Dragan, Kara, and Casey were hanging out at the lair, sitting on the sidelines to watch the others train. Dragan was fully recovered and wanted to get right back in the fight. They all watched as Leo and Raph began to spar.
Kara and Casey noticed Raph was way into it, specially with how he was acting.
"The more you sweat in practice, the less you bleed in battle. Now quit playing games and show me what you really got!"
Dragan leaned to Kara, whispering, "Somethin's not right..Raph is actin' strange.."
Kara and Casey gasped when Raph ditched his weapons and started using advanced wrestling moves. "This is gonna get out of hand quick..." Kara whispered.
When Leo managed to put Raph in a hold and they figured it was over and done with but Raph had other plans. He linked his hands together and managed to lift Leo up with his strength alone and slam him onto the ground. He then got on top of him, punching him mercilessly. It wasn't til Casey and Master Splinter intervened, Splinter pushing Raph away and Casey locking hims arms with his.
"Raphael, enough!"
"Cool your jets, Raph!"
"Come on, Leo! Scared of a real fight?"
"No, I'm scared you've been getting more and more hostile and pulling away from the team. What gives?" Leo stood up and walked over to Raph, Casey having let go if his arms.
"I'm tired of training with kid gloves. No one's pulling punches out there. Why should we do it in here?" Raph turned around and shoved Leo away.
"Raph!"
"Teishi." Master Splinter put his arm in front of Leo to stop him. "Because you are brothers, and your goal here is to train."
"Sensei, why do you always stick up for Leo? I'm the only one who takes training seriously. The rest of 'em are just goofing off all the time."
"Raph, you must understand. There's a difference between training and merciless beating. That line was crossed today and it is one that should not be crossed." Casey went to put his hand on his shoulder but was surprised when Raph shoved his hand away. "Grr! What do you know?!"
Casey clenched his fist and stepped up to Raph, staring down at him with a cold stare, his voice low and calm. "More than you know, boy."
All Raph could do was stare up at him with wide eyes.
Kara tensed up and began to fear for Raph's life at his mistake.
"Feh, w-whatever. You don't understand. You don't get it." Raph moved away from him.
Donnie narrowed his eyes before beginning to fake cry. "Waah No one appreciates me. Back on the "everyone loves Leo" routine? Get some new material, you big baby."
This earned a laugh from Mikey and more anger from Raph. "That's it! If you guys don't want to take this as seriously as I do, then I quit! I'm done. Through! Adios!"
Leo sighed as he and the others watched Raph leave. "How many times has he quit the team?"
"Mm, twenty-seven times."
Kara sighed softly, closing her eyes and whispered, "You're not helping, Donnie."
Master Splinter stomped his walking stick onto the ground to get their attention. "You have a brilliant mind, Donatello, yet you see a fire and try to put it out with gasoline. You are growing up, my sons, and you must become more mature. One day, I will not be around to remind you of your foibles."
"Is a foible that little dangly thing in the back of my throat?" Mikey whispered to Donnie.
"That's a uvula." Dragan glanced over at him.
"Foible means a weakness of character, shellbrain." Donnie raised his hand and Mikey flinched ready to take the hit but blinked when he got a pat on the head instead.
"Master, you've made it through the worst of the worst, and we're gonna make sure that nothing can-"
"Everything is impermanent, Leonardo." Master Splinter cut Leo's sentence off. "You cannot expect anything to last forever, even..family."
They all heard a commotion and saw the Might Mutanimals walk into the room.
"Greetings, Turtles." Slash said, smiling to them.
"Leatherhead!" Both Mikey and Kara ran to him, Kara hugging his chest while Mikey rubbed his muzzle. "It's good to see you, my friends."
"Dude, Mondo Gecko. When did you join the team, bro?"
"Alittle while back. They totally love my fighting style. Hiyah!" Mondo hit his skateboard in the air while Kara and Dragan walked up to him.
"Mondo Gecko?"
"I remember ya from the invasion but..hae we met before?"
Both girls seemed just as confused as the other.
"Oh yeah, this was around the time you two were under Shredder's control. Kara, Dragan, meet Mondo Gecko. He's a friend of mine." Mikey smiled at the two then to Mondo.
"Au chantea, madamoseilles." Mondo grabbed each of their hands and kissed them, wiggling his eyelids at them making both of them giggle and Leo and Donnie angry.
"Ok, that's enough." Leo pulled Dragan away while Donnie lifted Kara up and set her down on the other side of him. "So, where's Pigeon Pete?"
"We uh..don't talk about Pigeon Pete." Slash only smiled but from the way Rockwell's eyes shifted, something must have happened.
"So what brings my mutant friends here?" Casey walked up with his arms wide, smiling to them.
"We need your help, guys." Slash began.
"We've uncovered plans to develop mutant-hunting weapons. I telepathically discovered that Don Vizioso wants to take control of the city now that Shredder has vanished, and the Don knows the only thing that stands between him and his vile goals-"
"-Is us." Leo lowered his head, narrowing his eyes in thought.
"We need to take down the Don and his goons before he takes us down."
Leo nodded, smiling at Slash and looked over at Donnie. "Donnie, can you track Raph down in the Party Wagon? If he's out there alone.."
"Sure, I probably owe him an apology, anyway."
"Want us to come?" Kara asked as she and Dragan stepped forward.
"No, I should be fine. I'll be careful."
"Just in case..Mondo." She turned her head towards him making him jump and stand at attention. "Watch over my Donnie, would you?"
"You got it, ma'am!" Mondo smiled wide and raised his skateboard while shouting in excitement, making Donnie groan but decided not to protest. "Come on, Mondo." Both of them ran to the garage and left in the Party Wagon.
Casey and Kara were in the dojo watching Dragan train while the guys and Mighty Mutanimals were discussing their plan for the anti-mutant weapons.
"Gah, we should be the ones out there! If it only effects mutants then we should be in the front lines, not them!"
"They must have a plan. This is an organized crime boss we're dealing with, not some Purple Dragon punks. Perhaps they are just wanting to keep you guys safe. If they were to find out about you guys like Shredder's goons did..who knows what could happen. They nor I can always be around to help.." Casey placed a cigarette to his lips but didn't go for his lighter.
"It still isn't right. We've taken on mutants an aliens alike. Dealin wi a bunch o' fancy dressed criminals shouldn't matter." Dragan swung her sword down hard and sighed softly. She looked up when Leatherhead ran into the room and stood up straight, putting away her sword.
"Leatherhead, what's up?" Kara and Casey stood to their feet noting the distressed look in his eyes. "I have terrible news, my friends.." Leatherhead turned to Kara and gave her a sad look making her eyes widen, clenching her fists tight.
While the guys and Mighty Mutanimals went inside the restaurant to speak to the Don personally, Casey and the girls waited outside, leaning against the Shellraiser. Kara was in her Blind Bandit mode, Dragan wore her cloak to cover her face, and Casey wore a bandana over the lower half of his face.
"I should be in there" Kara slammed her fist against the side of Shellraiser, gritting her teeth in anger.
"Calm down, Kara, the guys have it covered." Casey placed his hand on her shoulder to calm her down. "If anything happens to them, we need to be there to get them to safety. If something were to happen to us now then they'd be in even more trouble when we'd be needed the most."
"I know you're worried for Donnie, we aw are. Leo isn't the leader for nothin'. He will come up wi a plan." Dragan placed her hand on her other shoulder, smiling.
All of them gasped hearing gunfire inside the restaurant.
"Time to move!" Casey shouted and they all burst through the door.
Seeing the gangsters firing at her friends, Dragan ran at full speed and jumped in front of her friends and Leo, using her shield to deflect the bullets. Kara and Casey were helping the others take care of the goons when Casey saw the red smoke coming from the Don's chair and blinked when he started floating in the air from his chair.
"Oh, you gotta be kidding me..Guys, the masks!" Casey shouted to Kara and Dragan. He pulled up the bag he was carrying and tossed a mask to Slash and Rockwell while Kara helped Leatherhead and Dragan took care of Leo and Mikey.
"I see we have some hippie mutant lovers. No matter. We'll whack 'em just the same." The Don said with maniacal laughter, kicking his feet in the air while he made his retreat.
"Grab him!" Leo and the others went after him but kept getting stopped by the many goons the Don had. Kara and Casey would intervene, getting them off their friends when the twins started firing at them.
"Wastin' mutants: first respectable thing we done for the city!" One of the twins shouted as they continued to fire. Dragan ran at them with her shield out and took them out with it.
Once all the chaos was over with and the smoke had cleared, the Don had escaped.
"Can't believe it!" Kara kicked away a chair in anger at how the fatso had managed to escape. Dragan placed a hand on her shoulder and looked over at her friends. "Come on, let's head bak tae the lair. We'll be able tae figure it out from thare."
Kara closed her eyes and sighed softly before moving to Leatherhead, helping him to his feet.
Casey drove them to the Mighty Mutanimals hide out to discuss their plan of attack.
"The Don's got a stronghold at the Highnight Hotel in the Bowery. No one gets in, and no one gets out. If he's holding anything valuable, that's where it will be." Slash smoothed out a map that he had been keeping of the city and pointed to the location.
"Including captives." Leatherhead added in.
"Then I say-" Kara and the others looked up hearing the doors open, turning to see a bruised and battered Raph limping towards them.
"Raph!" All of them shouted and ran to him and helped him sit down. "You ok, Raph?" Dragan gently rubbed his shell as he held his head in shame. "I blew it. I led 'em right into a trap."
"Hey, we're a team, and we cover each other's mistakes. We'll get them back." Leo placed his hand on his shoulder and smiled. Raph gave him a smile in return before turning to Kara, looking at her with sadness and figured she hated him. He blinked in surprise when she hugged him, sighing in relief. "I'm just glad you're safe and we WILL get them back. That fatso and his goonies messed with the wrong people er..and mutants." Kara glanced back at her friends and smiled before grinning down at him.
"Then we better move. Whatever he wants Donnie and Gecko for, it's not good."
"Speakin' o' that, we, as in Kara an I, hae a plan." Dragan crossed her arms, grinning.
-At the Hotel-
The muffled yell of one of the goons signaled the girls and Casey to walk out from the shadows in the same get up from the restaurant, making their way to the entrance.
"Hey! What are ya doin'? Don't leave your post!" The other goons guarding the door went after them only to scream, "Mutants!" and get taken care of by the Mighty Mutanimals.
Kara lead them to where she could see Donnie and Mondo are. The goons in the hall spotted them and aimed their weapons at them while shouting, "Hey!" But before they could even make a move, the guys out and attacked them leaving the girls and Casey to make their way to where Donnie is.
Kara stopped in front of the door and opened it calmly, staring at the twins and the floating fatso.
"Yes, finally!" Donnie popped his head out from his shell, smiling ear to ear.
"Dudes, get me outta here! I gotta pee so bad!" Mondo rocked them both making Kara smile in relief.
"So, the mutant hippies have returned." Don said with a mouthful of salami.
"I'm only going to tell you this once, Don...let my friends go or," Kara tilted her head towards the door as the guys flow into the room with their weapons out, "My friends and I are going to have to teach you a lesson." Kara smirked right at the Don but blinked when he began to laugh.
"You and your friends don't stand a chance. Take a look." The Don held up a remote and turned on the TV behind them to show one of his henchmen taking on Leatherhead and Slash. "Your biggest muscle is gettin' pulverized by the Hammer! He's my best guy! No one can take him down."
"Then I guess he'll be too busy to protect you!" Mikey grinned, spinning his nunchuks.
"Why you! Destroy 'em!" The Don shouted in anger.
"With pleasure!" One of the twins shouted as they went to attack them but Leo and Raph intervened.
The Don began floating around, laughing and kicking his feet as a missile launcher came from under his chair and fired. Dragan ran up to him and sliced the missile launcher clean off.
"Dragan, go help Slash and Leatherhead." Kara said as she walked towards Donnie and Mondo.
Dragan nodded and smashed the window with her shield and jumped out.
Kara bent down next to Donnie and Mondo, slicing the rope off and hugged Donnie close. "I'm so glad you're safe.."
"You guys take care of the Don and his goons. I'm gonna help the Mutanimals and Dragan." Raph ran up to them then out the window after Dragan.
"You're all about to get crushed by the Hammer!" The Hammer grinned at Leatherhead as they struggled to take the other down. Dragan climbed up Leatherhead and kicked him in the face, surprising him and with Leatherhead pushing him, he fell over.
Leatherhead began to claw at The Hammer but he swung his large Hammer, and hit Leatherhead, knocking him out.
Dragan stood in front of Leatherhead as The Hammer stood up and she brought out her sword, holding her shield in front of her. "Let's see which is stronger: A Hammer or Sword." Dragan smirked under her hood but blinked when Raph shouted down at them from the overpass above them.
"Hey, Hammer! You want a mutant? Come and get me. I'll carve ya right outta that tin can!" Raph pulled out his sai, glaring down at him.
"Wha, with those little can-openers? It's your move, creep." The Hammer used his jetpacks to follow after Raph.
Dragan rolled her eyes, groaning in annoyance and put away her sword and shield, following after them by climbing the windows.
"Hey, yo, hold still so I can shoot ya!" The Hammer shouted, firing the anti-mutant bullets at him. Dragan hopped over the edge and ran towards Raph, using her shield to block the bullets. "I'll distract him while ye take him out."
Raph nodded and she ran towards The Hammer, attacking with her sword. When he swung his hammer she held up her shield to block it but the force sent her back into Raph. "Geez, that stupid suit is tough." She looked up to see the Mutanimals floating up to their level.
"Hey, yo! Gonna turn these mutants into street meat." The Hammer stomped onto the ground, firing missiles at them. Rockwell stood in front of them and held his hand out, stopping the missiles in their tracks before sending them to explode around them.
Slash and Raph charged towards him with Dragan right behind them. While Slash attacked head on, Raph jumped over him attacking from above. Dragan then attacked from the side unbalancing The Hammer in time for Leatherhead to throw The Hammer over with a car.
"Heeeeey, yooooo.." The Hammer crashed onto the street and groaned. "Aw, nuts."
Kara and the others had knocked out the twins and looked up at The Don, who began to float backwards in fright.
"Uh..Step back, muties! I mean it!"
Donnie grinned and jumped behind him, bringing out his blade and stabbed it right through the machinery. The Don let out a yell just before his chair went haywire and sped off into the hallway, crashing into every corner before flying off into the sky, yelling, "Muuuutiiiiiieess!"
"Whoooaa.." Mikey and Kara poked their heads out the door, Kara lowering her bandana.
"Haha, that turned out so much better than expected." Donnie walked out into the hall, chuckling. Kara looked over at him and smiled before jumping into his arms.
They were all relaxing in the lair after their victory.
"I'm so glad you're ok, brother." Leo smiled, looking at Raph.
"Sorry I got so intense when we were sparring."
"Sorry I pushed your buttons, dude." Donnie sat down next to Raph, placing his hand on his shoulder.
"Ok, ok, let's stop apologizing. It's makin' me feel weird."
"It goes to show that you can never let anger separate you. For our time in this world is limited, and how terrible it would be to have unresolved anger for one another. Life is short and precious." Master Splinter walked behind them, glancing at Raph then over at Kara who was leaning against the wall near the entrance.
Kara looked away, feeling his eyes on her and sighed softly. She took off her cap and ran her hand through her hair before making her way towards them, stopping in front of Leo. He blinked, looking up at her curiously but also with a hint of worry only to blink again when she held her hand out to him. He looked from her hand to her face to see her smiling at him.
Smiling in return, he took her hand and went to shake it but let out a startled yell when she pulled him up and hugged him. He looked at her in surprise and smiled, hugging her tight.
"Taco pizza and marshmallow surprise!" Mikey shouted carrying three pans full.
"Indeed. I'm quite famished." Rockwell smiled, looking over at him
"An just regular pepperoni!" Dragan added in moving next to the guys and Kara with four boxes. Seeing Kara and Leo make up she smiled happily, nodding to them.
"Get it while it's hot and sticky!" Mikey waved one in front of Leatherhead who stared at it hungrily, smiling wide and ran after it as Mikey threw it. "Booyakasha!"
"Too slow, bro!" Mondo flew towards the pizza on his skateboard and jumped up as both of them clamped down on the pizza while everyone laughed.
