Chapter 10
For some reason something didn't feel right to Kagome. And as her friends set at the restaurant table eating, she really felt something was wrong. "So Kagome what's your boyfriend like anyway?" Aiko asked, leaning a little closer to Kagome.
"Yeah anyway Kagome. Is he really cute, what's his name?" Emi replied.
Kagome just stared at her friends. As her cheeks started to turn red. "Well...um...he's very nice, and quiet. Sometimes he can be moody, but then so am I sometimes I guess." Kagome continued answering most of their questions basically telling them what InuYasha looked like. But she gave them his description Of him on the night of the new moon. She couldn't tell them he had silver hair and golden eyes. They would really wonder what he was. When she finished all her friends seemed to be in another world.
"Um are you guys alright?" Kagome asked while waving her hand in front of their faces.
"He sounds dreamy Kagome." Kei said.
"I bet the sex is even better." Emi added.
"WHAT?!" Kagome shouted, as her face turned as red as a Inuyasha's robes.
"See I knew it, her face is soooo red. That's all the proof I need." Emi said. Kei gave Emi's arm a slap for her response to Kagome's red face.
Getting herself under control, Kagome then spoke. "Look we haven't gone that far yet. We just got back together after not seeing each other for three years. But he really hasn't changed in those years."
All three of her friends just stared at Kagome. Kei leaned over and whispered in Aiko's ear. "You know their in love when a girl has that look in her eyes." Aiko nodded and then told them that she needed to head to work. "Yeah I need to get going too." Kagome said, picking up her things.
Kei told Kagome they could walk home together. Since they only lived a block away from each other. "Thanks for walking home with me Kei. My boyfriend doesn't like it when I'm alone. I can't really blame him though. I was kidnapped on the train ride here from Tokyo."
"You were kidnapped Kagome?! Please tell me they caught the guy." Kei sounded nervous which made Kagome a little worried. " Look Kagome you need to be careful. There's some guy he's very rich and lives not far from here. They say he uses girls and young women our age as away to test drugs. The cops have tried to catch him for years but they have no evidence. And no woman have ever made it out alive."
Kagome felt a chill go up her spin as Kei spoke. 'Could that guy on the train be working for this other guy?' Kagome thought, as they neared Kei's apartment. Kei and Kagome said their good-byes, and Kagome headed to her apartment.
Kagome started feeling safer now that she was heading for her door. Taking her key from her pocket she went to unlock the door. But the sight before her caused her to freeze. The blood on the door knob only made her uneasy feeling return. "Oh no!" Kagome quietly said, as she unlocked the door and slowly walked in.

It took all he had to get back to the apartment. Some of the bleeding had stopped, but his hands were covered in blood. The further he went the worse he got. His vision blurred, his body was getting weaker. He knew his time was getting shorter as his breath slowed. InuYasha only made it through the apartment door when he blacked out. "K-Ka..go..m-me.." He spoke her name in a quiet whisper as the darkness claimed him. Her name slipping past his lips probably for the last time.
"INUYASHA!" Kagome cried out when she opened the door and found him face down on the floor. But he never answered or even moved. Falling to her knees she crawled over to him. "InuYasha, what happened?! Please answer me!" Kagome said, as she rolled him over. Her eyes were a blur from the tears in them. But she needed to keep calm InuYasha needed her. His body was limp and felt almost cold. Placing her ear on his chest she heard the faint sound of his heartbeat. Then he gave a small gasp for air.
"Oh InuYasha what do I do?" Her tears started to fall, but she knew time was growing short. 'Okay I need to figure this out and quick!' Kagome thought, as she opened his robes. "Oh my god InuYasha!" Kagome gasped out when she saw his chest covered in gun shot wounds. 'I don't get it he was shot before and he was alright. What's the difference now?' Kagome thought. Something told her to check his wounds and sure enough she found that all the bullets were still lodged in his body.
Getting up from her spot beside him she went to the kitchen to get a knife. Coming back to her beloved hanyou she whispered how sorry she was for what she had to do next. Taking the knife she carefully cut out each bullet. The operation took time but she did it, and by the time she removed the last bullet. She could tell InuYasha was slowly getting better. "Well that's the last of them. Now to wrap you up InuYasha."
Since she couldn't sit him up and wrap him at the same time. She simply covered his wounds with gulls and tape. Then covered him with a blanket. "Well InuYasha I hope I did the right thing." Kagome said, as she stood to get herself cleaned up. After washing up, Kagome went to the kitchen to make some soup. After placing the pan on the stove. She went to check on InuYasha. Finding him still sound asleep. She smiled when she saw his breathing getting more regular. Then she made her way back to the stove. The soup now warm she poured it into her bowl, and headed back to where InuYasha was.
As she ate, her mind kept trying to figure out just what happened. After she finished eating her soup. She placed her now empty soup bowl in the sink, she then went to the bedroom and grabbed her pillow and extra blanket. She checked InuYasha's wounds once more and settled down beside him.
"Oh my handsome hanyou. Please get better soon. I feel lost not having you holding me tonight." To her surprise his arm wrapped around her and pulled her close to him. His voice was weak but she heard every word. "I'll always hold you close Kagome. And thank you for everything." After his words a smile was all that showed on his face. And she knew he was going to make it. She moved closer to him and kissed his lips, before falling to sleep.
The sun's rays woke her. And she was surprised to find InuYasha still sound asleep. 'Whatever those bullets were they sure did a number on him.' Kagome thought feeling his forehead for any sign of fever. Feeling her hand on his head, he slowly opened his eyes. Seeing his eyes now open she gave him a smile as she brushed his bangs to the side. "Feeling any better InuYasha?"
"Tired." Was all he said as his eyes drifted shut again. Kissing his cheek she went to the kitchen to make breakfast. Looking over she noticed the pan she placed the bullets in. Her miko senses told her there was something evil about them, but she couldn't quit figure it out.
"I've never seen InuYasha this weak before. Whoever did this to him knows he's a demon. But how would anyone in my time know about demons?" Kagome said to herself, as she finish mixing the eggs. She didn't feel like eating a lot. So a simple egg sandwich was all she made. She decided even though it was only the second day of college she'd skip. She wasn't leaving InuYasha in his condition. Plus things were getting just a little too weird.
