Bumblebee and Sari arrive to the base shortly after receiving the call from Optimus. As the cautiously enter the base, both of them are shocked by the state that the base is in. Paint of all colors are splattered all over the walls, the floor, the ceiling, everything had paint on it.
"Wow, What happened here?" asked Sari as she stared around the room in awe.
"I don't know," said Bumblebee as he too looks at the multicolored mess. "You think Bulkhead might have gone a bit carried away on one of his paintings?" Sari asked.
"I doubt it, the last time that happened Ratchet through a fit after Bulkhead tried to repaint the medical bay. Now he can't paint any part of the base, except his berth room, without the team's full agreement." Bee said cringing as he recalling the event and how angry Ratchet had gotten. "No, I would think that it might be the Jet twins or Jazz and Prowl somehow getting into a prank war. Of course neither would really happen seeing as how Jetfire and Jetstorm are too obedient to Sentinel to try and Prowl wouldn't get involved in a prank war." Bumblebee said as he started down the hallway to look for his team or the Elite Guard.
Each room they come across is the same, paint all over with no one inside.
"Great more rooms covered in paint. This will be a nightmare to clean and we still haven't seen anyone yet!" Bee complained.
"I'm more surprised at the amount of paint that was used to do this." said Sari.
Bee let out a short laugh, "I'm not, Bulkhead gets the stuff in drums and he gets them in large quantities. We had to move the extras into a separate storage room when he ran out of space in his room." He paused a moment before saying, "The storage room… That's it!" Bumblebee started running down another hallway telling Sari to follow him.
They come upon the storage room and find both teams outside the room standing on either sides of the open door covered in various colored paint spots. Optimus and Sentinel are arguing about what to do with Jazz and Ratchet acting as mediators when Bulkhead notices Bumblebee and Sari and calls them over.
Seeing his teammate, Optimus addresses the two new additions, "Bumblebee, Sari glad you made it."
"We saw the mess on the way in. What's going on?" asked Bee.
"Sentinel and his team had stowaways on their ship and they managed to find a way into the base. They found Bulkhead's paint stash and have been using it against us." Optimus said as another paint bomb exploded near the door.
Bumblebee looked at his leader and deadpanned, "I can see that." More paint bombs explode closer to the door, "Any reason why, whoever these stowaways are, are attacking us?"
"They started attacking us during an argument that Optimus and Sentinel were having." said Prowl.
"Really?" Sari asked, giving the Prime a displeased look. "You too need some serious counseling."
Everyone, minus the two Primes, agreed.
"So they started flinging paint bombs while Boss-bot and Sentinel were distracted with an unnecessary argument, again." Bumblebee said. "Any chance it was what you were arguing about that set them off?"
Optimus looked guilty, while Sentinel crossed his arms and huffed, neither really answering the question.
Since neither Prime would answer, Ratchet took the initiative and said, "They were arguing about you being on the team."
"Why were you... you know what? It doesn't matter. Right now we need to detain whoever is in there and stop them from redecorating the rest of the base." Bee said as he made a pointed look to his leader and Sentinel.
"Is it me or did it get really quiet in there?" asked Jazz as he inched closer to the door. Everyone leaned closer to the door having also noticed the lack of activity in the room.
"So, what's the plan?" Bulkhead asked, aiming the question to the two Primes.
"Go in and search the room, but be quiet. We want to find them before they notice us, understand?" Optimus said.
Everyone agreed with the order and began to silently storm the room. The room, a storage room dedicated mostly to Bulkhead's painting supplies, including the extra paint drums, was as large as the recreational room, having been a second assembly area while the base had been a functional factory.
The Autobots split up, Sentinel's team taking the left side of the room while the earth bound team searches on the right.
