I am back, baby! Wooo! Oh, man, was this one a long one! As a treat *cough*apology*cough* I decided to keep this chapter as one whole one instead of separating like I would usually do with a two-parter. But, I believe it was worth the wait because I had to tweak a few parts here and there. Don't worry, don't worry, I won't take too much of your time. Thank you guys for being so patient with me and continuing to support my story. Ah, I love you guys! ON WITH THE STORY.
"It's amazing how you're able to adapt to your powers so quickly. It felt like ages just trying to be able to lift a spoon." April said to Sara as they, Kara and Donnie, and Raph and Chompy were hanging out in the living room.
"Being on the road constantly, there's not much to do so it gave me plenty of time to figure a few things out. Besides, don't sell yourself so short, April, not many people would be able to do the things you and your friends have done." Sara lifted her soda to her lips, taking a sip.
April exhaled softly through her nose and turned her head towards Donnie and Kara who were nudging each other and tossing popcorn at another, giggling and having a good time. "Well..I did have some help along the way." She said with a smile.
Kara threw a few kernels of popcorn at Donnie's face and blinked when one managed to stay on his nose. She pointed, giggling louder as he crossed his eyes to see what she was so giggly about and chuckled before grabbing a handful and dropping them down the back of her shirt.
"Ah! No! Stop!" She laughed while trying to get all the popcorn out. She then grabbed the bucket and dumped the remaining kernels on top of his head, both of them now laughing together.
"Aw, poor guy."
Both April and Sara looked over to Raph as he and Chompy were watching the Captain Ryan show intently. Hearing their laughter, Raph turned to the two lovebirds and stood to his feet. "Aren't you guys even watching? Didn't you see Ryan lost the love of his life?"
"Not the face!" Kara said as Donnie tackled her, smushing his now buttered cheek against hers, still laughing.
"Yeah, whatever. You two are sickening Chompy." Raph left to hang out with someone else.
"I think I sense a hint of jealousy in his tone." Sara said lightly, lowering her soda can.
"Understandable, I suppose. It's been a long while since he's seen Mona." April commented, sitting her knees in her lap and leaning forward with her face in her hands.
"His alien girlfriend? I hope I can meet her one day. This crowd has a very unique romantic interest. Speaking of that, how is your friend, Casey, doing?" She asked with a slight raise of her brow, smiling when she noticed April's cheek light up.
Raph opened the door to the Dojo, seeing Dragan and Leo fighting; Karai on the sidelines.
"I'm quite impressed with your fighting style, Dragan. I've never actually seen it up close before."
Dragan and Leo's blades were locked and she shoved him forward while throwing his weapon to the side. "A knight's body is a weapon. Our skills are honed tae protect an defend, Karai." She said through a huff of breath, glancing at Karai for a second with a smirk on her face, before charging forwards at Leo.
"Woah, take it easy, Dragan. This is just training." Leo jumped backwards, pulling out his second sword and countering her strikes.
"I know, love, but I hae tae put on a show for Karai. Gotta show her just how awesome we really can be." She stepped back while placing her sword on to her shoulder and gave him a playful wink, sticking her tongue out at him as well. Leo's cheeks flushed pink which she took the opportunity to resume their training.
"Yuck." Was all Raph said, deadpanned, and left. He wondered if Mikey needed some company.
"Yo, Mikey, you want to play some-" Raph opened the door to his little brother's room but stopped when he heard him speaking to something.
"Thanks for the sweet future tech, Renet. Now we can, like, chat through time and space! Does this mean we're in a long-distance relationship?" Mikey asked, waving his brows to the hologram of Renet.
Raph groaned and slammed the door behind him as he made his way to his room.
After horsing around Kara and Donnie began cleaning up their mess when all of them heard Raph's drums.
"He's playing his drums pretty loud. Wonder if he's ok." Kara wondered as she leaned against the broom, staring at Raph's door.
"You know Raph. Something always manages to get him mad." Donnie commented, emptying the dustpan full of popcorn back into it's bucket and stood up to throw it away.
"Maybe he's lonely?" Sara questioned curiously when she suddenly blinked, hearing something slam into Raph's door and then a thud.
Everyone looked at each other til Raph threw his door open and looked at each other with pure excitement in his eyes, wearing his space helmet. "GUYS, GUESS WHAT!"
-Later-
"Aww! Mona is coming for a visit! How sweet!" Kara said as they all including Sara, followed after Raph who was leading them to where Mona Lisa and Sal Commander would land.
"I suppose today does count as one day." Sara chuckled under her breath, floating beside the group as they ran the rooftops.
When they arrived at the coordinates they waited patiently til they saw a familiar ship in the sky slowly lower to where they were. When they dropped down the invisibility was activated on the ship and soon Mona and Sal walked out towards them.
Sara blinked seeing the two aliens, guess they weren't called Salamandrians for nothing.
"Mona!" Raph shouted the minute he saw her and ran to her.
"How I have missed you, Raphael." Mona said in a light tone, embracing him as he ran into her arms.
"Yikes! I can't believe Raph has the hots for a big newt." Karai muttered under her breath.
"She's an alien. He's a mutant. It's nae so weird." Dragan crossed her arms and shrugged while glancing to Leo with a smile as he gave her arm a gently nudge.
"Mona, Sal, these are our friends; Karai, our sister and Sara, sister to Kara." Raph introduced the two as Sara and Karai walked up to them.
"It's a pleasure to meet y-"
"NO!" All of them shouted as Sara and Karai went to extend their hands to the Salamandrians, causing both to stop dead and look at them all in surprise.
Kara walked up to her, placing her hand on Sara's arm. "Their way of greetings are different from ours."
"Yeah, we don't want to cause any unnecessary conflict, heh.." Leo chuckled nervously, stepping beside Karai.
Sal Commander stepped forward, holding his hand out in a comforting gesture. "Calm yourselves, comrades, we will not make the same mistake twice. We understand your customs..somewhat. Perhaps we should get to the reason why we are here. Y'Gythgba felt we could use your help, and, given the threat, perhaps she is right."
"A criminal Salamandrian has been hunting and destroying Utrom on Earth and in Dimension X." Mona began to explain.
"Those poor Utrom! What kind of jerk would do that?" Mikey pondered, upset that the innocent Utrom were under attack.
"The Newtralizer." Leo stated.
"Wait, wait, that can't be." Kara began.
"Yeah, we zapped him out of existence when we destroyed his teleporter." Donnie finished Kara's train of thought.
"Newtralizer?" Dragan questioned curiously.
While Kara explained to Dragan who he was, Sal Commander continued their conversation.
"No. He lives. And he has already vanished from our scanners. I fear he may have found a way to jump between dimensions."
"Don't worry, Sal. We'll find him, no matter where he is. That's a promise." Raph placed his hands on his hips and glanced at Mona, giving her a wink, making her lower her gaze bashfully.
"We need to split up if we're gonna find the Newtralizer. Raph, Mona, Sal Commander, Mikey, and Kara will try his last location." Leo nodded to each, giving them their orders.
"Take this tracker. It's the only way to anticipate his next move." Sal Commander held out a small device to Leo.
"Thanks, Sal. Sara, I want you to be our eyes in the sky. If anything happens we'll call you. And good luck to all of you." Leo smiled at Sal then looked at everyone else before they all separated into groups, Sara floating up into the sky high enough to where she could see everything and began her search.
Raph, Mona, Mikey, and Kara followed Sal Commander through the rooftops when they stopped towards the edge of an apartment building.
"Any sign of your boy?" Mikey asked.
"He's not my boy." Sal Commander stated with a low growl, "But he is not far from here." Hearing the tracker beep, Sal looked down at it then turned to Raph, Mona, and Kara. "You three will stay here. Keep watch. Let us go, Michelangelo."
"Aye, aye, Commander!" Mikey stood up straight while saluting as he fell over the edge, following after Sal with a hearty, "Booyakasha!"
"Sure, have the fun to yourselves." Kara crossed her arms and glanced over at the two, noticing Raph scooting closer to Mona. "I'll uh...look out over there." She pointed to the other side of the roof to give them their privacy, knowing they have a lot of catching up to do. Though it didn't help she was still able to hear them as Mona began to explain the all out war with the still living Lord Dregg.
She moved her head around to get a good look at the area when she suddenly heard something pop. "Did you guys hear tha-" She turned to face the two when she saw one missile flying through the air and then another, and then a third, landing where Mikey and Sal Commander were to be, exploding on impact.
"Mikey..." Kara whispered, her eyes wide.
"Oh no! We were suppose to keep watch! Commander!" Mona shouted, running towards the explosion.
"Michelangelo!" Raph shouted, following after Mona with Kara right next to them.
Dropping down beside them, Kara and Raph went to check on Mikey while Mona went for her Commander.
"Commander! Where's the Newtralizer?"
"Mikey? Say something? Are you ok?" Kara asked while Mikey groaned under his breath. She lifted her head when she heard footsteps behind her and turned around to see they were surrounded by the EPF. "You guys again?! Whats the big idea?!" She stood to her feet in front of Mikey and Raph when she heard a tank roll up behind them. "Seriously?!"
When Mona helped Sal to his feet they were suddenly shot down by a glowing net, electrocuting them with a shock powerful enough to stun but not injure them.
"Mona!" Raph shouted as now he and Mikey stood up in front of them, Kara getting on the other side of the two Salamandrians when Bishop came into view.
"Bishop? What the heck is going on, man?!"
"Yeah, I thought we were friends, yo!" Mikey added to Raph's question.
"We are friends, yo. But Salamandrians are forbidden in this galaxy." He stated as he pointed his weapons at them.
-With Dragan-
Dragan and the others followed Leo to one of the cities power supplies.
Using the fire escape from a nearby building, they hopped over the fence, landing safely on their feet. As soon as they landed though, the tracking device began to go off.
"Whoa, what the heck? Ok, now the tracker says Newtralizer's gone again." Leo, clearly confused, stared down at the little device.
"Sal Commander did say he could travel through dimensions.." Dragan pointed out, keeping her voice low as she scanned the area.
"Here, let the science guy take a look, maybe?" Donnie picked up the device from Leo's hand and began to examine it. "He keeps teleporting." "
Maybe he's going back and forth, to and from Dimension X." April implied curiously.
"Just thinkin' o' that monster harming defenseless Utrom..och, it ticks me off tae no end!" Dragan clenched her fist, slamming it against one of the legs of the towers.
"Um, guys? He's here." Karai glanced back at them, interrupting their thoughts, and turned back around to see Newtralizer walk through the fence, his silhouette burned into the fence around him and casually walked to one of the towers.
The minute Leo saw Newtralizer, he brought out his T-Phone and immediately texted Sara all the while watching as the Newt ripped off a piece of the tower and began to consume it's power.
"Wow." Was all Karai had to say.
Everyone else silently agreed.
"Looks like he acquired some kind of electricity-based power." Donnie noted.
"Great. Like being indestructible wasn't enough." Leo narrowed his eyes at the Newt as he brought out his sword. "Let's attack while he's charging up."
Dragan's eyes darted from her shield and sword. "This...is not a good combo.." She muttered under her breath but followed suit behind Leo and Karai.
All three of them snuck up behind him, weapons drawn, and just as they charged at him, he vanished, appearing off to the side of them with a lightning bolt in his hand. He immediately threw it, hitting Leo in his plastron, both Karai and Dragan shouting his name in worry.
"Turtles, it's been a long time. Rokka Rokka. I owe you for this new power you've given me. Here, let me thank you!" He brought out two more lightning bolts and threw them at Karai and Dragan. Karai jumped away from his attacks while Dragan held her shield out in front of her out of instinct but the second his attack made contact with her shield, electricity surged through her body. She let out a startled scream, her body clenching due to the shock, but she willed herself to drop the shield and stumbled to her knees then to the ground.
"Dragan!" April shouted as she went to aid her but Newtralizer blocked her path.
"I don't know who you are, girl, but I'll crush you like the rest of them." He summoned his lightning once more and threw it at her. April raised her arm; a shield surrounding her as the bolt zipped past her.
"Rokka Rokka!" Newtralizer exclaimed in surprise.
"What are you gonna do now, lizard?" April asked as she stood up straight, giving him a smirk.
Newtralizer began to chuckle ominously as he made his way towards her. The closer he got, his chuckle switched to a growl.
April glanced at her surroundings and saw a fire hydrant and looked back at him. "Relax, have a drink!" She shouted, using her powers to break open the hydrant and manipulated the water to fly right at the Newtralizer.
He began to scream, sparks of electricity flying off his body as if it were malfunctioning. He dropped to his knees but quickly pulled himself up. "I'll be back for all of you! Rokka Rokka! You'll be next!" He declared as he teleported away.
April waited a moment before bending over, putting her weight on her knees as she let out a huff of air in exhaustion. Hearing a soft gust of wind she looked up in time to see Sara lowering herself to the ground in front of her.
"Am I too late?" Sara asked as she looked around at the damage and blinked when Dragan suddenly sat up, surprising her with how fast she shot up. What surprised her even more was how frizzy her hair was and not only that but when she squinted her eyes she could swear she saw smalls sparks of electricity in her hair. She shook her head and focused on Dragan's face when she began to speak.
"I believe so. So...yeah." Dragan said just before she fell back over.
-With Kara-
"I did not realize these were the same Salamandrians who helped us battle the Kraang." Bishop said in a sort of apologetic way.
"Ever hear of the term, "Look before you leap."? You've been on Earth long enough!" Kara shouted in frustration as Mikey and Raph freed and helped the Salamadrians to their feet.
"Next time, look before you capture an alien life form, Bishop." Raph added in.
"We are all friends here. We all seek to stop K'Vathrak." Mona said in such a calm demeanor. Kara stared at her and nodded in respect at how she kept her cool.
"Yeah. The Newtralizer's out of control. What do we do?" Mikey questioned, growing frantic.
"If he decides to destroy all Utrom, bait him here." Sal Commander stated, punching his fist into his palm.
Kara nodded in agreement. "If only there was an Utrom we knew here on Earth." Kara said slowly as she tilted her head in Bishop's direction.
He stared down at her with a raised brow but already knew what she was suggesting.
Bishop began to walk around with Kara and the others following him by rooftop.
He turned a corner into an alley and lifted his head up to them all.
"Take position out of sight. I'm adjusting my com to an open frequency." Bishop let them know as he raised his wrist close to his face, beginning to turn twist his wrist communicator to do as he said. "Do you hear that, K'Vathrak? Come and get me, coward."
Once Bishop finished his message they all sat down to wait for Newtralizer to arrive.
Kara pulled off her cap, running her hand through her hair but blinked when she noticed it was getting longer. She pulled on a small lock realizing it was close to the bottom of her neck instead of it's usual short length. "I should get it cut." She thought to herself before putting her cap back on.
"Listen, Mona, when this is over, I-I want you to stay on Earth with us."
Kara blinked in surprise hearing what Raph had just said.
"Impossible. I am a Salamandrian warrior. My life is dedicated to battle and the honor of my people."Mona explained to him.
"But there's so much for you here. There's fighting and pizza and "Space Heroes: The Next Generation" and-" Raph was suddenly cut short when all of them heard the crack of electricity. Raph and the others sat up to look over the edge and saw the street lights flashing when suddenly Newtralizer appeared behind Bishop.
"Bishop! I'm going to destroy you. And then your precious Utrom Council's next." Newtralizer shouted as he brought out his lightning bolts, beginning his attack on Bishop.
Kara and the others were watching Bishop handle his own til Newtralizer disappeared.
"So, he can teleport after all." Kara observed, watching them fight. She squinted her eyes when she noticed Newtralizer throw something at Bishop. He managed to dodge it as it stabbed into the wall behind him. She stared down at the object and began to hear it beep. Her eyes widened as she stood up, "Bishop! It's a bomb!" She shouted down to him, but it was too late, the bomb went off and it threw Bishop into the street, his body rolling into the alley across from them.
Newtralizer began to laugh as he casually walked towards Bishop til he heard a, "Cowabunga!" then Mikey jumped on him with his weapons out but Newtralizer pulled him off, slammed him to the ground, and threw him away. Sal Commander jumped down next and attacked him with his sword but the Newtralizer evaded his attacks, jumping right in between Mona, Raph, and Kara.
"Give up, Newt!" Raph yelled as he was the first to attack but Newtralizer jumped to the side, now standing behind him. Kara ran at him, slamming her body against his and forced him to stumble side ways while Mona fired her shooter at him. Raph and Kara were teaming up on him and despite him able to dodge their attacks he was beginning to lose concentration as they kept coming at him til Kara punched him square in the chest then moved for an uppercut before lowering herself to the ground in time for Raph to jump on her back and send a kick right where Kara hit him.
He stumbled backwards as Sal Commander joined them but he regained his footing and laughed maniacally as he side stepped Sal's attack and punched him away. Mona continued to shoot at him, forcing him to back away. When she finally stopped to reload, he was now in the middle of the street, bringing out his lightning bolts. Before he could make a move, though, the tank from before ran him over, slamming him into a nearby building.
Newtralizer roared, now stuck between the building and the tank, and stared when the barrels of the tank aimed right at him, immediate fire was ordered. When the smoke cleared, Newtralizer was gone.
The driver of the tank climbed out to see the damage but saw him nowhere in sight. He let out a startled yell when his head was suddenly grabbed and he was thrown out of the tank. Newtralizer continued to laugh til even more EPF troops started firing at him from a nearby rooftop.
Newtralizer roared at them and held his hands up close to his shoulder, creating a rocket launcher. "Rokka Rokka!" He roared, firing at them all, sending them fleeing the rooftop.
"He can teleport AND create weapons?!" Kara yelled in disbelief.
"Apparently so." Raph said low til he tensed up seeing Newtralizer aim his rockets at them. "Move!" He shouted as the rockets were launched, flying at them all. With the force of the rockets, they all fell to the ground.
"G'Throkka, my old friend. I think it's time I took your other eye." Newtralizer laughed, a lightning bolt now in his hand.
"You. Dirty-" Sal Commander was hit with a bolt and he let out a yell, the electricity surging through his body and he fell limp to the ground.
Newtralizer cackled evily as he went to attack the rest of them but Bishop intervened, kicking him hard in the head before landing on his feet.
"Fool! I'm gonna eat your brain, Bishop!"
"Do you even know why you so badly want Utrom destroyed? Because the Kraang brainwashed you." Bishop said before firing his weapons at him.
Kara sat up, holding her head with a soft groan and began to stand to her feet. She lowered her hand and noticed Bishop fighting Newtralizer but it soon ended as Newtralizer crushed Bishop's head, waking up the Utrom inside the body, and pulled it out.
"Now you're going in my belly." Newtralizer stated with a cackle as he opened his mouth wide, lowering the now screeching Bishop to his mouth.
"Sorry, Newt, your dinner date is canceled!" Kara shouted as she ran towards them, planting her foot against Newt's chin, snapping his jaws shut, before throwing her arm against Bishop, sending him flying towards the others, Mikey catching him in his arms.
"Newtralizer!" Kara turned around to see Leo and the others making their way towards him. Kara grinned and jumped back away from Newtralizer to create some space between them. Her grin began to fade when she saw Newt smiling.
"Yes. Now I have all of my enemies in one place." He said as he began to create a ball of energy, it causing the power around them to malfunction and drain, flying towards Newt's ball. He cackled loudly as it grew, raising it over his head. "I'm gonna watch your bodies fry! Rokka Rokka!"
"Um, Sal, you didn't bring like some giant robot back-up, right?" Mikey asked Sal Commander nervously.
Just when Newtralizer was getting ready to throw the ball, Bishop crawled in front of everyone and threw a portal on the ground, it activating on impact. Everyone quickly jumped through it as he threw the ball of energy.
"One by one, everyone dropped into the headquarters of the Utrom til the portal closed behind them.
"Sacre bleu! It is the Turtles!" Pawn gasped, standing to his feet.
"Where are we?" Karai asked as she and Sara looked around confused.
"It's the Utrom Counc-" Donnie began to explain but he couldn't finish his sentence as he and the others began to suffocate due to the lack of air in this Dimension.
"Quick, give them breathers." Queen ordered as Pawn and Rook ran to assist them, helping them all put on the breathers. Once the situation had calmed down and everyone was fine, Mikey sat up and smiled bright. "Phew. You the man, Bishop. High-three me, Rook." Mikey said, holding his hand out to her.
"High three?" She asked, confused.
Utrom Bishop crawled over to his new body and climbed inside, activating it and immediately placed his sunglasses on. "Queen, I bring you dire news. The rogue Salamandrain may be too powerful for the likes of all of us, even for the EPF."
"The existence of all ten dimensions is at grave risk, yet we know next to nothing about our foe." The stated with such dismay.
"Not entirely true. I've measured his voltage, amperage, even his intrinsic field." Donnie stepped forward, bringing out his T-Phone.
"You could be a tremendous help to me, Donatello. I have built an electrical dampening cannon that could end him for good, but I need to program it with your data." Rook explained.
"Ooh, electrical dampener! Let me check that out." Donnie took the datapad Rook was holding to go over her work. Kara slowly popped up behind them, giving Rook the squinty eyes. Sara rolled her eyes and grabbed Kara by the back of her shirt to give them their space to work.
"Now that we hae a weapon. We just need a plan." Dragan stated, crossing her arms over her chest, her hair miraculously returning to it's naturally curly state.
"April managed to douse him with water. It really shut him down." Leo said to Dragan before turning to April.
"But we still need the element of surprise. If he attacks first, it's all over." Mona added in.
"Everyone must be wary. K'Vathrak has destroyed many Utrom since he manifested only last-" The Queen let out a horrifying scream as Newtralizer suddenly appeared behind her and clamped his hands over her head, sending shocks of electricity through her whole body.
Utrom Queen crawled out of her body and stared up in fear at Newtralizer.
"Look out! Queen!" Rook shouted as Newtralizer attacked the Queen but she jumped in between the Queen and Newtralizer's attack, exploding into pieces.
Pawn caught Rook's head and let out a gasp. "Sacre Bleu!" He yelled out as Newtralizer grabbed him and began to bend him backwards while pulling his Utrom form out with his mouth.
"Attack!" Leo shouted as everyone charged at him. Leo and Dragan sliced at the Newt with their swords but he teleported away from them but April send a flying kick at Pawn, freeing him from the Newt's jaws.
Bishop pulled out the portal and tossed it close to Newtralizer. "Get him through the portal!"
Sal Commander popped his knuckles as well as he neck as he charged for Newtralizer, pushing him through the portal.
"Let's go, guys!" Kara shouted, following after them, everyone else right behind her. Donnie was the last to leave, grabbing the weapon first.
Newtralizer threw Sal Commander to the ground and roared while Mikey jumped to a higher level. "I got him!" He shouted as he went to tackle him but he teleported before he could make contact.
"Get ready. We need to keep him grounded, or the weapon won't work." Donnie explained to April and the others.
"Rokka Rokka! You're mine, G'Throkka! I'll destroy you myself!" Newtralizer roared but yelled in pain when he was hit with a large, black force. He snapped his head in Sara's direction and fired his bolts at her but they zipped right through her. She continued to attack him with her powers, forcing him within enough proximity for Donnie and April to make their plan work.
"Now!" Leo shouted as he and the others hid, Sara still distracting Newtralizer.
Donnie sliced off a piece of the fire hydrant, the pressure of the water flying out. April smiled and used her powers to send it right at Newtralizer. Sara began to float backwards just as he was hit with the water but some managed to splash off him and hit her on her arm. She let out a soft gasp as she suddenly dropped to the ground, in her solid form. "What the.." She whispered before staring up at the screaming Newtralizer.
"Sara!" Kara shouted, running to her sister, dragging her away from him as he fell to his knees, panting heavily.
"Is that it? Did we get him?" April asked when nothing happened.
Newtralizer lifted his head with a snarl and teleported to the top of one of the towers. "You can't stop electricity, fools!" He grabbed onto the main power source and soon, electricity surged through his whole body. He began to cackle loudly as lightning fired out randomly.
Kara handed Sara to Dragan to keep her safe while she went to help Donnie, everyone fleeing all over the place.
Mikey jumped out of hiding and went find another place to hide when he was suddenly struck by the lightning.
He let out a scream as everyone's eyes widened seeing not only their little brother but friend get hit and suddenly vanish before their eyes.
"No!"
"Mikey!"
"Michelangelo!"
"Mikey, no!"
With a laugh, Newtralizer landed on the ground. "Now do you see? Do you see what I am capable of?"
Sara stood to her feet, her normally calm face narrowing with rage as she lifted her hand to attack but nothing came out. "What the...?" She looked down at her hand then up to see Raph grab the weapon from Donnie.
"You want to see angry?! Turn around!" Raph shouted, pointing the weapon at the Newt. "Booyakasha!" He yelled pressing the trigger and hitting him. Newtralizer yelled in pain as he took a few steps back, Raph noticing his powers beginning to weaken. "It's working! Once I suck out your powers, you're going down."
Kara bent down beside Donnie to help him to his feet when both of them noticed the power around them fidgeting.
"What's going on?" Kara asked, looking around.
"Electromagnetic interference. But from where?" Donnie questioned, looking around.
"Oh no. No! He's coming! He must of followed us here."
"Who?" Dragan asked nervously.
"Lord Dregg." Mona answered.
Just as soon as she said that name a massive bug appeared from the sky, lowering itself over them.
"What...what's happening?!" Kara shouted as small pores began flying out of it's mouth.
"It's Vreen!" April yelled as the pores hatched and Vreen began to infect the sky.
-Somewhere in New York-
"Food?"
"Check."
"DVD?"
"Check."
"Nice, comfortable pajamas?" Casey Jackson looked down at himself wearing red, silk pajamas and fuzzy bear feet house shoes. He stared at his living room seeing everything including the remote, his phone, and drinks were within arms reach of his blanket throne and let out a satisfied sigh. "Perfect." He said with a smile before slowly sitting down, letting himself relax against his couch, the blankets sliding over his shoulders and arms due to his clothes.
He reached over for the remote and went to press play for his latest movie night when he suddenly heard panicked screaming outside. With a sigh he grabbed a handful of popcorn and went over to his window to see what all the halabaloo was about. Before he could reach the window though his place began to shake as if something knocked in to it, causing him to drop his popcorn.
"What the?!" He yelled in surprise before now running to the window. He opened the blinds and his eyes widened in shock to see a gigantic insect like creature hovering over the city and then a group of human sized bugs zooming past his window, carrying people of to who knows where. His expression immediately turned serious and he ran to his room to change.
-Back with the gang-
"Lord Dregg is here?!" Leo exclaimed in shock.
"No! It's another Lord Dregg that controls bugs and can't stand us. OF COURSE IT'S LORD DREGG!" Kara shouted sarcastically before switching to rage. She snapped her head towards Newtralizer, hearing him chuckle under his breath, which caused her eye to twitch angrily and she brought out her blades to slice him in two but he teleported away. "GAH!"
"First Mikey gets disintegrated, and now Dregg invades!" Raph shouted over the screams and racket.
"So, uh, what do we do?" Donnie asked, looking around.
"First, we need tae-" Dragan's thoughts were interrupted when one of the Vreen landed right behind Leo, wrapping it's arms tightly around him, and flew off into the sky towards Dregg's ship. "Leo, no!" She shouted trying to run after them but two more Vreen blocked her path. They appeared one by one, surrounding them all.
One threw Donnie into a wall right next to April, Kara, and Sara. Another tackled Karai to the ground and a third grabbed Raph, securing him tightly so he couldn't escape. Two were pulling at Bishop's arms to restrain him but it seemed as though they were going to rip his arms off any moment. One landed right in front of him and began to extend it's jaw to tear his head off when it's own head suddenly exploded.
Everyone looked over to see Sal Commander and Mona with their weapons out. He let out a battlecry and both of them charged for the Vreen, everyone got into battlemode and began to fight.
Sara's powers were still acting up, both Dragan and Kara noticing this, so they stayed close to her to keep her safe but the more Vreen that came, the further away they moved from Sara, til they heard her let out a surprised yell.
Kara snapped her head in her sister's direction to see her surrounded by three of them. "No, no! Stay away from her!" She screamed as she tried to run to her rescue but even more Vreen intervened. She kicked, punched, slashed her way through them but she was too late.
"Kara!" She heard her sister yell as she was lifted into the sky and headed to where they took Leo.
"SARA! NO!" Kara screamed as she tried to run after them but was tackled to the ground by another Vreen. "Get off me!" She yelled enraged as she punched it's face but it screeched right in hers as it went for the kill. Kara held it's mouth open, using her strength to keep it away from her til it exploded all over her, having been sliced in two. She began to gag, some of it's goo landing in her mouth and she looked up to see Dragan standing over her with Vreen goo on her sword. She sliced the air to throw the goo off and sheathed her sword, helping her to her feet.
"We need tae geit out o' here!" Dragan shouted after helping Kara up.
"We must retreat. Everyone, hurry!" Bishop nodded in agreement, raising his voice loud enough for the others to hear.
"Everyone, fall back!" Sal Commander ordered til he, too, was surrounded and captured by the Vreen.
"Commander!" Mona shouted, turning around to see him get caught as well and taken away.
"Fall back!" Sal ordered one last time as he was taken away.
"No!" Mona went to go after him but Raph held her back.
"Mona! There's too many! We need to go!" Raph stared at her sadly which made her nod, all of them running to find a place to hide.
They managed to sneak into the local bank and grab anything they could to barricade the doors.
"The Salamandrians' complete incompetence led Dregg to Earth. His Maligna ship can spawn countless Vreen Robugs. All because of your collective stupidity." Bishop commented out loud.
"Bishop, you're out of line!" Kara yelled already ticked off at the whole situation.
"I never really liked you, Bishop. So if you talk to my woman like that again, I'm gonna kick your-" Raph began to walk up to Bishop, pointing right to his face when Mona placed her hand on his shoulder to calm him down.
"I can take care of myself, Raphael. Thank you." She said, smiling to him before turning her attention to Bishop, her sweetness gone. "If you dare talk to me like that again, I will chew up your Utrom brain and spit it out."
Bishop said nothing.
"Guys, we have much bigger things to worry about, like ten thousand bugs searching the city for us." Karai said aloud, getting everyone's attention.
"Yeah. And if that ship keeps spouting eggs at this rate, there will be enough insects to cover Earth in less than a week." Donnie explained with slight panic.
Everyone stared at him before their attention went outside the windows hearing the distant explosions, police sirens, horns blaring, and screams of the people fleeing or being carried away.
Inside Dregg's ship, he sat on his throne having a front row seat to all the chaos he created. He was watching it with joy as he heard his door open. He glanced behind him and saw the blue turtle, G'Thrakka, and a tall, human female.
"Ah, my esteemed guests. Welcome! I do hope you're enjoying the view." He said while spreading his arms out with a wide grin on his face.
"Newtralizer! Your tail is mine!" Leo shouted as he and Sal Commander freed themselves from the Vreen.
"We'll do this together, Leonardo." He shouted as both of them charged for Dregg.
Sara was too busy staring at her hand trying to activate her powers. Her eyebrows lifted up seeing her fingertips started to change into mist. She smiled some and clenched her hand tightly, her attention returning to Leo and Sal when they were electrocuted.
Suddenly, the purple pods behind them reached out and grabbed Leo and Sal, pulling them into a cocoon like prison. Another moved towards Sara but she ran as far from it as she could. When it was getting close to her, she squeezed her eyes shut, her whole body changing into it's mutant form and she flew to the ceiling, the goo retreating back into the wall.
Dregg watched with curiosity as she not only managed to slip through his Vreen but even K'Vathrak couldn't get his hands on her.
"I'll come back for you two, I promise!" She yelled as she fled out of the room.
K'Vathrak growled and went to go after her but Dregg stopped him. "K'Vathrak, find me the Salamandrian female and the other Turtles. And be quick about it! Once you bring them to me find that human female. She would make an excellent trophy." He said as his mouth stretched in a wicked smirk.
"There are two left. I fried the little one into pulp." He said just before teleporting.
"If we're gonna stop Dregg we need a plan." April said aloud, looking at everyone.
Kara stared at her then down to the ground, no ideas coming to mind. She blinked when she noticed it was starting to get a little chilly in the room and began to idly rub her arms, glancing over to Donnie and Dragan.
Dragan had her eyes closed, looking as though she was concentrating on coming up with an idea and noticed she too was beginning to grow cold, having crossed her arms over her chest tight.
Both of them looked up when Raph spun around having smacked the back of his hand into his palm. "Ok, I got it! First, we commandeer a giant Navy battleship. Then we strap a rocket to its deck, turning it into the biggest missile the world has ever seen. Next, we fly it into the air, crash it into Lord Dregg's ship, then blow it up. Any Vreen left standing, we stomp like cockroaches. What do you think?" He asked, looking at everyone.
Kara could only stare at him while Dragan let out a sigh, rubbing the bridge of her nose with her index finger and thumb.
"I honestly can't tell if you're joking or not."
"I like it. But, uh, it feels a little..too much." Mona said slowly as if not trying to hurt his feelings.
"It sounds ridiculous." Kara said flatly before turning away.
"You think? That's, like, a Mikey-level bad idea. Oh, sorry..poor Mikey." April said softly, looking down.
"I have a plan. One that does not require battleships and rockets." Bishop announced to them all, raising a brow towards Raph.
"Well, let's hear it anyways." Raph said, facing him.
"However, my plan will need more than just the six of us."
Everyone jumped, startled, when a loud bang came from the doors.
"Thay found us!" Dragan shouted as she pulled out her sword.
Kara went to her side, getting to her fighting stance when she noticed the cold was now stronger to the point she could see her breath. "Wait a minute...everyone move back!" She shouted as she jumped away from the doors.
Everyone stared at her but followed her example when the doors flew open, frozen Vreen bursting through and landing on the floor at their feet.
All of them stared in shock and looked ahead to see a woman walking towards them with long, orange hair, hazelnut skin, and icy eyes. There was a blue glow to her skin as she walked into view and looked around, a smile crossing her lips.
"We meet again, little ones." She said with pure joy expressed on her face.
"Brilliance?!" Kara shouted in surprise, the others staring at her in shock.
"The one and only!" She said with glee, throwing her arms out to her side.
"What are ye doin' here?" Dragan asked curiously.
Brilliance stared down at them, confusion on her face. "..Have you guys not seen what's going on out there? People are being abducted left and right. I'm saving as many people as I can."
"Well, yeah, we know that, but I thought you were suppose to be in hiding. Keeping yourself a secret." Raph added in with the confusion.
"Now, don't tell me you guys aren't doing anything while all of this is happening? I'd be very disappointed in you all after we saved the world from Kavaxas." Brilliance crossed her arms, looking as though she would scold them but noticed something different. "I see two new people and two are missing. Where is Mikey and your brother?" Brilliance watched their expressions change to sorrow and she quickly figured it out. She lowered her head in sorrow til it jolted upwards, hearing more bug things coming their way. "More are coming, we must leave at once."
Before anyone could make a move, one of them shot out from the wall where Bishop was and grabbed at him, trying to pull him away but Brilliance shot an ice dagger at it's face, stabbing it right in the forehead.
"This way! Follow me." Bishop yelled as they jumped over the window.
Brilliance turned to face the bugs and punched her fist down at the ground, creating a sharp, spikey barrier.
Mona turned around to watch her then lowered her gaze to the ice before she pulled out her bomb and threw it in the middle of the barrier. "Let us leave, now." Mona shouted to Brilliance and they both fled as the bomb counted down. When it hit its end, it exploded, causing the spikes to shoot out in every direction, killing every single Vreen in it's path.
When they finally reached outside they skid to a hault, their eyes fixed on a massive nest like structure on the side of a building.
"What in the name of-"
Bishop glanced behind them hearing the buzzing sound of the Vreen and quickly looked to the others. "Hide" was all he said as everyone jumped for cover as a swarm of Vreen flew past them, carrying away more humans.
They all watched in horror as the Vreen were harvesting the humans, trapping them in a cocoon. Kara had to look away as one was getting ready to share the same fate for a woman when suddenly the Vreen was thrown into the wall hard, falling to it's demise. The woman began to scream as she fell, soon to meet the same fate, when she was suddenly floating. She looked up with a gasp as a smokey figure held her close to them.
"Kara, look!" Dragan pointed at the sky, a wide smile on her face.
Kara faced the structure and her eyes widened to see Sara had escaped and was helping free the people. "She made it!" She said with a bright smile.
"Quickly, you guys do what you must. I will help the mutant free the humans." Brilliance said as she transformed into her Drago form and flew off.
"This way." Bishop whispered, leading them away.
They snuck through the alleys, making sure not to be spotted by the Vreen. When the coast was clear they all made their way through an empty parking lot when Newtralizer suddenly appeared in front of them, not only blocking their path, but sending them flying to the ground.
"Fools! Rokka Rokka!"
Bishop jumped to his feet wasting no time in firing his weapon. Newtralizer let out a yell but managed to brush the attack off. "Your toy doesn't work on me anymore, Bishop! I've adapted." He said just before disappearing, reappearing in front of Bishop and slamming his fist into his stomach. "Utrom scum!" He laughed as he sent Bishop flying into a wall, he body seemingly mangled.
"I got him!" Donnie shouted, raising his staff for an attack only to land on the ground, Newtralizer nowhere in sight til he showed up right behind him and knocked him out.
April went to attack next but was met with the same fate.
Karai and Mona decided to do an aerial assault but he disappeared once more, grabbing both their heads when he showed himself and slammed them into each other.
Raph kicked him away from the girls and stood over him. "You're gonna pay for what you did to Mikey!" He shouted but soon realized he had done his disappearing act again. He was suddenly punched and kicked in every direction as Newtralizer would appear here then there, throwing Raph around like a pinball before sending him flying with an uppercut.
"You think you're a match for my powers?" He mocked with laughter.
Kara and Dragan let out a battlecry as they began to teamwork Newtralizer, Kara keeping her eyes closed so she could see where he would show up next all the while informing Dragan. They were doing fine for the most part til they froze, hearing the crackling of electricity.
"Guys, what's happening?!" April shouted in panic.
Kara moved away from Newtralizer as she scanned the area, only to jump away further when the electricity began to gather in the middle of the lot.
A bright light illuminated the area around them causing them all to cover their eyes. When the light was gone their eyes widened to see Mikey had come back, looking as good as new.
"Mikey..?" Dragan whispered, he having his back to them all.
"Hey Newtralizer, a little power-up move I call my boom shock!" He shouted while sending the Newt flying with his attack. He looked up hearing the screeching of the Vreen and curled up in a ball, his body emitting sparks. "This is what I call my super zapper bug striker!" He shouted, the Vreen exploding into goo, that everyone moved out of the way from to keep from getting covered.
He turned his head to them all and smiled brightly at them, giving them a thumbs up before Newtralizer teleported in front of Mikey and sent him into the wall.
"Karai, behind you!" Donnie shouted just as three Vreen grabbed Karai and flew off with her.
"Get off of me!" Karai yelled as she struggled to free herself but their grip on her was tight as they took to the air.
"Karai!" Donnie yelled as he tried to follow them, but they were too fast.
"I don't get it, why doesn't she mutate?!" She lowered her gaze from where Karai had been to see Newtralizer grab hold of Donnie. "No! Let go of him!" She screamed as she ran right for them.
"I got him!" Mikey yelled as everyone tried to stop Newtralizer but he teleported away just as Kara's fingertips touched Donnie's arm. She dropped to her knees, her arm still stretched out as Dragan and Bishop ran over to her to help her up.
"Remain calm, Kara. He's nae gone for good. We will geit him bak."
Kara stared at her for a moment and nodded before closing her eyes to calm herself. After a moment she turned to Dragan and gave her a thumbs up with a smile only to let out a startled yell when Raph shoved her aside.
"You-You're alive, Mikey! And you got sweet powers!" Raph shouted with excitement and relief, everyone turning their attention to the very much alive Mikey.
Kara stood up behind Raph, looming over him before smacking him hard across the back of his head, knocking him to the ground while Mikey told them of his powers in awe.
"You must be careful, Michelangelo. Eventually, your powers could burn out." Bishop warned him. "And if they do, they'll destroy you as well."
"Whoa. Like, destroy destroy?" Mikey asked, now scared as he stared down at his hands.
"Let's go. We've got a fight to gear up for." April said to them all, all of them looking up at Dregg's ship.
"Mikey, let me see your phone." Kara asked, holding her hand out. When he gave it to her she found Brilliance' number and dialed it.
"Little one, you are alive!" Brilliance answered in her thick Russian accent
Was the first thing she heard when Brilliance answered.
"Yes, he is, but this is Kara. We're retreating back to our lair to come up with a plan. Tell the smoke mutant and she'll lead you to us. She's my sister so you can trust her."
"..Very well."
Hearing Kara hang up the phone Brilliance looked around at all the bug people, seeming the swarm was never-ending. She flew over to the smoke mutant to grab her attention. "Your sister and her friends are retreating to their lair. We must follow them."
"But the people.." Sara began, seeing they weren't even close to saving them all.
"Do not worry, my friend, we will save them. For now, we must retreat." Brilliance smiled at her before tilting her head in the direction of the massive mosquito. "Let us stall this beast and give our friends the time they need." She said with a sly smirk, baring her canines as she flew down towards it leg.
Curious, Sara followed.
Both of them landed on the ground and they looked up, the ship moving slow due to it's size.
"We'll stop its movements for the time being. Give it everything you've got!" Brilliance shouted as her arms began to glow, frozen mist rising from them.
Sara clenched her fists and turned towards the leg, her whole body becoming clouded.
Both girls let out a yell as they sent everything they could muster at the ship's leg, Sara's smoke powers twisting around Brilliance' ice as it engulfed it's entire leg, trapping it there.
Sara stared up in awe at what they created before her legs gave out and she fell to the ground. "I-I thought I had it under control.." She muttered under her breath, panting heavily.
Brilliance looked down at her with worry before helping her to her feet. "Come, let us go." She helped Sara on to her back and decided to use her sense of smell to find the turtles and friends.
When they arrived at the lair, Brilliance looked around in awe and curiosity; this being her first time here, but she shook it away and gently laid Sara down on the couch. "You rest here" She said softly before standing up straight, calling for her friends.
Hearing Brilliance, Mikey let out a gasp and zipped out of the lab to see it really was her. "Brilliance!" He shouted in excitement before zooming right into her arms.
This surprised her but she caught him, smiling down at him. "It is good to see you alive and well, little one." She said while putting her arm around him, giving him a gentle squeeze.
"Sara!" Kara and Dragan ran over to the resting Sara and looked over at Brilliance for answers.
Brilliance stared at Kara and closed her eyes. "She over exerted herself while managing to stall the creature.
Kara sighed in relief before staring down at her now sleeping sister. "We'll take care of the rest."
"So, have you all come up with a plan yet?" Brilliance stared at them all as they looked at one another.
While the others distracted Dregg with the Turtle Mech, Brilliance flew Kara and Dragan towards the ship to sneak them inside.
"I will assist the EPF in fighting this monster but I can not fight forever so please, hurry and save this city." Brilliance raised her voice through the wind as she flew towards the bottom of the creature to stay hidden while searching for a way for them to sneak in. She glanced to the side seeing her and Sara's attack didn't last very long. She closed her eyes knowing it wouldn't last long. Her thoughts were interrupted when Dragan began to speak, grabbing her attention.
"Thare! In the center! I see an entrance!"
Brilliance looked to where she was pointing and flew quickly, hovering below the entrance so they could climb in.
"Be safe, my friends." Brilliance said, looking at them with a smile.
"You too, Bri." Kara grinned her way making her blink in surprise but smile, turning away. Once they were inside, Brilliance let out a roar and began to attack the ship from below, making her way towards the top.
They were the first to arrive, with the others arriving no sooner than them.
Kara looked around and her eyes lifted up with joy seeing Donnie and the others unharmed. "Donnie!"
"Leo." Dragan smiled as both girls went to set them free.
"Look out!" Leo shouted causing both of them to stop and look up at the ceiling seeing it covered with Vreen along with Dregg.
Dregg dropped to the floor, planting his feet hard on the ground and slowly stood up straight. Before he could say or do anything, Newtralizer was thrown at him, both of them rolling on the ground. "Newtralizer?" Dregg questioned when he heard the crackle and sparks of electricity.
Everyone turned to the entrance Kara and Dragan came through the see a ball of white lightning and soon, Mikey zoomed into view.
"ElectriMikey in here! That's so unexpected, it's shocking." He said with a grin as he wiggled his fingers small sparks dancing around them before he used his powers to free the others.
"Mikey! You're alive!" Leo shouted in amazement, happy to see his little brother.
Lord Dregg stood to his feet, glaring at them all. "Trespassing fools!" He yelled, ordering his Vreen to attack, everyone charging into battle.
Outside Brilliance was soaring around the creature, noticing it was growing weak. She flew down to the humans and landed in between them. "It is weakening, comrades. Keep firing!" She shouted as she returned to the sky to go back to fighting. It was only a matter of time her wings were beginning to grow heavy. "It's been so long..I'm beginning to tire..no. I must continue on. My friends are counting on me." She let out a roar, using her ice breath on one of the eyes, hearing it screech in pain made her smirk. "Just a little longer.."
Everyone was fighting hard against the Vreen and Dregg but it seemed though there as no end to them.
Kara spun around a Vreen and sliced its head off, her shoulders shaking with every heavy breath. If they didn't come up with a solution soon, they all would eventually tire. A cry snapped her out of her thoughts and she turned to where it was coming from, seeing Mona using the dampener on Dregg.
"He can't take the electricity! Find something to use against him." Mona yelled over his cries as everyone searched around.
Finding a power line, Dragan smirked and sliced clean through it before lifting it up with a heave and throwing it towards Leo, who then tossed it to Raph, who used it to finish Dregg off.
"Hurry, we need to go help Mikey." Leo said to them all as they went to go find him.
Brilliance stopped her attacks, noticing orange lightning cracked around the creature and suddenly spread its wings, lifting itself into the sky. She smiled wide knowing her friends had succeeded and followed behind it to help them escape.
Hearing an explosion, she saw them gathered around the butt end and flew towards them, creating a path of ice for them to slide down and land safely on a roof.
She landed next to them to see them watching the creature fly away.
"Guys, look! Dregg's ship is leaving." Donnie shouted.
"What about Mikey?!" April asked.
Brilliance' eyes widened and she snapped her head towards the ship before spreading her wings wide and pushing herself into the sky, after the ship. She mustered all her strength to speed towards the ship but it began to engulf in a blue flame til it exploded before their eyes.
The force of the explosion knocked Brilliance back, crashing on to the roof the others were on. Due to using all her strength, she laid there, her wings completely covering her as she tried to force herself up. "No..he can't be gone..I was too late.." She whispered in sorrow.
Kara covered her mouth and buried her face in Donnie's shoulder while Dragan wrapped her arms around Leo, pulling him close while squeezing her eyes shut.
A crash of lightning shocked them from their saddened state and lo and behold, Mikey stood before them with his usual smile.
"Mikey!"Leo shouted with a smile.
"You made it!" Donnie added.
"Little brother!" Raph shouted, all his brothers running to him. Raph high-threed Mikey but due to his powers, shocked Raph. "Oops. My bad."
Brilliance stood to her feet, seeing he was alive once more and walked over, pulling him into an embrace. "You had me worried there, little one. But I am glad to see you safe and sound."
Mikey smiled wide up at her noticing his electric shock wasn't effecting her and hugged her tight.
"So, um, what are we gonna do about his electric powers?" April asked curiously, looking at them all.
"We could have him be our power source at home." Kara crossed her arms, grinning jokingly, making Dragan giggle.
"I have the solution. This weapon did not work on Newtralizer. But it could still work on Michelangelo." Bishop walked over, carrying the dampener in hand, pointing it at him.
"No, wait!" Mikey yelled, jumping off of Brilliance and waving his hands frantically. "Wait a second, guys! Waaiiit!" He went to flee but Bishop fired the weapon, zapping him of all his powers leaving a now powerless, and maskless Mikey.
"Aw, man! I feel naked. And I lost all those sweet powers, yo."
"Cheer up, Michelangelo. Today was a win. This calls for a celebration!" Karai said with a smile.
"Yes! Pizza's on me!" Leo shouted in excitement.
"Free food! Woo!" Kara threw her fists in the air, excitedly.
"I'm afraid we don't have time for celebration. Y'Gythgba and I must head back to Salamadria and report to the General. Rokka Rokka." Sal Commander stated.
"But Commander, I-I request permission to remain on Earth. To maintain safety f the planet from insectoid alien threats, sir."
Sal Commander stared down at her and smiled, bumping his fist to his chest. "Permission granted, Lieutenant Y'Gythgba. You may remain on Earth."
Mona began to smile til Bishop popped up behind them.
"Negative. That violates protocol twenty seven dash nine B, referring to unauthorized aliens remaining on plane-"
Bishop was cut off by Raph, Kara, and Dragan.
"Stop being a spoil sport, Bishop."
"Yeah, she's proven tae be a strong ally."
Raph and Mona shared a hug.
"You know, Mona Lisa, we have some pretty cool friends called the Mighty Mutanimals. They're always looking for new recruits."
"Oh? Well, as long as they are admirable warriors such as you, Raphael. Rokka Rokka!"
Both of them smiled at the other and leaned in, nuzzling noses.
All the girls but Karai gathered around each other, getting all lovey dovey at the sight of the two.
Brilliance smiled at them all and took this time to leave, needing some long deserved rest.
As they all began to head home a figure sat in the middle of a lot, a lit cigarette in their mouth. Seeing a shadow dash over their head, they looked up to see the girls and turtles heading home. A smile crossed Casey's face as he moved his fingertips around his cigarette.

He stood to his feet and kicked over a can of gasoline right on the dead bodies and began to walk away. He pulled the cigarette from his mouth and flicked it behind him as it landed in the pile, it suddenly bursting into flames.
