Oh yay I updated one of my older stories again! Trying my best still to move around to all the different stories I got. So here is this one! Woo!

Ch.3

Day 112

The following day Roxas had gone through everything like normal. He got his mission and went about it and got it done as quickly as he could. He had thought about asking how Maria was, but he knew Saix wouldn't give him any answers. He could only hope that she was doing okay. He still didn't like the fact that Maria had to stay locked in the cell, but he knew better than to try to argue against Saix.

Once he had finished up his mission for the day he headed out to Twilight Town to met up with Axel and Xion like usual. They both were already there waiting for him, just about to start their ice creams. Roxas took his seat and bite into his own ice cream bar. They talked about their work for the day for a little while like they normally did, but later on Roxas's thoughts wandered back to Maria He thought of her sitting all alone in that cell. Sitting there all alone with no one to talk to or anything.

"I still wonder about Maria…" Roxas said as he looked out at the sunset.

"The half Heartless girl?" Xion asked.

Roxas nodded. "She is still in one of the cells. I just don't think she should be locked up like that. It just doesn't feel right."

"But you don't really know anything about her," Axel said. "You said you found her in The World That Never Was and that she was half Heartless. That isn't just some normal occurrence you know."

"Yeah I know… But still… she seems like a nice person," Roxas replied.

"And she may be. But what I am saying is that she is half Heartless as you said. That could prove to be dangerous,' Axel said.

"But you don't think that she should have to stay locked up, do you?" Xion asked.

Axel shrugged. "I don't know...I guess not."

Roxas ate more of his ice cream after that, but he still kept thinking about Maria. He just couldn't stop thinking about her and the fact she was half Heartless. "How could something like that happen though? It just doesn't make any sense…"

Suddenly a new thought came to him. "Do you think though that there could be some way to reverse it? Like remove the Heartless half of her?"

Axel chuckled slightly. "You think I have all the answers? I honestly have no idea. I've never heard of someone ever being half Heartless. Did she ever say if she knew why she is like that?"

Roxas shook his head. "No she said she couldn't remember. But there's gotta be some way right?"

Axel just shrugged again. "Still have no idea. It would be nice if there is a way."

"I hope there is one," Xion added it. "It sounds terrible to be a half Heartless. I hope she will be all right."

"Me too…" Roxas agreed.

The three then continued to watch the sunset together until they all decided to head back. Once they got back to the Castle That Never Was they split up to go their different directions for the night. Roxas knew he still had to fill out his mission report as well as his journal for the night, but he wanted to do something else first. He wanted to check how Maria was doing. He had made sure to buy a sandwich and some small snacks before he had headed back to the castle because he figured that Saix probably wouldn't give Maria anything.

Roxas entered into the cell holding area and walked down to the cell Maria was in. He saw her sitting against one of the walls with her arms resting on her knees. She was staring off that the wall adjacent to her. She didn't even notice when Roxas was standing in front of the cell.

"Maria?" Roxas asked.

Maria flinched slightly and turned to look at Roxas. "Oh… Roxas, it's you." Maria walked a little closer to the front of the cell and sat down.

"How are you doing today?" Roxas asked to start off the conversation.

"I'm okay… I guess. I didn't get much sleep last night though…" Maria said with a sigh.

"Oh… I'm sorry to hear there. Did Saix bother you at all today?" Roxas asked. He knew Saix said he was going to find out more about Maria, but Roxas didn't like the thought of Saix possibly interrogating her.

Maria shook her head. "No… Not today. I've just been by myself."

"I'm sorry…" Roxas sighed. "I wish there was more I could do to help you. Oh here, I brought you some food." Roxas held out the food to Maria.

Maria smiled and took the food. "Thank you Roxas. You've done a lot for me though. I wouldn't want you to go out of your way or anything."

"But you should at least getting some food or something. I'll try to bring you more in the morning before I go out on my mission," Roxas replied.

"Oh please… you don't need to do that for me. Really… I'm fine…" Maria said as her smile faded away. Her eyes shifted off to the side as she seemed lost in her own thoughts again.

"No really Maria. I am going to find a way to help you," Roxas said as he gave her a friendly smile. He did truly want to help her. Not only did he want her to have somewhere more proper to sleep, but he also wanted to figure out more about her Heartless half. Maybe if he could just learn what caused it to happen to her, maybe there was a way to reverse it.

Maria looked back at Roxas. "Thank you… That means a lot to me."

"You're welcome," Roxas replied. "But now I guess I gotta get back and fill out my report. But I promise I will help you."

Maria thanked Roxas one last time before he headed off. Once again Maria was then left alone. She was still a little sad that she was all alone and locked up, but she was also glad that there was someone like Roxas around to talk to. She then began to eat the food she had been given. It was the first really food she had in awhile so she savored every moment of it.

Later that night Saix had just finished filing the mission reports for the day. After everything was sorted and put away he grabbed a clipboard with blank sheets of paper and made his way down to the prison cells. He approached the cell that held Maria and looked inside once he arrived. She was fast sleep on the floor of the cell, but she was tossing and turning. The antennas on her head twitched back and forth as she turned around in her sleep.

Saix watched her for a moment. He watched and studied her movements. He made some notes on his paper before he spoke up.

"Wake up," Said said as he knocked on one of the cell bars.

Maria's head shot up as she stared wide-eyed at Saix. He could tell something was different about her right now. Her eyes were wide and hazy looking. Not only that, but her left eye was glowing far more than it did before.

She swayed back and forth slightly as her antennas continued to twitch. In the second she lunged at the front gate of the cell. She tried to claw at the bars, as if she was trying to get through them, but the magic barrier placed on them prevented that.

Saix did not look surprised at Maria's actions, instead he made more notes on his clipboard. "Hm… just as I expected."

Without any words Maria's continued to claw at the magic barrier. Saix narrowed his eyes before he held out his hand and sent a dark energy ball through the barrier and directly at Maria's.

She was flung back, her back colliding with the wall. Her body slumped to the floor as her head swayed slightly. She moaned as she opened her eyes. Her yellow eye was no longer glowing as strongly and the hazy look was also gone. She placed a hand on her forehead as she tried to regain her senses.

"Hmm what? What's going on?..." She murmured. She blinked a few times before she noticed Saix standing in front of the cell. "You! What… are you doing here now?"

"I suppose you do not recall what just happened?" Said asked, ignoring her question.

"What just… happened? What do you mean? I was just sleeping and then I woke up," Maria asked.

"I see…" Saix made a quick note on his papers.

"What are you talking about? Please! Just tell me!" Maria pleaded.

"I had reason to believe that your Heartless half could take control over you. And what I saw just now was proof."

Maria's eyes widened. "Take… control?"

"Yes. Tell me, since finding yourself like that, have you experienced blackouts? Being in one place but awaking in another?"

Maria gasped but didn't answer.

"And I also have reason to believe you did not tell me the truth before. You may not remember how you became like that but you must remember something else correct?"

Maria lowered her head. "I… I do remember something… It isn't much though. I remember waking up in a town… i don't remember much of it though. I can only recall I was running a lot. And then I somehow ended up in the place Roxas found me." Maria raised her head back up and looked at Saix. "Please! Did you figure out what is happening to me? Can you please tell me?"

"There is still more I must research first. But I have come to the conclusion of one thing. From the looks of it… your Heartless half is slowly taking over."

And that wraps up that. This story will be a short let story but I hope you all enjoy the random idea that is this story.

See you all next time.
