Bad Quickly
Sirius looked around the tiny shack of an apartment. His eyes landed on an open box of chocolates, half eaten, a cup of hot tea with a bowl of sugar next to it, and a thick book on the coffee table, a bright green bookmark sticking out from somewhere in the middle of the dusty pages. He shook his head. "There are times when I really wonder about you."
Remus scrunched his nose up in his adorable way. "What do you mean?"
"You live in this tiny shithole—"
"Because I can afford it on my measly salary," Remus interrupted.
Sirius continued as if Remus didn't say anything, "—when I've offered you the other half of my bed in my beautiful ancestral house. An offer you've have rejected repeatedly."
Remus chuckled. Sirius was always trying to take care of him. "When we first got together, people said how unlikely of a pair we were. And they're right. We're complete opposites. We've only been dating for six months. We shouldn't rush into living together when we might…" He trailed off uncertainly, not wanting to actually voice his doubts out loud.
"When we might not last?" Sirius whispered, his jovial mood quickly dissipating. "I can't believe you don't believe in us. I know I love you. I never felt this way about anyone before. And I thought you felt the same about me."
"I do, but love can quickly turn sour, and it's easier when we each have our own spaces. We don't know what will happen if we move in together."
"We'll never know until we do it. Are you saying we'll never move in together?"
Remus averted his eyes "I'm not saying that, but I think six months is too fast. We need more time."
Sirius glared at him. "Take all the time you need."
Remus was left standing with mouth gaping open as Sirius stomped out of the apartment, slamming the door behind him in a huff. How did such a simple talk go so bad so quickly?
