Shhh, listen. Do you hear that sound?

That is the sweet sound of DENIAL, my friends.

Jason Grace is NOT dead, and he and Piper are STILL TOGETHER.

Also, quick note: I AM AWARE Rosa's last name would be Valdez. However, in this story (and in canon too, I think,) SHE IS MARRIED. Therefore, my thought process was that she would have her husbands last name. Ive gotten several sarcastic messages about that, thought I should clear it up.

Another quick note: Do not read The Burning Maze if you wish to remain with me in the state of Denial by the river of Itdidnthappen in the FIxitwithfanfiction house.

FADE IN: A FEW MONTHS LATER.

Coach Hedge is the one behind the camera.

It's summer, and they are all at a swimming pool. Leo is clowning around, wearing red swim trunks. He looks much better than the last time he was seen.

Anni is wearing a green swimsuit and is sitting poolside, laughing as Leo splashes her and dares her to get in the water before Percy tackles him. Annabeth, wearing a black two-piece, is laughing from the other end.

Piper's hair is longer, and she is radiant in a white bikini with Jason's arm around her shoulders. They both laugh and gallantly jump in in answer to Leo's dramatic cries for help.

Hazel is wearing a yellow two-piece swimsuit, and her hair is cut a little shorter than it had been at Christmas. She's standing by the barbeque grill, talking to Frank, who's manning it. They are both watching the water fight and grinning.

Around the pool are a few unexpected faces: Sam, Percy and Annabeths neighbor, in a blue one piece with a beer in hand, is laughing hysterically and egging the brawlers on, especially when Annabeth joins in. A young man is sitting beside Anni. As the camera trains on Leo catching Percy in a chokehold, the young man can be seen putting his arm around Anni's shoulders and smiling at her in the corner of the frame.

Percy throws Leo off of him and a wave of water blocks the camera's view for a moment.

When vision returns, Percy gets out of the water and nonchalantly picks up an apple from a table laden with food.

"Hey, Wise Girl." he calls. "Think fast."

He threw the apple, and Annabeth catches it before blinking down at it, eyes going wide. Shen she looks up, Percy has dropped to one knee and is holding a ring in his hand. His grin is wide and full of love.

"Marry me?"

Annabeth nearly bowls him over with a hug and a gasped "Yes!"

Everyone bursts into applause and a couple wolf-whistles when the couple kiss deeply. Coach Hedge is heard retching behind the camera.

FADE TO BLACK.

FADE IN: ONE YEAR LATER

Its a professional camera this time, trained on several rows of white chairs. Flowers decorate the simple arch beneath a spreading oak tree. Mr. Chase is sitting in the front row, and Magnus can be seen, sitting in the middle with Alex next to him. Sally and Paul are sitting on the other side of the aisle, and Sally looks like shes trying not to cry.

Percy is standing at the altar in a deep blue suit. Jason, Leo, and Frank are standing to the side as groomsmen. Chiron is officiating.

Little Estelle skips down the aisle as the flower girl. One by one, Piper, Hazel and Thalia come down the aisle as bridesmaids.

And then Annabeth appears at the end of the aisle. Percy can be seen catching his breath.

She's wearing a very Grecian-inspired dress, and her veil is long, trailing behind her. Shes holding a bouquet of red roses. She's smiling, and she has eyes only for Percy.

Its a simple but beautiful ceremony.

When vows are said and Chiron pronounces "You may kiss the bride." Percy spins Annabeth around before dipping her and kissing her sweetly, earning a couple of wolf whistles from the now cheering guests.

Then, together, Percy and Annabeth walked back down the aisle, hand in hand.
