Chapter 09: You Have Us

*Flash back 2005*

Thalia stood sparring in Nanda Parbat with Nyssa being watched by Alex. Nyssa may have grown up in the League of Assassins, and Thalia a privileged child but Nyssa hadn't been captured as a teenager and tortured. Alex and Thalia's husband had been the ones to bring the young woman into the fold of the League of Assassins.

"Scarlet, that's enough," Alex said looking to Thalia as Nyssa lay on the ground below her. "Scarlet!"

"What?" Thalia hissed turning around to face Alex as Nyssa moved to trip her but before she could Thalia did a flip and landed in front of Alex. "I wasn't a blank slate when you brought me in,"

"No, you were strong," Nyssa said walking up behind her and wrapping an arm around her shoulder. "That's what my brother saw and what Alex saw,"

"And you, what do you see?" Thalia questioned looking between Alex and Nyssa as she spoke.

"I see someone who refuses to give up," Alex said, Thalia looked at Nyssa waiting to see what she would see.

"I see someone who my brother fell for," Nyssa answered, as her brother entered the room and motioned for the two to leave them.

Thalia smiled, elbowing Nyssa to let her go and moving to him and wrapping an arm around him and kissing him.

2002

Thalia was in the hospital after fracturing her wrist during a martial arts lesson, she'd been doing it since the age of ten – a two year break not changing anything. As she was sitting in the emergency room she noticed an eleven year old boy sitting with his mother crying. Thalia walked over to him ignoring the pain in her wrist and crouching down in front of him.

"Hey, what's wrong?" Thalia asked looking between the boy and his mother. "My name's Thalia. What's yours?"

"Roy," Roy sniffled, before looking at Thalia and noticing that she was holding her wrist. "What happened to you?"

"Oh this?" Thalia held her wrist and laughed, it didn't hurt as much as some of what she'd been through. "I do kick boxing, tae kwondo and juju jitsu...today was kick boxing," Thalia shrugged, before she asked him why he was there. "Roy, I'll let you in on a little secret, things are only scary if you let them be,"

"Needles..." Roy mumbled, he knew he was going to be getting one after being cut by a rusty fence. "Rusty fence,"

"You'll get a cool scar from it," Thalia smiled, lifting up the leg of her pants and pointing to scar on the inside of her left leg. "If you ever get scared you can call me," Thalia pulled out a piece of paper and leaning against her knee she scribbled her number down.

Roy looked at his mother who nodded at him, she didn't mind that the young boy had been talking to a stranger as it had seemingly calmed him down.

*end flashback*

Oliver pulled his sister aside both of them watching as Ollie curled up beside Thea, with their younger sibling protectively wrapping her arm around him. Thalia put her head on Oliver's shoulder and smiled at him before she poked him. Each of the vigilante's pulled off their masks, realising that the young boy would be able to keep the secret of who they were.

"I know you were looking for me mom," Ollie said suddenly as he looked across at his mother and uncle. "I saw him," Ollie pointed at Barry after he had taken off his mask.

"Wait you saw me?" Barry questioned, how had the child seen him when he had tried to be as discreet as possible in his search.

"Uh huh, well a red flash...that's why I left my toy behind," Ollie said, Thalia laughed like she had said her son was very observant. "Mom said that she had friends everywhere,"

"You told him that?" Oliver questioned, as Thalia kept her head on his shoulder and looked towards her son.

"Yeah, he's my little man of course I did," Thalia shrugged, what else was she meant to say – the kid was smart. "Ollie, I'm sorry I let your grandfather take you,"

"Mom...I know you didn't have a choice," Ollie looked up at his mother from where he was still curled up next to Thea. "Aunt Nyssa told me,"

"I looked out for him the best I could Thalia," Nyssa told her from where she was sitting in the plane.

"Thank you," Thalia smiled at her, not moving her head from Oliver's shoulder. "Ollie, big Ollie, no questioning my Ollie until we're home,"

Roy looked at Thalia remembering the day that he first met her, he'd only been eleven at the time and scared. Thalia smiled at him much the same as that first meeting years ago. Ollie looked at his mother and that at Roy wondering what they were both thinking, Thea caught the look too and smiled at Ollie kissing the top of his head.

"What are you thinking of Roy?" Thea asked, looking at Roy as she spoke and wanting him beside her but also wanting to be close to Ollie who was between her and Thalia.

"When I first met Thalia...I was eleven years old," Roy replied, taking a breath as he thought about just how scared he'd been that day.

"I'd just turned eighteen it was the day that I broke my wrist," Thalia added, she remembered that day and how scared he'd been and every phone call the eleven year old would make there after. "Roy we need to talk when we get home," Roy nodded he knew that they did he had a decision to make.

"Lia?" Oliver raised his eyebrow looking between Thalia and Roy. "Have you talked to Ray?"

"You mean the man who was meant to be a friend until he put you in danger and Roy in prison? Yeah I'm still not over that," Thalia said, looking to John and Roy who agreed with her while Barry, Nyssa and Thea raised their eyebrows at her. "We also need to talk about your new team,"

"You have to get over it," Oliver said, Thalia simply shook her head.

The rest of the flight back to Los Angeles was quiet, Ollie fell asleep curled up against Thea who had fallen asleep on Roy's shoulder. Thalia and Oliver smiled at the sight of them, Oliver wondering what it would be like if Ollie and William ever met.

Six months later and Oliver got his wish, but not the way that he had hoped. William's mother Samantha Clayton had been killed after Thea, Samantha, William and Team Arrow had been kidnapped by Prometheus and taken to Lian Yu. Prometheus had subsequently destroyed the entire island. Samantha died after running back into the island refusing to leave until William was found. Oliver, Malcolm Meryln, Slade Wilson and Nyssa Al Ghul found Team Arrow and rescued them. Malcolm was killed after saving Thea from being blown up by a landmine. However Thea was put into a coma which was what brought Thalia back to Star City.

Months later, Oliver was having trouble connecting with William so he decided to enlist the help of his sister. Oliver didn't know what to do with William, so Thalia took her Ollie to meet him. Thalia had an idea of how hard it was for the ten year old to lose his mother.

"Hey William, I'm your aunt Thalia and this is your cousin Ollie," Thalia smiled, knocking on the bedroom door with Ollie standing close behind her and sticking his head around beside her.

"Hi," Ollie waved, before looking up at his mother and then glancing behind him at Oliver both who motioned for him to go in.

"Go away," William grumbled, Ollie shook his head and walked over to William standing in front of the television.

"Not going anywhere, come with me," Ollie smiled, he wanted his cousin to not be scared of his father. "My mom and your dad are superheroes...they're both friends with The Flash," Ollie explained, he knew that his mother and uncle weren't ready to tell him about it.

"Ollie?" Thalia raised her eyebrow from the door way as she turned to face Oliver and guided him away from the bedroom before the two were faced with Raisa. "Hi Raisa," Thalia smiled at her.

"Miss Thalia, it has been a while," Raisa smiled at her before giving the younger woman a hug.

"Can you watch the two of them, please?" Thalia questioned, returning the hug before she quickly darted into William's room and hugged Ollie. "Hey kiddo, can you be good for Raisa. I have to run out for a little while,"

"Yes mom," Ollie replied kissing his mothers cheek before she walked out of the room and back to Oliver.

"And Ollie no teaching him to fight!" Thalia laughed, though she knew that her son would do the exact opposite. Ollie had been learning to fight since he was little. "No buts,"

Oliver looked at Thalia, he really was at a loss for what to do. William hated him, he blamed him for the death of his mother. Ollie sat with William and told him that he never got to know his dad as his dad had died before he was born. Ollie told him that he was lucky that he got to meet his.

"You know, I never got to meet my dad," Ollie sat on the floor and looked up at William and motioned for his cousin to join him on the floor. "You're lucky that you have your dad,"

"Why?" William looked at Ollie as he joined him on the floor. He was a little bit curious about what his cousin had to say.

"My dad...he died before I was born. But you know what? I have my mom, our Aunty Thea, your dad and all of their friends," Ollie said looking at him and then at the ground. "My mom always comes home and so does your dad,"

"How are you so sure?" William questioned, he was very curious as to what his cousin who was only slightly older than him had to know.

"Because they're still here," Ollie smiled, that was only thing that he knew for sure.

Meanwhile Oliver and Thalia had gone to the Arrow bunker with Alex, leaving Joshua to stay at Oliver's just in case anything happened. Oliver wanted to know what they could tell him about the FBI Agent that was currently investigating him. Felicity knew that the second the FBI found out that Oliver and Thalia were related that she would be questioned.

"Oliver, why is she here? No offence Thalia," Felicity looked between Oliver and Thalia before her eyes settled on Oliver again.

"Relax Felicity. I can do a few special things, you should know that by now," Thalia smiled before she hugged the younger woman tightly. "Ollie's getting to know William,"

"What about...you know Scarlet you?" Oliver questioned, he was a little concerned over what she would do about her vigilante self.

"Scarlet stays in LA and Central City these days. If you need me in the field, I can do it," Thalia smiled, before she motioned to the Scarlet suit that was standing next to Green Arrow and Speedy. "You kids ever going to introduce me to the newbies?" Thalia said as she heard footsteps entering the bunker.

She'd heard from Felicity who had been talking with Jackson about Rory leaving after his rags no longer worker and Evelyn had turned against them. Quentin, Diggle, Dinah Drake, Rene Ramirez and Curtis Holt, Curtis she already knew from earlier in the year. The others however were new to her.

"So are we still just letting anybody in to the bunker?" Diggle nodded to Thalia who smiled and waved at him.

"Hey Dig, Curtis," Thalia smiled before she made her way over to the salmon ladder and started using it out of habit. "Sorry need to work off some energy,"

"This is my older sister...Thalia Queen or Scarlet," Oliver said motioning to Thalia who was swinging absent-mindedly from the top of the salmon ladder. "Dinah Drake and Rene Ramirez," Oliver pointed to both of them as Thalia flipped off the ladder and landed on her feet.

"Hey...Ollie may I?" Thalia questioned, seeing the very confused looks from Rene and Dinah.

"You will love this," Curtis grinned, he remembered seeing some of the things that Thalia had done the last time that she was in Star City. "Sorry, did I say too much?" Thalia rolled her eyes and grabbed her bow blowing off the dust.

"Not doing Ollie's little ball stunt," Thalia said running a hand over her face and picking up one of the arrows. "Pick a crack any crack in the wall,"

"Say what?" Rene questioned, while Felicity went over to the wall and picked the smallest crack that she could find.

"Okay, that crack it is," Thalia grinned before setting up the bow and arrow closing her eyes whilst aiming before releasing the arrow and hitting the crack. Oliver took the opportunity to attack his sister to show them what else she could do. Thalia flipped Oliver over causing the younger man to grin before they started sparing. "League of Assassins training...plus about twenty years martial arts and archery,"

"What are the League of Assassins?" Dinah questioned, while Rene decided to test Thalia in his own way and was surprised when she caught his dagger.

"Daggers are one of my specialities," Thalia smiled spinning the dagger around in her fingers before handing it back to Rene. "The League of Assassins were a secret organization of highly assassins, people who have loved and lost. Their purpose was to hunt down and kill people deemed a danger to the world," Thalia explained watching as both Rene and Dinah took a step backwards.

"I was a member of the League of Assassins," Oliver said, he knew saying that could possibly endanger them.
