'Why is it, that when you cram enough food in to yourself with Christmas dinner… you always end up saying you're so full then you start eating again every hour on the hour?'

Caterina mumbled in between taking huge bites out of a turkey and stuffing sandwich she had made not long ago. She munched away on the sandwich, stopping every so often just to look at it then scorn in disgust. She glanced at Delsin sat beside her on the sofa who was quite happy feeding his face. He wasn't bothered that he was still eating, in fact he looked like he was enjoying himself. Caterina on the other hand felt like she was nursing a five month gone food baby. She knew that she would need something for indigestion pretty soon.

'I don't know, I like it though. I get to eat more of your cooking and baking.' Delsin said as he finished off the sandwich he had in his hand then picked up another one off the plate Cat had set down on the coffee table. Next he was eying up the place of homemade sweet mince pies Catarina had made that morning. Delsin had already eaten about seven of them earlier on.

'I know how much you enjoy my cooking, but I hope everyone else did.'

Delsin and Catarina had a bit of a lie in on Christmas morning then they went for their usual walk in the snow. The couple had prepared everything for Christmas dinner the night before so the turkey went in the oven as soon as they got up. It'd take a while for it to cook so they killed some time by taking a leisurely walk before they opened the presents they got each other.

Caterina thought she had outdone herself with the presents she had bought Delsin. She had bought him some new bits and pieces for his camera as well as a new tripod as he spectacularly broke his the week before as he forgot to secure two of the legs properly then tried to catch it as it fell over, only to fall on to it himself which made the legs snap and buckle. She also bought several new pairs of Converse shoes he had been fawning after along with loads of new designer cologne and the latest Sony phone along with a fancy wireless charging plate for it.

They had agreed before Christmas that they would definitely buy each other some art supplies and pyjamas, but with the pyjamas they had to wait till Christmas day to find out eaxactly what they were. Delsin and Cat opened them at the same time; both had opted for onesies for each other. Cat had bought Delsin a Stay Puft marshmallow man onesie and Delsin had bought Cat a Tigger onesie. The pair had put them on instantly and sat for most of the day with them on, they even eat their Christmas dinner at the table with them still on.

Delsin had bought Caterina some lovely thing. He bought her the standard fancy perfume and a nice expensive handbag that she had been eying up along with some DVD boxsets and a pretty silver crucifix necklace. But the last present he handed her to open was nothing like the rest. It was very neatly wrapped and floppy which was weird. Cat thought it was a magazine, maybe with a subscription for the year or something.

'What it is?' Cat asked as she held up the floppy present and stared at it quizzically.

'Well open it and find out.' Delsin told her. He watched as she carefully tore the wrapping paper off.

'This is… a holiday brochure?' Cat questioned as she held it up, turning it over to read the front. It read "Visit England" in big letters right at the top. 'What's this about?'

'I've been err,' Delsin started. 'I've been saving some money up for us to go to England. I haven't booked anything yet but if you really want to go visit home for a while then we have the money to do so. I have enough saved for return flights, a whole month in a nice hotel or several if you want to travel about, car hire some spending money and our Conduit Visas.'

Caterina's eyes were streaming with hot tears and her bottom lip was quivering, then the sniffling started along with the shaky voice.

'Oh Delsin it's… it's… wonderful!' Caterina exclaimed in between her now full on sobs. She was genuinely touched, it really was the most thoughtful present ever especially when she had been missing her home country a lot recently. She reached over and gave Delsin a huge hug and a kiss. He carefully wiped some of the tears from Catarina's cheeks with his thumbs.

'I'm glad.' Delsin smiled and kissed Cat's forehead. She had started to blot round her watery eyes with her sleeve.

'How did you manage to sort out the Conduit Visas though? They're difficult to get at the moment without having to wait for months on end.' Caterina asked as she sniffled a bit.

'Oh, Stacy helped me with the Visas. I asked her if she would be our referee and I got the forms back within weeks instead of months.'

'I guess it's good to know people in high places huh?' Caterina chuckled a bit. The lump had gone in her throat now and she had stopped crying. 'I think you're gonna love my country Delsin.'

'Y'know, I think I will too. The country that birthed my baby-girl, I can't wait to explore it with you.'

Catarina had fixed herself up shortly after her sobbing episode and was busy with Delsin sorting out their Christmas dinner in their daft onesies. They had turkey with all the trimmings; roast potatoes, proper gravy, stuffing, Brussel sprouts, carrots, roast parsnips, sausages wrapped in bacon. If it was associated with a traditional Christmas dinner then it was probably on Cat and Delsin's plates. Cat even made little Yorkshire puddings too. They ate and ate and ate some more before passing out on the sofa, letting their dinner rest for a bit before they went back to eating again. A while after at, the couple then had to get dressed and make themselves presentable for a Christmas get together at the Longhouse where everybody took along food for a huge buffet , which meant Delsin and Cat would most likely end up eating more.

Catarina ended up wearing all black to the Longhouse shindig believing black to be flattering and slimming as her five month food baby had just aged to seven months in about two hours. She had to wonder where Delsin was putting all of his food as he just carried on eating regardless and didn't seem bothered by feeling full or a bit ill from eating so much food. It was another affair where everyone brought something and laid it all out on a huge buffet table for everyone to go and help themselves.

Delsin and Cat didn't stay for long, but it was nice to catch up with everyone and have a few festive drinks. Betty was sat with the couple for a little while, her present to them was a massive homemade fruit Christmas cake loaded with brandy and marzipan. Caterina had thought about making one, then buying one but she never got round to it. Betty knew the couple liked Christmas cake so she made them one. Delsin and Cat however bought Betty a set of beautiful hand blown glass paperweights for her office. Betty insisted that they didn't need to get her anything but neither Cat or Delsin were having any of it.

They a little while later after having seen and spoken to everyone; so they made their way home. Both Cat and Delsin were getting pretty tired and changed back in to their onesies as soon as they got home. The couple made themselves comfy on the sofa watching TV with yet more food; leftovers from earlier on.
