Grimmjow watched in silence as Ushio chased the dog around the yard. He didn't even know Sunako had a dog, the German Shepard had been living with Chad since she returned home from Germany about two weeks ago. He was glad for the dog since it meant he and Sunako could relax for the day. Sunako sat next to him in one of lawn chairs asleep, painkillers finally working. After all her adrenaline wore off the wound bled profusely, the bullet wound deeper then either first thought. He couldn't believe that someone bothered to riddle his flat with bullets. Grimmjow lived on the sixth floor, to go to all that effort was insane, why not just bomb the place? He was just lucky that they didn't decide to take that route, things would have been a lot worse considering Gin and his family were visiting. The two of them knew how to protect themselves from bomb blasts but Shiro would have lost her baby. He let out a tiny groan, head ache forming the more he thought about it.

"What's got ya worried Grimm?" Sunako asked, her voice incredibly groggy. She lay on her good side, eyes barely open. Grimmjow leaned over moving the hair from her face, still looking worried. He wanted her to sleep the day away and relax not worry about him.

"Go back to sleep love, ya got shot today ya need the rest," he said, getting out of his lawn chair to move it right next to hers. Sunako smiled when he moved closer.

"It's okay Grimm, I've been through worse. I'll sleep for now but tomorrow I'm gonna find out who messed up our place," she muttered shifting onto her back again.

"Mama are you okay?" The pair jumped at Ushio's sudden voice.

"I'm fine baby, just a little tired so I'm going to have another nap." Ushio nodded running toward the house at her top speed, with the most serious look on her face. Grimmjow turned to Sunako confused, he'd never seen Ushio look that serious before.

"Every time I get hurt and say I need to sleep she reads to me from her favourite book. The reason being when ever I read to her, she sleeps better."

"I've got it Mama," Ushio shouted, launching herself right into Grimmjow's lap. He groaned in mock pain, Ushio giggling at him.

"So what have ya brought to read to mama?" Grimmjow asked, holding the book while she got comfy on his lap. The brothers Grimm tales was the book he was holding for her, she must have really liked the version's of the stories they told. Grimm turned to Sunako with a look of concern on his face as he remembered how their tales all ended in bloodshed, Sunako managed a giggle before shaking her head, knowing what he was thinking.

"I'm going to read Sleeping beauty, and then you can wake mama up with a kiss since you're her prince."

"Okay, I shan't shirk my duties. I shall kiss the lovely princess awake upon the appointed time," he said, kissing Ushio on the cheek before kissing Sunako on the hand. The pair giggled at his antics, Ushio comparing him to a knight before she started reading the story.

Ushio yawned closing her book. She hadn't finished the story but her mama and papa had already fallen asleep, the couple holding hands. Reading made her sleepy but she had to return the book to her first. As she slid down the lawn chair she noticed her uncle watching her.

"Hinato," she called, he scared her, she felt safer with Hinato by her side, "Hinato heel." The German Shepard sat next to her, Ushio grabbed her collar for protection. Uncle Sōsuke moved closer, bending down to her height when he was about a metre away. Hinato growled softly, moving to lay in front of her. Aizen wanted kick that feral mutt, as long as it was protecting the girl he would never be able to get close.

"There is no need to be afraid of me Ushio," he said, wondering what it would take to get closer to her. A thought had been plaguing him the past few days. What If Ushio weren't Grimmjow's daughter? Maybe if that were the case he could steal Sunako away from him.

"You have eyes like mama and papa but they aren't nice like theirs." So she knew what the eyes of a killer looked like then, that was interesting.

"I see, isn't there some way we could become friends? I really want to get to know you better Ushio seeing as we are family now."

"No."

"It wounds me, your unwillingness to be friends. Now down to business, Grandpa is looking for you, he asked me to see if you were outside. Shall we go find out what he wanted?" Ushio just started at him before tugging on Hinato's collar, walking past him and towards the house without a word. Aizen was really beginning to hate the brat, she was much smarter then a three year old should be. Smart enough to be Grimmjow's legitimate offspring and if anything he was going to find out if what they said was the truth.
