He carried a whip in his trotter.
There was deadly silence.
Everybody had frozen in front of this terrifying scene. Suddenly Napoleon began to speak : "Animals, I, Napoleon, offer you a democracy!"
"We, pigs, will make decisions by voting", Squealer explained, "this is the start of the revolutionary changes we have always wanted."
The audiance was gobsmacked at first but then began to understand what this meant and started cheering.
"You're lying! This will be a dictatorship! We won't have choices or freedom, you will decide everything for us which is exactly what you are already doing!"
It was Snow, one of the new horses in the farm, who had yelled. Her old master had been quite intelligent and often spoke aloud, so she had been able to learn things such as this. "You just want to control the animals and become their master", she finally declared.
At hearing this word, the animals flinched and threw disgusted looks at Napoleon, Squealer and the other pigs.
This was the start of the revolution they had always wanted. They began to scream at each others, to trash around. The pigs were starting to get nervous seeing the wild strenght of the animals around them and decided to run away, reverting back to their original walk in their panic.
But sadly, to see them run away broke the last thread of control the animals still had. They began to chase them. Some pigs got thrown into trees, other walked on. It was a bloodbath.
During all this, Napoleon had done nothing but stand still, knowing he was protected by his faithful dogs. Or so he thought. The dogs, standing in a circle around him, turned in his direction, growling. He started to whistle, to try and get them back under his control but nothing worked.
They too had understood Napoleon's manipulations and misdeeds so they knew without doubt that he would not repent for his sins. The dogs leaped at him and began tearing him apart like a pack of wild wolves.
Soon enough, all the pigs were dead. Once the animals began to calm down, they realised what they had done.
Even though, they were now free, guilt still weighted heavily on their minds. Seeing it was getting dark, the animals decided to bury the bodies of the pigs so they could let some of the guilt go. Once done, they walked back to the farm and sat down. Sensing each other's distress, they began to drift toward each others. Soon enough, they were embracing one another, offering comfort.
They all guilty but, sensing the presence of others, they knew everything was going to be alright.
