Chapter 11

Takehiko and Masaru returned to the hind out. Takehiko was glowing a smile was on his face. He had succeeded, the monster that clawed his face was dead. "I must say that felt really good Masaru. Takehiko said, slapping Masaru's on the shoulder.

Masaru however was not impressed. "Do not start celebrating just yet idiot. That hanyou is stronger then most I've ever seen." Masaru was looking through some of his scrolls.

"Heh, he's dead you said so yourself that those bullets would kill him."

"We can only hope he's dead. And didn't make it back to the miko."

Takehiko stood and walked to where Masaru was looking over the scolls. "Tell me, how is it you know she's a miko? Whatever that is."

Masaru looked at Takehiko from the corner of his eye. "Just how stupid are you? A miko or priestess have special spirtual powers. Obviously you know nothing of your past."

Takehiko just rolled his eyes and walked away. "Like I care about the past. I live in the here and now. Not five hundred years ago."

"Well then do not question someone who has lived that long!" Masaru turned to face Takehiko. His eyes were a deadly color red, and his face seemed to be changing too.

"Oh...my...god! Takehiko slowly backed away. "You're a demon!"

Masaru stopped his transformation. "Shut-up you idiot. I'm not a full demon, I'm just like that jerk you shot. Unlike him though I was born full human."

Takehiko was now totally confused. "Wait, how can that be?" He took a seat at a table Masaru had full of books and scrolls.

"I wanted power, power to kill every demon that I came across. True I was born from a monk and demon slayer. But that wasn't enough. I wanted to live a long life, longer then any person could. So I sold my soul to a demon."

"Wait you can actually do that?" Takehiko asked, as he opened one of Masaru's books.

"Yes. I did it because I want to make sure that I killed every demon whether they be half or full demon. I want to make them pay for what happened to my family."

The morning sun was starting to shine through the window. The birds outside were singing their morning songs. And inside Kagome was starting wake. She ran her hand over his chest. Then stopped when her hand touched a gull. She slowly pealed away one of the gulls to cheek his bullet wound. "Sigh, it's not healing like it should. There should only be a scar here now." She checked the rest and found the same thing. She sighed again then checked his forehead for any signs of fever.

"Well there's no fever, so that's one good thing." As she removed her hand, his eyes slowly opened. Then he gave her a smile for the first time since the accident. Cupping his cheek in her hand, she smiled back. "How are you feeling my love?" She asked, her voice was a bit shaky.

"B-been...better." He weakly spoke.

She knew he wasn't out of the woods yet. "Can you at least tell me something about what happened? I mean how is it you were shot on the train, and nothing happened. And now you got shot and you're as weak as a kitten." Tears started to fall down her cheeks. She knew this was serious. After all the battles they'd been through, she never saw her InuYasha like this.

She lightly rubbed his cheek with her thumb. As he tried to speak, but his voice was growing weaker. She could only catch parts of what happened. Guy from train and special magic was all she heard. "Just rest love, I need to look at something quick."

Leaving his side for a brief moment she went to get the bowl with the bullets. Taking one of bullets out she carefully looked it over. The only thing she could see was there was some kind of black powder on the tips. "I wonder?" When she touched the black substance. Her miko powers sparked and the powder disappeared. 'Now what? Do I try to do the same to InuYasha?' Kagome thought as she looked at the bullet.

Returning to his side, she tried to think of how she could do this. "InuYasha, I don't know what to do. I purified the powder on the bullet. But how do I purify what's in you?" She started to cry harder, she felt so helpless at that moment.

Suddenly she felt herself being pulled down. She looked and saw herself face to face with him. Golden eyes staring into her brown eyes. "I-I...know...y-you...can...do it..."

His words gave her the courage to try. She remembered purifying the sacred jewel in Kohaku's neck during the final battle with Naraku. "But what if I purify you and..." He pulled her down completely. Crushing his lips to hers.

When she pulled away he quietly said. "You won't."

"O-okay InuYasha." Taking a deep breath Kagome gathered up all her courage. Then rubbed her hands together. See looked at him one more time before closing her eyes and placing her hands over his chest.

Her hands started to glow a light pink, which quickly grew brighter. Her powers were just as strong as before. InuYasha gave a sharp cry of pain almost breaking her concentration. She knew he was in pain and in this weak state, but knew she need to continue. No matter how much she wanted to stop, she knew she couldn't.

The phone rang and Takehiko picked it up. "Hello?" After the conversation he slammed the phone down.

"Not good news I take it? Masaru asked.

"Eiji wants the girl, by tonight." Takehiko said pacing the floor.

"Then what's your problem? The monster is dead. Just go get her." Masaru cracked a smile almost like he knew that trouble was lurking.

"You're coming with me, you know that right? Takehiko said picking up his keys.

"Of course after all I want to meet the great destroyer of the Shikon jewel." Masaru gave a mighty chuckle. And Takehiko just shook his head.
