April found herself slipping into a seat next to her slightly inebriated twin, "One." She held up a finger to Joe. He nodded and slide a shot of tequila in front of her. "Oh and she's cut off." She nodded towards Meredith.

"No I need more. " Meredith tried to swipe April's drink.

"I think not." April held her drink away from Meredith. "Okay Mer tell me what happened."

"We were going to go out to dinner and then this leggy red head shows up and says you must be the woman screwing my husband. And I didn't know he was married, and she's super model hot and I'm so screwed." Meredith laid her head down on the bar.

Just then Christina and George came through the door. "Holy shit it's April Grey." Christina muttered.

"Who?" George asked?

"Meredith's twin sister do you not do any research she works at Mercy West."

"Meredith has a twin sister what?" George was very lost as Cristina went up to the sisters.

"So the mysterious twin finally shows up." The two women looked up at the other shock written across their faces.

"You knew?" Meredith looked at her friend.

"Of course I knew. I make it a point to know all about famous surgeons. I know that you actually go by dr Kepner instead of Grey."

"Well aren't you a swift one." April snarked.

"Oh she's pissy." Cristina said. "Why aren't you with Mcdreamy? I though you had a date."

"let's play a game whose life sucks the most."

"Oh no you see you don't want to play that game with me." Cristina shook her head.

"really because I bet I'd win." Meredith said trying to get another drink and being blocked by April.

"I said no."

"Derek's married." Meredith told her friend as she tried to grab the drink from her sister's hand.

"Yeah well….." Cristina trailed off looking at the other Grey sister. "I'm pregnant."

"What?" Meredith looked on in shock as April pretended like she'd never heard a word.

Just then a crash came behind them and the doctors all turned to see Joe crash to the floor. "Okay maybe Joe wins." Cristina said as all four doctors rushed to his side. April realized she would be in the way and kissed Meredith's cheek. "I need to be back at work in a few hours. "I am going to crash in your room okay Liz?"

"Yeah go on." Meredith hugged her. "Love you Jane."

"It was nice meeting you." April said to Cristina and George making her way out of the bar as the other's made their way to the hospital.

April was thankful at that moment that even though she had no love life at least it wasn't a messy crazy love life like Meredith.

"Why did she call you Liz and who the hell is Jane?" Cristina asked.

"It is our own little thing." Meredith shrugged.

Meredith couldn't breath as she got into the house barely even noticing George coming behind her. She stumbled up the stairs and into her room she saw her sister asleep in the bed and crawled in beside her. She fell into an uneasy sleep glad her sister hadn't let her get too drunk.

She woke up the next morning to her sister running around the bedroom. "Sorry to wake you have to get to work and I think you do too." April shoved her foot into a shoe. Call me later if you want me to kick Mcdreamy's ass." She gave a wave as she got a quick chuckle from Meredith with that April was out the door.

"Can't believe Meredith has a twin sister." George mumbled.

"Wait what?" Izzy looked at him.

"Yeah that was her leaving the house met her at the bar last night her name is April she is an intern at Mercy West."

"The twist last night brought out." Izzy muttered.

"pick up pick up pick up" Meredith muttered tapping her toe.

"Meredith are you okay?"

"No she Shepard has me on her service today special request."

"What a bitch she has to know he never told you."

"I don't know what she does and does not know. But it's a cool surgery it's tts."

"Really I just have a gallstone surgery."

"I have to go Aps I will talke you later."

"Okay Mer." April sighed shutting the phone and slipping it into her pocket.

"Why so blue Kepner." She turned to see Jackson.

"It's nothing twin things."

"So nothing to do with Meredith's married lover?"

"How did you know that?"

"some of the interns were at Joe's last night."

"Great that's just great." April threw up her hands and grabbed a chart storming away.

Meredith found George in front of the babies. "Talking to yourself now?"

"no…." he sighed. "So you have a sister?"

"Yeah I have a sister but she wants to be away from the Grey legacy. So why are you here?"

"No reason." He shook his head.

"really George out with it."

"Well can you think of a reason why Cristina would be kissing burke. Meredith got pissed.

She reached for her phone wanting to call her sister but knowing it really wasn't her place. She was pissed though pissed that Cristina gave her so much grief over dating an attending well she was doing the exact same thing.

"I hate my life right now." Meredith slummed onto one of the gurney's in the basement as she talked to her sister. I am on a paitent who was cheated on and she hates me. She despises me and she asked to have me removed from her case but here's the kicker the leggy red head said she's the one who cheated on Derek and I'm so confused."

"Meredith I have some bad news for you well it seems some Mercy Wester's were at the bar last night and now they all know about you and Derek. Haven't figured me out yet though it seems."

"Well lucky you." Meredith snapped.

"Mer I wish they had figured me out I'd take that over this any time you know that."

"I do know that." Meredith sighed… I'm sorry."

"Did you hear about the stand still surgery they're doing over at Seattle Grace." Jackson asked handing April a coffee." She took it but looked at it suspiciously.

"What?"

"Yeah on that bartender."

"I believe his name is joe and no I hadn't heard I was there when he collapsed though."

"Surprised you usually have the inside track on Seattle Grace."

"Yeah well Meredith is a little preoccupied right now so."

"Right the married attending. Meredith does sure know how to get herself into some tight spots."

"it does seem that way." April sighed. "Thanks for the coffee." She raised it and walked away.

A knock came on April's door late that night she opened it to find a crying Meredith on the other side. She quickly pulled her inside.

"Hey Liz what's up."

Meredith slumped down on the couch. "He told me the story of how he caught her in bed with his best friend. And I don't know I feel for him. He said I made him feel like he was coming up for air but I told him that's to little." She shook her head. How do I always end up here."

"I don't know sis I just don't know." April held her tightly and let Meredith soak all her worries into her. That was what big sisters were for after all.

A/N so a few things one I still can't believe that A Cristina had no clue who Jackson was or what harper Avery looked like so I made her smarter in this story knowing about April. B. in the first episode of season 2 Bailey tells George she was the only female intern her year yet Callie and Sydney Heron are both fifth years at the same time as they are all fighting over chief resident. So bad writing I say.
