"Are you sure you don't want to put on some more sunscreen?"

Finn had been pretty distracted when Rachel had stripped off her tank top and shorts to reveal the pink and white bikini she wore underneath. Puck had even made fun of him a few times and he hadn't even noticed, he was that distracted by how his girlfriend looked. And Rachel knew it, too.

But when she only but some sunscreen on her face and shoulders, Finn immediately noticed. Given that he was so pale, he had learned the hard way (and more than once) that it was important to apply and reapply sunscreen.

Rachel smiled at her concerned boyfriend over her shoulder. "Finn, I've spent years out in the sun and haven't really ever burned. I've only gotten tan."

Finn snorted. "Must be nice." They were currently at the beach for their first trip of summer vacation. This was also Finn and Rachel's first summer together as a couple. At this point, they had been dating for almost eight months.

"But if you need some help, I can rub the sunscreen on your back," Rachel teased. She knew how it easy it was for her boyfriend to burn. They were out a picnic about a month ago and Finn's forehead had gotten sunburnt simply from that exposure!

Finn made a face at her but handed her the bottle of sunscreen anyway. Rachel squirted some into her small hands and rubbed it together so it wasn't cold. She smoothed her hands over his back, making sure that every square inch of his pale skin was covered.

"Come on, Rachel!" Quinn called. She pushed Puck away, as he was trying to kick sand on her legs. Giving him a mildly exasperated look, Quinn gestured for Rachel to join her and Santana. "Come in the water with us!"

Rachel kissed Finn's cheek and then ran across the sand to join their friends. Finn watched with a goofy grin on his face as he watched his girlfriend run in her tiny bikini.

Rachel groaned and pressed her face into the pillow underneath her. She closed her eyes against the stiffness in her body. The last thing Rachel wants to do is move to increase the stinging in her legs.

Rachel felt the mattress dip underneath her and she turned her head just enough to see her boyfriend sitting next to her. He had a bottle of aloe vera in one hand and some ibuprofen and a glass of water in the other. Rachel sat up just enough to quickly take the medicine and then lay back down again.

"You know…" Finn plucked the wet cloth that Rachel had covering the backs of her legs off of her. He winced at the bright red skin facing him. "This isn't really going to help. But I know what might." Finn squirted the cold aloe vera onto the backs of her legs.

Rachel hissed at the feel of the cold gel on her burning skin, but she loved it at the same time. Finn began to gently rub it into her legs. Rachel groaned again, but this time in appreciation—it hurt and felt amazing all at once.

"You can say it, you know," Rachel mumbled into the pillow.

Finn chuckled and squirted some more of the aloe vera on Rachel's other leg. "Say what?"

"I told you so."

After spending some time in the ocean, Santana, Rachel, and Quinn had laid out in the sun. Unfortunately, Rachel had missed the window of reapplying the sunscreen because she accidentally took a nap while she had been lying on her stomach in the sun. The sunburn hadn't set in for another two hours, and by then Rachel had been absolutely miserable.

Somehow, Rachel had even managed to get burnt on her ass. Finn massaged some of the cold aloe vera there as well. Leaning over, Finn kissed the side of Rachel's face (where she wasn't sunburnt).

"I wouldn't say that to you. I think all this sunburn is enough." He added another layer of the gel and then lay down next to Rachel, stroking her hair. Rachel turned her head to face him and snuggled towards him as close as she possible could while on her stomach.

"You're the best," Rachel mumbled sleepily. "I love you."

Finn pressed a gentle kiss to Rachel's lips and draped an arm across her waist. "Love you too, Rach."

This was inspired by the trip I took to the beach yesterday, in which I got extremely sunburnt on the backs of my legs.
