Catherine's POV

Vincent didn't promise too much when he invited me on a date the other night. I sat in his car, my eyes covered with a dark scarf as Vincent told me to, before he parked the car. He helped me to get out of the car and then, without warning, he lifted me into his arms.

"Vincent, let me down! " I squealed and protested, he chuckled and kissed my temple.

My left hand wandered up his neck and into his hair, I needed to touch him, feel him.

Only seconds later he stopped. "Here we are! " he whispered and slowly let me down.

He freed me from the blindfold and the view in front of me was breathtaking.

A beautifully lit skating rink lay in front of us and we were the only people around. Snow was falling and when I turned around to Vincent, I had tears in my eyes. "Oh Vincent, I ... thank you! " he kissed me sweetly before he went to the get two pairs of skates for us.

"Have you done this before? " I asked while we put the skates on.

"Mhh ... not exactly! " he stated. "You know, when Heather and I were kids, my mum used to take us to a skating rink in winter every weekend! We would do this for hours and then go home to have hot chocolate in front of the fireplace. " Being here with Vincent brought old memories back.

Hesitantly Vincent entered the ice behind me and I took hands into mine to make him feel safe. "Ok, it's easy, come on!" I laughed and slowly pulled him with me. I spinned us around, we lost our balance and he caught me in his arms. He smiled widely and I couldn't hold back from caressing his face before we kissed passionately.

Vincents POV

"Thank you for being here with me! I love you! "

Being here with her felt like a dream come true. She had changed my life, had changed who I am and I was glad I found her.

We got up and she pulled me with her again. In a corner we stopped and out of the pocket of my coat I pulled the second surprise for her, two tickets to Miami. After everything I put her through, we needed some time for ourselves, away from home and work.

Her smile took my breath away and I knew that she was the woman I wanted to spend my future with. Being here with the woman I loved made me the happiest man on earth and I promised to myself that I would never hurt her again.
