Chapter 15
With his sword in hand InuYasha followed Masaru. It wasn't long till Kagome's scent came to him. Turning a corner and down a long hallway he went. He was very cautious Masaru knew him a little to well. And it was almost like he knew this guy from somewhere.
As InuYasha went further down the hallway, Kagome's scent was getting stronger and his heart started racing. Something about her scent was off and it was unsettling to him. Just as he turned the last corner he was hit by a barrier. "Damn him! I knew this was going to be a challenge." He raised Tetsusaiga and soon it glowed a deep red. With one slice the barrier was gone. InuYasha wasted no time now, Kagome needed him and something was telling him time wasn't on his side at the moment.
When he went through where the barrier was he saw a room and then he heard Masaru voice. InuYasha didn't stop he charged into the room calling her name. "Kagome!"
Masaru grinned when he saw InuYasha standing before him. "Oh InuYasha, you're just in time. The last of your precious Kagome's powers and life force are about to be mine." He started laughing a deep evil laugh. As he watch InuYasha trying to figure out what to do.
InuYasha knew he had move quick, and he also knew Masaru would be ready for him to attack. 'No there had to be away to stop this mad half demon?' He through, as he looked for an answer. InuYasha noticed a strange purplish glow coming from a strange vase. 'I have to destroy that thing.' InuYasha thought. Without a second thought he called out his wind scar.
Masaru wasn't quick enough to put up a barrier, but he wasn't going to just let InuYasha destroy all his hard work. "I might not be able to save my miko energy, but I will still make you pay for this InuYasha." Masaru yelled out over the mighty clash of light. InuYasha's wind scar had hit its target releasing all the power from the miko's Masaru had collected over hundreds of years. The bright purplish light started fade to into a single beam of light which started flowing into Kagome.
At that very same moment Masaru attacked InuYasha from behind. "Let's see if you can over come this purification spell half breed." After saying a quick chant he threw the sutra at InuYasha. It sealed its self to his back and admitted its sealing power. Masaru chuckled as he watched the sutra send it's intense power through InuYasha's body. Shock after shock hit his body as it purified his demon energy.
It was InuYasha's screams of pain that woke Kagome. And after all of her power returned she felt stronger then ever before. She now harnessed the power of all the miko's before her. The strange ropes Masaru had bond her with melted like butter from her wrists. Her hair blow all around her as the power settled into her body and form a new jewel.
Masaru was to busy watching InuYasha's suffering to notice that Kagome was now standing. She was now right behind him with her hands out ready to grab his shoulders. Her hands glowed a bright purple mixed with a hint of red. When her hands made contact with him he cried out in pain. "Not as much fun now is it? You enjoyed watching InuYasha being purified, but now you'll suffer far worse." It was only a matter of seconds before only a pile of dust was laying at her feet. And once Masaru was no more Kagome quickly turned her attention to InuYasha.
Kagome pealed the seal from InuYasha back and caught him before he fell. His robes were smoking and his body felt like a hot iron. Kagome quickly worked off his robes and the metal trash can he used as armor. Her eyes started tearing up, but now wasn't the time for that. "I must say InuYasha you are a cleaver one. I can't believe you thought of using the trash can as armor." Kagome said, as she worked the can off him. He didn't answer her. This was bad and she had no water or supplies to treat him.
As Kagome looked over InuYasha's body a voice came to her. "Kagome, use your powers." She quickly turned looking for the woman who spoke. 'There's no one here.' Kagome thought. She moved back looking at InuYasha once again.
"Kagome, use your powers." The voice said again.
This time Kagome all but yelled out. "Who's there!" It was quiet and then.
"I am a miko from the jewel. Use your miko powers to save him."
"A-A miko from the jewel? What jewel?" Kagome was really confused now. What jewel was there? Suddenly a soft purple glow came from her side, the very same spot the Shikon jewel was ripped from her body.
"This jewel, the miko jewel that was formed from all the miko's Masaru collected. The energy has flowed into your body and created the jewel." Kagome didn't know what to think. Just three years ago she destroyed the Shikon jewel and now there's is another jewel.
"But how can I heal him with miko powers? I'll purify him for sure." She felt a warm sensation flow through her body. "What is this feeling?" Kagome asked.
The voice spoke again. "This is your healing powers Kagome, your touch will heal him."
Taking a deep breath, Kagome reached out and left her hands touch InuYasha. Her fingers glowed a light pink as her healing powers started healing InuYasha's wounded body.
After a few minutes InuYasha started to move alittle. "InuYasha, how are you feeling?" Kagome asked, as she started removing her hands from his body.
His golden eyes looked up at her with great relief. "I'm fine, it's you I was worried about."
Hearing his voice gave her a great feeling of joy and she fell on his chest letting her tears fall. "Hey what's with the tears Kagome?" He asked, putting his arms around her.
Kagome, sighed and moved back smiling at him. "I'm just so glad you're okay InuYasha, I thought I lost you this time. That Masaru, he was nothing like his father."
InuYasha was totally confused. "His father?"
"Yeah, Masaru was Sango's and Miroku's son."
