Annabeth Chase

Annabeth woke up feeling a little sore from last night's events. She rolled over in her bed, only to be met by a sleeping Percy. She was ecstatic when her mother told her that Percy was coming to her. If it weren't for the plan that she, her mom, and Poseidon had set up, she would've told him what was going on sooner. She had been watching everything from her suite's TV, it almost made her depressed to see Percy, her Percy, being chased by the very people who he fought next to for the past 4 to 5 years.

Percy let out a groan before opening his eyes. He stared at her for a moment before rolling on his back and chuckling.

"What's so funny?" Annabeth asked.

"Nothing, I'm just remembering what you did last night."

Annabeth didn't even want to know what she did. She knew for a fact that Aphrodite had something to do with it, the goddess had been screwing with everyone's emotions.

"Well, savor it because that's not happening for a pretty long time." She said, taking a mental screenshot of Percy's crestfallen face.

"That's no fair." He whined.

Annabeth shoved him playfully before sitting up. She winced a little when she stood up, what had Percy done to her? She didn't regret anything but there was no time for her to think about anything else except her plans. Her mind switched from loving Percy to making a plan to save camp.

Percy stood up and started getting dressed. He was in the middle of buckling his belt when he said, "So, what are we going to do? We can't just waltz back into camp you know."

Annabeth started picking up her clothes, "Well, I have a few ideas but they're all pretty dangerous."

Percy laughed, "Annabeth, when is anything we do ever safe? I mean, seriously, we didn't even use protec—"

"Shut up!" Annabeth screeched, "Gods, leave it to you to bring up sex while we're trying to plan something."

"You started it." Percy said, "I'm hungry, food first, plan later."

Annabeth groaned as she followed Percy out of the bedroom. She found him in the kitchen pouring himself a bowl of Fruit Loops. She wasn't really hungry, which was odd since she hadn't even ate dinner the night before. She watched as Percy pulled out a chair and started eating.

She slid in next to him and said, "You got your food, you ready to talk now?"

Percy nodded.

"Okay, so first things first, we need to get our stuff. I know you have Riptide but I pretty much left all of my stuff back at camp. If you can get it for me, great, but what we really need the most is my laptop."

"Your laptop?" Percy asked, "Why?"

"Because, Seaweed Brain, that laptop can help us find where Hektor might be hiding everything." Annabeth said, "You know how Leo made all those demigod phones?"

Percy nodded.

"Well, the hacking rig Leo had installed with my computer can break the security of those things with no problem. I think you and I both know Hektor stole all the magic items, chances are he might be working with other half-bloods to try to hide them but since Iris-messages are on and off right now, that's the next best way to communicate over distance." She explained.

Annabeth knew Leo had managed to create a phone that was completely untraceable by monsters. Nearly everyone had one. Annabeth had figured out she could listen in on conversations when she connected to one remotely, which was as easy as long as the phone was turned on and connected to some form of internet.

"So, we're both going to sneak into Camp Half-Blood and—"

"I'm not going, Percy." She said.

"What?" He asked.

"You can swim better than me and have a weapon. I don't even have my sword. I'd just slow you down."

Percy blinked, "Annabeth, you can't be serious. You'd never slow me down."

"Percy, just go." She said, "I promise I'll be here the entire time watching you."

Annabeth watched as Percy's expression changed from disbelief to anger to acceptance. She knew he didn't want to leave her by herself but she couldn't go with him. The last thing she wanted was for them to get caught and for her to slow him down and get them both killed. She was going to be honest, she didn't know if she had it in her to kill people who she knew for years, she didn't even kill anyone during the Battle of Manhattan.

Percy closed his eyes and took a deep breath before asking, "Okay, where is the rest of your stuff at?"

"Most of it should be in my personal chest in cabin six. I don't have much in there aside from your Goode swim team jacket, my sword, and some books. If you can't get it, I'll understand, but the laptop is top priority." She said. She already had her phone and a spare dagger from when she tried to apprehend Hektor but she really wanted most of her stuff back.

After swallowing the rest of his breakfast, Percy asked, "When do I go?"

"Tonight, you'll be harder to see. We need to get this done before Hektor finds that laptop and destroys it. He knows I have evidence on there."

Percy Jackson

Percy finished tying the laces of his black boots while Annabeth applied dark green face paint on his nose. She'd gotten pretty much everywhere else, now she was just painting him for fun. They sat in the meeting room that Percy had first seen Athena in, getting ready to send him up to the surface. The sea outside was dark save for the lights from Atlantis and Poseidon's palace.

"You know, it's kinda weird your mom knows my size." Percy said as he looked down at his black camouflage outfit. He was really digging it, it made him feel like he was straight out of a spy movie.

"She is the wisdom goddess after all." Annabeth said while applying his face paint, "Finished."

"Great." Percy said, getting up and stretching, he knew he was going to be doing a lot of running and climbing.

"You remember the plan?" Annabeth asked while adjusting the straps for his currently empty waterproof duffle bag.

"Yeah, get to my cabin, steal your laptop back, go to your cabin, then steal the rest of your stuff.' He said, "Piece of cake."

"And if you get caught?" She inquired.

"Cause a earthquake and make Hektor regret being born." He smiled.

"No!" She scolded him, "You run! I swear if I see you trying to fight, I'm going to come up there and drag you back down here."

Percy knew she would do it. She was the one who came up with the whole plan, if he messed it up, she was going to make sure he suffered for it one way or another.

"Got it." He said before turning to leave. He stopped at the doorway and turned, "Kiss for good luck?"

"Come back alive first, Seaweed Brain, then we'll see." Annabeth said.

As much as Percy would've loved a kiss for good luck, he knew he didn't have all night. He walked through the door and out of Poseidon's palace. After about thirty minutes of swimming, he made it to the beach of Camp Half-Blood.

His head slowly breached the water, the sound of the waves crashing against the beach head muffling the sounds of him slowly rising out of the water. The tree line was dark and with very little moonlight to reveal if anyone was watching him. He cursed inside his head, he should've asked for some night vision goggles.

Percy made it off the beach with no problem, he didn't feel like anyone was watching him. He crouch-walked his way into the forest, silently pushing bushes aside and making sure he didn't step on anything that would make any noise.

The sound of birds hooting in the distance and monsters making weird noises made him jump every now and then but he kept his composure. This was the easiest part of his infiltration, nothing would be more nerve-racking then when he got inside camp itself. He hoped that Leo hadn't created some anti-Percy device that was waiting for him to break camp's barrier.

He was just passing a tree when he felt something slightly brush against his leg. He looked down and at first, he couldn't see anything, then his eyes adjusted and he could make out the fine black line of a tripwire.

"Shit." He whispered, stepping back and over the wire. The Apollo and Hephaestus campers must've trapped the entire forest in case he tried to come back. He wasn't sure if the traps were fatal or meant to capture him but he definitely didn't want to find out.

"You think he's going to try to come back?" Travis's voice faintly said in the distance.

"Doubt it, he's probably asleep with Annabeth right now." Connor replied.

As much as Percy would've loved to be sleeping in a bed with Annabeth at the moment, he couldn't let that thought discourage him. He kept moving.

Travis and Connor came into sight. They were both sitting up in a makeshift tree stand, torches blazing on every corner. They both didn't seem to be taking night watch seriously, which was good for Percy. He was able to creep right past them with literally no problem. They were too busy talking about what they had for dinner instead of actually looking out for the guy who just snuck past them.

After about a hour of carefully moving through the forest and avoiding camp patrols and traps, Percy finally saw Camp Half-Blood. Torches were lit everywhere, making it impossible to just sneak to his cabin. Most of the cabins were dark, the inhabitants asleep, but Percy knew he couldn't relax.

Percy looked left and right, no one near him or looking his direction. He stood up and sprinted as fast as he could towards his cabin, diving onto the front porch, throwing the door open, scurrying inside, and slowly and quietly shutting the door. Inside his cabin, everything was exactly where he left it, Annabeth's laptop was sitting on his desk.

Creeping over to the laptop, Percy slung the bag off his shoulders and unzipped it. He grabbed her laptop and stuffed it inside a special compartment specifically for laptops. He walked over to his bed and opened his nightstand, digging out his wallet, his phone, as well as a spare dagger still in its sheathe. After shoving those in his pockets, he slung his duffle bag back on and got ready to leave his cabin.

He was just about to reach the door when it opened. He quickly reached into his pocket and drew Riptide, taking a fighting stance. He glared back at the electric blue eyes of Jason Grace, who had his hand on the handle of his own sword.

"Perce." He said, "Fancy seeing you here."

"Out of my way, Jason, I don't want to fight you." Percy said, really meaning it.

Jason shut the door and Percy got ready to fight but was surprised when Jason put his hands up, "I'm not here to fight. I saw you from my cabin, you really gotta be quieter when you dive on the ground next time."

"If you're not here to fight, then why are you here?" Percy asked.

Jason tilted his head, "You think I'm like everyone else? I don't hate you, Percy, and I don't believe you or Annabeth had anything to do with the attack on camp. I don't know why everyone else suddenly hates you but what I do know is that Hektor kid isn't right. He's ordering everyone around like he's Zeus himself, he's even trying to make a harem, the fucking loser."

"Then why didn't you help me?" Percy asked, "You saw what everyone was doing but you didn't do anything."

"I didn't do anything because I can help you more while I'm here." Jason said, "I'm your man on the inside. I can let you know everything Hektor is trying to do."

Percy stared at Jason. He could've been lying to him for all he knew. Jason was really risking himself for this. One look in his eyes and he knew Jason wasn't lying, he was really helping him out.

"I've told Thalia to not bring her Hunters here, I don't want Hektor taking advantage of them." Jason said, "She'll help you when you need it and if she's available."

"What about Frank and Hazel?" Percy asked.

"Can't provide any help to you." Jason responded, "Hektor already went over there and made you look like a psycho. With everyone here backing him, all of Camp Jupiter believed him, except a few like Dakota, Frank, and Hazel. I'm the attaché to Camp Jupiter so I know what I'm talking about."

Percy found it hard to believe all of the Romans really believed some new guy over him. He recovered their eagle for gods' sake!

"How did he convince everyone?" Percy asked, "The senate rarely ever agrees unanimously."

"A doctored video." Jason said, "Told Leo and his cabin mates to make a fake video of you and Annabeth bribing some monsters to attack camp. No one could say anything."

Percy let out a irritated sigh, how was he supposed to get any help when both camps were on the lookout to kill him. Thalia and her Hunters had their own duties and Jason could only do so much. So far, he only had his dad, Athena, and Annabeth as guaranteed support.

"Can you do me a favor, Jace?" Percy asked.

"Sure, what is it?"

"Annabeth wants everything from her personal chest but I don't know if I can get in her cabin without her siblings trying to murder me." Percy said, "Can you get it for me?"

Jason nodded, "Sure, stay here."

Percy watched as he left before sitting down on his bed and waiting. Hektor was really doing everything he could to make sure Percy couldn't come back. He wondered if that was part of Hektor's plan, oust the only threat to his leadership and watch as the world falls apart around him. Maybe that was his end goal.

Five minutes later, Jason emerged through the door, breathing heavy and his face red. He was holding a blue and white jacket, a couple of books, and Annabeth's Drakon sword still in its sheathe.

"What's going on?" Percy asked.

"Everyone is on full alert right now," Jason said while opening Percy's bag and shoving Annabeth's stuff inside, "You need to leave, now!"

Percy looked out the window and to his horror, everyone was filing out of their cabins, fully decked out in armor and weaponry. Cabin nine's spotlights were on and pointed towards the sky. Everyone was running around outside, it'd be impossible to sneak out without being seen.

"I got a idea." Percy said, running to his closet and throwing it open. He put on his armor and war helm, the Greek style helmet covering his features. As long as he didn't draw Riptide or make eye contact, he'd be able to blend in.

"Great, now go!" Jason said, holding the door open.

Percy sprinted out of his cabin and blended into the chaos outside. He ran past Hektor, who had severe bed head. He was still in his pajamas which made him look goofy with his armor. Percy resisted the urge to stab him right there.

Percy was running towards the woods when someone stopped him. He was met by Clarisse, who looked angrier than ever.

"Where the hell are you going, Jackson was spotted on the hill!" Clarisse barked.

Percy changed his voice to be deeper, "I, uh, need to get a weapon from the armory, miss."

"Then go!" She shouted, shoving him towards the armory.

He nodded before taking off into the woods, passing Travis and Connor, who paid him no mind. He made it onto the trail that led to the beach and sprinted his way back. He was pretty much home free now as long as no one chased after him.

While Percy ran, he couldn't help but wonder who was spotted on the hill because it sure as hell wasn't him. It couldn't have possibly been him. He put the thought out of his mind, mainly so he could focus, but partially because it creeped him out.

Percy finally made it onto the beach and wasted no time in diving in and swimming back to Atlantis, leaving behind a chaotic Camp Half-Blood in his wake. As he swam, he heard his dad's voice say, "Haven't used my teenage form in a while, glad I looked convincing enough."
