FADE IN: LEO'S BEDROOM, A COUPLE DAYS LATER.
Leo is sitting on a bed with a worn red blankey covering it. The room is relatively neat except for a desk barely visible in the corner of the frame, which is strewn with papers, machine parts, and a laptop.
Leo looks exhausted, and no less depressed than the last time he appeared on camera.
LEO: I can't believe I'm going through with this.
He sighs deeply and runs a hand through his hair.
LEO: When my therapist suggested this, I had no fucking plans to go through with this shit. Video diaries. like that's gonna make everything fucking better.
He sighs again, and the anger on his face melts away.
LEO: But then I did one with Anni, and the therapist was right. It does help.
He reaches behind the camera and pulls out a picture frame. The picture is of Calypso, laughing. Leo stares at it.
LEO: I loved her so much, you know? I really loved her. I had plans for us, together. I-I hadn't told her, but I was two steps away from securing a loan from the bank to start our machine shop. I was so sure she would love it, and that she loved me, and we would spend the rest of our lives together, and she cant even tell me it's over to my face. Just writes me a damn letter and leaves while I'm at work. Her boss said she quit the day before. I got home to find all of her stuff gone and this fucking letter telling me not to look for her. She said she was off to find herself or some shit…
He's close to tears.
LEO: I miss her.
He sniffles and drags an arm across his eyes.
LEO: Okay, that's enough.
He reaches to turn the camera off. FADE TO BLACK.
FADE IN: THREE WEEKS LATER. ANNABETH AND PERCY'S APARTMENT.
It's a small, shabby little place, but it is bursting at the seams with love and Percy and Annabeth are absolutely glowing with pride. It's decorated for Christmas, with garlands strung around the walls and a tiny Christmas tree in the window. Several gifts in bright paper and bags are strewn beneath it. Piper is grinning next to them, with Jason hugging her from behind. Hazel is leaning on Frank. Nico and Will are standing with Will's arm slung around Nico's shoulder. Coach Hedge is trying to keep hold of a very energetic Chuck, while Mellie laughs beside him at her son's antics. All are wearing ugly Christmas sweaters.
Someone else is holding the camera, probably Anni. She zooms in on Leo.
Leo, who is wearing a sweater covered in sheep and the words 'baahhhh humbug', is standing in the corner watching everybody. He clearly feels like the seventh wheel once again.
The doorbell rings, and the camera swings around to face it. Percy opens the door.
PERCY: Jesus, Sam, my eyes are bleeding!
A young woman with short, straight brown hair, wearing a sweater decorated with kittens in Santa hats and light-up Christmas lights, is at the door. She laughs and steps inside, and is introduced to everyone as Samantha, Percy and Annabeths new next-door neighbor and friend.
Sam sees Leo's sweater when he comes forward to greet her and introduce himself. She laughs again.
SAM: That is both the awesomest and the ugliest thing I have ever seen.
Leo laughs.
LEO: I could say the same for yours.
Sam turns towards the camera. FADE TO BLACK.
