Chapter 12

Tears and sweat fell down Kagome's face. InuYasha was now in his human form. But he was alive, and at least breathing. His wounds were still visible, but looked to be healing now. "We hopefully it worked, I guess time will tell." Kagome said, getting up from the floor.

The purification had taken a lot out of her. So Kagome decided to get something to eat then take a quick nap, before her afternoon class. Now snuggled next to InuYasha she rested peacefully.

Meanwhile Takehiko and Mararu waited outside the apartment. "Damn, how long is she going to be in there?" Takehiko growled out.

"You are a very impatient man Takehiko. The miko's next class is in the afternoon. She'll be out soon, she's definitely in there. Though her powers seem weaker then before." Mararu started to wonder just what had this powerful miko's powers so weak. Had she found the hanyou and healed him?

"What's your problem Mararu? You act like you're worried about something?" Takehiko asked Mararu, while getting more comfortable in his seat.

"Its nothing really, just getting myself mentally prepared to meet this Kagome Higurashi. I've heard a lot about her in my years growing up."

Takehiko gave Mararu a strange look. "You sure are one weirdo in my book."

It was then they noticed a girl approaching the apartment. "Say isn't that the same girl that walked home with this Kagome girl we want?" Takehiko pointed out to Mararu.

"Yes I believe it is. I say we take both girls, after all why should we do all the work and not have any fun?" Mararu said with a chuckle. Takehiko nodded his agreement, as they waited.

The spiritual powers Kagome used had her feeling tired and almost sick. She forgot that Kei was going to walk with her to class today. Plus InuYasha still had not woken up yet. How could she leave knowing he was weak and in his human form.

The sudden knock at the door startled her. When a voice said hello, Kagome remembered Kei. 'I almost forgot I was walking to class with her today.' Kagome thought to herself.

After fixing her hair some, and straightening her clothes a bit. Kagome decided she was at least presentable to her friend. Opening the door for her friend Kagome sighed in relief. "Kei, thank god it's only you."

Kei was worried now. "Kagome, are you okay? You look so tired, and why aren't you ready for class?" Kei asked Kagome.

"Sigh! Look something happened and well..."

"Well what, Kagome?!" Now Kei was getting really worried.

"Look I don't know for sure, but I think someone is after me and my boyfriend."

Kei stared at Kagome with great concern. She was really worried now. "Kagome, what happened? Did someone hurt you?"

Kagome didn't know how to tell Kei about what happened. It was when a moan came from the next room that both girls looked at each other.

Slowly he started to wake up. Pain ran through his body, it's was morning but he was still in human form. Suddenly two girls came running into the room. It was Kagome who came in first. Kneeling down beside him. "Oh InuYasha, how are you feeling?"

He turned his head towards her and gave her a smile. "Well I'm alive so that must be a good sign."

Kagome smiled back at him. "Yeah and I'm so glad you are. Though I am worried, you're still human. Why didn't you change back?"

He was about to answer her, when he noticed Kei. "Kagome, who's that?" InuYasha weakly asked.

Kagome looked to see Kei peeking into the room. Kei was a little nervous. "H-Hi." She quietly said.

kagome gave her friend a smile as she stood. "Kei, this is InuYasha. He's my boyfriend and husband to be someday."

Kei just stayed quiet for a second. She couldn't believe how handsome this guy was. Plus he looked like he was shot up really bad. "Kagome, what happened to him?"

Giving a heavy sigh, Kagome then told Kei about how she found InuYasha all shot up when she got home. This confused Kei, why was he here and not at the hospital? He obviously needs medical help.

Taking Kei by the hand Kagome started explaining things. They talked about InuYasha and the fuedal era. Kagome just hoped it was the right thing to do. Afterwards Kagome pleaded with Kei to keep all she just heard a secret. Kei nodded she understood and hugged Kagome.

"Thank-you Kei." Kagome said returning her friends hug.

A knock at the door caused the two friends to freeze. "I wonder who that is?" Kagome asked, as she walked to the door.

Kei was right behind her, though a shiver went through her body. "Kagome I don't like this. Maybe you should just not answer it."

At that moment Kagome turned the door knob. And the door went flying open. Kagome hit the floor hard, knocking her out. Before Kei knew it a pair of arms wrapped around her. "Well, well. It looks like this will be easier then we thought." Takehiko said to Mararu, as he held Kei from moving or screaming.

"Yes and it seems the miko is out cold." Mararu chuckled as he picked Kagome up. Takehiko, tie that bitch up you're holding. Then see if the hanyou is here." Mararu said, handing Takehiko the rope.

Hearing the commotion in the next room had InuYasha worried. With out his sense of smell he could only guess who was in the next room. Pulling his still injured body up, he saw what was going on. Knowing he didn't have chance wounded and still human. InuYasha found a place to hide. 'Dont worry Kagome, I'll save you. But I'm no good to you now or if they kill me. Damn this weak human body.' InuYasha thought, as he hid.

Not finding the hanyou or monster as Takehiko called him. He decide his revenge was done. He killed the beast that clawed his face. Picking up the now tied up girl, Takehiko and Mararu had gotten what they came for and now left the apartment to enjoy their victory. But little do they know the hell they were going to soon face.
