Akatsuki said with a large smile, "We missed you for a long time."
"Nin," he joyfully replied.
Zanya gazed at his buddy, "Come to think of it. You never told us how it was in jail. Did they do anything to you?"
No. It was less bad than before. Stella made sure that nothing happened to me. She was often checking on me. They probably gave up anything they might want to attempt. If they did.
"You've been arrested before?" the siblings asked together.
Yes, "Nin," and added on the scroll, I got captured during a mission. I manage to escape on my own before the interrogation, the monster added no detail. It was clear that things that could have happened to him would not be appropriate to say to any kids.
Zanya understood it and asked no further question. He found interesting that his friend was busy before.
I never did talk about me, he commented. The writing changed, Like you buddy, I also have a brother.
"Is he your big brother or not?" Akatsuki asked.
Younger and sometimes, very annoying, the writing quickly changed, if you ever saw him. Never say anything about this. I will never hear the end of it if he knows I can find him annoying.
His buddy didn't try to relate to it, or his little brother might pick up on it, "What is Katana World?"
That's a long story, he started, before resuming what he knew about his own world and how different it was from his own. He thought, I missed both of you so much.
Tetsuya walked with his buddy in the street. The boy had a determined face as he went toward his destination. He looked so serious that it felt a little like it wasn't the same boy. Despite that, the pink demon by his side had an amusing face at the strange expressions of his buddy.
"You're okay buddy? I never seen you having a face like that," he walked backward and stood in front of his buddy.
"Y-yeah. I just have to make sure of one thing," the boy replied.
"Something was in your mind for along time hum?" Asmodai asked with a small grin, but knew what it was about, "Is it about the girl you like?"
The boy blushed and grumbled, "Y-yeah. I'm a little worried if he- You know."
"And that's why we are visiting him," he stopped at the entrance of Kyoya's mansion.
"He wasn't there yesterday," the boy replied.
"I think he was visiting his buddy. Hope you'll do the same with me," the pink demon from Magic World commented.
"Don't try to end up in jail please," Tetsuya rang the bell at the entrance, "Mushi Mushi. Is Kyoya's here today?"
"-Yes I am. I've been warned of your previous visit,-" Kyoya replied. He added, "-I do wonder why you of all people came here.-"
"It's about Terumi."
"-What about her?-"
"I came to make sure that you will definitely give her the money she needs. She could end up in jail because of that," the boy grunted.
The door opened, "-Come.-"
It was clear that Kyoya took it seriously.
Once inside, they were in a room with Kyoya. He sat there and waited for the boy or his buddy to speak first.
"So that's why you came here," Asmodai cut the silence between them.
"A little late," the two humans commented.
"Anyway. You are worried I wouldn't pay here. How do you know about it?" the white-haired teenager asked with a small smirk.
"She told me about it when we fought. I know she isn't a bad person and… I believe she did it because it was the only way for her to get treated. That's why I came," Tetsuya told him.
"He kinda likes her," the pink demon pointed at the boy.
"N-not now!"
Kyoya chuckled, "I see why. Anyway, you don't have to worry about it. I never intended to break my promise or double-cross her."
"You look a little like that kinda guy you know Kyoya," Asmodai pointed out.
"Right about the look," the grin was still there. After a few seconds, he frowned, "But if I did something like that, I wouldn't be any better than those I despise. So many people just breaks promise or stab someone in the back. I refuse to lower myself like them," he looked in the eyes of Tetsuya, "I will pay," he went in a drawer and wrote something, "This should be more than enough," I'll try to do as you asked buddy, "This should be enough."
Tetsuya took the check the older boy gave him, "T-that's a lot!"
"We all have to… move forward. Azi Dahaka asked me to give humanity another chance. My buddy asks a lot you know," the boy commented as he opened the door to guide them outside.
"You know Kyoya," Asmodai started before slapping the back of the teenager, "The harder the challenge, the sweeter the reward. Maybe you'll turn up like Gao and never recognise someone disguised."
"I rather not," the boy replied with a small smile on his face.
"Kyoya… Thanks," Tetsuya said as they went outside, "I mean it."
"Just holding my promise. Got a few more to keep," he closed the door once they were gone.
"Let's give this to Terumi after school tomorrow," Tetsuya said.
When school came to an end, Tetsuya waited for Terumi to come out of the school. He was on his own while his buddy was busy elsewhere. He felt a little nervous to just come to her like that but had to do it. He waited for a few more minutes and she came out.
Terumi was in a depress mood since the end of the battle. She lips were pointing down. She also was looking down as she went to the staircase. She stopped when she saw the boy with bananas in his hair, "What do you want? There is nothing else between us now. We lost."
Tetsuya hesitated to reply as he scratched the back of his head. He wondered how he should bring it up.
"Tell me!" she ordered at the boy who infuriated her once again.
The boy sighed and decided to be direct, she was already hating him and it wouldn't be worse at this point, "I went to see Kyoya yesterday for something important."
"So? Why are you here to tell me about it?" she crossed her arms and began to walk away, he's just wasting my time!
"Because it was something important for you," the boy replied.
The girl stopped and made the addition together, "Did you-"
"Yes. I went to see him and make sure that you get what he promised," the boy quickly answered as his face lightly turned red.
"That's not of your business!" she grunted.
"But it was important for you! Even if it wasn't my business, I didn't want you to remain unhappy with what happened to you!" he let it out, "You put yourself in danger for this and I didn't want you to think that everything was for nothing," he showed something and gave it to Terumi, "I don't want you to be unhappy."
The girl looked at it and looked at the boy. She didn't know how to feel as she saw the money. She frowned and turned around. She walked away without saying a word. She stopped, "Tetsuya… Thank you," she looked at him, "I… Just thanks," she lightly smiled as she left the school field.
Tetsuya watched her leave. The boy understood that she was honestly thankful for his action.
Terumi was in deep thought as she checked what he brought for her, Maybe… Maybe he's not so annoying after all. He was just honest, She lightly blushed.
AC: This is the end of this chapter. Tetsuya and Terumi relationship will advance in the sequel. She won't be out of the story.
