"Bonjour my little huskies!" Aurora said probably interrupting some important lesson between Camus, Isaak and Hyoga
"Miss Aurora! You came back from the sanctuary!" – Hyoga said and Isaak came along with him, both hugging her legs and almost making her fall on the snow
"Yes, finally! And here is some real chocolate for you two because goddamn, Russian chocolate is the worst." she gave to them two, amused while seeing the shine on their eyes. She felt a cold look gazing at her, then turned around to meet the blue-eyed guy staring at her in disapproval. – There's chocolate for you too, Camus."- she added.
"You just interrupted our lessons. Chocolate should be later," he grumbled.
"No, it will give them the energy they need. Haven't you studied?" - she provoked him.
Camus rolled his eyes. If there was something that she knew 100% about him it was how much that man have studied. Books were his passion.
"Miss Aurora, can I ask you and Master a question?" – Isaak asked
"Sure, I guess."
"How did he end up becoming the Aquarius saint?
Camus and Aurora looked at each other not really wanting to answer that but she decided to make an effort.
"Well, I wasn't feeling completely well that day and Camus always had what was necessary in a battle no matter what. Calm and focus. But that didn't affect me, I'm not sure if I'd be a good Aquarius saint as he is. And l really like to be free"
"You are amazing! You help our Master, you travelled the whole world, you are smart and very strong, isn't she, master?" -Hyoga said, enthusiastic.
"Yes, she is.- Camus rolled his eyes, tired of all the nonstopping flattery while Aurora only could laugh"- Why don't you both go to the village and bring us some fruits? I need to talk about serious things with Aurora"
"Okay, can we buy something for us too?"
"Yes, he is rich."
"Pas du tout, Aurora!" Camus contested- "Ok, fine, you can do whatever you want with the change, but don't be silly".-Camus gave them some cash and they ran away. Isaak was loud so they could hear when he said "I bet he is going to ask her out this time!" and while Camus remained serious yet blushed she just snorted.
They walked together to a hill until an old viewpoint deck, as they used to do as kids. They could get a view of the frozen lake, a forest and the local village from up there.
"You spoil these kids too much. We are not their family."
She sighed ."Yeah, but we are everything they have. The world is already harsh, I don't want to be mean to them. They are like my little brothers, Camus, they're like us a few years ago" Camus sighed. " I guess you're right, this time."
Aurora looked to the horizon and smiled.
"Why are you smiling?"
"Isaak's question…It made me remember that day…
"Oh. The day before our last fight. We were here…"
"And you convinced me to see the Northern Lights as my dad wished me to see and then I started to cry…"
Camus got a little uncomfortable and cleared his throat. " And then you kissed me out of the blue."
She rolled her eyes and turned to face him."Just a little innocent kiss! A small peck. We were like 10? I was crying and you hugged me and didn't know what to do. Besides, I was dying to know what it was like.
He raised an eyebrow, secretly enjoying her agitation.
They were in silence for a moment, enjoying the view.
"I'm sorry. Since that day I think if I didn't bring you here to see the lights you wouldn't have lost your focus during the battle"
"Don't be."- she gave him a smile.- "That was indeed the most beautiful thing I've ever seen and I'm glad for that day. I felt like my family was close to me when I saw those lights. I don't care about not being a saint, you do this job better than anyone could ever do." - she shrugged. – "I'm fine, it was not your fault. Things are just like they're supposed to be. "
"So, how was Greece?"-He asked, eating a bit of the chocolate.
"Hot as usual. Your house is intact, by the way. I promise."
He smirked.- "Any messages?"
"All the gold saints should reunite next month, I think it's about a few missions or something. Go, I'll watch the kids. Aiolia is still going through his punk phase. Milo asked "when that french bastard will show up, he promised wine" which probably concerns you since I'm not french at all. And also hit on me again. Asshole.
Camus sighed. "Stupid as usual. What did you do?"
"Kicked his parts."
"Excellent"- he said, slightly flushed
"I know it's just Milo's way of saying that he misses us but sometimes I'm too tired for that."
"He's probably bored to death and desperate for attention… but I actually plan to go back to Greece as well, can't wait to finish their training. So I can read and rest a little bit. It's more exhausting training someone than actually fighting"
"When you come back…can I still go with you? You know, doing my stuff in peace but living there too? I sort of hate…being alone."
Camus smiled kindly - I guess it would be good.
She smiled gratefully, feeling a weird sensation on her stomach, and looked away to the sky.
