Episode 290: Power Rangers SPD: Dismissed
Cruger dreams about the last time he encountered Grumm. They dueled and he cut off Grumm's horn. He wakes up and contacts Grumm
"I challenge you to a one-on-one duel" said Cruger
"I accept" said Grumm
The next day Kat delivers a message to Cruger
"SPD Galaxy Command is sending Supreme Commander Birdie here" said Kat "he'll be here within the hour"
"Great" said Cruger sarcastically "I wonder what old bird Fowler wants this time"
An hour later, Cruger, Kat, and the B-Squad are lined up for Birdie's arrival
"Greetings" said Cruger "Supreme Commander Birdie"
"Commander Cruger" said Birdie and he then looks at the B-Squad "so this is the infamous B-Squad. I'm not impressed"
"Commander" began Cruger
"Take me to your command center" said Birdie, cutting off Cruger and they go to the command center "I'm impressed with the command center Dr. Manx"
"Thank-you" said Kat
"You should work for me at Galaxy Command" said Birdie
"No thank you Commander" said Kat and alarms go off "a giant robot is attacking"
"Stop it Rangers" said Cruger
"SPD EMERGENCY!" said Jack "SPD, B-SQUAD, RED RANGER 1!"
"SPD, B-SQUAD, BLUE RANGER 2!" said Sky
"SPD, B-SQUAD, GREEN RANGER 3!" said Bridge
"SPD, B-SQUAD, YELLOW RANGER 4!" said Z
"SPD, B-SQUAD, PINK RANGER 5!" said Sydney and they go over to some emergency chutes that take them to the Delta Runners.
"RED DELTA RUNNER 1!" said Jack
"BLUE DELTA RUNNER 2!" said Sky
"GREEN DELTA RUNNER 3!" said Bridge
"YELLOW DELTA RUNNER 4!" said Z
"PINK DELTA RUNNER 5!" said Sydney. The Delta Base opens up and the Delta Runners rush to the battle.
"DELTA SQUAD MEGAZORD!" said Jack and the Megazord is formed. The Megazord battles the robot
"They shouldn't have let the robot in the city in the first place" said Birdie "you should split them up, they could cover more ground"
"With all due respect Commander" said Cruger "that would be dangerous"
"Let me make myself clear" said Birdie "I order you to split them up"
"And let me make myself clear" said Cruger "No"
"Then you leave me no choice but to relieve you of your duty" said Birdie "I will take command of SPD Earth for now. My first order of business will be to split them up"
"Too late" said Cruger "they've already destroyed the robot and contained the alien"
"When they return" said Birdie "inform them of the change" and he leaves as the B-Squad comes in
"Cadets" said Cruger "I've been relieved of my duties. Supreme Commander Birdie is your commander now" and he leaves as Kat walks up
"What happened Kat?" Jack asked
"Birdie wanted to split you up" said Kat "Cruger refused and was relieved as a result"
"We could just refuse to follow orders as well" said Z "and if he fires us so be it"
"That might work for the Sky, Bridge, and Syd" said Jack "but you and I haven't completed our year of service yet, we'll be thrown in prison if we quit"
"What about contacting Commander Oliver?" Sydney asked "doesn't he outrank Birdie?"
"Kind of" said Bridge "Tommy and Project Hexagon helped build SPD and he is the commander of all Power Rangers, but Birdie isn't a Ranger, Tommy could put a lot of pressure on Birdie, but at the end of the day, Birdie doesn't have to follow Tommy's orders"
"Not to mention" said Sky "we're SPD, we're suppose to follow orders, even if we don't like them"
"I agree with Sky" said Kat "at least for now, play along. Anyways, I just heard Tommy is busy, apparently an alien stole something from a museum that use to be his and he is trying to track it down" and then alarms go off and Birdie walks in "Grumm is attacking in an empty stadium"
"We're on our way" said Sydney
"Not so fast" said Birdie "Red, Blue, and Green, stop Grumm, Yellow and Pink, remain here to wait for further orders"
"Yes, sir" said the B-Squad
"SPD EMERGENCY!" said Jack "SPD, B-SQUAD, RED RANGER 1!"
"SPD, B-SQUAD, BLUE RANGER 2!" said Sky
"SPD, B-SQUAD, GREEN RANGER 3!" said Bridge and they get on their Patrol Cycles and race to fight Grumm, who is on his own cycle. He beats them badly
"Tell Cruger" said Grumm "that I'm ready for out battle" and they return to the Base
"You lost?" Birdie asked as further alarms go off
"An alien called Changtor is attacking downtown" said Kat
"Yellow and Pink" said Birdie "stop them"
"SPD EMERGENCY!" said Z "SPD, B-SQUAD, YELLOW RANGER 4!"
"SPD, B-SQUAD, PINK RANGER 5!" said Sydney and they race downtown
"If you want something done right" said Birdie "do it yourself" and he grabs a sword to fight Grumm
"Kat" said Jack "Grumm told us to tell Cruger that he wants to fight"
"Find Cruger" said Kat "and tell him"
"Okay Kat" said Jack and he goes to find Cruger
At the stadium, Birdie arrives
"You're not Cruger" said Grumm
"He was relieved of duty" said Birdie "I'm Supreme Commander Birdie" and the two battle, but Birdie loses badly
Outside the Delta Base, Jack talks to Cruger
"Grumm is on Earth" said Jack "and he wants to fight you, but Birdie went to fight him"
"What?" Cruger asked and he raced to the command center, where Kat is monitoring the battles "what's going on Kat?"
"Birdie is losing to Grumm" said Kat "and the girls are fighting a monster that just grew"
"Why aren't the guys with them?" Cruger asked
"Birdie ordered them to stay back" said Kat
"Birdie is a fool" said Cruger "send Jack, Sky, and Bridge to join the girls, they'll be needed to form the Megazord. I'll take responsibility if Birdie has a problem with it"
"Of course Doggie" said Kat "now I have something for you"
At the stadium, Grumm is about to finish off Birdie when Grumm is shot by the Shadow Ranger on the Shadow ATV. He forces Grumm to retreat as the rest of the Rangers run up, just having contained the alien.
"I'm sorry for getting in your way" said Birdie "Commander Cruger. I will return to Galaxy Command"
