Two for two! As an apology x3 On with the story!
"Woah, dudes..this place is amazing!" Mikey ran around their new home laughing excitedly. "It's like, two times bigger than your old place!"
"So this is what you guys were doing after the Triceraton invasion." Raph crossed his arms. "I like it."
"You loved your other place though. Why did you leave?" Donnie asked looking at all the new furniture and blinked in surprise seeing something different that she didn't have at her old place, there was a wall of her and them along with different people like Casey, April, and the other Casey as well as a few people he hadn't met. He smiled at all the memories before looking over at the two as they sat down on the couch.
"That..is kind o' why we wanted ya guys tae be 'ere. Wait, where's Leo?" Dragan looked around.
"He's probably out doing some training." Raph and the others came around them.
Dragan played with her hoodie string nervously. "See, the thing is.."
"Tigerclaw found out where we lived. I left my cap when he were under their control from the brain worm and he was able to track us down with my scent.."
"So we had tae move."
"It's all my fault. I shouldn't have left it behind." Kara clenched her fists with her head lowered. Feeling a hand on her shoulder she looked up seeing Donnie smiling softly at her. "Hey, it's ok. We all make mistakes. You guys were smart to move though."
"Yeah, and look what happened. You moved into an even more awesome place!" Mikey smiled at them.
"Really? Ya guys aren't mad that we didn't tell ya sooner?"
"We kinda had a lot on our plate to begin with you know, with the whole outer space thing." Raph shrugged.
"You know what we should do?" Mikey leaned close smiling excitedly only to have Raph shove him away.
"Heh, what?" Kara asked.
"PIZZA PARTY!" He threw his hands in the air making the girls laugh and nod, joining in.
-Days later-
"You enter the treasure vault when three Pus Trolls attack! It's a trap! Ice Cream Kitty?" April looked over at ICK as they meowed and rolled. "Ooh,sixteen. The Pus Trolls are frozen by your ice spell. But the Slime King Approaches!"
Chompy comes out of hiding and blows fire breath towards Ice Cream Kitty which makes her uncomfortable. "Raph! Chompy is making Ice Cream Kitty melt." Mikey jumps in, putting his arms around her protectively.
"That's because she's cheating. Ugh, and the ice cream is getting the dice all sticky."
"I think someone is just getting jealous cause they're not in the league." Kara smirked while playing on her phone.
Raph glared at her then looked at the sticky dice in his hand. "I don't know how you talked me into playing this stupid game again."
"Just roll, dude." Mikey gave him an annoyed look.
"Ok, I attack with my Fire Axe." Raph dropped the dice as it landed.
"Nineteen. Your attack defeats the Slime Kind, and you win his plus-two Amulet of Audacity." April smiled at him.
"Yes! In your face, Kitty!" Raph stood to his feet grinning and pointed at Ice Cream Kitty which, she wasn't too happy about; letting out a low growl.
"Hey, Leo, aren't you going to play?" Donnie looks over at him as Kara leans against him with a content sigh.
"What? Oh, no, you guys go ahead."
"Shh, guys, look." Dragan raised the volume so the others could hear as the news reports a fire. "Breaking news from Chinatown, where a fire has burned down a mob warehouse, destroying millions in cash. Some face-painted gang members arrested at the scene failed to comment." Dragan lowered the volume and turned to the others.
"Bet you anything that place was Shredder's." Raph walked up to her and Leo, crossing his arms
"I hae a feeling whose responsible for this." Dragan set the remote down staring at the TV. "Dudes, look at their faces." Mikey pointed and laughed at the Purple Dragons and Hun.
"That's definitely looks like the handiwork of that crazy girl Karai's running around with." Donnie said looking over at Kara. "Atleast they're having a good time destroying Shredder's property." Kara set her phone down and shook her head.
"Should we do something? Leo?" April looked down at him but he remained quiet.
"Not gonna defend Karai, eh?" Raph stared at him but blinked when Leo suddenly stood up and walked away. "Whatever, Raph. I'm out of here."
Dragan stood to her feet and watched him leave, worried for him.
"I don't know, guys. I got a weird feeling Leo's hiding something."
"Like what?" Dragan turned to her starting to become nervous.
"I'm not sure. I think he's up to something with Karai."
"Ye don't think he's...helpin' her, do ya?" Dragan's voice was soft and filled with doubt.
Kara watched her friend and closed her eyes. "Only one way to find out."
Later that night when everyone was asleep Kara stood in the shadows of the sewers and waited patiently for Leo, her eyes closed. When she saw movement she lifted her head and waited til he was a ways past her before following after him, noting his silhouette wasn't the same. "What're you doing, Leo?"
She followed him through the streets below him so he wouldn't notice and found him sneaking through the roof of Shredder's old Lair. She narrowed her eyes in anger thinking he still had feelings for her and clenched her fists.
"Ah, look who finally showed up." Shinigami glanced back as Leo entered the room with a smirk.
"Having trouble sneaking out so Splinter doesn't see you?" Karai asked, smiling at him.
"We need to be more careful, Karai. You can't just go charging in like that. If I wasn't there as backup, you and Shinigami might have been taken down by Hun."
"Is that so?"
All three of them gasped and looked over to see Kara leaning against the doors with her arms crossed, glaring at them all.
"Kara? How'd you-"
"What are you doing here, Leo?" Kara cut his question off, walking towards them.
"Look, you don't underst-"
"I understand perfectly, Leo." Kara cut him off once more getting more angry every minute. "Do you have any idea what you're doing? Who do you think you're helping by doing all of this? Karai. Just Karai."
"It's not like that, Kara. With all of Shredder's belongings gone he won't be able to do anything." Karai stepped in, crossing her arms.
"Do you seriously believe that? All of this means nothing to him! He was willing to destroy the EARTH just to get his vengeance on Master Splinter. The only thing you're doing is annoying him!" Kara shouted, "You of all people should know this, Karai, but just like Shredder; you're blinding yourself with revenge."
All of them were surprised by Kara's words. Karai narrowed her eyes as they changed to their snake form. "Don't compare me to Shredder. I'm nothing like him! I'm trying to do good here! I'm trying to set my wrongs right!" Leo placed a hand over Karai's shoulder to calm her down and took a step towards Kara.
"You may not believe what we're doing is right but we need every advantage to take down Shredder. And we can't do it alone. Not against Shredder's army. We need your help. We need the others help."
"No."
"I knew she wasn't going to help and no one else will because Splinter won't allow it." Karai scoffed, rolling her eyes.
"And there's good reason too, Karai. Master Splinter has never been wrong before and he won't be wrong now. You do what you want, Leo. But remember, your actions will have consequences. You just better hope you're willing to face them, especially keeping this from someone who you're suppose to love. I'm out of here." She glared at him before leaving.
Leo went to take a step forward, his eyes wide in surprise. "Let her go, Leo, we can do this on our own."
"We're outnumbered. We need help." Leo turned to look at her as Kara opened the doors wide and walked out, still able to hear them.
"On that, we agree." Karai said something in Japanese while snapping her fingers. It was after that that Kara could no longer hear them.
Kara made it back home and sat in the livingroom with the lights out thinking over what just happened, nothing but the light from the moon illuminating over her where she sat. She glanced to her phone that was right beside her and opened it, squinting her eyes at the brightness and waited for it to adjust it's brightness. She blinked her eyes a couple times and read the message from Donnie about Leo. She shook her head and ignored it but was able to hear Dragan's phone going off.
Knowing she would go, she snuck back into her room and got into bed, pretending like she was asleep.
She could hear Dragan slowly opening her door to see if she was awake. When she saw no movement, she closed the door and left, deciding that Kara needed her rest.
Dragan met up with the guys by Antoine's Pizza Place where they picked her up in the Party Wagon.
"I think I found him. I tracked Leo's T-Phone to Auman Chemicals. They must be trying to take down Shredder's operation on their own."Donnie said while Raph drove. "Is he crazy?"
"Yeah, this sounds like something you would do, Raph." Mikey added in, opening the window between the front and the trunk.
"That doesn't make this better..ye shuild pick up speed." Dragan was getting more worried and Raph could see it so he did what he was told.
They stopped in the alley between the factory and jumped out of the wagon, running into the factory. They bursted through the doors, weapons out.
"Booyahak-aw, man, we missed the battle? Lame, dude."
"They gotta be here somewhere." Raph put away his weapons as they looked around for them.
Dragan heard an annoying beeping sound and went to find the source. She walked past a pillar to find a box with a blinking red light and her eyes widened. "Oh no.."
Donnie realized the same moment and shoved them all into a broom closet. "Guys, Out! Quick!" The beeping was getting faster and Dragan pulled Donnie behind her and stood in front of them protectively, pulling her shield out and clenched it with all her might as the explosives went off, the building exploding.
The let out a scream as they were burst through the brick walls and thrown out into the street, Dragan landing hard on a vehicle.
"Raph, you ok?" Mikey asked with a cough as he stood.
"Yeah, I think so. You, Don?" Raph rubbed the back of his head looking over at Donnie who slowly stood up with a groan. "Ugh, I think my shell is even more loose now. Thank's for the save, Dra-" He gasped when her hand dropped over the side of the car, her shield falling off her hand. Blood was sliding down the side of her head and she laid there, motionless but breathing, barely.
"Dragan!" Mikey and the others went over to her.
"She's not moving.." Raph said softly.
Leo, Karai, and Shinigami were escaping through the roofs when Leo spotted his brothers carrying an unconscious and bleeding Dragan and shield through the streets. "Dragan.." His eyes widened in horror. "What are they doing here?"
"Come on, Leonardo." Shinigami whispered to him.
"Just go. I have to help Dragan." He said in a near panic.
"What? Dragan?" Karai questioned in surprise only to have Shinigami pull her down as a crystallized blast hit the spot where her head was. "Senpai, we must go." Shinigami said to her.
The guys took Dragan into the Party Wagon and laid her down gently just as Leo entered the van. "What are you guys doing here?"
"What are we doing here? We were looking for you when Dragan got blown up!" Raph yelled at him while Leo shoved him out of the way and bent down to look at her.
"I know how much you like to fight, but the bad guys are still out there." Mikey interrupted the two. Leo took the wheel and drove away while Tigerclaw and The Rocksteady van chased after them.
"Don't mess with the party wagon! Cowabunga!" Mikey shouted as he launched a fart missile. Donnie was holding onto Dragan to keep her steady. They all let out a started yell as the Party Wagon was lifted off it's hind wheels and tossed to the ground when one of their wheels came off, the van sliding into an alley.
"Now, to shell some Turtles!" Tigerclaw opened the door and growled in anger when he saw no one, unaware that they escaped to the roofs.
"Sensei!" All four shouted, Donnie and Raph carrying Dragan in while Mikey held onto her shield.
"My sons!?"
They set Dragan down as Raph looked at him. "The factory! Explosions!"
"Take her to the Dojo. I will prepare the healing mantras."
"I'll get my medical kit!" Donnie ran to his lab while his brothers carried Dragan away.
Leo stood there in shock, gripping the sides of his head as Kara's words entered his mind. "Sensei, wait. It's my fault. Karai and I we've..been taking down Shredder's operations. I thought we could end this. I'm-I'm sorry.."
Master Splinter glanced at him before walking away to the Dojo without saying anything for a moment. "I have always warned you of vengeance. I am disappointed in you, Leonardo. But I am proud you had enough courage to admit your wrongdoing."
"If I had listened to Kara..If I had told the others what I was up to, they never would have gone into that building." Leo lowered his head in shame.
"It is right that you should feel pain for your mistakes. But it is one thing to regret bad decisions after they are made. A leader must forsee how bad decisions lead to bad results." Master Splinter looked over at Dragan as Donnie began to work on her head the others standing around her with worry.
Later, April found Leo sitting at the steps that lead into the water, staring at his reflection. "She's going to be ok. She's a tough girl but she'll be out for awhile.."
Leo only nodded his head.
April went to open her mouth to say something but stopped when she heard Kara's voice.
"Where is he?!"
Leo closed his eyes and stood to his feet, ready to take his punishment.
When Kara saw him walking up the steps she walked up to him and punched him across the face hard enough to have him drop to the ground. "What were you thinking? Did nothing I say mean anything to you?!" She grabbed him by his shell and pulled him to his feet, glaring directly into his eyes.
"I'm sorry. I thought I could control the situation.."
"She's not your situation to control!" She threw him onto the ground, Donnie and April now restraining her. "She's not a part of this team! She will never be! She will continue to do what she wants to do no matter what anyone has to say. You're suppose to be there for us! Our leader! Not hers! Because of your selfish actions my best friend, your girlfriend, almost died!" Kara lowered her head, her voice becoming soft. "What's it going to take for you to let go of Karai?" Kara shoved away their arms and went to the Dojo to check up on Dragan. Donnie and April looked at Leo before following after her, hopefully to calm her down.
Leo's phone went off and he looked down to see he missed a call from Karai and she sent him two new messages. Leo narrowed his eyes and stood up, going towards the livingroom where everyone was at.
"Guys, I'm sorry. I should have told you what I was up to. I know I probably don't even deserve to lead this team after what I did."
Raph stopped punching the dummy and looked at Leo before turning away with a "Humph."
Leo lowered his head, eyes saddened. "Karai's gonna keep going after Shredder. I need your help."
Leo, Raph, Mikey, and Kara entered Karai's lair, Donnie agreeing to stay behind to look after Dragan, where they found Karai sitting at Shredder's old throne and Shinigami playing with a cat.
"Leo! I didn't think you'd make it. So you're actually going against Splinter's wishes. How's your friend?"
"She'll be fine. She's a tough girl." Kara said in a not so happy tone towards Karai, her arms crossed while Mikey bent over and picked up the cat, smiling.
"Hey, Shinigami, remember me?"
"You're the silly one. I like you." Shinigami giggled, pointing at him with a wink.
"We underestimated Tigerclaw's army. There's no telling how many Footbots he has. We need to go after the source." Karai said to them.
"A Footbot Factory? Are you crazy? That place will already have thousands of soldiers made and probably watching the place." Kara said unfolding her arms.
"It'll be worth it. Without soldiers, infiltrating Shredder's secret lair will be that much easier."
"We don't even know where his secret lair is." Raph pointed out.
"I thought you liked a challenge, Raphael." Karai smirked his way. Raph looked at Leo and shook his head.
"Raph's right. I can't let you take this kind of risk."
Karai walked up to Leo, getting close while putting her hand on his shell. "I need your help on this one, Leo. For old time's sake."
Leo closed his eyes and shoved away her hand. "Sorry, Karai. Your charms won't work this time. We'll stop you if we have to."
"Have it your way." Karai turned around, having a powder bomb in her hand and cracked it open before throwing it at all of them. Kara jumped back, seeing this coming and ran towards her til Shinigami stood between them and send bats flying at them. When the bats disappeared, they were all gone.
"Well, that was a good plan." Raph muttered.
Leo took a sharp turn around a street trying to find their next location. "This is it."
"I can't believe you were working with Karai behind Splinter's back."
"You don't have to rub it in, Raph."
"No, he does. Every time you do something selfish and reckless it always has to do with her. So you're not getting off so easy, Leo." Kara glared daggers at the back of his head as she sat in Donnie's chair.
"Just saying. That sounds more like me. Remember when I wanted to dress up as the Nightwatcher vigilante, and you talked me out of it?"
"You can always be Turflytle's faithful sidekick Maggot Boy." Raph grunted in annoyance and walked up to Mikey, giving him a pounding.
-In the Factory-
"-If the Turtles arrive-"
One of the Elites was stabbed through and when it fell, Leo, Mikey, Raph, and Kara were standing there weapons at the ready. "Let them go, Tigerclaw."
Tigerclaw roared as he held up his rifle. "I can always count on the heroes." He began firing as they all charged. Raph and Kara covered Leo and Mikey as they set the girls free.
"I feel like I'm making a habit of saving you lately." Leo smiled as he helped her to her feet.
"Well, maybe if you could arrive five minutes earlier!"
"More fighting, less talking!" Kara yelled as she slid in front of them before charging at the Elite and slamming it into the lava below them.
"Look out!" Shinigami yelled to Mikey as two Elites advanced on him with his back turned and when he freed her from the chains she jumped over them, slicing one's head off with the whip tied around her hand while Mikey took care of the other one. "I like your style, witch girl."
"Then try to keep up." Shinigami shouted as she went to join the fight leaving Mikey to free the Foot Ninjas.
"I can't believe we're helping foot Soldiers fight Footbots." Raph shouted among the fighting.
"Of all the stuff we've dealt with this is what you can't believe?" Kara asked as she bent down, dodging an attack before slicing at an Elites stomach and kicking it into the lava.
"We got to shut down these robots, or we won't stand a chance."
"Why don't you just toss the bombs into the lava right now and get this over with?"
"Because we wouldn't have enough time to escape, idiot!" Karai yelled at Kara making her pout.
"Psh, touchy." Kara covered Karai while she went to place the explosives unaware of Raph trying to shut the place down.
It wasn't til a few minutes later that the bombs went off and sent Karai flying since she was close to one.
Kara saw Tigerclaw fall onto the catwalk and when a wave of lava came towards him she rushed forward and tackled him out of the way. She stared down at him a moment before hearing Leo shouting for them to move. She looked away and ran off towards the others finding a window to escape through and left.
When they were a safe distance away Kara noticed the scorch marks on her face as Leo set her down.
"Let me look at it." He went to touch it but she gently moved his hand away. "I'm fine." She walked forward and concentrated hard, using her mutant powers to shed the old skin, now looking good as new.
"I told you it was dangerous." Leo said walking up to her.
"I said I was fine."
"Fine? You were already chained up when we got there. Face it, Karai, you and make-up here would of been dead if it wasn't for us."
"My name is-"
"I don't believe that!" Kara yelled more out of annoyance than anger. "No birth certificate would ever have the name "God of Death" or whatever on it!"
Leo rolled his eyes as he lifted the manhole cover up. "Let's just go."
Back at the lair, Dragan was beginning to open her eyes.
"You ok, Dragan?" April smiled softly down at her.
"Och, I cannae tell if that ringin' is comin' from ma ears or ma brain. Make it stop. It's so annoyin'.." She looked up to see the others had returned and smiled at them. "Hey gu-"
"Dragan!" Everyone shouted as they ran towards her. "Wait, wait, I'm still sore!" She held out her arms and braced her impact as everyone jumped on her. "Paaaaiiin..."
Karai looked at them all, smiling but blinked when Leo stroked her cheek gently and kissed her on the lips. When Splinter walked up to her she closed her eyes, bowing her head some. "I'm sorry, Father. I'm glad Dragan is alright."
"Now you see the kind of pain and suffering revenge causes."
"I know. I thought I could make this about taking down Shredder's organization, but it's too much of a risk going after petty targets just to spite him. I promise I will no longer go after Shredder's possessions.."
Kara looked over at her, a smile starting to form thinking she was finally listening.
"..I'll go after Shredder himself." Karai began to walk away, Splinter closing his eyes in disappointment and the others looking on after her but Kara had an expression of rage on her face, holding her hands out and wanting to choke some sense into Karai.
