"Wherever Slade's keeping Robin, he's safe from the blast, Slade wouldn't risk Robin's death." States Raven the countdown now vastly running down.
"Perhaps, there was more to Slade's plan? If he wished for Robin to be as you say, safe from the blast." Agreed Starfire
Raven glares out at the city, she had no idea where that could be, that beam had taken away her powers and by default her only connection to Robin.
"It is strange" begins Starfire "I've never been unable to fly before, yet now when I wish to fly to my fullest ... I can not."
"It's different not being able to feel my powers, usually I have to fight against my anger just to keep in control."
"And your connection with Robin? Can you not feel him?" Questions Starfire
Raven lowers her head, eyes down cast "I don't feel anything"
Starfire begins to pace "Oh! There must be something we can do, We must save Robin!"
"We will" States Raven "We just have to think and focus"
Starfire's pacing increases, her fist smashing a giant hole into the gray wall "I can not focus, friend Raven. I am most worried for Robin."
Raven's forehead vein throbs in annoyance "We must control our emotions, if we're going to find Robin we have to focus, Starfire."
The redhead takes a few deep breaths, releasing them rather quickly "You are right, let us think and focus."
Starfire closes her eyes, hand curves into O's as she self mediates. Raven turns her attention back to the window, Robin was out there somewhere, but where?
Cyborg and Beast Boy had just finished clearing out the residence of the court house, both Titans discovered a larger metal contraption hidden inside the podium.
"That guy was one hammer hit away from going kaboom!" Laughs Beast Boy
Cyborg lowers to the device, scanners analyze and scanning "It's a nuclear missile, set on a timer to explode in less than three minutes."
Beast Boy's eyes widen, body taking on many different small forms before changing back normal "Dude, disarm it!"
"Hand me exactly what I tell you, BB." States Cyborg, blue sparks flying as the first layer of the nuke melted.
Beast Boy looks outside towards the scared citizens currently evacuating "Whatever you need, Cy"
The box lowers even deeper as Robin works on his escape, the manacles weren't the real issue, what he needed to focus on was the thin chain connecting the two.
The box was devoid of any weapons, but Slade had left him his utility belt. Robin smirked as he uses a R-disk to slice through.
Quickly, Robin uses his feet and combined momentum to force the lid open and fly into the air. The masked leader crouched in a battle ready position, but there's no threat in sight. The room was empty of any robots or evil villains.
"What are you up to, Slade?" Questions Robin, Slade had said his kidnapping was a test for his team, but he highly doubted that to be the truth.
His friends, the team could be in danger! Robin round kicks the door, allowing him exit from the cellar he'd been brought to.
Carefully and on guard he climbs the basement steps, mind whirling. His team had better be alright and Jump City in one piece. Another door is kicked in, this time two Slade bots try to sneak attack the boy, only Robin was prepared. The teen kicks one, while elbowing the other.
The two bots now sport matching holes in their robotic chests before keeling over.
With his two guards beaten, Robin makes his way towards the houses exit. He'd been paying very close attention to his surroundings earlier when Slade had carried him inside. The place was like a maze, twists and turns lined every entry.
Each rounded corner ended the same, two Slade bots destroyed. This game was getting on Robin's nerves, every room looked the exact same, the only way he knew he was going the right way was the robotic corpses.
Which in a way. was almost too easy. Robin knew whatever door held bots to beat, that was the way to go. "Slade's leading me,"
Only Robin couldn't afford to change the rules now, he had to get out of there and help his team, if that meant walking into Slade's trap, then so be it.
Another kick, bots down and finally light shinning from the outside. Masked eyes slowly adjust as the darkness ceases.
The feeling of heat on his costumed skin chasing away the cold consumed him as the teen takes everything in.
"Well done apprentice, not as fast as I'd thought you'd escape, but fast none the less." Comes Slade's voice from above
Robin clenched his fists, mouth snarling "What are you after, Slade? This isn't about my team."
Slade stood upon the roof, hands clasped behind his back, body standing straight "It never was Robin, it's always been about you."
Robin swiftly jumps onto the roof, R-disk held tightly in hand, the only weapons he currently had in his arsenal.
"Do you know what it's like to lose everything? That feeling of torture you can never escape?"
Robin glares, but the teen was listening intently, he'd known that feeling all too well "Doesn't matter,"
"I disagree, I think that feeling of self regret and loathing can be a good motivation."
"I don't need any motivation, especially from you." Snarls Robin, the teen seconds away from attack
Slade sighs "You'll see soon enough, Robin."
A battle cry leaves Robin's mouth as the teen charges, Slade swiftly twisting his body, grabbing hold of Robin from behind on the 360 turn. "Just sit back and watch, Robin. Watch as the City and friends you love are destroyed."
Robin's eyes widen, he writhes in Slade's unrelenting grip "The Titans will stop you!"
Slade laughs under the mask, his grip on Robin tightened, the teens feet now completely off the ground, arms trapped at his sides. "Watch, young apprentice."
Raven screams from the flood rushing to her head, grey hands digging into her scalp.
Starfire rocking her friend by her shoulders "Raven! Raven, are you alright? Is it Robin, do you feel him? Raven!"
Flashes of the forest, the house and Slade's armor rush into Raven's mind, only this was a place she'd never nor seen before.
"Not ... My ... Eyes" speaks Raven pained, she was viewing what Robin had, her friends emotions of fear rushing throughout her entire system "Robin!"
Starfire gasps, still rocking Raven, now a bit harder than before "Friend Raven, what are you sensing? Is Robin alright? Please, I must know!"
Sweat trickles down Raven's brow "House ... Forest ... Slade!"
Starfire rushes towards the window, green eyes catching sight of the forest, Robin was out there somewhere "Raven, is there not anything else?"
Raven grasps her head harder, Robin's emotions were everywhere, he was feeling and fighting Slade with everything he had in him, unknowingly transferring everything to her.
"Slade ... House ... Holding Robin ... Titans tower ... Let go! LET GO!!" Raven collapsed, the emotions being too much for her as she passes out.
"Raven!" Screams Starfire, the redhead holding the now unconscious purple haired girl "Friend Raven, please wake up!"
Starfire lowers Raven's form onto the couch "Do not worry friend Raven, I will save Robin and we will return."
The red haired female walks to Robin's room, Cyborg had taken the car, but she'd need a ride.
"Forgive me Robin, I am invading your private quarters." Starfire grabs the R-bike helmet, strapping the gear a top her head "But, I will do whatever It takes to save you."
Light invades the garage as the door slowly lifts, Starfire revving the R-bikes engine in preparation "Hang on, Robin."
