Forced Equality

Chapter 6

RWBY is owned and created by Rooster Teeth

Summary: The White Fang has come up with a new violent and forceful way to make faunas the superior race and involves a certain heiress.

It was late and the teams had arrived back in Vale, ready to track down the lost heiress before it blew up in their faces. "Okay so pulling up Maps with the locations has given us quite a few places to check out..." Sun informed as he stepped off the airship.

Blake nodded. "Right but we're talking about a bunker that has the space and facilities to hold captors." She added.

"Okayyy… narrowed it down to roughly three." Sun confirmed and sent locations to the Jaune and Ruby. "Me and Neptune can get one, you guys split up and get the other two."

"I'll go with you both, equal split, safety in numbers." Pyrrha walked to stand with the two boys.

"Okay then lets go. No point in waiting!" Yang looked at the location on Ruby's scroll and began to set off, the other two following behind hurriedly with slight worry.

"We'll update you on what we find!" Ruby shouted back to the other two groups, waving erratically as she turned around a building, heading straight for the faunas district.

Each group set off in the direction of their target cautiously.

Blake was definitely noticing something strange as they passed through the main centre she came through the other day with the boys. People were acting cheery, I guess they got what they wanted, the heiress.

It annoyed Blake but it was obvious that it irritated her partner more. Yang had a near constant flow of heat radiating off her at abnormal levels, just walking through the main street at night caused the lightly drunk faunas gatherers to quietly evade the excess heat. The path she created would be great if it didn't look so obvious they were out of place.

"Yang, you need to calm down. Literally cool off." Blake stated sternly, watching her partner from the side of her eye with caution.

"I'm trying." She seethed through her teeth. Now she was probably getting even more frustrated. The situation was dire but Yang was going to either make or break this mission.

"Yang, I know you upset but please. Please." Her sister stared at her with half formed tears. It was clear the whole team was distressed, some better hiding it than others but Yang knew she had to pull it together.

"I get it. I'm trying." Yang said with a softer tone, the heat reduced but that was it. As they walked passers by remained relatively close, close enough so the girls didn't stick out like a sore thumb. A start and probably the best they'd get. Ruby gently took her sisters hand in her own and squeezed.

"Hey Ruby are you certain this is the right way? I think we passed through this crowd before?" Blake asked sceptically.

"Eheh… Probably?" Ruby muttered quietly. Maps are hard.

Blake snatched the scroll from Ruby's hands. "Follow me." she ordered with an eye roll.

The girls crept all the way back through the populated zone and proceeded towards a more run down looking place. As they neared a river the place seemed eerily silent. Looking around for any people, they were shocked to see no one else had even wandered down this place. It was already odd people gathered in a crowd at night but to suddenly see no one? That was the bigger question.

The river flowed gently through a rather derelict industrialised area, concrete buildings standing tall, graffiti sprayed on the walls of the abandoned buildings and glass just shattered on the floor from busted windows. One building, if you could call it that, jutted out next to the river bank. Blunt edges and long black rectangular holes for surveillance from within, definitely bunkery looking.

"Think that's it?" Ruby asked. The girls stood quietly, staring at it. They all darted forward at the same time.

"What the hell? Its just a single room!" Yang stated the obvious.

"Hatches, Yang." Blake walked over and pulled on a small jut from the floor, heaving up the slab of concrete that closed the hatch. She looked down into the darkness below, a lone metal ladder descending into it. Looking back to her team, "Who's first?"

"Uh uhm, as your leader, I should probably gointothedeepblackptoffdeath." Ruby squeaked out the last part. Yang swallowed and placed a hand on Ruby's shoulder. She couldn't let her little sister go in when no one new what to expect!

"No, I'll light the way." Yang said smugly, her hair glowing lightly as she quickly began to climb down the ladder. Looking down, it was just ladder for a while, no flooring in sight yet. She swallowed again. "Looks deeper than anything normal, must've been built for something big." She continued her descent.

The other two quickly joined Yang on the ladder. After a moment of quiet, Yang touched the floor. She helped the other two off the ladder then brightened her hair a bit, an expansive room could be seen from the dull glow.

"Look, there's a breach in the wall over there." Blake walked over to it with the other two closely behind. Inspecting the wall, the debris from whatever did this was tidied out the way. Peeking through and above the makeshift doorway there was a green running man sign. "Looks like an emergency exit."

"Guess the bad guys need safety precautions too." Ruby said. "I mean, we don't know who is here but-" A clang sounded off somewhere within the carved out tunnel. The girls were immediately alert and readied themselves for a fight. Light taps of feet on dirt could be heard getting quieter and quieter.

Yang gently pushed Ruby, a silent signal to give chase quickly. Ruby was already on it with her team behind her at their own pace. Dirt and dust fluttered back up into the air making it slightly uncomfortable to breathe. Ruby slammed into something or someone and sent them both skidding into the dirt. She flared her semblance harder to give them enough light to make out specific features, there was a person beneath Ruby, a faunas person. The stranger grunted from the uncomfortable impact. Ruby rubbed her head, hissing in pain from the wall she collided with.

"What in the hell-" the stranger began but was silenced by Ruby's hand over their mouth. A man in a black outfit to blend in and brown light armour, knee and elbow pads. It was obvious he was a faunas from the scales on his face. He struggled a bit in Ruby's now fierce hold upon him on the floor, he eventually stopped and slumped. "Who?"

"Team RWBY- uh RBY right now I guess. Where's Weiss?!" Ruby used her leader voice to coerce information out the man.

"Ruby, he might not even be part of-" Blake began.

"The white haired Schnee chick?" Ruby's victim asked.

The girls were dumb founded at how easy it was to get him to speak. "Uhm. Yes. She was taken a few days ago and-" Ruby tried to reinstate.

"Yeah she's probably dead." He said sweetly, like it was nothing.

"What." Yang seethed through her teeth, how could a person lack so much conscience to not even care about a person and act so casually. Readying her right fist for a punch she grabbed the stranger by the shirt and pulled him in, " That better have been a sick joke."

The man recoiled and raised his hands up to his face in defence. "Please! Not the face!" He yelped over dramatically with a smirk. He was clearly having fun. Yang readied to strike. "She was part of an untested experiment, she's probably alive… but that doesn't mean she'll want to be later." He said before Yang hit.

"What do you mean?" Blake and Ruby both asked.

"Equality. Or the new apparent form of it. Force it." He said as if it were obvious.

"You mean-" Blake started with fear in her voice.

The stranger smirked, and settled into both his captors grasps. "Maybe." He just shrugged.

"This isn't a game." Ruby said. Yang felt sick to her stomach at this point. Heating up the small corridor, making the air almost stifling.

"Heh, maybe not top you but I'm having a blast to be honest. I knew someone would look for the Schnee bitch so I waited here to bait you out. Not really as fun as I thought, especially when you get tackles by some speed demon." He said, almost lamenting.

"You waited here? How would you even know we'd come here?" Blake asked.

"Wait, you mean that you didn't purposely find the back entrance to the main base?" He queried. The girls looked at each other with knitted brows then turned back to scowl at the man. "No way! This was a fluke!? Are you three dumb?!"

At his last words and stopping his awful laugh Yang had knocked him unconscious, ending whatever just happened. Ruby released her hold, as did Yang, and the dropped him on his face.

"At least we know she's in here somewhere. I'm giving the others a call." Ruby pulled out her scroll, honestly expecting to find no signal like in every dire situation that happens in the movies, she was pleasantly surprised to find that she actually had signal.

The scroll rang for a second before Jaune picked up, loud clangs filling in the moment it picked up. Nora's cackle and and Ren's guns heard in the distance. "Hey Ruby! We found the main entrance I think! Lots of guys with weapons to a bunkerish building. Currently trying to sweep through!" Jaune said loudly over the noise. It explained why no one was protecting the back entrance at least.

"Right. We seem to have found the back entrance. Not really any bad guys on our end, do you uhh, need assistance?" Ruby asked.

"No. We got Nora pounding their guys into the concrete-ugh" It sounded like he dropped his scroll. "Actually, I don't think I'm enough backup so"

"I'll give the others a call to try get to you ASAP, we can sneak through, find and grab Weiss and kick butts making our way to you." She responded, sounding excited about the new plan of action.

"Sounds good! We'll see you in a bit- AHHHHHH!" Jaune's battle cry was the last thing Ruby heard slip out his mouth as he ended the call.

"Okayyy." Ruby gave a thumbs up to her sister and Blake as she dialled Sun. "Sun! Hey, how's your end?"

"Bad. We just found some homeless people bunking in the bunker. How about you?" He asked quickly after that horrible phrasing.

"Basically, we found the back entrance and its pretty quiet but Jaune's squad are full on attacking the front, I think he needs backup." She explained shortly.

"Right, we'll head on over to his location, in a bit Ruby." Sun ended the call quickly to go help the others.

Ruby turned to face her team. "Everything is working out team! Jaune's squad is attracting all the attention so lets go retrieve Weiss!" She ordered with enthusiasm, her team nodded and smiled. It was going easy for once and Weiss would be safe again. They just hoped they weren't too late.

Lights were flashing and a siren was blaring in the distance when she opened her eyes. Pain sprung throughout her entire being, centred and stemmed from her head. It sent a ringing all the way down to her toes.

"Hello again, Lady Weiss. How are you feeling? On our level?" A man's voice sounded next to her, she turned her head to see him. Squinting from the pain from opening her eyes to bright lights she opted to close them and try to sit up. "No,no. You must rest, we want you to recover. Our only success cannot die from exhaustion."

Weiss grumbled. Was this a dream? Could all this really just be some crappy nightmare? She hoped so, the pain she felt was definitely not meant to be experienced by mortals. Maybe she was dead? "Am I dead?" She grumbled out. The man laughed next to her, the loudness made her wince and try to hold her head. The white blankets set on top of her restricted her movement.

"Oh sorry. You must be feeling very terrible right now. You probably will until you adjust. Do you remember who I am?" He asked, almost concerned.

Weiss turned her head again, dead set on trying to capture his features. "Jamil." She croaked, tears threatening to spill over. It wasn't a dream or nightmare, it was reality. "What have you done to me." She could barely feel her limbs. Despite trying to move, the thin blanket was oddly heavy.

"We made you equal." He smiled gently. "Your now among us, my child." His touch was almost fatherly upon her arm. He held her in place, he was calming but Weiss knew it was wrong. She couldn't help but remain still and comforted.

Jamil tugged on the bandage she didn't notice was around her head. "We can soon reveal your new self to everyone, Lady Weiss. I cannot wait. Soon every one will be as equal as their neighbour." He then went to check on the tubes connected to her hand beneath the blanket, it felt cold as he moved it to being on top. He slowly pulled them out and wrapped her hand in a fresh bandage. He moved her hand to his face.

Weiss was repulsed as her captor caressed her hand to his face but all she could feel was the warmth of his cheek through her hazed state. She was obviously coming out of a medically induced sleep and from something that required numbing medication to drown out pain. "Please. Where is my team?" She begged, she never begged.

Jamil looked thoughtful for a moment and dropped her hand. "You don't need them, but it's probably them who was dumb enough to attack our front door." He frowned as if reminded of something. He turned and grabbed a needle from a tray behind him. "This will paralyse you for a while, my child. Do not fear, its so you cannot harm yourself." He slowly injected it into her.

Weiss could only watch as the needle left her body empty before she could even try to protest or retort. She could see but she couldn't move. Her limbs were lead. Were they even there?

"I'll be back shortly. Please be careful, I'll take care of the ruffians myself." He retreated into the hallway that harboured sirens and flashing orange lights. Her friends were fighting and she couldn't even cry from frustration with the paralyser. She just laid there. Staring at people run in one direction with weapons in a hurry.

She waited and waited, there was no clock but the sirens were still blaring. Her ears were probably bleeding right now. Her head definitely felt warm.

Suddenly a clatter sounded her out from her thoughts. Her team, moving quickly to her side. Each adorned faces of fear and happy tears. Ruby took her hand in hers and was trying to say something. Weiss couldn't hear a thing, only a loud ringing. She watched Ruby touch her head and watched as she pulled away with blood coating her hand. That's one mystery solved at least.

She was dying from blood loss. Probably.

"Oh god! Weiss! Weiss are you okay?!" Ruby shouted grabbing her hand, confirming her existence. Weiss didn't respond only glanced at her. "Weiss?" Ruby touched Weiss' bloody head and recoiled from its warmth. "Oh no."

"Ruby, I think she's been drugged. There's an empty needle." Blake picked it up and inspected it, smelling then pricking herself with it. Ruby touched Weiss' bloody head and recoiled from its warmth. The tip of her pinky finger went numb after a moment. "Paralysing I think."

Yang was currently defending the door to make sure no one tried to pick a fight as they picked up Weiss. Luckily most of the tough guys went to defend the front lines, leaving the small workers to their thing. "Lets go fast. We don't want to be here when the others get a beating or flee or something." Yang reasoned.

"Right, Blake get her left. I'll get her right." Ruby moved the blankets from Weiss and picked her up from the bed. Weiss was not cooperating even though her eyes said she was trying to.

"I'll carry her. You two guard us." Yang walked over and hefted Weiss into her arms. "You'll be okay now, princess." Yang glanced worriedly at Weiss' head and the bandages streaked with blood upon it.

"We'll make our move toward the main entrance and get their forces from behind, there can't be may left to deal with." Ruby stated as she urged her team to follow, Blake watching Yang and Weiss' backs as they pressed on.

With minimal take downs from Ruby Rose to her enemies the team made a swift exit, following he odd faunas or two towards their destination. Blake was bringing up the rear when an electrified Nora busted through the ceiling with Ren elegantly fluttering to land beside her.

"Hey Blake! We'll get the stragglers, the other guys are just finishing up the fight." She said as she zoomed off making car noises and bashing through the walls of the underground bunker.

"Uh sure." Was all Blake got to say on the matter before they were out of sight. Blake went to catch up with Ruby leading the group to inform her, Nora just busted through the ceiling to kill everyone that's going to fight us so we can just go now.

The three ascended up towards the light, there was some normal steps up and out at this entrance with a heavy steel and concrete door, just gaping open. Unconscious faunas lay groaning around, some near dead some alive and her proud friends with smiles and smug looks as the rest of the group flee, mainly fear from seeing Pyrrha just drop kick some poor guy.

"Oh god. Is that Weiss?" They all had varying gasps of worry for the heiress as her head just flopped uncontrollably down, she let out a lone groan.

"She'll be all right. We just need to get her to the infirmary at beacon and say she got in a fight or something." Ruby said.

"We need to find who the hell did this." Yang scanned the scene, looking for the person responsible.

"No, Yang. We let the authorities deal with this mess." Sun placed a hand on her shoulder.

"Sun might be right. It looks like a huge mess so might look like some faunas gangs had a fight down here, then they'll explore and find the labs and make arrests." Blake reasoned. Patting her shoulder as well.

"Right. Well, someone needs to find Nora and Ren." Yang then moved quietly through a back alley, making haste for Beacon.

"Yeah, we'll get Weiss home safe." Ruby followed along with Blake quickly behind, nodding to the others.

Jaune turned to Sun and Neptune, "Thanks for your help today guys. Couldn't have beaten them without you." He said earnestly.

Sun and Neptune responded with wide grins and hight fives all around. The ground behind them thundered as Nora landed back with the group.

"We're doooone!" She grinned and flexed with her hammer. Ren looking extremely tired of this day.

The whole of team Ruby arrived at the infirmary swiftly, doctors rushing out ready to receive their next patient. They took Weiss from Yang's arms and put her on a stretcher.

"Hey! Wha-" Yang was cut short by a receptionist's glare.

"We need space to work, please wait here." She said as she blocked the entrance. The receptionist glanced over the nervous group. "… that woman who was spying on Ms. Schnee has been fired and arrested for terrorism." was all she said as she took some stacked forms into the back room.

A collective sigh was heard from the girls as they collapsed into the plastic chairs of the infirmary. They were all tired and now relieved of stress, they could relax for just a moment before the storm raged again.

The girls waited, Ruby slowly falling asleep and resting on her sisters arm, Yang resting in turn on Ruby's head and Blake slumped in her chair, staring at the clock. An hour rolled by.

The doctors finally left the room. And approached Ruby, the team leader, to inform her. "We stopped excess bleeding from previous… surgery from Ms. Schnee, she is stable but is still having trouble moving. We can't tell if its simply the paralysis in her system or damage to her brain affecting her movement. We will be making a call to her guardian to inform them of what has transpired. She is awake and your able to see her, she is, however in a bad position but insisted on seeing you." The doctor handed a clipboard to Ruby who took it numbly.

The quick and monotone delivery of something so potentially life threatening to the heiress made their blood boil but also go cold. They stiffly walked over to the door and steeled themselves to talk to the heiress about the bad news.

"I know your there. Hurry up and come in." Weiss could be heard from beyond the door. The girls immediately opened the door and ran over to Weiss. Ruby was already crying and Yang and Blake very close to it but when they entered Weiss had a pillow on her head and sat upright but leaning heavily on the back board. She sniffles a bit "I was scared you'd never come." Weiss finally said.

The girls stared, Ruby tackled her partners stomach, throwing Weiss off guard and dropping her pillow. Gasps of shock spread through the room.

Weiss was already trying to cover the additions up but to no avail. They had been revealed and everyone in the room saw them. "Weiss are those… cat ears?" Ruby asked aloud and stared at the top of Weiss' head. There was indeed a pair of white, fluffy cat ears, wiggling atop Weiss' head.

Weiss seemed so ashamed, like she feared herself and let go her new ears to grip the bed tightly in two fists before she managed to out a sobbed, "Yes.".

AN- It has been afew months and I apologise, I just lost my zest for writing this for a bit. But the story is still kicking! Just a bit swamped but will definitely pull through and try to finish this. My plan was to also make a branch for some ships, separate couples storys that occur after the events of this story. I just wanted to pair new cat Weiss up with someone but didn't want to force it in this somehow, also I love so many of the ships that its hard to decide!

All in all, story not dead just slow. Thank you so much for your reviews!
