TWEWY: A Fall Into Honor:

This story is about how Joshua became the Composer. The story is from Joshua's point of view, and others if the story needs to. This is a prequel of the game The World Ends With You. TWEWY is made by Square Enix. This is a FAN FICTION and not the real prequel. Enjoy.

Please forgive me for the long wait everyone; I was quite busy all month so I haven't had the time to write this chapter. I hope that I can get back into the characters' minds and reactions well again =3

Week 1, day 6:

Chapter 25: Camaraderie Works, Deal With It:

About 5 minutes passed before they finished the Noise they were instructed to defeat.

Essentially Joshua had been quite a powerhouse for the fight while Rei continued to fight with her dandy and hard clipboard. They weren't restricted in anyway so Joshua felt that without Ayumu on his side for now, he could survive this week without him shadowing his every move.

A sickening sinking feeling drowned his heart and his mind, 'Ayumu Ki, my half brother… What should I do with you? I cannot say for the least, but I am thwarted with how you are performing.' he cupped his chin with one of his fair skinned hands and scowled 'No! What am I trying to muse?! My half brother cannot drag remorse into me; it makes no sense at all. Why…'

He shook his head and pondered on as his temporary ashen haired partner watched him with a keen eye, 'I don't want to fathom him! People disgust me. I cannot allow them to corrupt me. Yet, my half brother tries so hard to take me down. Even as he has no emotions…'

The next second he stopped, if he went on thinking this he would draw back the rage he felt. Right now he didn't feel ready for that.

Joshua straightened as he stood up tall eyeing the rancor Reaper curiously "Now explain my dear Reaper, what did you say before? Would you comply to us?" he sweetened his speech near the end to tease the Reaper who's barely seen dark brown hair shifted over his eye a bit.

"Feh," the Reaper snorted and lifted his head high snapping, "fade away."

Rei's bright brown eyes glinted as she hopped right next to him and leaned her arm on his shoulder; she sighed with a sly tone piercing through it "Oh geez… Won't you be a dear humane sir, it's kinda rude for you to bark at us."

The Reaper let out a retort "Bolt it nymphs, get away from me, and my Wall!"

Rei huffed a bit before she piped, "Well, sorry. But how about we forget that and you let us pass."

The Reaper gave her a glare and his amber eyes seemed to glow "Leave."

Joshua's lavender eyes gleamed when he mused politely "Thank you. We really need to get moving or we'll be late for our mission." after he said that he added "Take care Reaper R."

As soon as he said that the Reaper took out his Keypin and opened up the Wall, the sound of clicking as though someone was unlocking a door sounded. The ashen blond waited a minute with his ashen haired ally before they strode into 104 Building's district.

Joshua slowly went in with his stroll while Rei ran ahead of them, Joshua pondered about what Reaper R meant (means rancor Reaper for short, =3) about his existence.

He felt a wave of exhaustion hit him so he halted "Rei. I need a break."

The lady sporting the red attire stopped and gave him an odd look as she slyly remarked "Oh? So soon? My my Aleck, you sure aren't a jock are you?"

With another giggle she jogged over as her red velvet jacket's cape part flew behind her like a flag, once she joined him she took out her clipboard and began to furiously scribble something with her scarlet pen "Now then… With us resting why don't you tell me a bit about yourself, partner…"

'She sure is sly and keen.' with a little giggle he spoke in a sly tone as well "Why do you ask? Surely there are things you rather do than interviewing me?"

The lanky lady paused in her writing and cocked her head to one side smirking, "Hmm… To tell you the truth yes." she raised her hand up playfully as she spun her pen around with her fingers "But no. I need to figure out something first, how close were you and Ayumu, Joshua?"

"Close enough to be falsely seen as not being half brothers." replied Joshua smirking a bit, he pushed his scraggly bangs from his face as he added, "Like brothers born from the same parents, for say."

He blinked as he took out his orange cellphone "You must feel the same, for Izo."

Naturally she nodded as she replied with amusement along with a slight hint of annoyance "Yep. Like I said, I'm Izo's foster sister. Since I've always been older than him, he's always tried to be smarter than me." suddenly she finished in a exasperated tone and threw up her hands almost shrugging "I hate that, especially with him being so cold and acting like he can spit fire at you."

"Yet he emits cold air, surprisingly." remarked Joshua laughing a little as he checked his phone's memes.

For awhile they laughed over that joke.

"Exactly!" she said loudly as Joshua noticed her pen and clipboard was now gone, "He's always been distant as well."

Before he could say anything else she somehow managed to snake around him and steal his phone, he yelped with exasperation as she noted in bewilderment "Ah, you listen to violin music. What are you, a classical freak?"

"My mom played classical music! The violin was her specialty. Give it back please Rei." growled Joshua as he tried to snatch it from her but she raised her hand up above her head, she giggled shrewdly "Um, no… You're mom was a musician? Whoa, kudos to you Aleck, I wish my parents played music!"

Joshua scowled at her as she waved her arm to try to avoid his own that tried to snatch back his cellphone "Really? Would you kindly give it back, please?"

Rei waited a moment before she slapped it into one of his hands, "Fine. Since you were polite enough to say the magic word."

Once Joshua put it away she giggled "Okay! Lets go, Aleck."

Seeing the time they had wasted, Joshua silently agreed with a nod of his head.

Both of them ambled through the district when a thought occurred to him, "Rei." she spun around to face him with her gleaming brown eyes "How did you save me on day 5? I want to know."

For a moment this caused Rei to go into a thinking mode as she took out her clipboard and tapped on it with her crimson pen, "Well… You see…"

Week 1, day 5:

Rei groaned as she captured her foster brother Izo in a headlock, 'Stop trying to say poems Izo! You're driving me off the skyscrapers, little fosbro!'

Her dark blue haired foster brother's maroon eyes darkened as he adjusted his small oval glasses 'Impede labeling me by those atrocious lexes, tyke. I wish you could go down and bespatter athwart the earth by that amiable demise.' the air around them froze and started to make Rei's fingers go numb 'Let go, tyke. Or your little fingers will freeze initially.'

'Geez!' she did as Izo said and she moved her fingers back and forth until they moved fluently and normally, 'You're such a jerk!'

Izo let the cold air disappear, it was odd that this happened to be a part of him.

'Hoard the punitive annotations.' retorted Izo coldly before pushing his long fringe of his bangs out of his concealed right eye's vision gracefully.

Right away the ashen haired lady crossed her arms and smirked 'You have such gruesome snaps, fosbro.'

Just as Izo was about to protest she felt like someone was watching them, quickly she covered her foster brother's mouth muffling his words to simple inaudible mumbles as she saw the blond haired half brother of Joshua, Ayumu. He stood there with his normal emotionless face turned towards them as he stood a few feet from them, his pale grey eyes that Rei called them as pewter blinked slowly as he quietly said something in a monotone.

Shaking her head she pulled Izo with her in a headlock again despite him growing furious and wandered up to the blind half brother to see why he was here 'Hey Blindy! Watcha doing here?'

'Josh.' was his odd emotionless reply as he blinked slowly.

Rei raised her now furrowed ashen eyebrows as she cocked her head to one side 'Ah, huh? Say again.'

'Mfh!' mumbled Izo thickly muffled by Rei's hand, 'Myfh! MFFH!'

She knew he wouldn't last long without talking; she needed her fosbro in solving this mystery of the lone walking younger half brother's reason of being here. When she let go of his face he started to spit out saliva and snapped coldly through chokes, 'I hate… you! Imbecile!'

Right away she pushed him down easily to the ground and looked at Ayumu who blinked again and spoke 'Josh.'

'Uh huh... Aleck huh...?' said Rei in confusion as she looked at Izo who bit his lip and scowled at her immediately after he got up tautly, 'I need help understanding Blindy, Izo.'

Izo adjusted his small oval glasses again as he sighed 'The fight of delight, seems to drag into a rag. The simple minded have seen, not at all the wean.' for a few moments he was silent in his anger before he coldly snapped 'Feh! Alright, you imbecile.'

'I'm not a-' protested Rei before Izo cut her off fiercely 'Enough! Let Blindy explain the matter or you'll never see what is wrong and what we need to see.'

He walked up to Ayumu and put one of his boney hands on his shoulder harshly and grabbed onto it firmly 'Blind brat, what is it?' it seemed to Rei he wouldn't dare let go of the petite blond's shoulder even if Ayumu whined or pleaded.

Ayumu blinked at her little fosbro as he replied calmly 'Josh… Something bad, Josh feel, need us.' he tipped his head up to look sightlessly into Izo's maroon eyes that coldly returned the gaze 'Josh need help, see come now. Help, Josh, help. Bad happening.'

Rei took out her clipboard and tapped on it with her pen after furiously scribbing something through three strokes of her crimson pen, 'Oh boy, its about Aleck-'

'Stop talking tyke,' warned Izo as he seemed to stare into Ayumu's eyes as through he was searching for something, 'From what the blind brat said, I can derive generally with this philosophy by how sundry spells he said "bad" and "help"… We need to haste to where he is, proximately.'

With a sigh she rolled her eyes 'Fine. Okeydokey, fosbro!'

Izo let out a groan and shook his head in ire.

Rei went over and pried Izo's hand off of Ayumu's shoulder before she piped 'Lead the way Blindy, err… Ayumu.'

Ayumu did a slow nod before he started to slowly lead them ''Kay.' as his sleeves and golden tipped hair ruffled from the wind, Rei closely followed while Izo just coldly kept his glower as he shadowed their youngest ally.

The Scramble Crossing today looked quite busy to Rei, she wished to know why and find out the reason for this passionately. She hated not knowing what trends she missed and she wanted the details so badly.

Enough to bite her nails.

As Ayumu kept walking he stopped as soon as Rei heard a odd sound that was so familiar, the noise of glass and ice breaking at the same time distorted and dreadful. She widened her bright brown eyes as she soon recognized what it was; Noise.

She bit her lip hard and saw Izo's eyes harden, "Both of us know what it is. We need to hurry to where Aleck, Joshua, no… Yoshiya is. PRONTO.'

Gathering up her common sense and wits she had, she darted past everyone as Izo yelled behind her 'Come back you tyke! Where are you going?'

'To find Aleck!' she shrilled on the top of her lungs.

Her normally quiet movement turned heavy and loud as she pushed herself to run as fast as she could, her heart loudly beated as she searched for her sly ally. Aleck was as sly as her, they matched up quite well almost like they were siblings themselves.

"I'll never replace Izo though, he's my fosbro!' she thought with a smirk, her face screwed up with determination and dismay and her smirk flipped upside down into a heart sunk frown "What am I thinking, I need to find Yoshiya!"

After a few seconds she halted abrupt almost falling flat on her face, but her face expressed the utter terror that petrified her to the spot.

There stood Yoshiya, petting the yellow Noise symbol as though it was a pet, giggling insanely and broken 'How nice… are you…'

Two other red Noise symbols swam around him as though he was honey and they were bears.

She gawked as all the reason in the world was thrown and shattered upon her face, he wasn't acting normal.

Izo and Ayumu appeared beside her; Izo flanking her right, Ayumu flanking her left.

Izo blinked as his eyes grew hard and dark as he muttered in a snarl 'What is that imbecile doing?! He's gone mad!'

'You aren't so bad…' went on Yoshiya brokenly.

She had to agree numbly, 'Oh my god.'

'when I'm not risking my life…'

Ayumi watched calmly as he spoke in monotone 'Josh… Bad happening. Stop now, help now. Bad happening to Josh…'

'with clashing with you… Hehehe…' Rei couldn't stand it no longer, she let out a enraged cry as she sprinted towards him "NO!' as she came closer and closer light began to trap him and she had to let out the loudest scream she could ever utter 'YOSHIYA KIRYU!'

Just as she got to where her sly ally was, he was gone.

Along with the Noise symbols.

'No…' she howled out and slammed her fists into the hard pavement in distraught, 'He's such a complete twit! A complete utter TWIT!'

Izo looked around coldly and growled cynically 'Phenomenal! Promptly we essentially need to erase Blindy to save the Reapers the occupation of it.'

Ayumu upon hearing that looked at him with his weird blind pewter eyes ''Kay.'

Her fosbro right away grabbed his shoulders and shook Ayumu wildly 'I didn't mean it, blind brat. Do you really want to be erased?'

The petite blond grew silent before he replied 'Not matter.'

Rei slowly got up and looked at the sky, 'We need to get Aleck back.' she narrowed her eyes as she spat 'Because he's the biggest twit that I've ever met! I want to personally beat the logic into him so he could grow a new and better brain.'

'Easier said than done,' retorted Izo as he kept clutching onto Ayumu hard and tightened his hold, 'how do we seam to the mêlée of Noise if we didn't at the activation?' he went on aloof as ever 'Aleck is appealingly ample screwed for his fortune, so we ought enhance to bargain a new partner for that blind brat.'

"How dare he say that!" right away Rei walked up to him and slapped him hard, his glasses fell off his face and surprisingly weren't broken, 'How brutal are you, Izo Shuito?! We have to find a way; we have to, or else! Do you understand me! He's our friend!'

Izo retrieved his small oval glasses and put them back on 'You don't comprehend, do you Rei Shuito?' he coldly glared at her as he disdainfully chuckled 'Feh, do you reflect he's what you grossly call a 'mate'? A 'friend'? No way is there a purpose for us to overhaul for the feeble, the whelps. I certainly not ever esteemed vis-à-vis friends, nor about you being nurtured laterally side with me. I hate the world, I cannot bring myself to reliance it, and I'm sickened that you would call me a brother even though we are not kin. I hate you. I hate people.'

"How dare he…" she was about to slap the living existence out of him when Ayumu called calmly 'Rei. Izo. Light.'

Her dark blue haired fosbro sighed and walked over to Ayumu as he mused coldly 'Ah, so there is a light.'

Rei was confused so she joined them to see a cobalt shimmer of light that formed a archway like it was a doorway, suddenly a woman's voice rang out in her ears.

'Seize this; thou must haste to seek thy friend. Save him whilst you can.'

'Who are you!?' screamed Rei as she narrowed her eyes at the cobalt light archway.

'Thou must bid me, a friend. If not for this boy who entitled for assistance, I wouldn't partake to identify of this misfortune.'

Ayumu nodded, 'Help Josh?'

'Yes.'

Rei felt uneasiness grip at her body, 'No way! This is so not happening,' she slyly smirked as she asked 'Do you think we should listen to a voice? Who we don't know?'

'I agree with Rei,' said Izo coldly and shook his head, 'for once... How can we know if this is a trap or not?'

"Finally he listens to me," thought Rei happily.

Before they could deny this mystery woman from who knows where, she saw Ayumu walk through the archway and disappear, she cried out in alarm 'Ayumu!'

'That little brat… Feh, we have veto select.' growled Izo and he ran into the archway portal along with Rei who didn't want to leave the younger half brother to fade into erasure.

She couldn't allow that for Yoshiya.

Once they were transported, Rei caught sight of Ayumu dashing towards some Noise that were clustered around Yoshiya's already almost gone, faded, and erased body, 'Shoot this! We have to hurry.'

Izo already had taken control of the Thrash Mink Noise, he was moving his fingers to rein the strings to make the Noise attack its fellow Noise. The controlled Thrash Mink Noise kept spinning around and hitting the Gabba Bat Noise, the red Bat Noise wasn't really getting away so easily and was erased in a matter of seconds.

That's when Izo tightened the strings to rearrange them so that he had all the strings around the Noise's neck to suffocate it, and then destroyed it when it lost all of its oxygen.

He frowned more and went on to another Noise.

Rei charged up to the green fox Noise with the yellow/ green tattoed tails, Ayumu seemed to be ready to fight it when Rei hooked onto his shoulder and forced him back 'I'll handle this foxy, Ayumu. Help Izo, those jellyfishies are not small fries for long.'

''Kay, Rei.' replied Ayumu calmly and he turned around to do as Rei commanded.

"When does he ever deny what people say, its almost as though he's a chest piece who needs directions from the chess players. I feel bad for him." she scowled as soon as the Fox Noise teleported a few feet away, she let out a annoyed snarl and ran after the Noise 'Get back here!' Once she got to it she bashed her clipboard into the Noise before it teleported again, Rei groaned in annoyance and went on chasing after it, 'Coward!'

She saw for a split second that Ayumu was using his psychic powers to halt the now multiplied three blue jellyfish Noise from cloning itself, as they were surrounded by the golden yellow aura and frozen just as Izo lashed out at them with his clear threads like they were skinny invisible whips.

She could barely see her partner; it was normal truthfully.

Again the Fox Noise disappeared by teleporting, but this time it reappeared right beside Yoshiya's unconscious body that was nearly gone.

'Keep away from Aleck!' she shouted as she charged at it, as she grew closer she scribbled on her clipboard to summon a thundercloud. As the cloud materialized above a bolt of dazzling lightning hit the Fox Noise and it yelped, its fur bristled as it growled glaring at its target still, Yoshiya.

Rei got to it and slammed her clipboard hard into its tapered head's skull, it was launched back from the hit and Rei scooped what was left of Yoshiya's body up under her arm. She ran out of the way of the thundercloud's lightning and set her scraggly ashen blond haired ally's body down, and made her post right where he lay to stay where he was to protect him.

"Aleck owes me." she thought with a smirk, "I'll never let him forget that."

When the Fox Noise charged at her to get Yoshiya's body, it tripped suddenly and fell roughly onto its long snout. Izo tore his sting back by tugging in one swift motion of his hand hard, he frowned as he growled 'Animals are dumb, I hate them.'

He twirled his strings as they swirled like it was a sideways twister, then he jerked himself back then forward sending the strings straight for the Noise. All of the almost invisible strings latched onto the limbs of the Fox Noise, causing it to be stuck laying sprawled while snarling at him.

Ayumu appeared parallel to him from the other side of the Noise, he closed his eyes as his hands glowed golden yellow and slightly his eyelids as well when twisters formed next to him before he launched them at the Noise.

It was hit numerous times as it struggled and became more tangled by Izo's strings.

They had it trapped, and Rei smirked as she left Yoshiya knowing he was safe. She raised her clipboard high above her head before slamming it down fluently and hard down onto the Noise's body. Once the attack hit, the Noise froze and began to glow.

For a few seconds it flared with lights before it exploded into light particles and faded away into erasure.

Rei's heart leapt at their victory and she raised her hand up that had the clipboard the highest she could while crying 'Yes! Victory!' she thought it was a cool victory pose like what those video game characters did in RPGs she played when they won a battle.

Right away Izo snarled 'Imbecile, you're such a tyke.'

She huffed before she chirped slyly 'Aw man, you're such a killjoy Izo. Slack a little for once!'

That was when they were transported out of the fighting area by a brilliant flurry of light, the next second they were back in the Scramble Crossing thankfully.

Rei loved that battle, it was fun.

Oddly.

'Aleck,' she broadened her bright brown eyes and rushed over to their ally who still laid unconscious and fading, Izo was kneeling right next to him as he snarled frostily 'I don't ruminate that he'll make it. The demise of erasure is absolute.'

Hotly she slapped him knocking him over onto his back and she pressed her ear to Yoshiya's chest to hear his heart, she heard a soft and shallow beat. Mortified she gasped and readied herself to save him, 'He needs CPR, Izo!'

Izo right away recovered to shove her away from him, 'Such a imbecile, there's no condition that a dead person could be resuscitated from erasure with mouth to mouth. We don't want to poison him. Practice what's left of your hitherto putrefying brain!'

She huffed hot air before she folded her arms across her chest, 'It could work.'

Suddenly white light particles began to surround the older half brother's body, his pained looking face was oblivious to what was happening to the UG and himself.

Ayumu stood distanced from Yoshiya, he didn't say anything and this casued Rei to worry, "Does he even care about his half brother fading from existence forever!? He's so coldhearted!"

Rei took a deep breath in as her ashen bangs slightly fell over her face, she knelt down beside Yoshiya with her face near his own. With a deep gulp of air she shrieked 'Joshua! Don't go towards the light!'

Izo gave her a queer and aloof look 'Really…'

'What?' gasped Rei as she glared into Izo's maroon eyes, 'You need to say that so people don't go to the spirit world.'

Her fosbro shook his head with his visable eye closed, he sighed for a few seconds before he growled 'We're dead, remember?'

'Oh?' she said aloud blushing, she hung her head and sighed 'Ah…'

How dumb of her.

For a few seconds she was starting to grow distressed by how fast his body was fading, summoning the last of what she had to say she screamed 'Don't fall into the darkness!'

She heard a heavy sigh from Izo as he shook his head, then he rolled his eyes tipping his head up as he exclaimed 'Mate, you inspire me. Despite being so foolish at times, you are sly and strong. Stay with us!'

Rei caught a bit of passion in his voice, this warmed her heart, "Oh Izo… You must care about Yoshiya as your own friend, don't deny it. Hehehe…"

It seemed Izo was angered by how she grinned at him happily, he snorted and looked away as he snarled 'Stop pretending that I am soft! I can see it in your eyes, Rei.' she felt that it was true despite his rudeness because it felt as though her eyes were gleaming so much that she could use it for light to the way for boats as a lighthouse.

Suddenly she heard Ayumu quietly approach, he sat down beside his half brother and spoke calmly 'Josh…'

Then he stood up and backed away from his older half brother's body.

Rei felt a surge of anger, 'That's it?! All you can say is 'Josh…'?! Do you even care about him?'

Ayumu stayed silent and ignored her question rudely.

At the corner of her eyes she saw the light particles brighten so much that her eyes hurt, she shut them tightly as she shrieked in terror 'Aleck! Yoshiya! Joshua!'

She felt a tear leak from her eye and roll down to hit Yoshiya's face, suddenly the light disappeared and Rei forced her eyes open. The parts of Yoshiya's body that were fading slowly returned, she gaped her mouth between pure happiness and pure sadness as more tears rushed down.

Quickly she wiped them away with the sleeves of her red velvet jacket that stuck to her body tightly, she couldn't let him see that she was crying. That would suck so much right now.

Suddenly his beautiful lavender eyes snapped open and he jerked up in a half laying and sitting position as he looked around with wonder, he seemed to wince oddly.

Right away a surge of fury overtook her happiness and she shoved him down onto his back as she shouted between bliss and ill temper 'Aleck!'

Week 1, day 6:

Joshua widened his eyes as he mused in confusion and playfulness "Aw... You were happy and angry that I survived erasure?"

They were right next to the Reaper who had a Wall up, making it impossible for them to waltz into Dogenzaka for the moment.

"Geez! Not so loud, Aleck!' exclaimed Rei as she shook him wildly, she looked a bit hysterical and embarrassed by her deep flushed cheeks when she coldly remarked "You're such a twit! You know that. Right?"

Joshua giggled as he smirked, "Sure… Hehehe…" for a second he let it sink in before he teased again "I'll be glad to be of service for that, Rei. 'Cause of how strong you are because of you, crying…" Before he could say more, pain shot through his head when Rei bashed her clipboard into his head, he yelped in agony and bit his lip when Rei puffed "Gah! Don't you dare try to mock me, Aleck! I'll add you to my list of people I want to murder."

"So that's what you write on your clipboard," teased Joshua as he chuckled to himself, "But there is a slight problem with that Rei. We're dead already-"

This earned him another treatment from Rei's clipboard.

"Shut up, Aleck!" Rei sputtered before she tried to hide her blush, in a second she smirked as her eyes gleamed "Now that you know… Camaraderie works, deal with it."

With another chuckle, his heart felt warmed when he thought 'Right. I can't say that I'm too annoyed by what she said, because I guess it's a good thing to have allies to back you up.'

For the first time in awhile, Joshua felt happy for the company of another person.

And a little of his anger towards his half brother; washed away.
