Can you believe we'll be returning to Earth next chapter?! Gasp! Excitement!
Kara sat boredly playing with her fingernails while Dragan was typing away on the console. "Soooo how much longer til we get to...to uh..."
"ZZ3 Plural X Beta Galaxy," Donnie reminded her with an exhausted expression on his face. "And it's still a long ways away. Even warping is taking forever."
"Yeah, I'd say the far edge of the known universe is a long way." Leo said tiredly rubbing his eye and yawned, leaning back against the seat with his hands behind his head.
"The planet itself is Magdomar, which translates as "Planet of Ever-Burning Fire." Bleep." Fugitoid explained.
"Oh, man! Couldn't we just once go to a planet of Comfy Pillows and Endless Free Pizza?"
"Only in your dreams, Mikey." Kara yawned but went quiet when Fugitoid continued.
"It's also the home of Tokka, one of the Six Great Cosmic Monsters of the Universe.. It is an ancient Vorkathian Fire Beast protecting the final fragment of the Black Hole Generator with it's life."
"If we could keep from losing it this time, we might pull this off." Casey added in.
"Then aw we need tae do is retrieve the two bak from Mozar an the Triceraton army. That, itself, would be a difficult battle."
"I believe we'd be the victors of that battle. Nothing will stop us from saving our home and families." Kara grinned at her making Dragan smile and nod. "Indeed."
The crew had finally warped into the X Beta System.
"Now approaching Magdomar. The Triceraton fleet must be near. We must avoid them at all cost. Bloop."
April heard the sensors go off and pulled them up on screen. "I see them! On the other side of the planet."
"Thay're closin' in.."
"And they're launching Raptors!" Donnie added in to Dragan's sentence.
"They're gonna find the Black Hole thing before us!"
"Not if we get there first, Mikey!" Kara grinned, pulling the flap on her cap over her eyes.
"And it's not a thingy! It's-nevermind. Let's do this. It's our last chance!" Raph rolled his eyes with a sigh.
"Mr. Fugitoid, full speed ahead." Leo grinned staring with determination at the planet.
"Booyakasha!" Fugitoid shouted as the ship picked up speed towards Magdomar.
When they finally made it to the planet's surface it was covered in magma, lava, volcanoes, and pointy rocks.
"Woah! Fire burps, dude!"
"Actually, this is the mild, calm part of the planet."
"You weren't kidding..did this place always look like this?" Kara asked looking around.
"Thare's barely any flat surfaces for us tae land on.."
"There! That's where the Utrom said the fragment resides."
"Then let's grab it pronto!" Casey said to Fugitoid.
"I see it!" Kara smiled in excitement as Fugitoid had the ship hover above it turning on the beam to bring up the fragement.
"Come on. Come on.." Donnie muttered watching as the beam was lifting up bits and pieces of rock, the fragment shaking but in the end, wouldn't budge.
"What's the hold up?" Raph asked walking up to the screen beside Leo.
"It's stuck. It'll have to be a manual op."
"The sooner the better. Keep it stealthy, guys."
Leo nodded to Dragan, smiling. "We'll need a clear landing spot."
"Goodluck finding one here..." Kara looking around at the map.
"Hmmm...How about over there?" Leo points to the map showing a large enough area for them to land on.
"That should work. Nice" Kara gave him a thumbs up and went to go gear up.
"So, uh, where is this Tokka creature, Professor?" Donnie asked nervously.
"Somewhere close by, but if we act quickly, we-" Suddenly, the ship jerked, a loud crash being heard around them causing everyone to stumble around.
"Donnie, report! Who fired on us?"
"I did! Lord Dregg, you idiotic mutant Terrans." Dregg appeared on screen.
"Oh, no not him again. Seriously?" Donnie sighed placing his hand to the side of his head.
"Oh, sorry Lord Dregg. We hae so many enemies, ya see, that we didn't know which one was stalkin' us this time!"
"Did you shell-dwellers think that you can escape my wrath? You destroyed my Scorpinoid! He was my favorite pet. I loved him..Now, Prepare to meet a horrifying and depressing end."
"I'm always prepared for that. When all you have left is a humanoid brain you tend to get-"
"Evasive actions!" Leo shouted, pointing at Dregg.
"Dude, do we need to talk?" Kara asked Fugitoid.
"No time for that now, Kara, but later would be nice." He smiled at her before flying the ship away from Dregg's attacks.
After Dregg had managed to hit the ship multiple times, an alarm began to blare. "Shields are weakening!" April reported.
"I think we're in a teensy, tiny spot of trouble. Just a teensy spot, not to worry."
"Are ye sure about that, Professor?"
"Taking a lot of damage!" Donnie shouted as the ship maneuvered past a rock formation, trying to out fly Dregg.
"It's hatching eggs again! That is just so gross!" April scrunched her nose in disgust as Kara and Dragan stood. "We'll handle those! Time to gear up, Dre!"
"Finally!" Dragan grinned as they ran to grab their equipment and used their jet-packs to fly out the ship and towards the Vreen, taking them on in a sky battle.
"Woo-hoo!" Kara flew towards a Vreen bringing out her blades and sliced it's wings off, watching it fall towards the lava. She grinned as another came flying at her but she flew over it, slicing it's wings off as well and laughed. "Never gets old."
After slicing one in two and cutting off the head of another, Dragan turned to her, nodding. "Couldn't agree more." She placed her hand to her helmet, turning on her headpiece, speaking into the mic. "Aw Vreen are accounted for. Headin' bak tae mothership."
"Stay out there. Our converters are failing so we'll be landing soon enough."
"Follow behind the ship once we take care of Dregg." Leo added to Fugitoids sentence, able to hear Raph yelling something to Casey.
Dragan looked to Kara who nodded hearing what they all said and flew over towards her. "Guess it's only a matter of ti-and he's down." They both looked over seeing Dregg's ship explode and a ball of fire screaming and falling in the distance.
"Thay did it! Hah-ha! Nice!"
"And they hit a rock..and now they're crashing..Let's go help them." Kara snickered while Dragan was giggling as they flew over to the ship, landing on the ground and waiting for them outside.
Fugitoid opens the door, letting everyone out.
"I will repair the converters while you find the final piece of the Black Hole Generator. Head North. Goodluck, my friends. Stay cool." Fugitoid bursts out laughing. "You get it? I made a funny."
Raph and Casey groaned at his attempt at a joke while Kara was giggling though it was more on his excitement than at the joke itself.
Kara and Dragan floated behind the others, using their jetpacks. "I don't see why you guys don't use them. It'll be a lot easier to get to the fragment with them on."
"Rememer those space gremlins?" Raph asked, glancing towards them.
"Yeah."
"Sorta."
"Well, when they were all taken care of and we were cleaning up after their mess...we found out they got into the armory and took bites out of our jetpacks. They didn't even eat them! They just took a single bite out of each one!" Raph yelled in anger.
"Sounds to me like it's a case of Goldilocks and the three bears." Kara snickered to them.
"This ones too hot! This ones too cold! This one smells!" Dragan added, giggling, both of them now laughing.
"But seriously you guys had better hurry up. It's only a matter of time before-"
"Daah!" Mikey shouted hopping from one rock to another almost falling into the lava water.
"-Before that." Kara looked from Mikey to the others. The girls followed behind the others, Donnie using his scanner on his staff to lead the way when the rock they were on shook violently causing the lava to erupt behind them, sending a wall of lava where towards them. They all screamed in panic, running away from it. "This whole planet's out to get us!" Mikey yelled as he and the others ran across a pathway.
April suddenly tripped and the whole pathway began to crack and crumble with April and Casey still on it. They both ran as fast as they could towards the turtles and when they went to jump they missed by an inch and began to fall while screaming. Mikey went to reach out for them but Dragan and Kara flew down towards them, grabbing them before they could fall into the lava. They quickly flew back up to where they guys were and set them down.
"Phew, thanks guys." April looked up at them sighing in relief.
"Nice save back there." Casey gave them both a thumbs up.
"Of course. I'm sure you guys would of done the same for us." Kara smiled and looked to Dragan who nodded in agreement.
"Phew. That was way too close-Ahhh!" All of a sudden, Dregg's ship sped out of nowhere, snatching Mikey from the ground.
"MIKEY!" Both girls screamed and fired up their jet-packs, flying after him.
"I got him!" April shouted firing her shooter at the ship.
"Dragan! Distract Dregg!" Kara shouted seeing them up ahead. She gasped when she saw Dregg's ship release Mikey sending him falling to the lava. She used the boosters, soaring towards him, reaching her arms out. Just before he could make contact with the lava, Kara snatched him up and flew towards a formation unaware that a bubble of lava hit one of her packs and was beginning to melt through it. "You ok, Mikey?" She gently set him down seeing he wasn't responding til he opened his eyes, looking around. He then jumped up, hugging her tightly. "You're my hero!" This made her smile and she hugged him back. "Aw, Mikey."
Everyone caught up to them and looked to see Dragan fighting off Dregg.
"Grr, why doesn't that insect give up?" Kara went to join her when her jet-pack made a loud banging sound that surprised her enough to have her take it off when she saw the hole inside one of the packs. "Oh great, what now?" After that sentence she heard Dragan's yell grow louder til she landed right on top of her, both of them falling to the ground.
"Och! That low life took out ma jet-pack! Huh? Oh, sorry, Kara..." She rubbed the back of her helmet smiling apologetically when Dregg flew above them, glaring down at them.
April immediately started firing at him once more but her weapons had no effect on him; chuckling darkly as he felt nothing and sent a hoard of rocket bombs at them. Everyone yelled out in surprise. When the smoke cleared everyone looked to see April using her powers to levitate the bombs in the air.
"Woaaah..."
"I need some telekinesis." Raph muttered in awe.
April smirked and sent the bombs back at Dregg; the bombs making contact and sending him flying into a wall and falling to the ground, having injured one of his wings. Everyone stood in front of him with their weapons out. "So, ready to surrender yet, Dregg?" Kara asked with a grin on her face.
"Why won't you just let me end your pitiful lives?!"
"Nae everyone gets what thay want, Dre-woah!" The ground around them shook and seemed to be breaking apart. This distraction gave Dregg enough time to bring out his spider hand and sent it towards April but Mikey pushed her out of the way and got caught in it's string instead, it dragging it back to it's master.
"Mikey, no!" Kara went for him but another violent quake caused her to stumble backwards and fall over. She heard a loud crack and saw Dregg beginning to fall with a hold on Mikey still.
"Mikey!" Dragan went after him but sighed in relief when Leo came in and sliced the string off Mikey, setting him free.
They all went to the edge to see Dregg be taken care of once and for all.
"Finally. Dregg's harder to squish than a cockroach."
"We'd better haul shell before the Triceratons find us."
"Or that Tohka creature." Dragan nodded to Leo when the area around them shook once more, this time, Dragan could of sworn she heard a rumbling roar.
"Woah, excuse me, dudes. Had a little gas." Mikey smiled, patting his chest.
Donnie took a step forward looking around and seeing large lava falls exploding around them. "These earthquakes are being caused by an unstable magmaahhh!" Once again, the whole area shook but this time it was more violent than the last resulting in everyone falling to the ground with force. Dragan looked up hearing Raph screaming and saw him slide off the edge and she and Leo made their way as fast as they could to where Raph was, seeing him on a small ledge close to the lava.
"Raph, you ok?" Leo called out to him.
"I'm alright."
"Do ye need some help?"
"I'll be fine." He gave them a thumbs and they nodded standing up straight.
"I dunno about ya guys but those quakes are becomin' more frequent. We need tae hurry up before this whole planet explodes in on itself."
"Agreed and since we're all going on foot we'd better quicken our pace." Kara crossed her arms and looked around til she heard Raph calling to them.
"Hey, guys! Look!"
They walked over to see a baby turtle alien sitting on Raph's shoulder. Both the girl's eyes widened and sparkled as it let out a tiny, squeaky roar. "AWWW!!" Kara took the baby from his shoulder and began to pet it. "He's so adorable! Hey, there little guy." She began scratching under it's chin making it smile and close it's eyes while lifting it's head up as much as it could and tilting it to the side to where it fell over on it's back. Despite the spikes on it's back they were dull so it caused no damage to her hand.
"Aw, look at him!" Dragan giggled and started rubbing it's tummy, one of it's legs wiggling at how good it felt.
"A baby turtle? What'd you do, lay an egg down there?" Casey asked looking from the girls to Raph.
"Not a good time to adopt an alien pet, Raph." Donnie said with his hands on his hips.
"Aw, look. He's almost as cute as me." Mikey took him from the girls, who immediately protested, and raised him up to get a good look at him.
"Hey! I found him first." Raph snatched the baby from Mikey and began to stroke it's nose. It sniffed at him curiously before chomping it's mouth over his finger. "Youch!" Raph jumped in surprise but smiled down at the little creature. "Hmm. How about I call you Chompy Picasso."
"Raph, what you need to do is find out who his mom is and give him back." April said softly.
"AW! No!" Both girls pouted, giving her the puppy eyes.
"Forget it! We're on a mission to save Earth, not alien turtles." Leo interjected, slicing his arm to show it was the final straw.
"Hold up, we gotta-" Raph gasps softly, looking up, "-Take cover." Everyone ran for cover before the three raptors coming their way could spot them. When they landed three Triceratons came out of the ship and used high tech binoculars to spot the last piece.
"Captain Mozar, I've located the Black Hole Weapon fragment. Dregg made good on his intel."
Mozar then appeared before them and snatched the binoculars from the soldier and spotted it as well. "There it is. The final piece of the Heart of Darkness. The Emperor will reward me gloriously.
"Oh no, they found it." Donnie whispered as everyone popped their heads up from hiding.
"We gotta stop them somehow.." Kara whispered but blinked when Chompy let out a loud chortle. "Ah, no, bad Chompy!" She whispered harshly, dropping to the ground.
"What is that?" Mozar asked while looking around his soldiers immediately firing where the noise came from.
"Oh, snap. Let's make a break for it, homies!" Mikey shouted, diving for the floor. Leo grunted and brought out his weapon, beginning to fire at the Triceratons with Kara and April. "Retreat! Retreat!" He shouted as everyone gathered together.
"Later, dino dudes!" Mikey shouted, bringing out a smoke bomb and threw it to the ground and disappeared in a cloud of purple smoke.
Arriving at the location they walked right up to the last piece.
"Fugitoid, we found the fragment. We'll have it loose in no time. We need a pick-up now!" Leo said through the comms to the Professor.
"Oh, dear. I haven't got the ship's power back online yet."
"We've been out here for hours! What have you been doing?!" Kara yelled through her comms.
"Don't pressure me, young lady!" Fugitoid yelled on the other side.
"What are we suppose to do, carry it on our shells?"
"We'll think o' a way, Leo, for now let's just get the thing loose. Come on." Dragan took a step towards it as Chompy let out another chortle.
"Hey, little guy, if I knew how to find your mama, I'd-" Without any warning a loud roar was heard and the ground they were on began to move, literally. The ground began tilting upwards and everyone lost their footing and began tumbling towards the edge but Raph quickly grabbed onto a spike and soon everyone had made a human/turtle mutant rope.
"Wow, that was awesome! Good save, Raph." Mikey looked up at him when the ground turned around revealing it was Tokka all along; it letting out a mighty roar.
"Holy Chalupa...Fugitoid wasn't kidding.." Kara tensed up feeling herself being lowered inch by inch. "Uh-oh.."
"Slipping...too much...weight!" Raph's hand slipped and they all began to fall towards the lava, screaming in fright when a large piece of ground floated up, breaking their fall.
"Ugh, I don't know how much more I can tak o' this planet.." Dragan dropped her head to the ground with a sigh.
"The fragment's still stuck to Tokka's shell!" Donnie yelled.
"Triceratons have it's attention now." Leo watched as the Triceratons fired at Tokka though it's firepower only seemed to anger it as it went to lash out, destroying a spike in the process as the pieces began falling around them all, everyone making a break for someplace to hide.
"April, Casey, get behind some cover." Donnie grabbed a hold of Casey shoving him behind a formation of rocks, Dragan grabbing April and they all pressed themselves against the rock, panting heavily.
"Fugitoid, we're gonna try and grab the fragment, so get the tractor beams ready."
"I'll be finished in two shakes of a dongle, Leo. Over and out."
"So what do we do? The only way to get that thing is to climb Tokka." Mikey turned around to look at the humongeous creature.
"That's the plan, Mikey." Leo placed his hand on his shoulder before running off.
"It is?" Mikey whimpered in fear.
"Keep Chompy safe." Raph said while handing him to April. "You'll be ok with April, little buddy."
"Can't I stay with the-"
"Move." Dragan dragged her away while Kara waved goodbye, giving them sad puppy dog eyes.
"Guys! Be careful!" April shouted after them.
Kara and Dragan followed after the guys, using their grappling hooks to grab onto Tokka's shell. They let out a startled yell when Tokka began to turn around to where April and Casey were, letting out another roar.
"This little creature..is the monster's baby."
"Tokka's a mom?!" Raph yelled in bewilderment.
"Aw, that's adorable." Mikey smiled.
"Uh-oh, they're in trouble.." Kara said as Tokka slapped away the rocks April and Casey were behind and lowering it's face to them, letting out another roar.
April hunched her shoulders and walked up to it, setting Chompy on it's jaw. "No charge for babysitting." Once Chompy was safe inside it's mouth it stood up but the Triceratons began their attack once more, more raptors flying into view.
"We need tae hurry! Let's go while the Triceratons are distracted!" Dragan shouted as she began heading to the fragment with Kara and the others behind her unaware that Raph went after Chompy.
"We're almost there, team." Leo shouts as one by one the guys began to push the piece forward, hoping to lift it up enough to get it unstuck and soon the girls add in their strength. "Push! Give it everything you got!" The sound of scraping metal hit their ears and they pushed harder but the weight was too much for them to handle and it toppled over them, falling down towards the lava.
"Oh, no! The thingy piece!" Mikey shouted watching it as time seemed to slow down, the last piece about to fall into the lava when a beam froze it in mid-air before it could make contact.
"I've got it in my tractor beam! Pulling it in now!" Fugitoid stated over the radio causing everyone to cheer. "Too bad the lava isn't hot enough to destroy it but we will-" Fugitoid let out a large gasp as Dregg's ship snatched the last piece out of the beam and flew off with it, laughing his maniacal laugh. "So long, suckers!"
"Why won't that bug just die already?!" Kara yelled while kicking the ground til Fugitoid used the tractor beam to bring them back to the ship, everyone rushing to their stations.
"Welcome back. Apologies for losing the fragment."
"Just stay on Dregg. Don't let him escape!"
"Um, guys?" April looked from her console to Leo. "Is she coming after us or Dregg?"
"She can fly?!" Leo and Kara shouted in unison.
"She's gonna ram our ship!" Mikey yelled as Tokka flew past them, the force from her knocking the ship around with them inside it. "She's still after Dregg." Casey said looking at the screen.
"Oh, no. Dregg's heading for Mozar's Destroyer!"
"Ye don't think he has enough fire power tae tak down one o' the cosmic monsters...do ya?" Dragan looked from Leo to the screen, having a sudden bad feeling in her gut.
They watched as Tokka climbed onto the Destroyer and began to feel like she could take them on when the Destroyer fired some missiles.
"Um, guys? The Triceratons are firing rockets straight into that dwarf star."
"Surely they would not be so foolish as to trigger the destruction of that dying star. Oh wh-wha-woah-what am I saying? Of course they would!"
"Those, moronic, dinosaurs!" Kara yelled in anger as the rockets made contact with the star. A bright light flashed and suddenly it exploded, sending a massive wave towards them. The ship stumbled around but soon was able to warp out of the area before they could get caught in the explosion.
"I..I can't believe it..thay actually succeeded in destroyin' Tokka.." Dragan stood there in shock til she looked over at Raph with sorrow.
"Chompy..was with her. And now..now he's gone."
"Then who's this hitching a ride on your shell?" Mikey moved beside Raph pointing in time for Chompy to show himself and jump into Raph's hand.
"Chompy! Aw, little guy! You're ok! But..but what about Tokka? She was just trying to protect the fragment and Chompy." Raph held him close and looked up at Leo as he spoke.
"What about Earth?" He asked softly looking to the girls who almost looked defeated.
"Setting a course for the Milky Way Galaxy." Fugitoid commented.
"Woah. Someone's trying to hack our monitors."
"Dregg again?" Donnie rolled his eyes with a sigh.
"Terrans, observe." Mozar appeared on screen and moved aside, waving his hand backwards to show them all something. "The Black Hole Generator is complete. We are soon to test it on a planet you know all too well. A planet called Earth."
Everyone stared at the screen in shock. Kara clenched her fists tightly together, glaring darkly at Mozar.
