When Kristen came home, Deidre was sitting at the kitchen table, browsing on Ed's laptop in a tank top and tiny shorts … and Edward was sprawled out on his stomach on the bed, asleep and naked. Kristen burst out laughing.
"How many times did you do it?" she asked.
Deidre shrugged, looking up at her with a smirk. "Oh, I lost count around seven."
"I think you broke him."
"I did not break him." Deidre said shaking her head before taking a sip of her coffee. "I just … Wore him out. Poor guy … He tried so hard to keep up." She said with a disappointed shake of her head.
"You're an absolute menace," Kristen said, before she got a wicked look in her eyes and went over to the bed. She climbed into bed next to him and kissed the back of his neck. "Is it my turn yet?" she whispered in his ear.
Edward groaned. "Please no." He grumbled, his face half pressed into the pillow.
Kristen laughed and ruffled his hair, before standing up. "I see how it is. I'll go make dinner."
"Do you want some help?" Deidre asked, though she didn't look even remotely interested in helping as she scrolled through the page she was on.
"If I said yes, would you resent it?" Kristen said, mildly amused by Deidre's listlessness. It seemed she had exhausted plenty of her own energy as well.
"Probably." She said snapping the laptop shut, "What do you need help with?"
"Mind helping me cut up these potatoes?" Kristen asked, going over to the fridge.
Once dinner was ready, Deidre headed out to go pick up Rubix, leaving Kristen with the task of getting Edward vertical again. She went over to the bed, nudging him gently. "Edward," Kristen said, bending down and kissing him on the cheek. "Dinner's ready. Think you can put some clothes on?"
He groaned and rolled over. "Do I have to?" He muttered.
"Well, Deidre's going to bring Rubix back over, so … probably, yes," she said. "Want to try to sit up?"
Edward sighed and slowly pushed himself up on the bed. He grabbed his pants off the floor and pulled them back on. "I blame you for not warning me about this …" He said standing up and stretching. "I hurt in places I didn't know I had."
"Yeah, Deidre can have that effect," she said, smiling slightly. "But you'd gladly do it again, wouldn't you?"
"Right now? Hell no … In future … Most likely." He said. "Remind me to stretch first next time …" He said picking up his shirt and moving to the bathroom.
Kristen laughed. "Good luck … I never could get her to give me enough time for that. She kind of pounces once she gets going."
