"What?" Ahiru, thought to herself, dancing in a dimly lit room with mirrors all over the walls "is this a dream?" She whispered and stopping her dance "how do I get out of this room!?" She began to search the room of any type of exit, but no matter that she did she was unable to find any type of escape "this is no dream this is an absolute nightmare!" panicking She dropped to the floor "I hate this, I hate these nightmares, I hate being in a story where I don't belong I wish I could go back to being a duck already!" sobbing. She realized a tiny figure in the corner of the room. "Uzura how did you get in here?" she asked, standing up
"This way zura!" the little green haired girl announce beating her drum, then jumping into the it is mirror behind her
"Wait Uzura, don't leave me!" Ahiru shouted trying to follow her, but instead but instead, she woke up on the floor of her dorm "that was a bad dream" she grumbled. Looking up at the window "oh, that's right! I'm supposed to be packing for the trip to Silver Staff today." after Changing from her nightgown to her long-sleeved yellow shirt and shorts. She began to search the room for some type suitcase until she heard a knock on the door as you told a short silent until a quiet voice spoke.
"Umm Ahiru it me Yara can you please open the door" Ahiru did so.
"Hello Yara how are you today?" she asked
"Oh I feel fine, thank you for asking, but I have a favor to ask you." Yara said with a worried tone "because umm … You're the only student who notices me…I was wondering if you would like to go and help me buy some new clothes?"
"Sure, I'll go with you" she replied
"Oh, thank you, thank you, thank you so much Ahiru I really don't like leaving the school ground alone." Yara said, relieved. Ahiru looked that Yara for a short while before speaking again
"Ah Yara?" Ahiru questioned "where's your money?"
"Oh, I keep it in my stereo, see" putting the large metal box down and, pointing to a worn-out edge, then quickly picking it up "my stereo doesn't just play music, but it's an nifty place to hide, Almost everything, That's a reason I carry it around so much." She giggled "so let's go shopping?"
"Okay." Ahiru answer. They to turn around and began to walk down the hallway, but was then suddenly stopped when Pike and Lilie jump to the rooms surprising Ahiru and scaring Yara so badly that as she tried to run away but ended up running herself into the wall behind them.
"What was that for?" Pike confused by Yaras strange behavior
"So sorry" Yara recovered "I don't take being startled very well"
"I guess that makes sense." Ahiru said "Yara I like you and meet, my friends Pike and Lillie."
"Hello" Yara squeaked
"Sorry that we scared you, we just over here and you guys were going shopping and we wanted to go to" Lille said
"Oh it's completely find that you guys come, right Yara?" Ahiru ask. Yara nodded her head up and down, but looked very unsure for answer.
"Good because we were hoping to by some fancy dresses of the Arts Festival" Pike said walking down the stairs
"Uh why?" Ahiru asked begging to follow her
"Well" Lillie started to explain counting to follow them "there are rumors' going around about the opening ceremony is an extremely important event to the people of Silver Staff and because Silver Staff it's well known for its high society residence and must be something like a royal ball."
"Oh" Ahiru muttered, and then they all walked out the girls dorms together as they began to leave the school grounds something caught Ahirus eye "uh Corvin?" she stopped watching him walk slowly in the other direction "he look so sad, why?"
"Hey Ahiru are you coming?" Pike called to her
"I forgot something in my room" Ahiru said to her friend's "I will meet you guys at the dress shop okay." Pike and Lillie nodded and turned to leave the school grounds Yara, stayed a little bit longer than the other two and opened her mouth as if she was going to say something important and then turned around to follow them "what was she" Ahiru stopped herself and began to follow after Corvin. She followed him throughout the town trying as hard as she could to not get caught, her chase finally ended at the school gardens. Carefully hidden behind a corner of the nearest building Ahiru watched Corvin enter into garden, straightening her head Ahiru could see Freya was also in the garden her blonde hair sparkling as she watered the flowers. "Wow Freya is just as pretty as I remember I wonder if she is" Ahiru caught herself before continuing the rest of thought "No! Freya is to kind and gentle to be Lady Butterfly, but they both sure do look alike." Ahiru tried to listen into a conversation Freya and Corvin were having but she could not make out any words.
Corvin was clearly asking Freya questions, Freya then smiled unsurely and began to slowly walk away then eventually running out of the garden. Ahiru sneaked her way to behind a statue in the garden can have better view of the situation, Corvin stood there silently over some time only to be startled by a familiar sound. "Five!" James voice rang clearly from across the garden.
"What do you mean five?" Corvin muttered
"Five girls who have enough intelligence to reject you on the spot!" James laughed walking over to him
"Freya didn't reject me she just…" Corvin said in a quivering voice
"Said no" James added "I enjoy looking at you this way your misery reminds me exactly what you are; nothing more than a spineless monster with the giant hole where the heart supposed to be."
"You have a hole too, but there's something inside of it that makes it grow" Corvin said retaliation
"Holes where their hearts should be does that mean Corvin and James but their full of emotion?" Ahiru thought to herself
"No!" James shouted catching her attention "don't say that I'm fine you're the one that's broken! I-I still I s-still remember not a lot b-but you were there!"
"James you're not well let every that is hurting you go I will help you." Corvin said trying to comfort him
"Stay away from me you don't mean what you say!" James shrieked in terror "if you don't mean what to say that means…"
"James you're sick and hallucinating clam down and I'll get Mr. Cat" Corvin stated James's fear getting to him, There was a short pause then everything grew silent.
"I don't need any help" James said confidently "I just did that see you scared it's so fun to watch you be scared." Then he slowly turned around and walked out of the garden.
"Ahiru?" Corvin mumbled looking weak "I know you're there please don't run away."
"What did he mean by holes where your heart should be?" She asked moving slowly out from behind the statue.
"I know it means about me but, truthfully I can only why I guess what it means for James." Corvin answered looking at her
"So what does it mean?" Ahiru continued
"Okay you at least have the right to know about me" he smiled tilting his head slightly back to look at the sky "ever sense I was young I lack the ability to feel sertent things, emotionally feeling such as love happiness I don't feel those who do I feel pain or just empty so order for people not to worry about me I usually act about what I'm supposed to feel " he looked back down to see Ahiru her eyes welling up with tears "Ahiru why are you crying" he said in shock
"Nothing just what you said reminded me of a friend I used to know." She stated wiping the tears from her eyes
"Don't cry" he said grabbing something out of his pocket "I was saving this for someone special but I don't think she's showing up any time soon" holding out a shiny silver heart shaped locket and chain with a big reddish black ruby in the center "do you want it"
"It's really pretty, Corvin, but" she hesitated grabbing her pendent
"It is okay" he said "but if you don't mind if I don't find the one that is meant for by the end of the day could you just take it from me?"
"Okay Corvin but I have to go now my friend are waiting for me." She said walking out of the garden
