TWEWY: A Fall Into Honor:

This story is about how Joshua became the Composer. The story is from Joshua's point of view, and others if the story needs to. This is a prequel of the game The World Ends With You. TWEWY is made by Square Enix. And I own the OCs. This is a FAN FICTION and not the real prequel. Enjoy! =3

Wow, finally it's been over a year since this story was created! Thank you to those who have read the story throughout this whole time =3

Sadly, I still need to finish TWEWY =( I am stuck on week 2 day 5 because of some Reaper wanting Neku to wear all brand clothing, yet, I have no idea where to find pants for Neku! Grr... Curse you Reaper!

Anyways, enjoy =3 (Finally a chapter that's short for once!)

Week 1, day 7:

Chapter 29: The Meaning Of The Number 7:

His neck ached, throbbing in pain as he lay there. Perhaps Joshua only felt that way because he was lying on a bench, with the crook of his neck dangling over the edge.

Joshua let out a chuckle. 'Wow… This is such a lousy way to wake up, eh?'

Letting out a lazy groan, he sat up. He saw that once again they were in the Scramble Crossing, the place he woke up first after he was shot in the head by whoever it was that day.

With a sigh, he shifted himself to get up before he scanned the area for his half brother. Luckily, he saw the petite blond lying nearby so he just settled back to waiting.

Yesterday's terrors had left him exhausted. The last time he could really recall being quite so harrowed was during the day that he and Ayumu were killed. But this time, he at least had some good results to offset the bad; he was glad he was able to prevent his half-brother from being erased and gone for good yesterday. He had a decent clue that no one actually came back after erasure, it made sense when you took time to ponder about it.

Right now he couldn't stop thinking about how Ayumu was almost erased yesterday. If he had been, then Joshua might have erased himself as well.

Still, he wondered one thing: Why would Ayumu actually go through with going to the Station Underpass when it was obvious he would get erased? Did Izo trick him into going there? Or did Ayumu just do it all on his own? Whatever the reason, Joshua wanted to know.

Suddenly, at the soft sound of movement, Joshua looked up. Apparently his head had been slowly drooping when he had been thinking.

Ayumu was now awake; he was already standing tall with his head tilted up a little as he stared at Joshua. With a nod he quietly spoke, "Morn' Josh."

"Good morning to you too," replied Joshua as he gave a chuckle; his lavender eyes glittered as he stared into the pale silvery grey ones of Ayumu. "It's day 7. And do you know what that means?"

His half-brother gave no response, his blind eyes only blinked. It was as if Ayumu was silently telling him to explain.

Joshua smiled and reached over to ruffle his younger half-brother's golden tipped blond hair. "Well then, day 7 is-"

He couldn't finish his sentence. He was pulled back in a second when an arm had slung over his neck like a hook. "Rei!"

"Rude again to a lady, Aleck." Of course… it was Rei.

She was tugging Joshua back close to her body like he was a teddy bear, cutting his oxygen off in a supposedly endearing chokehold like what all plushies receive from a young child. "What's this about what day 7 is? It's a day, like all other days, y'know?"

Thrashing against her grip, Joshua was fighting for freedom and air when she had been speaking.

"Impede erasing him on behalf of the truth, Tyke," growled Izo, his dark blue bangs barely covering his right maroon eye as he walked over to Ayumu and stood beside the silent blond. "Some like you, Rei, are no longer recognized to be sane."

Rei let out a huff of hot air and released Joshua to be able to slide out her clipboard. She waved it back and forth before pointing it at Izo. "Hmph. Make another remark like that, Izo, to welcome yourself to another helping of my trusty clipboard." Immediately she flashed a cocky smirk.

Izo gave a step back, his eyes flashed with fear for a second.

Finally Joshua had all the oxygen he needed to exist before he let out a sigh of relief. "Well, at least my head's still intact."

"Aw… I didn't drag you back too hard, Aleck," chirped Rei with a toothy grin now; she fastened the straps of her red velvet jacket. "I just think you should go with the flow." She did little circle gestures near the end of when she was speaking, apparently trying to imitate a current.

Joshua sighed. 'Back to Aleck again... I think she'll call me that until she doesn't exist anymore.' He looked at the rest of the group they had formed over the duration of the week. "Okay, you wanted to know what day 7 is, right?"

"Of course I do!" screamed Rei, waving her arms in the air madly.

Izo shook his head in aloofness while muttering an incoherent curse before the four of them made a circle together. "From what I perceive, you sound as though it is vital to this day. Please do enlighten us all, mate."

With a nod to the cobalt haired walking freezer, he explained, "Like all days we've had here in the UG, our main objective as Players is to complete missions within the essence of time." He felt the memory of Sanae explaining the same thing slip into his mind as he continued. "Now, we will still do just as we did before, but…" For a moment he paused. "We only have one kind of mission today to accomplish."

Rei scratched the back of her ashen hair as her ponytail swished when she turned to Joshua. "Got it! But what is the mission then?"

Izo let out a growl before he closed his eyes while pushing his small silver oval glasses back. "To reminisce from yesterday, that man had mentioned Iwoa Saiyama will mêlée with us today. If I am correct in what he had intended."

"And you are correct, Izo," said the ashen blond teen with a scowl at Izo. "We will fight the GM today wherever he wants us to. Other matters we have right now is one, teensy problem…"

Ayumu blinked his eyes at him, he spoke in a hollow voice, "Reap'?"

Straightaway Izo narrowed his eyes at the youngest. "Feh. Attempt to make what you say clearer, Blind Brat."

Bile rose up in Joshua as he clenched his hands. "Don't call Ayumu that." His tone was harsh as he dared a step towards the 15 and a half-year-old with a snarl, "You know he can't communicate with us right-"

"Exactly," curtly agreed Izo. "He won't understand what I just said anyways."

Before any of them could do or say anything else Joshua met a pang in his skull along with Izo.

"Stop bickering you two twits!" chided Rei as she still had her clipboard ready to hit them again.

But despite the threat at hand, their anger pooled within the atmosphere like a thunderstorm ready to unleash its rage. Just when it seemed to be coming to a head though, three shrilling jingles rang out despite the feud.

"Eh?" Joshua took out his orange cellphone and read the new text, "Find the place where two have been lost within their demise; receive justice by my hand. You have until t-60 minutes before you face erasure by the Reapers."

After he said the last word, pain stabbed into his palm like needles and he let out a yelp. He looked at the ill-reputed timer that was blood red.

'I'm really starting to not like timers,' thought Joshua as he watched the time slip away.

"Mean what, Josh?" asked Ayumu emotionlessly to Joshua.

Joshua shrugged before he turned to the blond. "If you mean the mission, then I have no clue." He gave a sheepish giggle as Ayumu looked down at the ground.

For a moment Joshua closed his eyes frowning to himself. 'I'll get our entry fees back, Ayumu. By the end of today you'll have your emotions and your ability to communicate with all of us back again. Then all of us can have a ramen party when we are alive-'

"You see, the game is more about a second chance than devising fun without a care. But the Composer chooses who lives, and who starts again in the game." A flash of Sanae's face appeared in Joshua's mind from the time when Sanae explained to him about that topic.

'That's right…' His lavender eyes widened with alarm. 'Whoever the Composer is will only allow some of us to live again. That means… that means everyone will be split apart! How could I forget what Sanae said!?'

Suddenly he felt a small squeeze on his hand, he let out a shaky breath he had been suppressing that whole time as he noticed Ayumu holding his hand. The younger blond's eyes were closed as Joshua barely heard his whisper, "Fine… none all survive…"

Joshua almost yelped accidently as he pried his hand out of Ayumu's and took him away from Izo and Rei. Strangely, both of them were unusually quiet, wearing blank expressions.

By the time they were at a far enough distance where Izo and Rei couldn't hear them, Joshua grabbed Ayumu's shoulders and shook him violently. "Ayumu! Never say that again!" Ayumu blinked at him as he ranted on, "I don't want Rei and Izo to find out that there is a chance that some of us might not live again in the RG. Do you understand?"

Ayumu did a nod after Joshua stopped shaking him. "Aye."

'Wow. Ayumu responded quicker than I thought he would.'

"Good!" Joshua let out a sigh before he looked at Rei and Izo who were coming to join them side-by-side. Rei looked downcast while Izo looked like he was quivering almost.

Finally, after a few moments of staring at each other, Rei let out a sad sigh. "We need to go to Pork City Tower, Aleck."

Frowning at Rei, Joshua was confused by their odd behavior. "Wait, what?"

"The mission is referring to our deaths, Aleck." said Rei not looking at him, not even a fragment of her usual cunning and joviality was in the ash grey haired lady's voice. "Remember? I told you that we died there."

"You did mention that, didn't you, Rei?" asked Joshua thoughtfully.

The lady did a nod and looked away towards her foster brother, concern flickered in her eyes. Joshua looked at Izo as well. He looked like he was in a store again, just like during day 4, without the part where he freaked out from his store phobia. No aloof or smart remarks. He was without a doubt just plain scared.

"I see," replied Joshua solemnly with a nod. "Shall we go now?"

Rei nodded biting her lip while Izo had hung his head so Joshua couldn't see his terrified face anymore.

He spun around to meet Ayumu who was observing them all and Joshua asked with unease, "Are you ready to go, Ayumu?" He felt worried about his half-brother since he wasn't dealing with the GM's attacks well yesterday; plus he knew that Iwoa had a grudge against the blind brother that would certainly manifest in another brutal assault when they battled him.

"Aye go, Josh." Ayumu started to walk forward and Joshua walked beside him, not wanting to leave his half-brother's side until they reached Pork City Tower.

On his hand, fifty-eight minutes ticked down towards the end.

To be continued…
