Chapter 6: Back to Normal…Or Is It?

"Hey! Hey! Aiiisha!" I heard a voice as i came into consciousness. The voice belonged to none other than my familiar Angkor as he sat on my tummy. "Come on Aisha-chi its time to get up." I grumbled as i heard these words and opened my eyes weakly.

"Get up?" I asked groggily. "I only took a little nap... it's not even morning yet." I said as I waved my hand in a shooing motion at him.

"Well actually..." said Angkor in an insinuating tone. Annoyed, I decided to look over at my clock as it read "6:40 am". "Aaack! Angkor! Why didn't you wake me!?" I squealed as I hopped out of bed, launching the purple bat into the air.

"But I just did mistress." Whined the bat as he fluttered in the air.

"That's no excuse!" I shouted as I bolted to the bathroom and got ready. After about 15minutes, I hopped out of the shower and wrapped up in a towel as I blow dried my hair. 'Hmmm… I wonder if news of what happened this weekend will reach school?' I pondered to myself as I finished drying my hair. I wrapped up in my towel and walked outside to see my alternate school uniform was laid out on the bed.

"I took the liberty of getting your uniform ready while you were in the shower Aisha-chi" Said Angkor as he fluttered about cheerily. "Why thank you Angkor~" I said as I petted him. "Remind me to get you some more bat treats next time I go to the store."

"Will do." said the familiar as I sat on the bed and slid on my tights and brown checkered skirt. I slid my undershirt as I put my uniform top on and scurried offer to my dresser and grabbed two purple ribbons. I grabbed my long hair and separated them into two long spiky pig tails, tying them each with a ribbon.

'Perfect~' I said in my head as I slipped on my shoes and grabbed my staff and book bag.

"Well I'll be going now Angkor." I said as I smiled and waved. "You be a good familiar now~"

"Aren't I always?" grinned Angkor.

"Nope~" I teased him.

"Hmmph" pouted Angkor. "Anyways mistress, do remember that we have training tonight when you get home ok?" I groaned a little at that bit of news. The last time we had "training" I was all tied up by some tentacles from god knows where.

"Fine... but do I have to wear that revealing outfit again?" I whined at him.

"You already know the answer to that Aisha-chi~"Angkor said with a devilish grin. It had pervert written all over it.

"Sometimes I wonder why I even agreed to become a void princess..." I grumbled as I closed the door.

As my mistress stormed down the hall, I sighed and fluttered over to her pillow.

"If I had it my way princess, you wouldn't have to lift a finger..." I said to myself as I got comfortable on her pillow. I stared out the window and shivered as the presence I've been sensing for the past couple of days was stirring again. I didn't know exactly where it was... but I knew my princess was ready to deal with it...at least not yet anyways... 'Oh well... one day at a time Angkor...' I thought to myself as I closed my eyes.

'Damn it...' I cursed in my head as I took my seat. 'I can't believe I missed breakfast...' I had made it to the d-fac (dining facility) but they had cleaned up their trays so i had to just head to homeroom. "Grrrr, I can't believe they stop serving breakfast 10mins prior to homeroom..." I grumbled as rested my head on the desk.

"I know right?" I heard a familiar voice as i looked up at a cheerful Rena smiling at me. "And since you weren't at breakfast this morning I thought you could use this~" she smiled as she gave me a granola bar. It was about the length of my cell phone which wasn't that big but I didn't care. I quickly unwrapped it and gobbled it down. I heard a feint giggle as I turned to see Eve sitting to the left of me.

"I'm guessing you really liked that granola bar huh Aisha."

"N-no..." I tried to protest. "It's just that I-" *gurgle gurgle* went my stomach as it burned up the tiny granola bar I had just consumed and was hungry for more

"Well it seems like your stomach says otherwise Aisha." smirked Eve as she took out another granola bar and handed it to me. "So I took the liberty and got you one too. You see Rena; I told you she'd need more than one."

"Oh hush fool!" Rena exclaimed as she pouted. I however unconsciously grabbed the granola bar and inhaled it quickly. They both stopped their bickering to laugh at the sight. I had to admit, it was pretty funny too so I joined in the laughter as well.

"So why were you late this morning Aisha?" Asked Rena as her laughter died down. "Are you feeling ok?" Her face seemed to go from cheerful to worry. I simply stretched as I yawned a little bit.

"Yeah I'm fine Rena, never been better actually. I kind of feel like I have a whole boatload of mana right now." I said as I looked at my hand. "I guess that means I've fully recovered then." We all nodded and bantered as other students began to fill the classroom, each of them lost in talks about their weekend.

"Hi Eve, Hi Rena." They said as they waved to them and took their seats.

"Hi guys, good morning." I said as I waved to the student sitting in front of eve.

"..." the boy flinched as he heard me but looked away as if he didn't hear me. He quickly sat down as he was doing his best to ignore me.

'Oh right, this again...' I thought to myself as I rested my chin on my palm.

"Hey! Stop being rude and say good morning!" demanded Eve as she slammed her hand down on her desk. I watched as the boy turned to face a furious eve.

"Um, excuse me... but I believe my friend greeted you good morning..." I heard Rena chime in. I soon felt a very familiar feeling of impending doom as I looked up to see Rena giving her infamous "smile of impending doom". "Don't you think it's rude when someone doesn't greet you? Especially if you went out of your way to greet that someone. You wouldn't want to be 'rude' now...would you?"

The boy gulped loudly at the news. "N-n-no I wouldn't." stammered the boy. Hey turned around, stifled at the malicious aura strangling him. "S-s-sorry Aisha..." he managed to get out after a few attempts. "I just didn't see you that all."

"I-it's ok..." I responded as I retreated my view away from him.

"See? That wasn't so hard right?" giggle Rena, her aura still filling the area.

"N-no...hahahaha..." said the boy, who was sweating bullets by now. I cautiously turned back around and sat back into his seat and hid his face in a book.

"You know you didn't have to do that guys..." I said softly while looking down at my desk, trying to hide my blush. "But thank you."

"Aw don't mention it~" smiled Rena and her aura changed back to normal. "I'm not just going to sit here and let my friend get disrespected like that. Isn't that right Eve?"

"Affirmative." She responded coolly as she flicked a silver bang from her face. I smiled and sat back into my chair as our homeroom teacher, Miss Lucy, walked in. She was about 5 foot, 4 inches and wore a long blue dress that went down to her ankles. With it she a cream long- sleeved blouse and a black vest. Her long ebony hair reached down to her shoulders and swished as she walked to her desk.

"Ok students, take your seats. It's time for roll call." She said as she sat down and opened her attendance book.

"Bobby?"

"Here."

"Ronan?"

"Here."

"Rena?"

"Hello~"

"Eve?"

"Present."

"Aisha?"

"Ah, here." I responded. This went on for a bit until everyone's name was called in class. Miss Lucy then closed her attendance and looked at me.

"Oh, and welcome back Aisha. I just heard from the principal this morning. I'm glad you're safe and sound." She said with a smile. I could feel everyone's eyes stare at me, then back at the teacher.

"Hehe...yeah?" I responded and smiled as a bead of sweat rolled down my cheek.

"Well, last Friday poor Aisha here was snatched up off the streets by some thugs." Miss Lucy announced to the class.

'Noooo! Miss Lucy what are you doing!?' I yelled in my mind. Two empty circles replaced my eyes as I sat there in shock as my business was put out there.

"Thankfully the police was able to find Aisha and capture the thugs responsible. But unfortunately Aisha was in a coma for most of the weekend. But thank god, she's back today~ "she said as her hand rested above her heart and she breathed a sigh of relief. "In lieu of this however, the principle thinks that we set up some new rules in regards to after school activities and such."

"Huh?" responded the whole class in unison at the news.

"Yes." Replied Miss Lucy. "With your safety in mind, all students must be on campus grounds by 9pm sharp. The principal believes this curfew would be the best weapon against incidents like last Friday from happening again."

"What the hell!? A curfew!?" cursed Ronan as he stood out of his seat and planted his hands on his desk. I could see his fury emanating from his body at the news.

"Ronan! Unless you want detention you will be quiet and stop cursing!" Miss Lucy demanded. He grumbled but then took his seat.

"Anyways, this new curfew will go into effect tomorrow. I know since dome of you are seniors, some of you have jobs. All you have to do is get supporting documentation and submit it by tomorrow night to avoid any consequences. I'm not sure how this will affect the autumn dance in the next few weeks... but I definitely think chaperones will be in order. I will let you know the details as I receive them." She said as she sat down and opened her planner.

I could hear the whole class in a muffled uproar as they grumbled about the bad news.

"Oh my god, I can't believe this noise!"

"I know right? We're like almost 18 if some of us aren't already."

"Damn it man, why is this happening?"

"It's because of her man. Weren't you listening to the teacher?"

"Tsk, why ruin everyone else's lives just because of one idiot?"

"I know man, it's fucking unfair."

I tried to shrink down into my seat, knowing full well they were talking about me. Just before I was about to get depressed about the situation, I felt a hand on my shoulder. At that moment the bell rang. I looked up to see Rena smiling back at me.

"Don't let them get to you ok Aisha?" I smiled and nodded as I got up and picked up my book bag.

"And you take care not to fall asleep in science class Rena." I said with a chuckle.

"Don't worry Aisha, I won't allow her to." Eve said with a giggle. "You take care now. Don't pay attention to these fools. You aren't to blame for this." And with that everyone filtered out to the hallways; they all had a "this is your entire fault" look to them as they passed by me and walked out into the hall way. Usually it would be a simple walk to history class but this morning, instead of the crowds avoiding me in the halls like they usually did, they all kept brushing past me vehemently as I made my way down the hall.

'They could've at least apologized...' I thought to myself as I continued walking to class. I had my head down as more students bumped past again. 'I'm guessing news of this curfew was in every class...-' "Ouch!" I yelled as I walked into something, or in this case someone. Like a force field, they repelled me so hard that they literally knocked me over.

"Hey what's the big idea huh? Are you trying to kill me?" I yelled at whoever knocked me over.

"Oh believe me, if I could, I would witch!" I looked up to see a disgruntled Ronan glaring down at me. I glared back at him weakly as I stared back at him. I decided it would be better to ignore him than to add fuel to the fire by reaching for my book bag to get up and walk away. My effort to turn the other cheek however was rewarded with Ronan's boot on my strap, preventing me from leaving.

"What's your problem huh? Get off!" I yelled at him as I tried to pull out the bag from under his foot.

"You know what you did!" He stated menacingly.

"I had nothing to do with that curfew and you know it!"

"Bullshit!" He yelled as he raised his boot and planted it hard on my shoulder.

"Aaah!" I cried as I toppled backwards from the kick. I fell on my butt as my arms braced my fall. 'Ow...what the hell is wrong with him?!' I thought to myself as I looked up at him.

"Thanks to you and this curfew, I might lose my date with Karis! I've been trying to get at that all year you damn witch!"

"Really!?" I snapped at him. "You're yelling at me about being some evil witch and yet you're dating that succubus!?" There were gasps all around us because Karis, was indeed a succubus. As to how and why she's residing here in this school, only lady el knows.

"S-silence you heathen!" shouted Ronan as he defended his love interest. "Regardless of that fact, her kind wasn't the ones who brought on the demon invasion of Velder which plagued all of Elrios! It was you dark magicians and your black magic that caused that tragedy! If it wasn't for the Holy Order for stopping the invasion and destroying the dark mages, why might not even be here today to talk about it!

"N-no, that's not true at all!" I spoke out in protest. I tried the shrink back away from Ronan but he kept marching forward.

"Come on people, you know I'm right." He started preaching to the crowd he created.

"You know...he is right..."

"Yeah... she is a dark mage...just like the ones from back then."

"Yeah that's true, I heard she almost killed a boy in a poison cloud in sparing class."

"She did what?! She's too dangerous to be here in this school!"

"What's she even doing here in this school to begin with!? She should just leave and never come back!"

"Yeah, kick her out! Her and this damn curfew!"

"Yeah, and now we all gotta pay with this damn curfew going into effect."

"Yea its all her fault for getting snatched in the streets!"

"We would be a lot better off if she never woke up!"

"Yeah! She should be the one to pay, not us! Make her pay!"

"Make her pay! Make her pay!"

One by one the comments of the surrounding students feed each other until they became an angry mob, with Ronan at the epicenter. I stared back at them with my back against the wall; trying to fight back the tears welling up inside. Angkor did say that become a void princess is not for the faint of heart but he didn't mention anything about this.

"Why!? Why are you doing this!?" I wailed in confusion and sadness. "I never did anything to any of you! Do you all really hate me that much!?"

"Why you asking dumb questions bitch?" sneered Ronan as he cocked back his fist. "You heard the crowd, you gottta pay!"

I closed my eyes and braced myself for the pain but it never came. Instead there was crowd wide "gasp!"

"Didn't anyone ever tell you it's not manly to hit a girl?" I heard a voice say in front of me. The voice it self...was very familiar.

'Who is that...' I thought to myself as I opened my eyes to see a boy in our school uniform with a red ponytail. He had two smaller ponytails on his sides as well. He was in front of me holding a bewildered Ronan's fist in his hand.

"Are you ok miss?" He asked as he turned around to face me. I couldn't believe my eyes.

"C-c-Crimson!?" I blurted out. I couldn't believe it. Here I thought I'd never see him again and here he is, coming to my rescue.

"Um sorry, my names not crimson miss." He said as he shoved Ronan's fist backwards causing him to stumble. "The name's Elsword. Who might you be?"
