Percy Jackson

When Percy and Jason returned to camp, they had already missed dinner due to how bad the traffic was trying to get out of New York City and back to camp. Luckily, Chiron and Mr. D were nowhere to be seen so they were free of punishment this time. The rest of camp had already either went to bed or were singing at the bonfire. Leo had been a little disappointed when they told him they couldn't get him his root beer.

"Hey, Perce, thanks for driving." Jason said, "Sucks we couldn't get any Coke."

"Yeah, I'll see if I can get some for you next week." Percy said with a smile.

"Thanks, man. Goodnight."

"Goodnight." Percy said as he watched Jason walk away.

Percy turned and walked into his cabin, tried from everything he had seen today. Usually, he could handle these types of things but not today. He was still a little broken from losing Annabeth. He had no idea how long it would take before he could get back to normal or if that was even possible.

"Lights out." Percy called tiredly before passing out onto his bed.

A few hours must've passed by when Percy woke up. His eyes shot open and he sat up, looking around for what woke him up. Normally, he never jumped awake unless something happened. He looked around his dark cabin, everything looked the same. The gurgling from the fountain was the only noise he could hear. He looked down and realized he was still wearing his camp shirt and jeans. He reached into his right pocket and felt Riptide trustfully sitting in its rightful place.

A light whistling sound emitted from somewhere outside his cabin. Percy knew that wasn't normal. He wasn't sure what could be causing that. It sounded a lot like a anvil falling in those goofy cartoons he used to watch when he was little.

Then as if it was straight out of a movie, a loud explosion rocked his cabin. The boom nearly knocked him off his bed. The shockwave rattled his spine and a sense of dread crept up his chest.

Pushing through the feeling, he climbed out of bed and sprinted out of his cabin. It was still dark outside but everyone seemed to be awake. Torches were lit, spotlights were on, and campers walked around with flashlights. Then he saw the huge crater in the commons area, white smoke emitting from the bottom.

"We're being bombed!" Jason shouted to Percy.

"By who?!"

"I don't know!"

Percy grunted out of frustration, there was no reason for them to be bombed. Mortals couldn't even reach Camp Half-Blood. The Titan army was long defeated and the Romans had gone back to Camp Jupiter.

Then he heard another whistling sound. He looked up and saw a fireball heading straight towards one of the cabins. It was slow but he watched on in horror as it slowly drifted towards cabin eleven. It got about halfway before another sound, a loud roaring sound like a rocket taking off, nearly ruptured Percy's eardrums. He looked over to see a missile from cabin nine take off and slam into the fireball, creating a huge explosion in the sky.

"What the hell is that?" Percy asked Jason who was now standing next to him.

"That, my friends, is a Iron Dome!" Leo said pridefully, "Took a little inspiration from the mortals just in case this type of thing happened. We should be safe, those things have a pretty good interception rate."

Another missile roared towards its target.

"Who is bombing us?" Jason asked.

"I don't know yet, I had my cabin send up some drones to look." Leo said, "Then we'll be able to blow them to kingdom come!"

Clarisse stormed out of the armory, shouting at her cabin mates to get into phalanx formation and to advance to Half-Blood hill. They were already dressed in full armor, which was quick for a few teenagers who had just woken up not even ten minutes ago.

Percy eyed the sky for any incoming fireballs but anytime he saw one, it would explode before even coming anywhere near the ground. Then he realized something. There was always a few moments before another wave of fireballs would come screaming towards them, it was like whoever was launching them was reloading.

"Catapults." Jason said as he stared up at the sky, "I've seen those before."

"What?" Percy asked.

Jason looked at him, "We used catapults during the siege on Mount Othrys, someone is using catapults to hit us."

"Camp Jupiter?"

"No, can't be. Frank and Hazel would never order a attack. It would take them days to even reach us with that type of equipment to carry, we would've seen them before they even crossed into Long Island."

'Incoming! Incoming! Incoming!' A loud male robotic voice blared over a loudspeaker. This time, a barrage of missiles roared out of cabin nine's iron dome system.

"Yeah!" Leo cheered as his newest invention shot more fireballs out of the sky.

Then of course, everything went wrong at that exact moment. The sound of metal hitting the dirt caused Percy to look over. Sure enough, the missile launcher sticking out of the roof of cabin nine creaked and groaned before the hinges holding it up broke, sending the machine cascading to the ground.

"No!" Leo cried, running towards the launcher.

"Leo, watch out!" Jason shouted.

Percy watched with horror as a fireball flew towards where the launcher was, which also happened to be where Leo was. All Percy saw was a bright flash and smoke before the sound of the explosion rocked the ground.

"Holy shit…" Percy muttered.

"LEO!" Jason shouted, jumping off cabin three's porch and sprinting towards Leo's last position.

Percy drew Riptide and ran after him, he really hoped he hadn't just watched Leo die. As soon as he made it to the machine, he knew things were bad. The launcher itself was utterly destroyed, no amount of Hephaestus camper magic could fix it. Leo was laying on his back with his eyes closed, his clothes charred and burned. Jason was cradling his head while listening for a heartbeat.

"He's still alive!" Jason said, looking up at Percy.

"We need to get him to the infirmary." Percy said, "You do that, I'll see what I can do about the catapults."

Jason threw Leo over his shoulder and ran towards the infirmary. Percy turned to Half-Blood hill, where Clarisse and her siblings were holding the line. Percy couldn't tell what they saw but from whatever it was, it was probably pretty bad if it managed to stop them from attacking.

Percy charged towards the hill. He could tell it was pretty bad since Apollo campers were dragging back wounded campers on stretchers. Some of them looked dead but he pushed that thought out of his mind. He really didn't want to lose anymore friends, there was a chance Leo might not even make it. He knew the guy was resistant to fire but he didn't know if he could withstand explosions.

When Percy made it to the hill, he looked to where the Ares campers were looking. His heart dropped when he saw the massive group of monsters waiting at the bottom of the hill. There were dracaena at the bottom, armed with spears and swords. Their shields had ragged black scythes painted on them. If he had to guess, they were using leftover equipment from the Titan War. Aside from the dracaena, there were Hellhounds and a couple of full-grown Cyclopes.

"About time you joined the party, Jackson." Clarisse said.

"Where are the catapults?" Percy asked.

"Hektor and a few Hermes kids already snuck around with some Greek fire, help us deal with these monsters or help him blow up the catapults, just don't stand there and do nothing." Clarisse said while poking him in the chest.

Percy thought about it. Hektor probably didn't need any help. Percy had trained him personally, which made him a formidable foe for any monster. He also made sure to explain every mistake he made on all his quests so that he wouldn't make the same mistakes either. He did find it weird that Hektor kept asking about Luke Castellan.

"I'll help with the monsters." Percy said.

"Great, let's go." Clarisse grinned. She turned to her siblings, "Break formation! Attack!"

Percy led the Ares kids on the attack with Clarisse right next to him. The Hellhounds charged them but Clarisse and her siblings weren't having it. They crouched and put their shields up, their spear tips poking over them. When the hounds jumped over the shields, they were instantly pierced by the wickedly pointy spear tips.

One Hellhound in particular was smart enough to ignore the heavily armed Ares kids and went straight for Percy, who only had Riptide. Percy eyed the monster with a cruel glint in his eyes, he had plenty of practice by play-fighting with Ms. O' Leary in the arena.

"Perce, look out!" A Ares camper warned.

Before Percy could react, something slammed into him. A second Hellhound! The Hellhound had a death grip on his sword arm, his nerves screaming in pain as the dog's teeth pierced his skin. He thought he was about to lose him arm when he saw a pointy electrified spear tip thrust through the Hellhound's head.

He looked up to see Clarisse, a look of pure rage on her face. Behind her, her siblings tore lines of dracaena apart while others overwhelmed the Cyclopes. The sound of metal clashing and monsters screaming before turning to dust filled the air.

The Hellhound that attacked Percy was dead, it faded to dust and released his arm. He looked around for the other one that charged him, only to see it turning to dust as arrows sprouted out its side.

Clarisse knelt down next to him, "You good, Percy?"

"I-I'm fine." Percy gasped, the stinging pain from his arm stronger than ever.

"No, you're not." She said as she glanced at him arm, "You're bleeding too much."

Percy looked at his arm, which was covered with his blood. He knew the muscles were torn but he wasn't sure if the bone was still intact. Hellhounds had insane bite forces, they were even worse than crocodiles.

"Come on, get up." Clarisse said while trying to help him up.

"Ah, fuck!" Percy shouted as a intense spike of pain pierced his ankle.

"What?!" Clarisse yelled as she looked at him.

"My ankle!"

She knelt down and looked at his ankle. She cursed, "Your ankle is broken. Must've been from the Hellhound. I'll carry you."

Percy didn't like the idea of having Clarisse carry him but she hoisted him over her shoulder like a bag of flour and started running towards the infirmary. He could barely keep his head up but he spotted a few campers who had far worse wounds than him. He was sure some of them were scarred for sure.

The sound of Clarisse kicking open the door for the infirmary was all he heard before he was carried into a room with bright white lights. He heard the sound of groaning and medical equipment beeping away.

"Will, get your ass over here!" Clarisse barked. She dumped him on a bed, which wasn't at all gentle.

"Geez, Clarisse, you can't just dump patients onto any bed and—oh gods, Percy!" Will yelped. He ran over to Percy's bed side and knelt down to look at his arm, "You have some serious muscle tearing going on here and some major blood loss."

"Great." Percy groaned.

"Yeah, what he said, can you fix him now?" Clarisse asked impatiently.

Will scoffed, "Of course!" He reached into his doctor's coat and pulled out a vial of glowing nectar, "This is some enhanced nectar. I messed with the chemical formula so it should heal your wounds quicker but I'll warn you in advance, the taste is pretty bad."

Percy just opened his mouth, nearly recoiling when he felt the warm nectar hit his tongue. He tried to swallow but was met by the hot and spicy taste of the nectar. It reminded him of the fire liquid from Tartarus.

"Do not spit!" Will said, "I can't have any contamination in here!"

"Well, you two handle things here, I have a battle to finish." Clarisse said, marching out of the infirmary.

"The nectar will take a few minutes to fully heal you but you're going to be just fine. Yell if you need me." Will said.

He scurried off to help other half-bloods who were groaning in the other beds.

Percy tested his sword hand, luckily he still had control over his fingers. There was a slight tingling feeling in his forearm but he knew there was no permanent damage. He looked over and saw Jason walking over to him.

"What happened, Perce?" He asked.

"Just a Hellhound bite." Percy said with a grin, "I'm fine, promise."

A guilty look crossed Jason's face, "Ah, man, I'm sorry. I should've been there."

"No, no, you're good!" Percy assured him, "How's Leo?"

Jason sat down next to him, "A few broken bones but nothing too serious. I think the missile launcher took the most damage. I brought both our water bottles here after I found out he was okay, you want yours?"

Now that Percy thought about it, he was parched. He hadn't even had a drink since he had woken up.

"Yeah, that'd be great."

Jason walked over to Leo's bed, picked up a water bottle and handed it to Percy.

"Thanks." He said before taking a sip.

About half a hour later, Hektor walked into the infirmary with entire gallons of water. Campers crowded around him to get a bottle. He walked around and handed a bottle to every wounded camper, which only made him look like a hero. He offered some to Jason and Percy but both of them declined.

By now, Percy's wounds had healed to their best. His arm was fine but his ankle still tingled, he reckoned there was something deeper in his ankle. He climbed out of bed, bode Jason goodbye, and walked all the way to his cabin before passing out in his bed.

Ω

The next morning, Percy woke up sore but alive. He tested his ankle, which seemed okay. He climbed out of bed, got changed, and left his cabin for breakfast. Everyone was making their way towards the dining pavilion while others brought food back to their cabins for their wounded cabin mates.

The first person Percy came across was Leo. He was sitting at the Hephaestus table chatting with his cabin mates. To Percy, he looked okay, save for the cast on his arm.

"Hey, Leo!" Percy said, "How's—"

"Don't talk to me." Leo said with a cold tone. The rest of his cabin mates gave Percy a glare, which caught him off guard. What was their deal?

"Okay." Percy said, a bewildered look on his face as he walked to his table. He sat down and waited for breakfast, noting everyone either whispering while looking at him or glaring at him. Had he missed something?

Then he felt something warm and sticky hit the back of his head. He turned to see Clarisse with a smug grin on her face. He looked down to see egg shells and yolk dripping from his back.

"Aw, what the fuck?!" He yelled while standing up.

"Quit making a scene!" A camper shouted.

"It's just a egg!"

"Can't handle the heat, Jackson?!"

Percy looked around, he had no idea what was going on. Everyone seemed angry at him. Piper, Clarisse, Will, Leo, even Nico was either glaring at him or wearing a evil smile on their faces. The only ones not glaring at him were Hektor and Jason. Jason looked downright confused while Hektor just stared down at his empty plate.

Clarisse threw another egg. Percy dodged it this time before getting angry himself, "You know what, I'm out of here!"

He stormed out of the pavilion. He made his way to his cabin, the egg still dripping down his back. He heard Jason yell something but he didn't bother to stop and listen, it was abundantly clear that no one wanted him to be in the pavilion today. He hadn't even really done anything to anyone yet it seemed like everyone hated him today.

He threw open the door to his cabin and strolled in before slamming it shut. He wished Chiron or Mr. D would come back, maybe they could help him out.

Percy was about to go back to bed when he noticed Annabeth's laptop sitting on his desk. It had been sitting there in the exact same spot since Jason had interrupted him to get soda. He never did have a chance to look at what was inside that thing. Maybe it had the answer to why everyone was acting so weird today.

He really had no idea what was causing everyone to be so mean to him as soon as he walked into the pavilion. To his knowledge, there was no 'let's hate Percy for one day' thing going on. Yet it felt like the entire camp was playing a prank on him. He found it hard to believe that the people he fought next to for at least four years would suddenly grow a hatred for him.

Pulling out a chair, Percy sat down and opened Annabeth's laptop, hoping to find answers. He typed her password in and waited as the computer logged him in. Annabeth's home screen popped up, revealing folders for her architecture designs, a few games, Google Chrome, and a folder named 'evidence'

Percy moved the cursor over the evidence folder and clicked on it. All that came up were a bunch of word files and picture files, all with different dates. He decided to open up one of the picture files.

His heart dropped when he saw the picture.
