Percy Jackson

"And so that's why we need to go!" Annabeth finished her speech. Technically, it wasn't a speech but it minus well have been one due to how long it was. Percy was bored out of his mind, he'd already heard the plan at breakfast, he was there when Annabeth came up with it. Now he had to sit and listen to her explain it, in detail, to Poseidon and Athena.

"Are you two sure you want to take a train, even with everything that's going on?" Poseidon asked.

"That's the fastest and safest option." Athena said, "Cars would be too slow, and a plane would be too dangerous, you know Percy can't really fly."

Technically, Percy did fly a few times. It wasn't necessarily that he couldn't fly, he just didn't want to. Zeus wouldn't kill him, not in a time like this, but that still didn't make Percy feel any better. He'd be screaming into Annabeth's shoulder if the plane so much as remotely showed signs of crashing.

He would've loved to sail a boat to where they needed to go but the issue was that sailing a boat to Mount Rushmore was literally impossible. If the item was in the Sea of Monsters, he'd have a much better time. Of course, his luck was rotten like always, he just had to end up having to go to the middle of the country.

"We might be able to beat Clarisse by a few days." Annabeth said, "If we can get the item without being contested, we'd be golden. The second Clarisse reports that she encountered us, Hektor would start trying to figure out how we knew where to go."

"Do you even know what the item is?" Poseidon asked.

Annabeth bit her lip, "No, not yet."

Poseidon and Athena looked a little unamused. Percy thought of that too, for all he knew, they were going to pick up Hektor's favorite rock or something. They had no idea where any of the items were, which location had which item, and how difficult it would be to get each item.

"But we can't take any chances." Annabeth defended her plan.

Athena sat forward, "Wouldn't it be better to let Hektor get the items and bring them back to camp? Then you would be able to sneak in and steal them right out from under him."

"We don't know if he's bringing them back to camp." Annabeth said.

"We don't even know why he's bothering to do all this since he was the one who stole them." Percy said, "Seriously, why would someone steal something, hide it, then have someone else bring it back to them?"

"Maybe he's trying to get glory from it?" Poseidon suggested.

"Maybe." Percy said, "It just doesn't make any sense. He could've hid the items closer and just appeared on Olympus with them and save the day."

"Regardless of his reasons, we need to stop whatever he's trying to do." Annabeth said.

The two gods looked at each other before nodding and turning back to Annabeth, "We'll get your train tickets in a few hours, meanwhile you two should get ready for your quest."

Annabeth smiled and made her way to the stairs so she could go back to her and Percy's room. Percy got up to follow her when he was stopped by his dad.

"Can we talk?" Poseidon asked, his tone of voice scaring Percy a little.

"Uh, sure, what's up?" Percy asked.

"It's about your mother."

Percy hoped nothing bad happened to his mom. Hektor didn't know where his mom lived but he had no idea how long that would be true for. Hektor knew he was alive, if he wanted to draw him out, holding his mom hostage would do it for sure.

It wasn't just his mother either, Percy wasn't going to stand by if Hektor grabbed Paul and he definitely wasn't going to let Hektor kidnap Estelle. His little sister was still just a baby, she wouldn't be able to do anything if a bunch of demigods broke into the apartment and stole her away.

"I've moved your mother, stepfather, and stepsister away. They're not safe in New York, not with the way the mortal world is. I've moved them to an all-expenses paid resort down in Florida, they're safe since it's one of my fronts, I just wanted to let you know." Poseidon said.

Percy felt the dread that had built up inside his body fade away. He felt better now that he knew they were safe and sound. He wouldn't be able to live with himself if he found out they had died, and he hadn't done anything about it.

Percy hadn't really been in the mortal world in the past few days but from what he could tell, things were really getting weird up there. The mortals were throwing concerts one day, then fighting in the streets the next. Every country had some sort of crisis going on, whether it be natural or manmade. Luckily, the world wasn't about to end, at least, it didn't look that way.

"Percy!" Annabeth called.

"You should go." Poseidon said, "Please be careful when you're out there, for me and Sally both."

Percy nodded and walked over to Annabeth, who was patiently waiting for him at the stairwell.

"What was that all about?" She asked as they started to walk up the stairs.

"He moved my mom to a safer place." Percy said, "Said New York wasn't safe anymore."

"Smart move." Annabeth said.

Percy had been so caught up with what had happened over the past few days that he had completely ignored his mortal life. He was supposed to be registering for college this year, yet he couldn't even do that since the college he wanted to go to was in New Rome, which at the moment probably had a bounty on his head.

When Percy and Annabeth to their room, Annabeth turned to him and said, "Okay, before we go, I want to make sure you understand the plan."

Percy groaned, they were going to be here for a while.

Jason Grace

"GODSDAMNIT!" Hektor shouted while throwing a chalice across his new throne room.

Jason stood there at the doorway, flanked by two Ares campers dressed in full Greek armor. Jason meanwhile wore his purple Camp Jupiter shirt and Roman armor, all at Hektor's request of course.

Jason found himself in Hektor's new palace, which he had built for some odd reason. Apparently cabin eleven wasn't lively enough for the weirdo so he had a whole cabin-sized palace built just for him and his so far non-existent harem. So far, every girl he recruited rejected him, which certainly didn't help his mood.

Hektor stormed down his throne's steps and stomped up to Jason, nearly tripping over his makeshift royal robe. "Why, why are the Romans refusing to help us with this? It's the will of the gods!"

Jason stood there with a stone face. Hektor had sent him to request military aid from Camp Jupiter, which he actually did, but he may or may not have told Frank and Hazel to reject the request using their authority. They were more than happy to do that.

By now, Jason had heard Hektor rage and scream so much that he was actually starting to look forward to being called into the throne room. He started taking it upon himself to sort of troll him in a way. He was too important to be killed over minor inconveniences.

"Well, uh, sir, the senate rejected the proposal." Jason said.

"Who?!"

"A small group of senators said it was a Greek problem." Jason said.

"Who is their leader?" Hektor asked with gritted teeth.

Jason was lying through his teeth, the proposal never reached the senate. He had to think of a random name that Hektor would believe. Then he remembered a Monty Python scene that he had watched with Percy. A lightbulb appeared over Jason's head.

"Biggus Dickus, sir." Jason said with a completely straight face.

"Biggus Dickus?!" Hektor shouted.

The guards behind Jason snickered and tried to hold in their laughter.

"What are you two laughing at?" Hektor demanded.

The two Ares campers straightened, staring straight ahead. Jason couldn't help but feel satisfied at the fact that Hektor actually believed him.

"Right, here's what I want you to do." Hektor said as he turned to Jason, "I want you to find Biggus Dickus and force him to accept my request."

"Um, I can't do that, sir, he won't listen to anyone but his wife." Jason said, setting up another Monty Python joke.

"Who's his wife?"

"Incontinentia Buttocks." Jason said, nearly laughing himself.

"What the fuck are these names?!" Hektor raged, turning around and kicking a table over. Jason and the guards were struggling to hold themselves together. Jason wouldn't have been doing this to anyone, but he couldn't help but troll Hektor a little, the guy acted too high and mighty not to.

"I will be sure to have a word with them, sir." Jason said, "Now as for your harem, I understand Piper has been finding insufficient women?"

"Oh gods yes, every single time they always complain that they wanted a muscular tall man!" Hektor complained, "I am those things!"

Jason resisted the urge to point out that he himself was taller than Hektor and far more muscular. It didn't help that Hektor had voice cracks, which made it hard for any self-respecting person to take him seriously. Strangely enough, Jason was the only person who had the guts to mock Hektor to his face.

"Well, I found a Roman girl who would like to be the first of your harem." Jason said.

Hektor's eyes lit up, "Really? Who?"

"Minimus Titus." Jason said.

"Minimus Titus? Too complicated, I shall call her Mini. Where is she?" Hektor said, taking the bait.

Jason could not believe Hektor was so gullible. How did this guy manage to oust Percy? Even Percy would've realized someone was fucking with him long before the Incontinentia Buttocks part.

He grinned to himself, he could have some fun with this.

Percy Jackson

Percy stared at the bright orange hiking packs Annabeth had laid out in front of him. They were in their room, looking over their equipment and other materials before leaving Poseidon's palace for the surface.

Athena had dropped by earlier in her business suit with two tickets from New York to South Dakota with a stop in St. Louis. Since there was no train that got off straight at Mount Rushmore, she had even gotten them a 90% off coupon on a rental car when they got to South Dakota. Of course, that meant Percy would be doing all the driving since Annabeth didn't have a license.

Percy was stuck wearing a blue bubble vest with a trident design on the shoulder, along with a SeaWorld shirt. Annabeth meanwhile was wearing an orange sports tank top and khaki cargo pants. The clothes were her idea, apparently, she wanted them to look like tourist hikers as to not draw any attention. He personally didn't understand why they had to look like a middle-aged couple.

Their hiking packs were packed with the essentials for a demigod quest. Poseidon had taken care of that part of the quest. Their packs had Ziploc bags of ambrosia, multiple canteens of nectar, two sets of clothes for each of them, pouches of golden drachma, and two hundred dollars' worth of mortal cash. Oh and also a pack of condoms, Percy and Annabeth weren't amused. Annabeth took all the money since she didn't trust Percy to not buy himself a happy meal or something. He was impulsive when he was hungry.

"I think we're ready." Annabeth said as she opened her pack and stuffed her Drakon bone sword into it while ensuring that she had a spare sheathed dagger in her waistband. The sword would've been too big and easily seen by half-bloods and at the moment, she was certain that she and Percy were being hunted by both monsters and half-bloods.

Percy stared at the tickets in his hand, "Yeah, I doubt we'll do much walking. Your mom even got us first class tickets!"

"She's not Ares after all." Annabeth said while taking the tickets out of his hands, "Do me a favor and try not to blow up the Arch when we get to St. Louis."

Annabeth really decided to hit him with a bunch of nostalgia. Percy still remembered the awful smell from the Humane Kindness truck with all those animals. He also remembered the Arch exploding not being his fault.

"It was one time!" Percy said.

"One time too many." She said while slipping on her pack, "Now come on, we need to go."

Percy grumbled under his breath. He threw his hiking pack on and followed Annabeth out and all the way to the meeting room. When they got down there, Poseidon was waiting for them.

"Well, look at you two, all packed up and ready to go blow up some monsters!" Poseidon said while clapping. The god of earthquakes seemed to be in a humorous mood tonight though Percy had a feeling it was because of the condoms. "Do you two have your tickets?" He asked.

Percy nudged Annabeth, who took the tickets out of her pocket. Poseidon grinned at the tickets and said, "Right, I'll send you both up."

Percy and Annabeth followed the sea god out of his palace. Annabeth was perfectly fine since Percy had created an air bubble right next to him for her to walk in. They stood on the steps of palace as Poseidon turned around and merged Percy and Annabeth into one bubble. Then with a kick worthy of a world cup highlight, he kicked them to the surface.
