"Finny!"
Finn had just walked through the door when he heard the excited exclamation. He caught the petite brunette blur that flew into his arms and chuckled. "Hey baby," he greeted. He managed to press a kiss to the top of Rachel's head because she wouldn't stay still long enough to get to her lips.
Rachel tilted her head back and looked up at Finn with eyes that were slightly unfocused. "Hi Finny," she said sweetly with a wide smile. Finn laughed again and put both his hands on either side of her face, leaning down to press his lips to hers.
Behind Finn, Puck rolled his eyes. "Please stop mauling my little cousin in front of me. Just because I said you could date her doesn't mean I want to see you make out with her."
Finn ignored his best friend and continued to kiss Rachel, who was more than happy to do so. Eventually, Rachel seemed to realize that her cousin was standing there, and she pulled back just enough to speak. Finn pressed kisses to the side of her face and neck, and she giggled between words.
"You're just mad that you're the designated driver, Noah." She giggled again when Finn kissed a particularly sensitive spot. Rachel had been at the party for a solid hour and had ample time to drink, while Finn had been pre-gaming with a few of their friends because Puck didn't want to stay sober at a party any longer than he had to.
Finn removed his lips from Rachel long enough to agree. "I was DD for you last weekend, man. Fair is fair."
Puck mumbled darkly under his breath, but he knew Finn was right so he didn't argue. He found some poor freshman to harass and ordered him to go find him a soda. He totally knew that he should have figured out a way to get Santana to DD for the night, but that definitely wasn't going to happen (because Santana was already definitely dancing on the table over in the dining room of the apartment they were in).
Rachel wrapped her arms around Finn's neck. She had always been the touchy-feely, super giggly drunk, but Finn thought it was the cutest thing ever. Finn wasn't as far gone as Rachel, though. He was definitely feeling it but was still sober enough to take care of his girlfriend.
Finn and Rachel had only been dating for a little under a month as this point, but both had never been happier. Just thinking about it made Finn pull Rachel close for another kiss.
"I'm so happy you're here, Finn," Rachel murmured against his lips. She curled her fingers into his shirt, and Finn thought that she was going to take their kiss one step further for a moment. Instead, she suddenly pulled back and used his shirt to tug him towards the dance floor. "Dance with me, Finn!"
Finn groaned. "Rach, you know I don't dance." But even as he protested, he allowed her to pull him onto the dance floor. For someone so small, Rachel certainly did have quite a bit of strength.
"I know," Rachel said. She reached up and patted his cheek playfully. "You can just stand there and look pretty." Without giving Finn a chance to respond, Rachel spun around and pressed her back to his front. She reached for his large hands and placed them on her waist as she moved against him, causing Finn to hold back another groan. It was so unfair when Rachel did this to him, especially when they were in a public place.
Finn let Rachel keep him on the makeshift dance floor for another two songs before he gently nudged her towards the kitchen. If she was going to keep dancing with him like that, Finn was going to need at least another beer. Rachel wrapped both of her tiny arms around one of his and pressed her face to his bicep.
"Rachel is back and she has the boyfriend!" Tina announced when she spotted her friend. She pointed to Rachel and the rest of their friends cheered around them. Artie, Tina's boyfriend, chuckled and shook his head before turning to say something to Puck.
Santana jumped off the table and ran over, stealing some shots that another classmate of theirs had poured. She shoved it towards Rachel, succeeding in getting liquid everywhere. "Take the shot, Berry!" Santana ordered. She knocked hers back and reached for another one while motioning for Rachel to take hers at the same time.
Rachel did and then swayed slightly. It occurred to Finn then that he had no idea how much Rachel had to drink before he had arrived. He put a hand on the small of Rachel's back to steady her. It looked like he was going to be keeping an eye on Rachel for the rest of the night, but he certainly didn't mind. He reached for a bottle of water that was in a nearby cooler and cracked it open. Across the kitchen, Puck raised his soda and nodded his head at Finn with a smirk.
"Come on, Finny!" Rachel exclaimed loudly. "Let's go play flip cup!"
Finn laughed and allowed Rachel to tug him through the dense crowd of people. This was sure to be an interesting night.
"Ughhhh."
Rachel closed her eyes even more tightly against the sunlight streaming in through her windows. It did nothing to stop the throbbing in her head, so she pulled the blankets over her head and curled into a small ball. Maybe she would be able to find some kind of relief in the darkness.
The warm body next to hers made her feel a little bit better, too. She pressed herself further into Finn's side and let out a whimper of protest when he moved.
"You're awake," Rachel heard Finn say quietly. "Want me to go get you some water?"
Rachel an incoherent sort of noise that was supposed to mean yes. Thankfully, Finn was able to interpret it and climbed out of bed. Rachel only had to wait a few moments before Finn returned and gently pulled the covers back.
Rachel threw her arm over her eyes. "Turn the sun off," she pleaded.
Finn chuckled lightly and took a seat next to Rachel on the bed once again. "Sorry, baby," he said, his voice full of sympathy. He had been a victim of a few hangovers himself before, so he knew the drill. He put his hand on Rachel's shoulder, hoping to get her to sit up a little bit. "Why don't you drink this glass of water and take some aspirin?"
Rachel sighed heavily before she finally forced herself to sit up. She pouted as she forced herself to try and get used to the bright sun and the feeling of the room still spinning. Thankfully, Finn wrapped his arm around her and pulled her into his side.
"This is awful," Rachel mumbled. "I don't ever want to feel like this again."
Finn pressed his lips to Rachel's temple and stroked her hair gently, helping to soothe her headache. "Don't worry, Rach. I'll take care of you."
I love college Finn and Rachel. :)
