"Hello children." The familiar voice of Kronos sent involuntary shivers down my spine. I whipped my sword around only for it to be met by Luke's Backbiter. "Pathetic" Kronos spat as he kicked me back. "This is the "Hero" who was meant to defeat me? Your nothing."

Out of the corner of my eye I saw Annabeth try to sneak up behind to stab Kronos in the back while he was distracted by me and I realized she didn't know about Luke's/Kronos Achilles curse. My eyes widened. I tried to warn her but it was too late Kronos had already whipped around and slashed her neck with his sword. That's when I knew Luke was finally dead. "Puny mortal." He said with venom dripping in his voice

"YOU FUCKER!" I screamed as I got up and tried running over to her, but it felt like I was running through honey. I looked around hoping Grover or Thalia would try to help but Grover had already passed out from fear and Thalia was distracted holding back Kronos from the thrones and I knew it was already over. Thalia couldn't hold off Kronos forever. She would eventually get tired and make a mistake.

"Percy." I heard Annabeth choke out blood dripping down her mouth. I tried even harder to get to her and I slowly felt Kronos' grip on me loosen.

"Annabeth no no stay with me please." I cried kneeling over her. "I can't lose you too."

Annabeth reached up and touched my face. "Percy its okay." She managed to cough out before her breathing slowed and the light faded from her eyes. I looked over to see Thalia and saw her put too much force into the swing of her knife and watched Kronos take advantage of her mistake and batted her away where she flew into a statue which crumbled on top of her.

I got off my knees and turned towards Kronos "You'll pay for what you've done." I spat with hatred. The rooms temperature dropped, and the winds sped up as I felt myself getting angrier and angrier. I charged at him and took a wild swing that he blocked with ease. He looked almost bored with my attempts. I swung again and again, and he blocked each one and each swing I got angrier and angrier. After everything he had done to me, my friends, my family there was no way I was going to let him win this. I didn't care if I came out of here half dead, all that mattered was this bitch died.

We fought for what felt like hours and both of us were getting tired. I took I final lunge and slipped up. I left myself wide open. I realized my mistake and tried to correct myself. Too late, Kronos saw it before I did and smacked my ribs with the butt of his sword and I felt a crack and fell to the ground. I guess the curse only made my skin invulnerable.

I looked up to Kronos standing over me with his sword raised. "This is where you die." Kronos said with a smile over his face as his skin began to glow and I felt my entire body burn. He was about to bring his sword down but hesitated and his eyes flashed blue. "Percy my side." Kronos said in Luke's voice before his eyes returned to Kronos's piercing gold eyes and I realized what he was trying to say. This was it, if this doesn't work and then Kronos wins and it's over. I took a wild swing at his lower armpit area and my sword sank into his side and Kronos collapsed onto his knees. "NOOOOOOOOO." He screamed in agony. "Perseus Jackson, I swear on the river Styx I will do everything in my power to make your life a living hell till the day you die!" he managed to get out before slowly dissolving into golden dust.

I ran over to Thalia who had escaped from underneath the rubble of the statue and was crying over Annabeth's lifeless body. I grabbed her shoulder and turned her around into a hug. "She's gone." Thalia kept whispering into my shoulder as we both took comfort in each other's company.

The Gods flashed into the room one by one until everyone was in the room. Athena looked around frantically for Annabeth until she saw her lifeless body on the floor. "Annabeth!" Athena exclaimed and ran over to her body. She turned to Hades. "Bring her back. NOW!"

For the first time I'd ever seen Hades looked sad. "I'm sorry child the ancient laws forbid it even if I could."

Athena then turned to me and her face shifted from sadness to anger. "You, this you your fault!" She screamed. "I warned you to stay away from my daughter and you didn't listen and now she's dead!"

"ATHENA ENOUGH!" My father bellowed "I will not have you accusing my son after he saved Olympus." But it was too late the words had been said and they hit like a tidal wave. I knew deep down I knew she was right. If I had stayed away, she would still be alive right now and Thalia and everyone else close to her would be happy.

Thalia came up and slapped me. "Perseus I can read you like a book it is not your fault. Athena is just distraught; don't you dare blame yourself."

"Uh Huh." I said almost absent mindedly. Maybe she was right, but I couldn't make myself believe it. My fatal flaw wouldn't allow me to think otherwise.

"I think we should reward our heroes and celebrate the savior of Olympus!" Zeus interrupted trying to change the uncomfortable situation. There was some light cheers through the crowd but almost everyone was shaken up from Athena's outburst or grieving Annabeth's death. She had been at camp longer than anyone and had gained the love and respect of everyone including the Ares campers. Of course, most of the gods thought it was a great idea except for my father and Athena who was staring still daggers at me and I was scared she would decide to kill me in my sleep.

The gods sent everyone outside the throne room where we waited for the gods to discuss things. After what felt like an hour but was probably closer to ten minutes the gods finally let us back inside. "Thalia!" Zeus boomed. "My beloved daughter for playing a vital part in the fight for Olympus I gift you a new shield as your last one was damaged."

"Thanks." Thalia responded dryly. I guess its hard to be enthusiastic when someone who was almost a little sister to you has just died.

I waited while name after name was called, each getting various gifts as I sat there grieving. "Perseus Jackson." I heard my father boom. "For being they key to winning this fight and the hero of Olympus we will give any gift you wish."

"Anything?" I asked.

Zeus nodded slowly. "I know what you will ask and yes we can make you a god." I looked around. My best friend was gone, most of my friends were dead. There was no reason for me to stay mortal anymore. No real reason to live.

"Alright." I responded with zero emotion in my voice. Even becoming a god there was no reason to be happy.

"Then it is decided!" My father said with glee. All the gods stood up even Ares and Athena and started chanting in a language I didn't recognize. Annabeth would probably know, I thought sadly.

When they were done chanting a beam of light shot down from the sky straight into my and I felt pain and energy shoot through my body." When it was over I was on my knees gasping. "What the fuck was that?" I asked

"When a mortal is made a god, it strips away everything that makes you human what you felt was your blood turning to Ichor." My father explained. "Congratulations Percy, you are now the god of hurricanes, lakes and Heroes."

"Thank you for the gift, Lord Zeus." I turned to my father. "I promise to make you proud dad."

My father smiled. "Percy, I have never been so proud of any of my children, you are truly the greatest hero to live."

Yea and still can't save the only person I've ever loved I thought to myself. "Thank you father, I am honored."

My father laughed. "Just don't tell Triton I said that."

Normally I would've found something like that humorous, but I wasn't in the mood right now, so I put on a fake smile. "Of course."

"I think its time to celebrate!" Zeus said happily as he got bored of the conversations. The rest of the gods cheered, and each flashed out of the throne room one by one with their children until the only god left was Artemis who was staring at me silently. I went over and bowed. "How can I help you Lady Artemis I asked.

She cocked her head at me slightly. "You were made a god and yet you feel nothing. Why is that."

I looked up at her. "Lady Artemis, I don't know if you understand but most of my friends and the only person I have ever loved is dead. I don't have much to live for anymore which is the only reason I took up being a god."

Artemis nodded. "Yes, Annabeth was a honorable maiden and would've made a fine hunter. You know she turned down immortality for you?"

My eyes widened. "What?"

"Yes, when I offered her a spot in the hunt, she turned it down because she loved you too much to let go. I must admit I wasn't very pleased at the time."

"If it makes you feel any better I would've done the same for her. I would do anything to have her back."

She nodded. "I know child." And flashed off and I was left alone in the throne room.
