Six months later
The mid-spring light breeze made climbing to saint 's cemetery less painful, at least physically. The colorful flowers on the garden of the dead gave it a light atmosphere, almost innocent.
Milo stopped and sat on the ground in front of a familiar yet recent gravestone. He opened a can of beer —'Cheers, my friend. It's been a while. I know you prefer wine but beer is easier to bring.'— he opened another can and put it beside the grave.
After a few sips and a long pause, he dared to speak again.
'— Weather is finally warming up. Although... I didn't mind last winter. It reminded me you. A Greek like me enjoying winter like an old man like you...hah, when in the world..."
"Things changed a lot lately, you must know. Still, we don't have another pope yet. I think Mu would be a good one but no one said nothing about that. But things are working out, maybe it's better this way."
"I feel a bit guilty for not realizing how twisted things were here, I mean, the guy who died to save Athena was treated like a traitor for 13 years! Gosh, this is unforgivable... I feel...awful."
He let go a laugh — "But in the end I bet you figured it out, somehow, you bastard. You were always the smart one".
Milo took another sip and shook the can; it was almost gone.— Look, I can't stay for long today. I have to go on a trip and—
"Milo, are you there? Can you give a little hand over here? Good Lord, I'm exhausted. — a shout not so far away broke Milo's monologue.
He rolled his eyes and turned to the grave. — See? This is your girlfriend and this is your fault, Camus! What a fucking bad timing to die, honestly. I bet you are laughing. —"Aurora for Athena's sake why didn't you wait for me to come back and help you? And you really had to bring your luggage here, really?"- he shouted back, stood up and got ready to leave and looking one more time towards the gravestone
"She'll be fine, and I'll take care of her. And don't worry, I won't lay a finger on her. I promise" — he smiled." See you another day."
He rushed to help the raven-haired girl finish climbing the hill. — Rory, why did you had to bring all this over here? Couldn't you wait a little bit longer?
—Since when do you call me Rory? And there were too many tourists around to just drop my stuff around, I think I've been waiting for too long for too many stuffs to also wait for you stop talking, this may take ages.
—God...you're really impossible- he laughed, helping her to reach the gravestone-. But at least you are alright. Here, I`ll take care of your stuff. Call me when you`re done.
She nodded. — Thank you. You`re going to be a fantastic godfather.
— Tsc.- Milo turned his back and left her on her own.
She carefully sat on the ground, with a tender expression on her face— "Sorry for not coming often. This is my second time here, right? The first months were...complicated in tons of ways so everyone told me to give myself a break". - she rested her hands on her huge belly. -" I think the penny has finally dropped."
"First, I was a bit shocked and frustrated, but then...I'm glad you left part of you with me. In double". -she couldn`t help but smile when finishing the sentence
"But this is no news since I told you in my first visit, though in that time I was more desperate than thinking straight. You would nag me saying to think properly and stop the emotional bullshit, I bet. I guess I had it on mind after, thanks. "
"But actually, I came here to say goodbye. - Ugh, my stomach aches just saying this word! "- She let her tears roll without bothering to shed it.
"After you gone, I received a letter telling me that you left us your house in Montmartre, plus an indiscreet amount of money. I was speechless.. But then I realized that should not be a bad idea to live there. And grow our kids there. So, I'm moving— don`t worry, dear, my french is improving, I`ve been really dedicated these months. I'm bringing Milo to help me settle down on the first weeks."
"But yeah, I'll miss this place. Our home, our friends and all the memories I made here. Starting over is...rough. But I started over in Siberia once, dammit. I can overcome rough things."
"Milo said he'll come back soon as I give birth; he's their godparent anyway. I actually think it will be sort of funny to see him with kids. The others promised that they'll visit me as soon as they can; even Saori, I mean, Athena herself offered help, it was kind of embarrassing but really nice of her."
"Oh, almost forgot to tell you about Hyoga. He's doing fine now, recovered, however a little bit guilty. I wish he had peace on his heart, he is so young...he could barely face me on the last time I met him. I don't blame him anymore, I wish he could understand that. He was also happy when I told him I was expecting, he freaked out when he felt the kicks on my belly."
She shyly smiled - "Damn, I wish you could feel it too. I wonder what would be your reaction or what kind of parent you would turn out, all the kinds of small stuff. But this bittersweet fantasy is just useless, since all I can do is just wonder and wonder.
But I know you look after us, wherever you are. And I know that I'll see you on them and on your house. I know you'll always be with me somehow.
I must go now, I have a fly to catch and be ready for it, 7 months must be almost the limit, at least when you're pregnant of twins.
Oh, I think we have names now. I don't know their sex for sure, but I got this feeling that I'll probably have a boy and a girl. What do you think about Nina and Cedric? Can't take it out of my head. You could suggest something too, give me a sign. Meet me in my dreams.
She left a kiss on the gravestone. -Adieu, mon amour. Thanks for making my heart burn.
And...that's it! If you read til there, a HUGE thank you for keeping up with a story that started when I was 12 (wow its been a while...haha ). There's a lot of things I wish I could re-write but that's fine by now, It's just a silly story anyway. It was fun! See ya.
