Disclaimer: I don't anything.

This chapter takes place directly after chapter 28, "About Time."

"Can I have a scoop of the peanut butter swirl with another scoop of the bubblegum on top? And can I have that with caramel sauce, gummy bears, and those chocolate sprinkle things? Oh, and I want it on a pretzel cone."

Rachel made a face of complete repulsion. "Noah, I swear that you must have a dumpster for a stomach. How in the world can you eat any of that?"

Puck shrugged his shoulders as he accepted his overloaded ice cream cone from the server behind the counter. "It tastes good," he said by way of explanation.

Kurt looked positively horrified by the cone of ice cream. Who knew that ice cream could be so offensive? "That is the most disgusting thing I think I've ever seen."

Puck rolled his eyes. "Don't be such a baby, Petunia. You like your thing, I like mine. No one is making you eat my ice cream." Then he smirked and a decidedly evil expression came onto his face. "Then again..." Puck thrust the cone at Kurt, who shrieked and immediately jumped back.

"Puckerman! This is one of a kind vintage jacket and I cannot have you ruin it with your disgusting bubblegum ice cream!"

Apparently deciding that someone had to play referee, Blaine wrapped his arm around his boyfriend's shoulders and guided him towards the counter. He ordered for the both of them—a scoop of vanilla in a cup for Kurt, and two scoops of strawberry in a cake cone for Blaine. They were grateful that Blaine was there, because he was one of the only people that could successfully calm Kurt down in a semi-reasonable amount of time.

"That is some disgusting shit," Santana agreed. Her lips curled up into a smirk as sinister as Puck's. "Seriously, Puckerman. Who knew that you liked bubblegum ice cream?"

Puck narrowed his eyes in a glare at the Latina woman. "Shut up," he grumbled. "It tastes good."

Santana continued to make fun of Puck as she ordered two scoops of Dulce de leche in a cake cone for herself. She even harassed Puck into paying for her. Rachel shuddered as she watched one of her best friends and her cousin shamelessly flirt. Even though Santana had long ago declared that she was into women (and even had an on-and-off relationship with one of the dance majors that Rachel went to school with), she would still hook up with Puck. There were just some things that Rachel never needed to know about.

Finn touched Rachel's elbow, and she was glad for the distraction (because seriously, she didn't need to worry about her best friend and her cousin's twisted relationship). He smiled down at her, and Rachel felt that tingly warmth spread through her. She was still flying high from Finn asking her out earlier; in fact, there was probably nothing that could bring her down from this fantastic mood.

"What would you like?" Finn asked.

Rachel bit her lip and tapped her finger against her chin. She loved ice cream, and she would often jump between flavors depending on how she felt. Finally, she decided. "Can I have a scoop of chocolate fudge chunk in a cup, please?" she asked the server behind the counter. Before she could dig her wallet out, Rachel felt Finn come up behind her.

"I'll have two scoops of mint chocolate chip in a waffle cone," Finn said. "And I'm paying for hers, too."

Rachel looked over her shoulder and tried not to get too giddy about how close Finn was to her. "Finn, are you—"

"Yes, I'm sure," Finn said with a chuckle. He handed over the money and then accepted the cup and the cone from the server. He passed Rachel the cone and smiled at the look of pure, childish delight on her face.

Rachel had been about to take a bite of her ice cream when she realized that Finn was watching her. "What?" she asked. The loaded spoon was only a few centimeters from her mouth, and she didn't want to wait very longer. Deciding to forgo manners, Rachel popped the spoon in her mouth—much to the amusement of Finn.

"That's a lot of chocolate in one scoop of ice cream," he pointed out.

Rachel shrugged her shoulders and gave Finn a playful smile. "I like chocolate!"

"Mine has chocolate." Finn offered the cone to Rachel, and she leaned forward to take a nibble of it. The hand that held the cone was still moving, however, and Finn ended up accidentally bumping Rachel in the nose. Rachel gasped as the cold, wet ice cream covered the tip of her nose, and Finn did the only thing he could: he burst into laughter.

Rachel's mouth opened and closed before she finally began to laugh as well. It really was very funny. Naturally, something like this would happen. Still giggling, Rachel tried to wipe the ice cream off of her nose as best she could with her finger. She licked the runny mint chocolate chip off her fingers and nodded her head in approval.

"That really is good," she agreed. When she saw that Finn was giving her a look much similar to the one he had only a few moments ago. Rachel planted her free hand on her hip. "What are you laughing at, Finn Hudson?"

Finn just shook his head. "You're just cute, that's all." Rachel blushed fiercely and didn't bother to hide the bright smile that formed on her lips. "And you also have some ice cream on your chin."

"Oh!" Rachel tried to wipe at her chin, but Finn just chuckled and shook his head. Stepping closer to her, he raised a hand in a silent offering of helping her. Rachel lifted her chin and allowed him to step closer. Finn's large hand was gentle as his calloused fingers gently wiped the spot of mint chocolate chip from her chin.

The words were out of Rachel's mouth before she could stop herself. "You can kiss me if you want to."

Finn's smile was breathtaking. "I want to."

Closing the rest of the space between them, Finn pressed his lips to Rachel's in a soft, tender kiss. She clung to her arms and strained up onto her tiptoes, trying to press closer to Finn. When he slid his arms around her waist and pulled her against him, Rachel let out a happy sigh.

They made the kiss last for as long as they could before Finn pulled away. He rested his forehead against hers and Rachel slid his hands up her chest, curling her fingers into his shirt.

"Finn," Rachel breathed.

"Should we give you two some time alone, or something?"

Finn and Rachel turned to see all of their friends watching them. Rachel blushed and buried her face in Finn's chest. Finn laughed and rubbed his hands over Rachel's back comfortingly. Puck was making a face somewhere between mild disgust and happiness for his best friend.

"I really don't need to see my little cousin making out with my best friend," Puck grumbled.

Rachel peeked over Finn's shoulder to glare at her cousin. "We weren't making out, Noah!" she protested. "Just go away and eat your disgusting ice cream."

"Speaking of…" Finn frowned and then looked down at the ground. When he had wrapped his arms around Rachel's waist, he had dropped his ice cream cone. Rachel giggled at the pout on his face.

"Don't worry, Finn," she assured. "You can share with me."

A little throwback to when Finn and Rachel first began dating. :)
