Scott looked up from the textbook he was studying when he heard the front door slam. He waited, and it wasn't long before Abby ran past him and up the stairs. She stomped down the hall and into her bedroom, where she slammed the door loudly.

Soon after that, Finn appeared, wearing a mildly exasperated look on his face. Scott winced sympathetically. "Trouble?" he asked.

Finn took a seat at the table with his oldest son and dropped his head into his hands. "We never had to ground you," he said. "Not even once."

Scott chuckled. "She's a fifteen year old girl, Dad. What did you expect?" When Finn just frowned, Scott continued, "Abby is a good kid, Dad. Everyone does dumb stuff. I've done some dumb stuff too. I'm sure it will be fine."

"But you're in college, Scott. That's different. She's a sophomore in high school, and she's my little girl. She's not allowed to grow up so fast." Finn's brow furrowed, as if he was trying to figure out a way to get Abby to go back to being five years old.

"Tell me about it," Scott agreed. Abby was a bit boy crazy, and she had an outgoing and bubbly personality. She was always attracting people to her, so Scott had already decided that he was never bringing any of his friends home from school. Like his father, Scott played basketball at NYU. Even so, Abby still managed to find a way to be around when he was hanging out with his friends.

Finn shook his head and rubbed a hand over his face. "Your mother is going to flip out when she finds out why I had to ground Abby. And when I say flip, I mean actually lose it."

"It can't be that bad," Scott said. "I mean—" Before he could continue, the front door opened once again and Rachel appeared with Ellie and Evan. Ellie squealed and ran towards her father, running into his arms.

"Hi Daddy!" Ellie greeted brightly. "How was your day?"

Finn kissed Ellie's forehead. "It was fine, sweetie. Now why don't you and Evan go upstairs?" There was no way that Finn wanted his twelve year old daughter to hear any of this. Ellie was still a little girl in his mind (just like Abby was—and to be honest, Finn would never stop thinking that way), and she probably always would be.

Finn didn't even have to tell Evan to go into his room. He yelled, "I'm going to find Boxer!" and disappeared off into some other part of the house. Ellie hugged Scott in greeting as well before she headed up to her room, leaving Rachel to give her husband a knowing look.

"Alright, Finn Hudson. I know something is up. What's going on?"

Finn sighed and took Rachel's hand, pulling her into his lap. Scott made a face but didn't comment on his parents' display of affection any further. After nineteen years, he was pretty used to seeing it at this point. Having parents that were overly affectionate was definitely better than having parents who barely even talked to one another, for sure.

"You know how Abby was at that sleepover last night with some of her friends?" Finn began. He was already bracing himself for the freak out, Scott could tell.

Rachel nodded her head slowly. "They seemed like nice girls," she said, unsure of where this conversation was going.

"And I'm sure they are," Finn said. "But they pulled some stupid teenager stuff and decided to experiment with alcohol last night."

Rachel blinked at her husband. "Excuse me?" she said after a long, tense pause. Scott hid his face behind the textbook, because the last thing he needed was for his mother to get pissed because he was smiling.

Finn sighed. "Our daughter is hungover, Rach."

Rachel stared at Finn for a long moment before she shook her head and stood up. Without another word, she disappeared up the stairs—presumably to go have a chat with Abby herself. As soon as Rachel was completely out of earshot, Scott burst into laughter.

"Hey," Finn scolded half-heartedly. "No laughing."

Scott tried to stifle his laughter, but it only began anew when they heard Abby yell, "WELL FINE! AND PLEASE STOP YELLING BECAUSE MY HEAD HURTS!"
Rachel yelled back, "YOU'RE THE ONE WHO STARTED YELLING FIRST!"

Much like Abby had stomped upstairs earlier, Rachel came back down stairs in the same way. When she came back into the kitchen, she pointed at Finn due to the raised-eyebrow look he was giving her.

"Don't look at me like that, Finn Hudson," she said. "Maybe this will teach her a lesson." Even so, Rachel still got a Gatorade from the fridge and began to make soup for Abby. There was a lesson to be learned here, but that didn't mean that Rachel wasn't going to take care of her daughter.

Finn held his hands up and looked at Scott, who was wearing a matching grin. "I'm just saying."

"Hmpf," Rachel said in response. And just when Scott thought he was going to get away with this completely, Rachel said, "I can see you smiling, Scott!"

Author's Note: I do the same thing that Scott does when my little sister gets in trouble. Does that make me a bad big sister lol?
