CHAPTER 36: The blades demise.
It has been a month since Calinwen got the documents. Two weeks later we lost a group of justiciars in the Rift who where searching for Esbern. I sat in the fort's office when a knock on the door pulled me from my thoughts. "enter." I said. A soldier opened the door with a salute and went to the side and Calinwen entered. "Welcome. Please take a seat." the door closed and Calinwen sat down. She had new scars and looked exhasuted.
With a sigh Calinwen began talking. "So the blade is suspecting i am not who i made her believe i am." I offered her some wine. "So when i was going to get Esbern she made me take some ally of her, i was forced to kill dominion soldiers." She took a gulp of wine.
"No matter. they died in service of the dominion. Their families will be notified they died doing there duty in the face of dead." she smiled slightly. "But i guess there is more?"
Calinwen nodded. "Yes, so after Esbern and i went to Delphine. We went to sky haven temple here in skyrim. It's a akaviri stronghold and she recruited new blades. Not much but.." I grinned and stood up.
"Then gather your arms and armor. We will go to this temple. and bring esbern and delphine with us in chains."
Calinwen stood up. "I need to mediate a truce party at high hrothgar. They will be there. So i will sneak you in and after the peace talk..."
I nodded and pushed a fist against my hand. "We will jump them and we will meet after you dealt with the dragons." She nodded and we both went away.
We sneaked through a forsworn cavern. The bodies of the forsworn was still displayed around as i looked behind me. Around two dozen red legion warriors and mages where preparing. Calinwen went ahead to distract the guards posted. I looked and motioned a archer to take aim at the blade recruit. As soon as the blade turned to look at our direction it was to late as an elven arrow pierced his head and we all went forward. Shields held up high as we didn't know where the blades where posted. We approached a head. IF i would have to take a guess it would be a dragonborn from ages past, but Calinwen waited for us near the door.
"Ok. So here is the temple. I will go to the peace talk and try to stall them while you clean up." I grinned as i pulled up my mask. I pointed my sword to the door and the legion bagan marching. After everyone went through Calinwen pulled my arm. "Stay save Thorein. We need you, and post some illusion mages as guards to not give Delphine a clue."
I nodded. "Good luck Calinwen. REturn to us and don't let them fool you to help them." I said meaning the civil war. She smilled and walked away. I waited then ran inside after the legion. But as soon as i ran up the stairs i saw the legion fighting with blade recruits. I quickly joined the fray dodging arrows as best i could. Locking blades with one blade a arrow hit my arm. Bashing with my shield i tried to stab the blade but only got to give hi a prick as he jumped backwards. I raised my shield as i shouted in Altemri. "Kill the archers, then surround them." Before the blade recruit tried to slash of my head. I deflected the sword and pushed against the recruit. i walked over the blade and brought my blade down his neck. Singling out another blade i began charging. With a quick stab through the back i looked around. only two remained. The remaining went back to back. "Mages. Flay them alive!" the mages began spraying fire and lightning magic at the blades. I raised my sword. "GLORY FOR THE RED LEGION!" The warriors all shouted and began catching there breath. i walked to our mages and smiled. "You know illussion?" one mage nodded. "Good. you will make yourself look like a blade recruit. I will make someone warn you with a sound." the mage nodded and i prepared the trap.
Every fire was out for the trap. I heard two sets of footfalls a blade being pulled from it's sheath. the remaining mages light the fires and i grinned as i saw an old man and a semi old woman in blades armor surrounded by my legion. "Ah welcome. Delphine and Esbern i presume?"
"Ho.. You'll never take us alive!" the woman shouted as both began to charge. two paralasis spells made them fall down.
"Bind them! and put a gag in there mouths. we don't need this half breed to speak... yet." i grinned. "Elenwen is dying to meet you two." i laughed. "But the meeting. Won't be pleasant for you two."
