Hey folks! Sorry for the wait! This is how I imagine the Stolls, super ADHD, can't concentrate, no deep thoughts, ext. Since they are basically the same I am not writing this again for Conner even though it is in Travis' POV. Sorry this is so short. THREE REVIEWS till the next chapter. I wanna reach 25- can that work?
Wow, this had to be the worst day of my brother's and my life. I mean sure, the war was tough and the entire Luke was our half-brother thing was rather confusing but this is just suckastic. Is that even a word? I could ask Annabeth but she would likely kill me… and as I remember now she is also not here. Sorry ADHD- back to the topic. Percy was our rock… Gods that sounded strange, please ignore that. Let's try this from a different approach. Chiron the crazy (Please don't tell him I said, or more or less thought that about him) centaur just galloped off, never seen him run that fast before, and our brother, Chris just left.
As I glance around the pavilion I watch the other campers. Jake Mason (now fully out of his body cast thingy) was kicking the table and his sister Nyssa was leading little Harley (gotta love that name, don't you!?) back to the cabin. His other siblings, Shane and Christopher were also following Nyssa. I imagined it was hard for all of them- after Beckendorf's death, losing Percy was rather… what's the right word, a cruel trick from the gods. I looked over to Conner only to find him hurrying back to our cabin so I got up and followed.
"Well, this is suckastic…" Conner mumbles.
I agreed with a simple head nod, still mental debating the possibilities of suckastic being a real word. Usually I would share this experience with my brother but know is simply not the right time. Conner startles me by saying, "Do you think they will survive?"
I feel my mouth fall open, "Of course," I cry, "why wouldn't they. They might not be back in time for the Camp War but they will live! There's no question about that."
Conner frowns, "Sure, but that has to be a long, hard fall. They might not even survive the impact."
"And when they get in there- in Tartarus," I swear the temperature went down ten degrees Conner finished for me, "they face the worse monsters of all times."
"Kronos, Medusa, the gorgons," We went back and forth naming all the monsters we could that we had either battled ourselves- winkwink- or learned about in monster class. "The Minotaur, evil Cyclopes, all those titans and what not, hellhounds, (hopefully not Mrs. O'Leary) evil things, and, and…" Did I mention I got a F+ in Monster Class? Yeh- I'm working for a D though, give me a break.
"But Percy does always win, right?" My younger brother Conner mumbles, "No matter how dimwitted he is."
"Remember when we first met him- with his Stolls vs Stole thingy, man he was so young."
"Or when he battled Luke the first time in practice! Boy that was wicked!"
"Yeh, he rocked with the water- is there water in Tartarus?"
I shrug, not sure. I mean no one knows, except for like Nico the only other mortal or god to have gone there and survived and I have no intention of asking him. My brother and I plop down on our bunks as Chris walks in and checks on us. He mentions his girlfriend, how he managed to get a daughter of Ares I have no idea, I can't even talk to her without ending up with a bloody nose. Anyhow, Chris leaves again and Conner falls backwards on his bed. "They will live." I flop back on my bed and agree. For now at least I was happy with that thought and had no doubts- I could still see Percy pick up that sword and disarm Luke like it was yesterday… Those things stay with you forever, I guess. But for now I'm tired. I don't think there will be a campfire tonight. Who cares anyhow? "Sleep tight, don't let the monsters bite," I call out to Conner and close my eyes.
