TWEWY: A Fall Into Honor:
This story is about how Joshua became the Composer. The story is from Joshua's point of view, and others if the story needs to. This is a prequel of the game The World Ends With You. TWEWY is made by Square Enix. This is a FAN FICTION and not the real prequel. Enjoy.
I decided that the two boss Noise for the mission will get their own chapters for their battles. You'll expect the next Noise in the next chapter, I promise =3
Week 1, day 5:
Chapter 21: Bird of Ray:
Joshua only looked at each nearby building before he mused "Which building?"
Ayumu pointed almost in the direction of all of them "Over way."
'Ayumu! Which one?' there was no quell of understanding Ayumu, always the one this week to speak oddly. All because of Joshua's entry fee, not allowing him to speak the way normal people do.
Again the petite blond pointed towards all of them "Over way, Josh. There's way."
Joshua let out a annoyed sigh before he mused "Fine. But you need to warn me when we get to the building with the Noise." he still felt wary and confused for what Ayumu meant.
They both started out in an amble across the area, the search shouldn't take too long but they had plenty of time to spare. 50 minutes to be exact.
Once and awhile Ayumu would look at him then glance around himself.
But Joshua stayed silent.
He knew that the Reaper, Megumi, told him that the only way to get the entry fees back was to win the Reaper's Game.
But how?
Before Joshua could move another step Ayumu gently grabbed his sleeve to tug a little, "Here."
"Huh?" the ashen haired boy turned to see a alleyway that emitted a golden orangish eerie luminosity within, that sparked Joshua's interest in a blink of a eye, 'So, Ayumu, you really never meant that the Noise was in the buildings. It is between them, eh?'
"Aye." said Ayumu blankly as he now let go of Joshua's sleeve as he started to go forward, quickly Joshua darted forward and blocked him. The younger half brother looked at him blankly as Joshua spoke "I'll lead the way, I don't want this to be a ambush. You could get erased."
When Ayumu said nothing Joshua went on "And if there is a ambush, you'll be the one to get out of there first. Hear me?"
A long pause was made before Ayumu nodded.
'I would take erasure for you... But this time for a reason, to help you.' the ashen haired boy made sure Ayumu was ready before he advanced.
Cautiously Joshua walked first into the alleyway, a sick feeling of recollection hit him. His death shot through his vision, as he stepped through slimy puddles and brushed past between the narrow alleyway of the two grimy walls.
Ayumu on the ground with his blood dappled and mottled on his clothes, hair, and body stained by the blood that oozed and collected in a puddle or sprayed from the gunshot to the head.
Then Joshua, receiving the same fate.
Often he shook his foot in spite towards the slime that caught on, and he was aware that Ayumu was behind him the whole time.
Closer through the alleyway the eerie light grew less fainter but brighter, almost as though they were going towards the sun after clouds would disperse. And a feeling of disquiet crept into the lavender-eyed boy's mind.
But soon, Joshua heard a sharp caw ring out and the ground vibrated a bit.
"Noise." the comment from Ayumu made Joshua know that this was the Noise from the mission.
So he went slower and his consciousness of his environs shot up.
Just as the light was almost blinding, Joshua moved back bumping into Ayumu a bit, in contact Ayumu scuffled a bit back.
Ahead of him he saw from the safety of the wall what seemed to be a burly eagle, resting on a lamppost in a half clearing and half dead end.
Light surrounded its body resembling the sun's rays.
It had the spiky plumes of gold, fire, and amber on its body, with the addiction of white and brown speckles over its chest and face. The eyes of this eagle were a shade of brilliant emerald with tints of dark blue. Not only did the Noise look like a eagle, it had also had some thorns growing from its red tattooed talons and beak, and a horn on either side of its neck.
Right away Ayumu whispered "Mighty, typically Positive."
Joshua looked behind at his half brother in confusion "Positive? What does that mean, Ayumu?"
His half brother played with his long pale grey sleeves for a bit "Means close fight."
'Why do I even ask?' he sighed before looking at the Eagle Noise again, it was preening its feathers a bit unaware of the two Players that hid from sight. Maybe now would be the best time to attack.
Silently Joshua pulled Ayumu's hand away from playing with his sleeves and thought 'Time for battle Ayumu.'
Both of them ran out from the alleyway and it alerted the Eagle Noise straightaway, it let out a long startled squawk as it flapped its wings to push itself up. Powerful gusts made Joshua try to hold his ground, his eyes watered as he stood there on the verge of being flung into the air.
A blinding light filled Joshua's vision, he knew now that the Noise and them were in the area for battle now.
As soon as the Eagle Noise was hovering in the air it right away dove at them in a spin.
The first thing Joshua did was a long sidestep in a hop as the Noise missed him, he narrowed his eyes as he growled "Too close for comfort."
He focused his energy into his pins and the Psyche of the Transflaration Pin came, cold and warm blue fire sparked into his hands and he threw it up into the air. As he levitated it with his psychic powers, the Noise went soaring back at him with its talons outstretched.
Before Joshua could get out of the way, Ayumu darted forward and made a warp of the area, his hands emitted the color of his aura as he sent a warp of the area in the form of a twister.
It hit the Noise but it seemed not fazed by it, except it only winced slightly.
By now Joshua had gotten out of the way and watched in horror as the Noise rammed into Ayumu sending him flying, anger rose in Joshua as he clenched his hands, compressing the fire making it grow hot and become ember and amber colored.
He scattered the fire at the Noise making it squawk in pain when its feathers caught on fire.
The older brother ran past the Noise to where his brother lay on his side, Joshua knelt down beside him to discover in dismay that Ayumu's chest was faded a bit.
Ayumu was trying to get up and Joshua grasped his hand, "Don't push yourself, you'll get hurt more Ayumu."
In turn his brother gave him a absent stare.
When a sharp squawk filled the air Joshua turned around only to see that the Noise was soaring at them, quickly the Psyche of his Breezifreeze Pin was activated and a shield of hail surrounded them.
The Noise was bounced back as it cried out in pain.
Joshua made sure Ayumu could stand before he psychically sent the rest of the hail at it like a hailstorm.
The flurry of hail made it thrash around as Joshua let go of Ayumu, the boy only watched sightless as he spoke "Heavy attack, good. Effective and fluent."
'Ayumu… Why?' thought Joshua before he felt pain pierce into his chest, he crashed into the ground a few seconds later and he struggled to get up. But again he was sent flying only to hit the wall of the alleyway.
He let out a choked cry of pain as he fell off the wall and landed roughly onto the hard ground.
Pain engulfed him as he noticed that the Noise was ready to attack again, he tried to move but he ended up clawing at the ground. As soon as it nearly was ready to flay his face, Ayumu stepped in front of him and a golden yellow dome surrounded them both.
The force field kept the Noise from landing any hits and Joshua managed to get up stiffly, "Thanks Ayumu…"
At that moment Joshua was amazed that Ayumu could make a forcefield, maybe Ayumu grew stronger from all the fights that he was able to use this skill as apart of his psychic powers.
"Can't…" Joshua winced from how hoarse and strained Ayumu's voice was, even though he had no emotions now Joshua guessed that never meant that he couldn't speak anything from exhaustion (if it was a emotion).
The force field shattered as though it was glass, then right away Noise head-butted and hooked them both up in the air by the two horns on its neck. Then it threw them backwards with a flick of its head.
Joshua saw Ayumu falling to the ground at a fast speed so he made himself drop faster enough so he could reach Ayumu and hug him. They crashed and only Joshua took the landing the hardest.
As he let out a choked cry of pain again Ayumu wiggled out of his hold and looked at him, the blind boy was panting "Couldn't, hold, Josh."
"Does that mean you can feel exhausted Ayumu?" asked Joshua with astonishment as he sat up painfully, Ayumu gave a nod of agreement, "Not emotion."
'So Ayumu can feel exhaustion…' the thought seemed like hope and sunshine to Joshua as his eyes sparkled a bit from happiness.
Suddenly Ayumu sent a couple of warped golden yellow twisters towards the Eagle Noise that was coming straight for them, Joshua pulled Ayumu down forcefully and the Noise flew over them. He got up even though he felt the sting of pain, but that didn't matter.
Ayumu could feel exhaustion, which seemed to be the only thing that Ayumu could display other than emotion. Oddly it made Joshua happy.
Adrenaline scaled in Joshua as he stood in his battle stance, he felt his energy go through his veins to activate his Pin's Psyche. This time he used his new Pin, that he now named the Windy Whirl Pin.
As a gust of wind shot through his hands, a wave of wind followed and moved like it was a wave of water from the ocean.
Joshua remembered that his father, Hinata and Sanae once visited the ocean by a beach. And the second time Hinata went he brought Joshua and his mother Mizuki.
He shook out the happy memory from his mind as he sent more rolling waves of wind at the Noise, each time it hit the Noise was sent backwards similar to the effect of ocean waves hitting you.
Just as the final wave of wind hit, Joshua used his Transflaration Pin again and threw up the blue fire into the air to levitate them again.
He compressed them before he sent them scattering in a flurry at the Noise, the Noise seemed to know what attack this was so it whipped around the flames while twisting gracefully.
It did a cartwheel in the air before it swiftly soared at them in blinding speed.
Joshua met it head on and he used his Breezifreeze Pin to block its attacks by assisting the Pin's Psyche with his psychic powers, the shield of hail followed him for that so he kept at it boldly.
When his Breezifreeze Pin's Psyche stopped abrupt the Noise jabbed forward its thorned talon at him and he let out a cry of surprise and agony.
Again it struck at him and Joshua did his best in rolling away while spiting the cold, hard, grimy, and slimy ground with the fierce passion it deserved.
He spat out dirt when the Noise was redirected to Ayumu and he cried out "This fowl is cooked! And burned!"
With the Transflaration Pin he compressed the fire to the familiar ember and amber shade, then once again he scattered it at the Noise in a flurry. Just as Ayumu used a warp of the area, the Noise was hit by Joshua's surprise attack.
It fell and hit the ground, sprawled out in a daze as it weakly shrieked out in pain.
"Noise to erasure, finish now." called Ayumu calmly as he backed up while gazing blindly at Joshua, with that Joshua nodded.
He let in a deep lax breath before he summoned the rest of his energy for the Psyche of his Star Blight Pin; he liked this Pin a lot strangely. And it was his strongest Pin by far from his other ones.
As a surge of energy filled into the Pin, Joshua let the energy manifest into a surge of brilliant beam of sparks that showered down onto it. The blinding light surrounded and shot down on it as it let out a shriek.
Joshua saw the faint outline of it before it vanished.
Then another flash of blinding light filled his vision and the two half brothers found themselves back where the Noise and they were before they fought it.
Ayumu panted a bit again, "Noise, gone."
But Joshua didn't feel a smudge of exhaustion.
'Why do I feel like that battle was too... easy?' it was true, from yesterday and this battle they just had. Joshua felt as though the battle was too quick and informal for him.
But he smirked as he muttered to himself "Heh, why am I worrying about that. It was fun."
He looked at his blood red timer to see that they had 40 minutes left.
Still, he felt that the battle was too easy.
Or was he too strong?
To be continued…
Hope you enjoyed the chapter…
