A/N: I am so sorry. I can't believe didn't update this story at all last year! I honestly don't even know what happened. I guess I just wasn't inspired to work on it. Ah well, onto the chapter.

Chapter Six
School

Theresa's father worried about her, not all the time, of course, but sometimes, between phone calls and dealing with various business crises, he worried about how she was doing in school, how things were between Theresa, and her friends, if there were any problems that he should know about.

He did try to keep up to date on what was happening in his daughter's life. He looked at her report cards when she brought them home, at least the ones that didn't end up buried under a pile of paperwork. He made an effort to touch base with her about her friends, when an important phone call didn't interrupt him.

He wanted to be more involved in Theresa's life, but the truth was work kept him very busy. Being a single parent also made things difficult. He had no idea how to talk to Theresa about girl stuff and whenever he tried they both wound up embarrassed.

He often wondered if Theresa might not be suffering from a lack of a female influence in the house. He worried that perhaps she wasn't as feminine as other girls her age were. He knew she liked shopping and clothes, but how many girls were interested in karate? Maybe a lot, he didn't know. He'd meant to go to at least one of her tournaments or classes, but work had always seemed to get in the way. Anyway, who was he to judge? Just because Theresa was more interested in karate than in the dance and gymnastics classes her friends took that didn't make her choice any less valid.

Still, he couldn't help thinking that growing up without a mother must have had some impact on his daughter, even if he was largely unaware of it.

A sudden knock on the front door broke him out of his thoughts and he hurried to answer it. He had no idea who it could be. He didn't have any meetings scheduled for the day and guests rarely dropped by unannounced. He opened the door and didn't recognize the person standing on the other side.

The woman was tall, stern-featured with impeccably styled grey hair.

"Do I know you?" Theresa's father asked uncertainly.

She didn't look familiar, but that didn't mean anything. He met a lot of people and he couldn't possibly remember all of them.

"My name is Mrs. Suez," she answered. "I'm here to speak with you about your daughter, Theresa."

"Please come in," he invited.

Mrs. Suez swept into the house sparing only a quick glance at her surroundings before returning her attention to Theresa's father.

"We can talk in my office," he said.

She nodded and he began leading her down the hallway.

"Can I get you anything to drink?" he offered. "Coffee? Tea?"

"No, thank you," she responded. "I would prefer to conduct our business as quickly as possible."

Theresa's father nodded in understanding, he was a businessman after all. They entered his office and he sat down in the chair behind his desk, gesturing for Mrs. Suez to take the chair opposite him. She had barely settled in before she started talking.

"I am here as a representative of the New Olympia Academy for Young Ladies," she began. "We specialize in educating the daughters of businessmen like you, preparing them for the day when they will take control of their parents' companies."

"And you want me to enroll Theresa in your school," Theresa's father concluded.

"We believe she'll make an excellent addition to our student body," Mrs. Suez confirmed. "She'll also benefit from our outstanding curriculum and dedicated faculty."

"This is a boarding school?"

"It is. Is that a problem?"

"It might be." Theresa's father sighed heavily. "I suggested a boarding school to her once a few years ago and she wasn't exactly thrilled about it. She feels we don't spend enough time together."

"Interesting," Mrs. Suez commented, "because when I spoke to Theresa about the school she seemed quite enthusiastic."

"She did?" Theresa's father asked in evident surprise. "Funny, she never mentioned anything about this to me or maybe she did and I was just too busy to pay attention."

"Then she has your permission to attend?"

"If that's what she wants."

"I'm relieved to hear you say that."

"Why is that?"

"Well, Theresa was so certain you'd agree to this that she's already left with a colleague of mine."

"Oh, I would have liked to say good-bye."

"I understand, but she was so eager to get underway…"

"It's fine. She'll be home for holidays?"

"Whenever possible. Now if you'll excuse me I have other business to attend to."

He looked like he wanted to ask a few more questions, but at that moment his phone rang, effectively distracting him. Mrs. Suez took advantage of his inattention to slip away. By the time he finished his conversation she was already gone.

Hera sighed with relief as she stepped through the portal into Hermes' office.

"How'd it go?" Hermes asked.

"As expected," she responded.

"Six down, one to go."

"Yes and something tells me this last one is going to be interesting."

A/N: Not one of my longer chapters, but it'll do. I decided to use Hera instead of Hermes in this chapter because I thought it made more sense to have a woman invite her to attend a girls' school. I figured the name Mrs. Suez would work for her since Zeus goes by Mr. Suez in the show. I know what you're thinking: This is all very good, but now I'll be waiting another year for the next chapter. Well, the joke's on you because I've already written the next chapter and the epilogue and I'm going to post them right now! I hope you enjoy the rest of this finally completed story.
