Fred Weasley, Remus lupin, and Nymphadora Tonks
AN. I assume you've read the Sirius chapter so therefore you know that Remus and Tonks are not a couple in my stories. However I don't want to lose little teddy so here's my "adjustment" Tonks and lupin aren't a couple but they, and Sirius, are close friends, the three of them lived at Grimmauld place together before Sirius "died". they decided to have a child and raise it together. Teddy is lupin's biologically, Just before sirius went away and knowing how much Tonks wanted the baby ASAP Sirius Told lupin and Tonks to carry on with the plan even tho they didn't know how long he would be gone. They moved into a house near to Grimmauld place and had Teddy. They hope that if they all survive the war they can move back to Grimmauld place all together and raise teddy as the three parent family they originally planned.

"You actually are joking, Perce … I don't think I've heard you joke since you were –'
The air exploded. They had been grouped together, Harry, Ron, Hermione, Fred and Percy, the two Death Eaters at their feet, one Stunned, the other Transfigured: and in that fragment of a moment, when danger seemed, temporarily, at bay, the world was rent apart. Harry felt himself flying through the air, and all he could do was hold as tightly as possible to that thin stick of wood that was his one and only weapon, and shield his head in his arms: he heard the screams and yells of his companions without a hope of knowing what had happened to them. Then amongst all the other noise he heard one voice rise above the others. It was Hermione's voice roaring two spells. "Acio" Harry abruptly changed direction in mid air. "Protégé maxima" everything fell suddenly silent. In that same moment that Harry crashed into several bodies. They seemed almost to hover in mid air for a moment Then they hit the ground in a tangled heap. It took a moment for Harry to gather his senses one he did it occurred to him that the ground felt curiosity spongy. It was pitch dark. Harry lit his wand.
He, Ron, Malfoy, goyle, Percy, and Fred were all in a tangled heap around Hermione who was standing in the Center. The two death eaters were nowhere to be seen. Hermione had Her wand was raised and there was a look of deep concentration and strain on her face. Harry looked beyond the group of them trying to figure out what had happened and where they all were now, they appeared to be in some sort of domed cavern, the walls were rough stone with some sort of strange film coating the entire interior surface, the film was beneath Them as well and Harry realised that it was the film that was cushioning them and making the ground feel soft. Then Harry realised what he was seeing. A giant protective bubble surrounded them and it was being maintained by Hermione. the cause of her strain was apparent. The corridor had blasted apart and Hermione had grouped them together using a summoning charm and protected them within this bubble. The problem was that the bubble was buried in rubble. If Hermione dropped her spell the rubble would fall in and they would all be crushed. Harry disentangled himself from the the heap of stunned and groaning people and clambered carefully to his feet.
"How can I help"
"Take over the protection charm so I can catch my breath" Hermione grunted.
"Protégé maxima" Harry roared lifting his wand to point upwards. A second bubble appeared just within the confines of the first. Hermione dropped her wand and her bubble vanished. Harry grunted slightly as the rubble hit his bubble. It felt like a heavy weight was pressing down on the tip of his wand but he held firm. Hermione sat carefully down trying not to sit on any of the people still on the floor and panted, once she had caught her breath she lit her wand as Harry's had gone out when he took over the protection spell. Percy and Ron were now reasonably with it, they got carefully to their feet and both began blasting the rubble that covered them, light streamed in with each piece of rubble removed and there was soon enough light for Hermione to extinguish her wand and help with the blasting. Soon the surface of the bubble was free and Harry could drop his wand.
"Is everyone alright" he asked looking around. Ron, Hermione, Percy, all nodded at him. They all moved to check on The people still on the floor. Goyle was still unconscious, Malfoy was slumped dazed but awake next to him both unharmed.
"Fred" Harry heard Ron yell and spun round. Fred lay curled on the floor limp and bleeding badly from the head. Ron and Percy were kneeling next to him and Ron was shaking him. Hermione hurried over and dropped to his side. She felt his neck checking for a pulse "he's alive" she said after a moment "but barely, he must've been hit by the rubble before I got us under the protection spell. We need to get him to Madam Pomfrey quickly.
She's in the great hall all the wounded have been going there" spoke malfoy quietly from the floor
"I'll take him" said Percy. He scooped Fred up in his arms and dashed away down the corridor.
"The injured were being treated up on the raised platform by Madam Pomfrey and a group of helpers. Firenze was amongst the injured; his flank poured blood and he shook where he lay, unable to stand.
The dead lay in a row in the middle of the hall. Harry could see Fred amongst them, his family surrounding him. George was kneeling at his head; Mrs Weasley was lying across Fred's chest, her body shaking, Mr Weasley stroking her hair while tears cascaded down his cheeks.
Without a word to Harry, Ron and Hermione walked away. Harry saw Hermione approach Ginny, whose face was swollen and blotchy, and hug her. Ron joined Bill, Fleur and Percy, who flung an arm around Ron's shoulders. As Ginny and Hermione moved closer to the rest of the family, Harry had a clear view of the bodies lying next to Fred: Remus and Tonks, pale and still and peaceful-looking,"
"They moved Voldemort's body and laid it in a chamber off the Hall, away from the bodies of fifty others who had died fighting him. When harry had gotten away from all the others for a moment he walked slowly towards the room Where they had laid the dead. He recognised some, others he knew by sight but not by name. He searched for the three that he had come in here to see. he couldn't find them. Growing concerned he looked again at each face hunting for those of Fred, lupin, and Tonks,. Eventually he had to conclude that they were not here. Harry was growing more concerned by the second when a noise behind him made him turn. Madam pomfrey walked in levitating in front of her the body of a death eater. She took him to the far side of the room and laid him down with Voldemort and the other dead death eaters. Then turning and seeing Harry she came over to him.
"What has you looking so worried mr potter" she asked.
"Some of the bodies aren't here"
"I assure you that all of the dead are here, who are you looking for"
"Remus lupin, Nymphadora Tonks and fred Weasley"
"I heard that you were with mr Weasley when he got injured is that correct?"
"Yes I was. A corridor exploded. but where are they"
"What makes you believe they are dead"
Harry was getting frustrated. Why wouldn't she just tell him where they were.
"I saw them laying in the great hall with the dead, all the Weasleys were grouped round Fred crying and Lupin and Tonks Were next to Fred "
"Ah I see. It seems that you are suffering under a misunderstanding mr potter. during the battle The unconscious were laying on the floor of the hall next to the dead . There was nowhere else to put them at the time where they Could be monitored without being in the way.
In regard to Fred Weasley I believe you must have seen him and his family shortly after I finished attending to him. I did what I could for him but I could not tell if He would live. In fact owing to the severity of the blow to his head I felt it was most likely he would not, I told his family to prepare for the worst. Heads are tricky things even for magic. I repaired the damage to his skull and skin easily enough but There has not been a spell or potion invented that can cure a damaged brain. We had to wait to see if he awoke. I'm pleased to tell you that he did indeed awake not five minutes ago and appears to have suffered no permanent brain damage. He's currently encamped in a makeshift infirmary behind the staff table. All the unconscious were moved there when the dead were moved in here."
Harry could hardly believe his ears. Fred was alive!
"But what about lupin. And Tonks."
"Ah now that is almost amusing."
Several hours earlier.
Tonks raced through the castle. What little intel she had gleaned suggested that Remus had lead a group into to the grounds so that was where she was heading. She had come because she could not bear to be left out of the fight. she was not one to sit around and sitting at her parents not knowing if the people she cared about were alive or dead especially her best friend was more than she could deal with. She pelted out of the front doors and locked left and right. Which way now? She wondered. Some impulse lead her to go towards the greenhouses and she figured that it was as good a guess as any.
Arriving at the Herbology gardens Tonks heard the sound of duelling coming from greenhouse three and dashed in without pausing to think. Lupin and two others were fielding four death eaters. She dived into the fray casting curses left and right. Within seconds she had fought her way across the room to reach Remus side.
"What the hell are you STUPEFY doing here" he roared. A curse came flying at him and he ducked
"I had to REPULSO be with TARRENTEGULAR you all" she dived out of the way of a large flowerpot.
"I told you INPEDIMENTA to stay at your parents" he stumbled over a fallen branch and backed into the venomous tentacular "ARGH RELIAHIO you should be with PETRIFICUS teddy"
"He's fine FLIPPENDO with my mum. I couldn't bear DEFLECTO not knowing if you were IGNITUS alright"
"WILL YOU TWO PLEASE ARGUE LATER AND FOCUS ON WHAT YOUR DOING" yelled Kingsley who was on lupins other side. Remus and Tonks fell silent and with the addition of another person in Tonks the four of them began to gain ground over the death eaters. Lupin hit one with a body bind. Tonks somehow got two at once with a stunning spell and the fourth made a dash for the door, he dived through it Kingsley hot on his heels and three curses flying round him he fired one last spell over his shoulder as he disappeared from view.
"REDUCTO"
The spell missed Kingsley by millimetres and hit a bench on which stood a tray of plant pots sending the tray spinning through the air a dozen pots went flying from it and three seedlings mandrakes flew free of Their soil their bawling filling the air.
Preset
"Hagrid heard the noise from a distance and went to investigate. Giants are immune to the cry of the mandrake and it seems Hagrid inherited that little quality. He got the mandrakes back in their pots and carried lupin Tonks and Roberts up to the castle. They weren't hurt so I just laid them with the others to wait for the effects to wear off. Roberts woke up a short time ago but lupin and Tonks are still unconscious They are behind the staff table too they should wake up soon enough.".
She looked at Harry who wasn't sure how to process what he was feeling. The last several hours had been such a rollercoaster of emotion that this news although wonderful and full of relief was one thing too many on his over stretched senses. Madam Pomfrey seemed to read the overwhelm on Harry's face and guided him gently out of the room and over to a table with a gentle word of
"Come along mr potter. I believe you are in need of a sit down and a large glass of pumpkin juice"
