Chapter 6
A couple of days have passed since Rhinox and Mina had made the schematics of the relay-post to cover more grounds for the Maximals. Right now they are adding some final touches to the posts, while Cheetor and Kima were working on something while Dinobot and Soren were working on a bomb they'll use against the Predacons; Kushi and the animals were helping Rattrap on the monitors looking out for Optimus; Liara; Aurora and Son, however the storm kept blocking their signals when they tried to contact them.
"And done, that's the last of them" Rhinox said as he finished with the survey post,
Mina added "The survey posts are done guys; Rattrap, Kush any word from our scout team?"
"Not a flicker, this storm s trashing the comlink worse than usual and that's bad enough" Rattrap replied.
Dinobot just huffed and said "This mission is too critical to be interrupted by a minor variation of weather" he looked around for something and then growled out of frustration "Raagghh, who took the synchrolaser?"
Cheetor turned around with said tool "Allow me,"
He went to the bomb, however the bomb was zapped out of their reach towards the entrance, Dinobot spun around outraged and took Cheetor's neck in his hand shaking him while saying "You hyper little…" the rest was out yelled by Rattrap, who along with the others were watching the bomb
"The bomb!…..watch out" he shielded himself while Rhinox and the others were holding on to each other and shielded Kushi.
Suddenly Optimus came through the entrance along with Son, Liara and Aurora, Optimus had said bomb in his hand flipping it a little looking skeptical at all of them "Some sort of trouble?" he asked them.
Everyone calmed down at the sight of them, Kushi went towards her sister and jumped in her arms whimpering a little.
"You're all wet!" she exclaimed Son just smiled at her tiredly and Aurora tried to rinse herself a little. "It's raining cats and dogs out there, I wouldn't be surprised if the three of us catch a cold by tomorrow" Aurora told the others, while Cheetor went to get the bomb from Optimus.
"No trouble big bot, just locking down the old big ba-bang, just one last adjustment and there we're set to blast that Predacon base back into orbit as space debris" just than the bomb was making some noise again causing everyone to alarm but calmed down when it stopped. Son and Optimus both looked at each other and shook their heads "Sorry guys, but with this storm is going to be impossible place them in the area" Son told the others, to which some were protesting "What do you mean?" Rhinox asked them.
"The storm is getting worse and will hit us within the hour, we're stalled" Optimus said.
Cheetor commented on that "An hour?! More than enough time for me place them, let me do it boss-bot"
Son just shook her head at Cheetors naïve behaviour "Sorry Cheetor but placing them will need focused calculations and we can't afford to make any mistakes, besides we don't even know what this storm might do to the unstable energon nearby"
Everyone looked curious at that statement, but Cheetor was still persisten "Come on, I'm not some dipy cub ya know have a little faith in me. I know I screwed up with Kima but this time she's not going with me, besides I don't need to be mothered"
This caused everyone to stop what they're doing, until Optimus spoke up outraged by Cheetor's comment "Cheetor you will not talk to Son that way do you understand?! And like it or not our words are final"
Cheetor wasn't faced but still looked disappointed and left the room; the others felt a little awkward being in the middle of the argument. Son just shook her head; she felt a little bad for Cheetor and concern for Optimus. The others were getting back to what they were doing, Kushi went to get some towels for her sisters, Soren with Liara's and Aurora's help were trying to complete the bomb, and no one saw Dinobot sneaking after Cheetor's retreating form. Except for a certain nature warrior, who felt bad for Cheetor but watched what Dinobot was planning.
Sometime later in the storm
Cheetor was running at one of the locations the relay post needed to be set, not knowing he had a follower. Personally he didn't want to get on Optimus's and Son's bad side, but he just wanted to prove himself and not just to them but most of all Kima.
"This will show them, and then maybe I won't be treated like a kid anymore and Kima might like me more than a friend"
"Is that why you're disobeying orders Cheetor?"
Cheetor jumped at the sudden question and spun around to see Kima staring at him with her arms crossed. Cheetor began to stutter trying to explain what he meant, but Kima held her hand up
"Cheetor you don't need to prove yourself to anyone, you already have their respect and mine. Besides didn't you promise to be a team-player?Tthat's not what I'm seeing here now!"
Cheetor lowered his head ashamed but before he could answer lighting strucked the relay post hitting them in the process. Both screamed but out of shock than pain and disappeared in thin air.
At the Predacons base
Terrasaur was sitting in front of the monitor checking for anything when suddenly the scanners showed movement and got a little excited. "W-what was tha...huh?! Owh whom am I kidding no Maximal would be stupid enough to pull something at a time like this" he said disappointed, suddenly the monitor started to glow and he was shoved away while both Cheetor and Kima appeared on the keyboard.
"Whoah where the spotted heck did we land into?" Cheetor asked, while Kima groaned "Dangit what just happened?" They both heard a laugh and saw Terrasaur appear in front of them.
"Hehehehe welcome to enemies arms Maxifools, prepare to be obliterated, TERRASAUR TERRORIZE!"
He transformed and readies his weapon, while Cheetor and Kima were readieng themselves. "CHEETOR MAXIMI..!? Owh did that already" Cheetor said feeling a little stupid in front of Kima, but she didn't pay any attention and kept focus on Terrasaur. The Predacon started shooting at them, both jumped to avoid the blast. Cheetor landed on one of the floating platforms, but he was dangling on the sides, while Kima held onto a railing near the controls. Terrasaur tried blasting Cheetor of the platform, but he was fast to take action and got out his blaster and jumped on the platform whilst shooting at Terrasaur. The Predacon dodged his attacks for a while but didn't see Kima starting to shoot her arrows at him and hit him square on the chest distracting him from Cheetor's blast. Cheetor saw his opening and blasted the flying Predacon off the platform onto another. Cheetor activated his platform and flew where Kima was allowing her to hitch a ride with him.
"Nice job cool-cat, now let's find a way out of here and back to base…," before she could continue, Terrasaur had composed himself and blasted them both off the platform, Cheetor landed on another one while Kima was dangling from some wires on the roof. Terrasaur just ignored the girl and went to Cheetor mocking him "I heard you were swift kitty, but not enough for me and as for your pet I'll give her a nice collar when I ask Megatron for her as a reward" smiling sadistically at Kima who just glared at him.
This got Cheetor mad and he jumped on the platform while transforming "You keep your disgusting claws away from my girl you flying-turkey" and roared while jumping at him and causing him to land on the controls where both of them had appeared from. Kima and Cheetor were amazed when they saw Terrasaur disappear in a flash.
"Whoah, that was weird?!" Kima said to Cheetor who picked her up again, she cut herself loose and landed in his arms. He looked at her and started to blush when she was so close, Kima had heard what he said and started to wonder "What did you mean by your girl?" she asked him.
Cheetor was about to reply in defense when they both heard some buzzing sounds and saw Waspinator carrying Scorponoks. Cheetor and Kima looked at each other and quickly started the platform they were on and zoomed out of there.
At the Maximals base
Dinobot was currently working on the controls alone, while the others were busy with storing the weapons. Soren was about to go inside the room again, when a sudden flash from the console blinded them for a minute. When they could see again, before them was none other than Terrasaur looking around confused and mumbling something about a cat and where he was.
"Welcome to enemies arms my former comrade. Allow me to be the first to salute you…DINOBOT MAXIMIZE!" Dinobot told him. Soren was readying herself in case things went south.
"I don't know how you got me here traitor, but prepare t…*gagh*…" Terrasaur started was cut off by Dinobot gagging his throat and lifting him roughly towards his face. A sudden flicker on the console caught Dinobot's optics;
"Wait! An electrical surge, through the computer-grit. A most interesting development, caused by the storm"
He let go off Terrasaur's throat and clammed his claws together, Terrasaur saw what he meant and came to his own conclusions of what had happened just then;
"Oh yeah! So that's how that cat-kit and fleshy got inside the base"
"Perhaps a truce should be in order"
"Yeah, yeah, we can take over the base! Lose these Maximals losers, capture those fleshies and rule with an iron fist" Terrasaur replied raising his fist to Dinobot's and fist-bumped him with his
"Nothing can stop us" he told the Ex-Predacon, who smirked evilly when he agreed with him.
All the while Soren saw the whole thing happening, but from the past she had learned to strike the enemy when they're vulnerable and right now the element of surprise was in her favor. She'd lay low for now.
At the Predacon's base
Both Cheetor and Kima were dodging the missiles and shots from the two Predacons, till Cheetor spotted an opening and flew right at it. They jumped off the platform and crawled as fast as they could out of there, but luck was not at their side the Predacons shot from both sides and they looked a little worried when the missiles and bullets were getting close. Cheetor tapped the side of the vents and it opened giving them the change to escape, whe the explosion happened Cheetor wrapped himself around Kima and covered from the fire heading their way. When it was over he looked behind him for a moment and looked down, Kima was shaking like a leaf. He tried to comfort her;
"Easy Kima, we're safe now" he told her
"That was too close for comfort Cheetor, let's find the exit and get out of here" she whispered
The both of them headed forward hoping to find the front door through the vents, until Cheetor saw the main computer consoles of the ship. He opened the vent and they inspected the room, Cheetor activated the computer and scanned the energon readings from the Predacon's area. One line in particular was going through both the bases underground, getting Kima's attention the both of them got to the conclusion that if any at all damages this vein both bases are history.
Copying the evidence they were about to leave the room when they heard Waspinator and Scorponoks heading their way.
"Don't those two ever give it up?" Kima asked her feline companion and bith began their shooting whilst escaping towards the main command center to deliver the disk through their warp gate.
With Dinobot and Terrasaur
The Predacon had just explained what had happened to his partner, still unaware of the extra company they had.
"So you are saying that the relay posts and the electricity of the storm caused a warp gate between our communication centers?"
"That's all I know, nothing to it!" he told very prideful, unaware he was standing right behind a disposal tunnel.
"Then you are of no use to me anymore" Dinobot said and pushed the Predacon hard against the opening
"Hey, what do you think you're doing? Where partners!" Terrasaur yelled in outrage
"As you are aware of, I am no team player" Dinobot spat back and pushed the disposal button, watching in amusement as the flyer was sucked out of the ship and outside into the air.
Dinobot snorted and was about to move towards the command center with the intention of sending the bomb directly inside their base, when Optimus was coming out of the hall looking worried.
"The relay posts are missing as is Cheetor!" he told the former Predacon worriedly
"So that is what he was up to out there" Dinobot said immediately
"What are you talking about?"
"I…overheard a Predacon discussion through our communications computer, it would seem the furball got out to plant the posts himself when a lighting struck one of them sending him right inside the Predacon's ship" he told the commander who covered his optics with a servo.
"Surely he has already been destroyed by the Predacons" he said dramatically
"NO!" Optimus yelled out in outrage, not wanting to believe what the raptor said to be true.
"But have heart that with the cat's sacrifice we finally have a way of defeating the Predacons" the raptor carried on not faced by the fact that Cheetor was supposedly deactivated.
"How?" Optimus asked, still upset about the whole situation.
"Through the cat's mistake, we can send the bomb into straight inside the Predacon's ship and destroy them once and for all!"
Soren was furious and immediately contacted her sisters about the whole situation, but she was surprised of what Son said through the bond:
"Kima is with Cheetor, she contacted me earlier, and they're on the Predacon's ship right now!"
"W-what the heck was she doing out there in this storm?! And with the cat no less!"
"Calm down, they're alright for now and it's a good thing this happened because she just informed me some very interesting information concerning an Energon-line going underneath both bases. I'm pretty sure you can guess what could happened if either base was destroyed"
"…..HOLY CRAP, DINOBOT JUST CONVINCED OPTIMUS TO SEND THE BOMB THROUGH THE COMMUNICATIONS RELAYS!"
"…..SLAG!"
"He ain't here yet sis"
"Not the time!"
Back with Cheetor and Kima
Both youngsters were trying their best to make their way to the command bridge and the main computer console that send them there in the first place, but Wazpinator and Scorponocks we're hot on their trail. Just then Kima thought of something and turned the hover craft around and went full blast towards the flyer and scorpion con. When they we're inches from each other, she got out her blaster with such speed and hit the both of them in the face-plates. Cheetor looked amazed at how she performed that and the road was clear for them. They got to the communication console and send the disk through, however something else came back and to their horror it was the bomb.
Earlier at the Maximal's base
Optimus and Dinobot we're both at the communications console with the bomb at hand readied to be sent to the Decepticon's base.
"You sure this will work Dinobot" Primal asked the ex-Predacon, while he slapped his tail away from his face with annoyance.
"Positive, if we don't send it now we will never have this change again" Dinobot snarled at him
Optimus sighted and nodded at him; "Proceed!"
With that Dinobot activated the anchors and send the bomb towards the base, while the console frizzed again and out came the disk the youngsters send them.
"It's an information disked, *sniff sniff* with Cheetor's sense on it" he exclaimed and put it inside the computer console;
"Play this now!"
Back at the Predacon's base with Cheetor and Kima
"Awww man they send the bomb here?!" Cheetor panicked
"No shit cool cat, what do we do?" Kima asked just as much in panic
Before Cheetor could reply, they both had a canon stuffed behind their heads, by none other than Terrasaur and Megatron.
"See I told you Megatron. These intruders have set up a bomb to destroy our base" Terrasaur said
"Do not move young ones" Megatron said while he checked the bomb
"There's no time!" Cheetor yelled out
Terrasaur checked the timer and panicked; "He's right the bomb is rigged to blow in thirty seconds"
"I can release the anchors, let me at it!" Cheetor told with confidence, hoping Megatron would give the word fast.
While the countdown was almost at the halve, Megatron nodded at Cheetor for the ok;
"Do it!"
Cheetor pushed Terrasaur out of the way, while the others watched anxiously when he got to work;
"Come on, you know me, old fumble fingers" Cheetor whispered to the bomb, just then the anchors were loose and he threw the bomb towards Terrasaur;
"GO!" he called
Terrasaur caught the bomb and flew as fast as he could out of the ship and threw it in the air, but as he tried to fly away the bomb exploded catching Terrasaur during the impact and making him shriek in pain and surprise. Megatron just watched as one of his soldiers got caught but didn't look concern and focused on the two intruders;
"And now for you two!"
Both Cheetor and Kima happily exclaimed with mischievous glints in their eyes/optics and both said at the same time;
"Sorry bot gotta scat!"
And jumped on their communications relays and disappeared the same way they got in, while Megatron tried to shoot them from escaping but ended up damaging the controls instead and to make their matters worst Terrauasaur entered the ship battered and burned from the explosion;
"Aw slaggg!" he said before passing out
At the Maximal's base with all the Maximal's and Renegades
The main computer showed what was on the disk Cheetor had send them and we're surprised and scared at the sudden realization of their mistake; but also their communications we're on the fritz and sparks we're dancing around making everyone cover their heads and eyes/optics. Suddenly both Kima and Cheetor appeared grinning like idiots.
"Hey everyone what's up?" Cheetor said
"Hiiii mind if we drop in?" Kima asked right after
All the members we're relieved they made it back, when everyone was settled down they explained what had happened out there with the relays. Rhinox was the first to speak and thank them;
"We got your disk, thanks!"
"Yeah you two may have started like studs, but came out smelling like roses" Rattrap said to them giving his own thanks.
"Though the two of you had us worried for a while, next time you decide to go solo please tell us at least" Aurora said with a smirk
"Guess we got lucky out there, but Cheetor sure came through for the both of us" Kima said as she nudged Cheetor.
"I'm just that good" Cheetor blushed at the gesture and looked with kitty eyes at Dinobot, who just grunted and walked away waving him off. Cheetor looked a little hurt at that wondering why he would be disappointed, but Optimus and Son looked at the two and started talking;
"You never needed to prove yourself Cheetor, you've always had my respect" Optimus told the young scout
"You should have told us what you we're up to Kima, or at least have taken Piedro with you" Son said while the parrot was on her shoulder and squawked a little angry at his friend and comrade. Kima looked sorry and offered her shoulder to him, who flew on it and nuzzled her check. Kushi went over to Cheetor and petted his head, to which he purred, Optimus just shook his head and continued;
"Cheetor, Kima though you've both done well today but I still do not approve on how this all started, the next time you two decide to do such a thing I'll have your tail and wrap them around Kima understood?"
"Okay, okay we won't do it again" Kima said, while wiggling her eyebrows at Cheetor and he smirked,
"Until the next time that is" Cheetor finished and they both sprinted away, while the other laughed, even Primal
Later while everyone was asleep
A certain hotheaded Renegade was still up and headed towards Dinobot's quarters and hacked the security on the door, she looked around before she went inside and shut the door behind her. Walking towards the sleeping form of the saurian and bashed him on the head, allowing him to awake with a startle and looked outraged around in his room seeing her in front of him he got up and stomped menacingly on the ground before transforming.
"What in the inferno are you doing here?!" he asked outraged
"What was that between you and Terrasaur when he was inside the ship?" Soren asked him looking mad and a no-nonsense look on her face
Catching him off guard he tried look away, but Soren wasn't having any of it before he knew it she held him firm in her grip and made him look into her eyes, which we're bursting with anger and fire. Though this would make any mech grinch at the sight, he was starts to feel hot with want and became flustered. Either was not noticing it or was ignoring it she continued;
"Don't play dumb with me Dinobot, you always go around talking about honor, but what you could have done today would have destroyed us all and you know it. You who talk of honor and fight fairly, should know that honor is also bound to their comrades no matter the situation, and don't you dare lecture me about this afterwards because I have more honor in me than you could possible hope to imagine. Also I am saying this because in the end it is we, the Maximals and Renegades who will your back in the end, you will never be able to take down Megatron without us all to help you, you are not alone in this we all have a duty now. And another thing if you ever and I mean ever pull such a stunt with any of our comrades again, I will finish you understood?" she ranted to him
But all Dinobot could do was look at her and before either knew it, he closed the gap between n them in an intensive lip-lock and held her firmly in his arms. At first she struggled in his grip and tried to slap him away from her but she finally settled and kissed back. When Dinobot realized what he was doing, he quickly pulled her away looking shocked at his own actions while she looked at him just as surprised. They both looked away, while she left for her room and he just stared at the floor and then at the door she went through.
"Primus, why does she make me feel this way? Why now? Why a human?" Dinobot thought
Soren just entered her room and leaned against the door holding three fingers on her lips;
"What just happened?"
